4th Financial Services Executive Found Dead; "From Self-Inflicted Nail-Gun Wounds"

Tyler Durden's picture

The ugly rash of financial services executive suicides appears to have spread once again. Following the jumping deaths of 2 London bankers and a former-Fed economist in the US, The Denver Post reports Richard Talley, founder and CEO of American Title, was found dead in his home from self-inflicted wounds - from a nail-gun. Talley's company was under investigation from insurance regulators.

Via The Denver Post,

Richard Talley, 57, and the company he founded in 2001 were under investigation by state insurance regulators at the time of his death late Tuesday, an agency spokesman confirmed Thursday.

It was unclear how long the investigation had been ongoing or its primary focus.

A coroner's spokeswoman Thursday said Talley was found in his garage by a family member who called authorities. They said Talley died from seven or eight self-inflicted wounds from a nail gun fired into his torso and head.

Also unclear is whether Talley's suicide was related to the investigation by the Colorado Division of Insurance, which regulates title companies.

...

A checkered past?

Before coming to Colorado, Talley was a former regional financial officer at Drexel Burnham Lambert in Chicago, where he met his wife, Cheryl, a vice president at the company. The two married in 1989.

Talley had formed a number of companies, some now defunct, according to the Colorado secretary of state's office. Among them: American Escrow, Clear Title, Clear Creek Financial Holdings, Swift Basin, Sumar, American Real Estate Services, and the American Alliance of Real Estate Professionals.

It would appear, unfortunately, that Mr. Talley was not an entirely honest man...

Talley's 1989 wedding announcement in the Chicago Tribune noted he was "a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic swimming team."

A spokeswoman for USA Swimming on Thursday said Talley was not on the team.

Did the Israelites celebrate the fall of Jericho?  Do Jews celebrate the Passover?

You are correct that we are a little too gleeful here, the number one reason being that we are so far away from the action, the number two reason being that we understand the damage the banksters are causing to the rest of the world and will continue to cause to the rest of the world until they are stopped.  The number three reason being a sense of relief that the world isn't so crazy after all - after all these years, the chickens are finally, very slowly, starting to come home to roost.

The most important reason not to cheer the deaths of the last four bankers is that they were probably the ones that were going to testify against TPTB, and here we are acting as if one of the muppets had taken his rightful revenge, but really we are probably cheering yet another success of TPTB - that they can silence the ones that could have brought TPTB to justice.  (Given that they are TPTB, would they really allow justice, even if these guys survive?)  Still, there is a consolation when the monster is forced to start eating itself.  If it can kill parts faster than those parts grow back, we are winning.  The more the monster turns on itself, the less the little people have to suffer.

PT, there's an important distinction between the Old Covenant and New.  The Israelites were brought into existence as a nation and they fought for their survival and they were used to judge other nations whose wickedness has gotten too bad.  God told Abraham when He promised him the land of Israel that the time was not yet.  (Genesis 15:16)  "But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete."  In other words they weren't bad enough yet.

Our turn is coming.  Very soon other nations will be used to punish us (and I don't believe that group of nations will include Israel).  If you want to see God's fingerprints on our financial woes, checkout "The Harbinger" by Jonathan Cahn.  You can also find him on YouTube.  I challenge anyone to give him a read/listen and see if there are not some compelling facts to consider, unless you are too clouded by an "anti-God" bias to consider facts.

It doesn't make me happy to see the country declining, and I get angry at what bankers and TPTB have done and are doing, and there are lots and lots of wicked people all around, but nothing can happen to us except what we bring on ourselves and God allows.  There was a time that I believe God was blessing the nation, because there were righteous people in the country, even though there was a certain percentage of very wicked people in the country. Has any nation in history ever risen so far so fast?  But we are in judgment now.

Jesus brought in the New Covenant, and he never instructed Israelites to kill anyone, but rather to love enemies and pray for them.  Does love = kill?  So I speak as a Christian, and I don't want to rejoice at the death of anyone.  Once we leave the planet, everything changes and perfect justice WILL be executed.  There will be no escape from it. That should make us tremble, because perfect justice will be performed on each of us.  This life is only a test--when it may not be obvious that following God is the better way right now, what will we do?  Can you think of any subject more important than that?  Is the fall of the stock market more important?  Is having a little bit of gold and silver more important than our eternal destiny?  Is it so important to preserve our life on Earth for another year, or to focus on doing what God requires of us and be ready for the next trillion years that is a prelude to the introduction to the beginning of eternity?  Is it a trivial subject where you will be for that time?  Would it be worth doing a little preparation... investigation... taking the subject seriously and finding the right answers?

