Ukraine Imposes Limits On Interbank Operations

Tyler Durden's picture

Keep those dominoes steady... steady... and nobody exhale:

  • UKRAINE IMPOSES LIMITS ON SOME INTERBANK FX OPERATIONS
  • UKRAINE TIGHTENS RULES ON COPRORATE FOREIGN-CURRENCY PURCHASES
  • UKRAINE CENTRAL BANK CITES HRYVNIA VOLATILITY ON FX MEASURES

There is of course, good news:

  • UKRAINE CENTRAL BANK SAYS INTERBANK LIMITS ARE TEMPORARY

Just like in Cyprus.

Just like I post the multi decade chart of new single family home sales in housing recovery threads, I am going to start posting a single word to all threads about capital controls and sealing in money at the borders.

BITCOIN.

Get out of the system, now!  Physical gold & CA$H if you do not have them.

EDIT:

As CrashisOptimistic mentions at the top, Bitcoin allows you move capital easily.  A BTC wallet on the blockchain is accessible anywhere in the world where there is an Internet connection.

This isn't Cyprus. It's a country of 45 million people, 80% of which are Ukranian (not Russian - their designation).

Never in my wildest thoughts did I see the shit ball start rolling here. But anywhere can make sense these days.

Seriously, I'd think twice about this. If there's ever any sort of kristallnacht for owners of PM, having it all located in your house is a bad idea. Remember, boats and lakes, while dangerous, can be your friend.

Watching the west poo poo Vlad's olympics, engage in political meddling if not outright funding of Ukraininan activists, and then claim American exceptionalism is a laugh a minute.

Iraq is in a bloody civil war but the MSM is glued to the Justin Bieber story.  LIbya is in pure chaos.   Benghazi, Fast and Furious, and  obamacare are smoldering scandals in the background.  Oh, and let's not forget, ERIC PLACE HOLDER still hasn't gone after one major banking ceo- see CORIZINE, FULD, MOZILLO, THAIN, BLANKFEIN, LEWIS, BLANKFEIN, etc etc etc for securities fraud, market manipulation or money laundering.

Went to see Wild at Heart in the theater in some mid western city back in the early 90s....the crowd fucking hated the movie and many walked out. My girlfriend at the time asked me what the movie was about....after we had seen it....together.

Even if they have the script.....the sheep can not read the damn thing.

Read this fucking line:

"Many CBC members say Obama hasn’t fought hard enough to fill the federal bench with the Democrats’ preferred picks, leaving some states with nominees who lack the ethnic diversity of the population they would oversee".                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  . . . I'll fill in until fonestar arrives. At every airport I went through recently there were large signs about declaring negotiable items above $10,000. This includes gold and silver. Do you trust that it won't be confiscated with the burden of proof on you to demonstrate that what you were carrying came from legal sources and that you had paid the proper taxes on it? If not, then consider walking through a border with a memorized password to a web based bitcoin wallet that you can easily access at your destination. Capital controls and withdrawal limits? Bitcoin users not affected!

Ukraine has 31 tonnes of gold. Most kept in the local Treasury, some on term loans with bullion banks, so presumably 'used to be' in the Bank of England (before being sold by the bullion banks).

The larger por- tion of the monetary gold of the National Bank of Ukraine was kept in the vault of the State Treasury, and the rest was placed as term deposits." Monetary gold is recorded in physical weight in troy ounces and is valued in hryvnias at the official exchange rate of the NBU." And here is an interesting press release this week from the Nantional Bank of Ukraine

"An increase in purchases of bullion coins indicates the growing public interest in long-term investments":

"Last year saw the growing public interest in the bullion coins as a reliable form of long-term savings. In 2013, the National Bank of Ukraine sold 42, 350 pieces of bullion coins directly to individuals, which was 6.89 times more than in 2012."

Ukraine can also be independent, just like Argentina if they decide to be. They can be a better version of Germany because they have more resources.

Why do they need the EU or Russia or even a central bank that throws the people under the bus so as to control them. Squashed people with fresh treadmarks on their foreheads are apparently easier to control.

Ukraine should be forming alliances with Argentina, Iran, and the other disaffected states that have significant resources and human capital.
