New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is rapidly trying to distance himself from the 'deputy chief of staff plotting to create traffic problems' bridge controversy... his full statement (below) can be summed up: ...
"This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way, and people will be held responsible for their actions."
People will indeed be held responsible, with one very prominent exception.
The controversy:
The communications suggest that Christie’s deputy chief of staff and two of his top appointees at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey closed a pair of access lanes from Fort Lee, N.J., onto the George Washington Bridge into New York, causing days of gridlock and mayhem in the Fort Lee area last September.

One more perk is the second they retire, they are hired in another public sector job as some 'security expert' or 'investigator' and collect their pension and an additional 60K-70K (some at even larger salaries) at their new job. Christies pension reform did nothing to alliveiate the double dipping of THOUSANDS of retired law enforcement personnel on the public payrolls.
Check out the scandal with the Lt Gov and how she got her buddy a job where he could collect his pension and a salary, just by changing job descriptions.
The entire law enforcement sector ( which includes lawyers, corrections officers, home land security, etc.) has become a total scam.

It is never "fixed" It acts as it's own private jobs program and yet it always sucks. The dude who made this "traffic call" should've just let the day just run it's course and there would've been about a 90% chance of a minimum 2 hour delay. All the major highways and bridges are the same in that area. 3am or 3pm it makes no difference.