" but nothing can happen to us except what we bring on ourselves and God allows."

And therein lies a humongous truth.  It is like it is because "We the people" have idly sat by and allowed it. So yes, when the chicken come home to roost we will all be needing nail guns with which to build a shit load of coops in our own back yards.

That being said I'll have to beg forgiveness cause, I have laughed my ass off through out this thread.

"There is no God. There can be no God; it's ridiculous to think in terms of a superior being. An inferior being, maybe, because we, we who don't even exist, we arrange our lives with more order and harmony than God ever arranged the earth. We measure; we plot; we create wonderful new things. We are the architects of our own existence. What a lunatic concept to bow down before a God who slaughters millions of innocent children, slowly and agonizingly starves them to death, beats them, tortures them, rejects them. What folly to even think that we should not insult such a God, damn him, think him out of existence. It is our duty to think God out of existence. It is our duty to insult him. Fuck you, God! Strike me down if you dare, you tyrant, you non-existent fraud! It is the duty of all human beings to think God out of existence. Then we have a future. Because then - and only then - do we take full responsibility for who we are. And that's what you must do, think God out of existence; take responsibility for who you are."

You make some very confident statements.  I'm wondering at what age you suddenly gained the ability to make such determinations.  Were you born knowing that there is no God?  Or did you gain this knowledge at age 3, 5, 15, 25, 35 or 45?  Certainly at that time you must have understood everything else, too.  So can you describe all the molecules in a human body?  How the atoms fit together?  How the electrons spin around the nucleus, and what holds the nucleus (a lot of positively charged particles that should explode) together?  If you can say so confidently that there is no God, you must have an explanation for all these things, and furthermore, you must know where the material came from to be fuel for the "Big Bang" and what brought it together and made it ignite.

So with your apparently infinite wisdom and absolute authority, can you enlighten us on some of these great mysteries that scientists have been struggling with for such a long time?  It sounds like you have it all together, and there is no doubt left in your mind, so please help out the rest of us that are not so sure about this issue.

And I would like to offer you two different cars to trust your life to.  One was produced when a bomb hit a Honda factory.  Out popped this car, and it even jumped into a show room.  (That's certainly not a bigger stretch than the whole universe getting created out of a big bang, right?)  The other car was designed by engineers, assembled using procedures with carefully crafted parts, and tested by the quality department.  Which one would you like to have?

... or, as I like to say:  We think we're so clever because we built a great big factory that builds cars.  But all you need is two horses and you can build more horses.  Who is smarter?  The inventor of the car factory or the inventor of the horse?

Psalm 2

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 Why do the nations ragea
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”

7 I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You shall breakb them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Engineer, you raise very good points, but you do realize that the only real act of violence that Jesus committed in the Bible was when he drove the money changers from the temple. That was righteous anger. Today's bankers are much worse than money changers.

SDShack, thank you for that. I have no problem with a little bit of righteous anger, or even A LOT of righteous anger. There are plenty of things at which we should be angry, and the Bible even says (Ephesians 4:26) "BE ANGRY, AND DO NOT SIN": do not let the sun go down on your wrath... In other words, get angry at the right kind of thing, but don't let it overwhelm you. Get over it and calm down. Don't go to bed angry. Give it to God, because as it says "(Hebrew 10:30) For we know Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. And again, "THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE." When the Lord repays someone for evil, He does it quite well. As the Creator, He has the right perspective.

But note that Jesus did not KILL the money changers--He PUNISHED them. And I'm sure He would have been quite happy to talk to them later outside the temple if they were truly sorry. I'm not against being angry at bankers for what they do, and everyone else for what THEY do.

NAIL GUN SAFETY

Recently, three injury reports described the details of accidents that occurred while employees were using pneumatic nail guns.

One injury resulted in an employee shooting himself through the thigh. The nail was a Ring Shank and it embedded itself in the employee's femur (large thigh bone) which was shattered by the impact. Surgery was required to remove the nail.

Another case involved an employee who shot himself in the groin area.

In the third case, an employee injected a nail into the fleshy part of his thigh.

All three investigations revealed that the nail gun safety spring, which holds the nose guard in the extended position, was not in place. This allowed the gun to discharge when the trigger was depressed because the nose guard was easily slid back when the gun was placed against the worker. The nose guard being depressed is like cocking a gun. Pulling the trigger with the gun "cocked" will fire it.

