First of all, climate change scientists only qualification is that they can read a thermometer, most likely digital, and record the reading. I think they teach first graders this level of science.
Second of all, there are deserts that once had water so the planet has cycled in the past without human intervention so these cycles happen.
Lastly, if the planet keeps shooting lava out to form islands and add to land masses, how does the planet get more lava or do we eventually run out?

While I'm not an Al Gore fan, the "inconvenient truth" of global warming is that it was mis-named and should instead be called "Climate Deterioration". That means more extreme and violent atmosphere resulting in wacky weather. It's not just warmer, some places will be colder. And please let me remind all you denier-fucks, that methane is in the process of being released into the atmosphere in spades due to the tundra warming up and allowing the bubbles below to rise. While most of the climate debate has thus far been about Co2, let me remind you Methane is 100% worse and Co2, so long on bottled oxygen futures. When the earth starts warming uncontrollably because of Humans we'll all buy in but that is about as likely as the Fed tapering.

If you remember what the real scientists said on the issue back in the late 70s, you'll remember that they were expecting a ice age, but before that occurs, a period of 'warming' will be found as a result, same as it's always the warmest just before the next cold front moves in. That period of 'warming' ended around 1998, and like any tipping point, we can see that our warming partner has jumped off the tetter-totter, which leaves us to slam to the ground into the next ice age. The deviation charts are quite telling. The pattern is well under way, and when it hits ground, this ride won't be any fun at all. Check out an old Newsweek from the late 70s, it was on the cover at the time. That is the 'unconvenient truth', but like Wall Street, the distractions are always so much more 'fun'... at least until we hit the ground.
