No it doesn't.  NYC has become just exactly like Moscow and St. Petersburg years ago - with one important difference: public transportation for the millions who use it/need it  is of infinitely better quality in Russia and a damn sight cheaper, meaning affordable.

I have wseen that sickle some place before:

And I saw, and behold, a white cloud; and on the cloud I saw one sitting like unto a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the temple, crying with a great voice to him that sat on the cloud, Send forth thy sickle, and reap: for the hour to reap is come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud cast his sickle upon the earth; and the earth was reaped. Another angel came out from the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, he that hath power over fire; and he called with a great voice to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Send forth thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel cast his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vintage of the earth, and cast it into the winepress, the great winepress, of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and there came out blood from the winepress, even unto the bridles of the horses, as far as a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Speaking of how well that 'national security' is working a news story about a terrorist you won't be hearing about because he doesn't foward the police state security meme.

Even though he was arrested with 48 bombs, several weapons, and a bulletproof vest, you might not have heard of the arrest of Andrew Scott Boguslawski. Boguslawski was recently pulled over for driving 15 mph over the speed limit in London, Ohio, just outside of the state capital.

The officer who pulled him over noticed that Boguslawski’s bumper sticker read, “If you can read this, you’re in range.” That led him to ask Andrew Scott Boguslawski whether there were any weapons in his car. Under Ohio law, if you are carrying a weapon legally, you must keep your hands in plain sight and tell a law enforcement officer when they approach the vehicle. Since Boguslawski didn’t mention any weapons, the officer thought something might be amiss, since anyone with a bumper sticker like that would likely have a Concealed Carry Weapons permit… unless they were prohibited from obtaining one, the officer reasoned.

Still, the officer knew this suspicion did not meet the burden of probable cause, so he wrote Boguslawski a ticket for going 85 in a 70 mph zone of Interstate 70, just outside of the state’s capital of Columbus. When Boguslawski took the ticket, part of a handgun was revealed, sticking out from underneath one of his legs. Under Ohio law, a firearm must be kept secured in a holster when carried. Boguslawski had not only lied about the presence of the weapon, but he had it ready to grab.

When the officer called for backup, their search revealed that Boguslawski had more than just a handgun, but was instead hauling 48 bombs, and additional bomb-making materials. He also had two pistols and two rifles, as well as a bulletproof vest. Some of the 48 bombs were connected to remote detonators already, making it clear that Boguslawski was on his way to plant these bombs.

The mainstream media hasn’t show much interest in this case yet. One might wonder whether this would be the case if Boguslawski’s name was “Abdullah”.

I disagree with the author's conclusion and put forth you don't hear about this because local police using standard police training and common sense caught this guy and the media can't spin it as a success for 'national security' since he was never flagged as terrorist for all his bomb making materials and they can't claim they protected us to push the we need a more militarized 'national security' force to keep everyone safe from terrorism meme with this one. This local cop wasn't trained in counter-terrrorism, rolling around like Gi-Joe armed to the teeth. He was just a local guy who used typical police training and some common sense. You don't need some civil rights power grab to do police work.

Just gonna throw this out there as a wild ass theory:

Perhaps he was on his way to either set the bombs himself or give/sell to someone else who would.  The point being to setup an event where National Security would be the word of the day, ie, false flag.

Let's see if we EVER hear from him in his own words or if he hangs himself in his cell.

The Political Education Of Bill de Blasio

"A staff member in de Blasio’s office, alerted that Israel does not exist on the drop-down menu of countries on the airline’s web site, called posing as an Israeli and tried to reserve a flight and was essentially told to get lost."

"That’s an issue for the city, not the State Department, because 'anything that happens in the five boroughs, our human rights laws apply. If they’re going to break our laws against discrimination based on race or national origin they don’t belong in our airports.'"

"A solid pro-Israel gesture from a public official with extensive backing from Jewish donors."

"And if anyone doesn’t like my stance in favor of Israel, they can vote for someone else," de Blasio said.

Bill De Blasio – The Elected King Of The Jews

"Bill de Blasio can add another supporting group to his column. Mayor-Elect de Blasio is the first Democrat to win the Jewish vote since Ed Koch [jew] won his reelection bid in 1985."

"Mrs. Clinton, who is Methodist, 'has very fond childhood memories' of the second husband of her grandmother, Max Rosenberg, a Russian-born Jew, said Howard Wolfson, a spokesman for the first lady's Senate exploratory committee."

"Wolfson said Thursday that he doesn't 'expect it will have an electoral impact, and we don't see it in that context.'"

Well, you certainly got one part right- you're guessing. It must be just the tourists who support all of the arts, museums, parks, theatres, the best collection of restaurants and clubs on the planet, the best music to be heard a mere train-ride away or less, and on and on.  Oh yeah, and lets see how your crowd would do running a mass transit system that transports 20 million-plus riders a day throughout an area covering three state borders, multiple large rivers and a metropolitan population larger than your whole state (Tx, CA and FL excluded).

