Live Hearing On Financial Stability And Data Security

Tyler Durden's picture

Moments ago, the Senate Banking Committee started a hearing on the topic of "Financial Stability And Data Security." We assume the topic discussed will be financial stability, the highly diluted final version of the Volcker Rule, Dodd Drank, the London Whale, and other things legislators have no understanding of. As such it will be a complete waste of time, and the only thing that can possibly force anyone to fix the broken system is the next systemic crash, one which the central banks, already all in with their bailout efforts, will be unable to resolve.

The witness list is below:

  • Honorable Mary J. Miller [view testimony]
    Under Secretary for Domestic Finance
    U. S. Department of the Treasury
  • The Honorable Daniel K. Tarullo [view testimony]
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
  • The Honorable Martin J. Gruenberg [view testimony]
    Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
  • The Honorable Thomas J. Curry [view testimony]
    Comptroller of the Currency
Office of the Comptroller of the Currency
  • The Honorable Mary Jo White [view testimony]
    Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Honorable Mark Wetjen [view testimony]
    Acting Chariman
    Commodity Futures Trading Commission

Human history is filled with corruption.  It keeps the system going.  Thieves get rich.  The rest of us starve.  Bastards.

Or better yet, glamorize their shitty selves.

By the way, Mercury is retrograde and for those who don't believe, Rockerfeller quote "Millionaires don't use astrology, billionaires do".

Tread lightly now through the end of the month.

"Data Security" will be found to be lacking.

Guess what happens after that.

On CNN's Newsroom today, at 10:30 AM, Carol Costello had a discussion with CNN's Christine Romans and conservative dimwit talking head Stephen Moore about Sam Zell's comments defending the 1%, saying they work harder.  Zell defended Thomas Perkins, who said that attacks on the 1% are no different than the Nazi attacks on Jewish people in the 1930s.  As someone else said, first they came for the 1%.  No one said a word about how Zell took over the Tribune Company with almost no money down and drove the company into bankruptcy within 18 months.  Nor how he staffed the Tribune Company with his friends at high salaries while he laid off reporters left and right by the hundreds.  Why bring up facts instead of generalities.  Christine Romans mentioned that a CEO she spoke with couldn't find qualified welders to hire. Wow, the American dream, to be a welder and get leukemia by the time you are 55 from exposure to cutting torch gases.  Those well paid talking heads at the Senate Banking Committee meeting above have nothing to fear from the scared and gutless reporters at CNN.  If there were any reporters with nerve around, the Comptroller of the Currency would have to answer questions on how his agency did nothing before and during the 2008 financial collapse, a collapse triggered by the worthless derivatives the OCC allowed to enter the financial markets with no oversight from his agency.