Some around here are so full of hypocrisy that it squeezes out of your nose every time you blink. DeBlasio ought to be a hero to y'all, listening to how you go on about how big$$ controls everything with its own set opf puppets - here's a guy who built his career from scratch with his own mind and ideas that not only appeal to many millions of his own city, but who has consistently demonstrated that he does what he says he's going to do. You can disagree with the content of his message all you like. The anti-Semitic, racist and reactionary right-wing bullshit you guys come out with (with every other breath) completely exposes you for the throwback pre-Cro-Magnon tribal stupidfucks that you truly are.

I'd think that TV-brain-conditioned old crackers like yourselves, who gave us all so much of this bullshit to deal with in the lost days of your working lives, would have learned by now to be a little nicer to others, or at least polite. You still think you're the only things on earth with a right to any of it, though. What a crock of shit. Keep swimmin' in it, fellas. Your day in the spotlight is sure a'comin'. I can't wait to hear how, ah...the God of Abraham and Jesus, (who supposedly invented us all) is going to look upon the pack of wilfully ignorant, racist, ignorant savages whose ancestors invented tyranny, genocide and lawyers.

And by the way, there's some really good clubs in the Lower East Village y'all might like to visit next time you visit the Apple. Be sure to let everyone know how you feel, alright?

Bill de Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm, Jr. on May 8, 1961 in New York City and grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Shortly after graduating with a bachelor's degree from New York University in 1983, he legally changed his name to Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, adding his mother's maiden name to his identity. In 2002 he changed his name for a second time and became Bill de Blasio.

Historian Ron Radosh describes de Blasio as: (a) "a far left radical whose ancestors are the New Left and the Communists"; and (b) "a bona fide red diaper baby" who, "like many of his generation ... kept his parents' ... pro-Communist politics not far from his heart." Both de Blasio’s parents were far leftists—most likely, members of the Communist Party USA or some of its numerous front groups. His mother, Maria de Blasio, worked in the early 1940s at the Office of War Information—a U.S. government agency staffed largely by pro-Soviet leftists who depicted the USSR in a positive light.

In 1983, while he was still at NYU, Bill de Blasio toured parts of the Communist Soviet Union. This was a period of significant Cold War tension between the United States and the USSR, as the Soviets were attempting to permanently solidify their nuclear superiority over the U.S.  Notably, de Blasio at one time served as an organizer with the anti-nuclear, anti-American organization Physicians for Social Responsibility.

In 1989 de Blasio served as a volunteer coordinator for the NYC mayoral campaign of Democrat David Dinkins. Following Dinkins' victory, de Blasio became an aide in City Hall.

When asked in 1990 to describe his political views, de Blasio replied that he was an advocate of “democratic socialism.” In the mid-nineties, he served as executive director of the New York branch of the New Party, a pro-socialist, ACORN-affiliated entity to which Barack Obama likewise belonged.

He sounds a lot like Ratzel trying to justify Aryan superiority-an effort shown by history to have had truly gruesome and undemocratic results that generated the deaths of almost 200 million people across the globe. No doubt he can get a job with any new fascist, knee-jerk reactionary old-guys' party as the court jester."

You haven't had any "Republican" mayors in recent memory, just a series of Progressive-RINOs. Seriously, Bloomberg a Republican? Only to ride the coattails of another RINO

Yeah you know - when your story fails, just change the names. "Oh, he wasn't really a 'Pooblican. Well, since you're into blaming people because they have different beliefs from yourself, why not go ahead and blame yourselves? "Cuz, Cuz, you just changed what you said you believed. Like any fucking republican in the last 30 years was anything other than a tailcoat-riding whore.

Dumbassery at its maximum. Another proof that amerrrikuns still live with the cold war mentality of the red scare (they's loving being scared 'tseems). To believe De Blasio, or for that matter Obama too, have anything to do with Communism is preposterous. It's just another one of them keywords which make amerrrikuns generate emotional responses while shutting the rational part of their brains off. This is as dumb as Rush Limpballs calling the Pope "marxist". You gotta be kidding me... Jorge Bergoglio a commie? Don't make my ass laugh, please.

No doubt Mayor Fugazio is going to close that income gap between the banksters and everyone else, and he will stop the cash flow from Wall Street to NYC politicians, and it's inherent corruption. You can take that to the bank.

The line between fascism and communism is paper thin; but ZH makes it look like the libertarians see a commie behind every non libertarian politician. THe contempt for State has now eaten you mindsets to the core area of corrupting what civilization's experience calls "tolerance" of the OTHER.

You guys have gone soooo deep into hate and spitting on anything that does not mirror your core "imaginary" and intransigeant values, you are now into debasing the whole procees of debate as meaningless; anarcho capitalism has become a new religion; Talibanic dogma wearing a Stetson and cowboy boots.

Good luck with that ZH!

Why the f*ck don't the Wall St. heavies move elsewhere? With the Internet they don't need to be there anymore. They could live in Bermuda, or Montana, or at least NH.

The job of a city major is to make sure that street pot holes get fixed, the garbage picked up, stray dogs are caught and that the police are effective.

Dear De Blasio's: get a life!!

Yeah - Chris  Christie's ass to the south and west, and the puritan Connecticut Wanksters to the north. You get farted on if you try to escape across the Hudson, and nobody can afford the tolls  to drive through CT. Its why Wall St. hasn't been moved out of the City. Why do you think we have QE? It takes a lot of toilet paper to clean off one of Christie's emmanations.