A nail gun is not designed for rapid fire. Trying to alter the rate of fire by removing the safety spring or keeping the trigger depressed will eventually end up in a jammed gun, or worse yet, accidents like those described above.

General Safety Rules for Nail Gun Use:

1. Never use a nail gun with the nose guard safety spring missing.

2. Be sure that when you carry a nail gun out of the work area, you do not carry it connected to the electrical or air power source.

3. When you are moving about the work area - keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire. Make sure you have only placed the nose guard against the material you are going to nail together.

4. Never rest the gun against any part of your body, or try to climb a ladder with the gun cradled against your body.

5. Remember that a nail gun is a labor and time saving tool -- but it cannot save the time lost to an accident. Use it safely!!!

You're definitely on the right track here, but you're not thinking big enough. Think of the HUD (referencing my other post about Catherine Austin Fitts) as a great big money laundering machine, washing money between corporate and government actors (using a host of standard FIRE tools like insurance, loan guarantees, grants, tax shelters, etc.) – and you'll realize this shit is MUCH bigger than just real estate. You've also got drug cartels, insurance and re-insurance companies, banks, local/state/federal politicians, government agencies, law enforcement, construction corps/developers, law and lobbying firms, and a whole host of related industries (as you mentioned), ALL INVOLVED IN THIS SCHEME. In the link in my other post, Fitts makes the point that Wall Street, the stock market, and literally the entire economy would collapse overnight without a steady flow of drug money entering the system. Think about that for a minute. It's all connected. Fraud and drug cash ARE the economy!

I'm wondering if this fella, in his role as Colorado's primary HUD cutout, simply had too much information on money inflows/outflows, information that could expose the workings of the entire machine to a savvy investigator. What's really fascinating is that Fitts even mentions that fabricated mortgages and fraudulent mortgage securities are one method by which money is effectively laundered between government and private entities. Is it entirely far fetched to speculate, then, that the Fed's QE – whereby it purchases sour mortgage-backed securities from TBTF banks' balance sheets – is essentially just a retooled washing process made necessary because the insolvent banks could no longer generate any more fake mortgage paper? Food for thought.

No banker suicides yet and counting. All probably suicided
for what we can see. But that mean mode of good riddance
on this site is premature before we hit the one hundred thousand mark, save your lower instincts for final pay day.

He seemed like a small potatoes business man with several failed businesses in his past.  He offed himself in the garage of his modest suburban home.

I know you hate bankers, I do too, but he doesn't seem to fit the profile.  The people we all hate, the ones destroying our world, they feel no remorse and don't kill themselves.  The Mail carried the story, complete with a pic of his house and his wife of 25 years.  RIP

Not necessarily. His company acted as closing agent for all HUD commercial foreclosures in Colorado... HUD is one of the dirtiest organizations going – it's literally a gigantic front/slush fund for government-sponsored drug trafficking, real estate/banking/securities fraud, and money laundering on a massive scale. If you've never heard of Catherine Austin Fitts – former HUD Asst. Secretary – I highly recommend you brush up on her story. It might shed some light on what Mr. Talley was actually up to... hers is a story of how money REALLY works:

http://www.ratical.org/co-globalize/CAFmrl.html#p5

If you follow this link closely, you'll note that Colorado is specifically mentioned as one of two regions in which HUD-insured mortgages generated 100% OF HUD LOSSES during the S&L/HUD scandals of the late '80s (it's in the section titled "A Word About Place Based Financial Disclosure.") Methinks there's an awfully deep rabbit hole here...

That is one nasty rabbit hole.

Remember David Kellerman from FHLMC? Mr. Kellermann was found hanging by the neck in the basement of his posh Vienna, VA home in the affluent suburb of Washington. D.C. way back in April of 2009. It is presumed he had no help and local police have stated there was no evidence of foul play.

In other news..."On Thursday the eighth former employee of SAC Capital was convicted of insider trading. Mathew Martoma was found guilty of using inside information to recommend that SAC Capital sell shares in a pharmaceutical company. He faces up to 10 years in prison if the conviction stands.

But the man behind the firm that bares his initials – Steven A Cohen – is alive, free, and phenomenally wealthy with a $9.4 billion net worth. A fortune Cohen amassed via SAC Capital and its criminal practices.

Get real, will ya? Seven or eight nails?Who could stand that much pain? Sounds a bit like Opus Dei with the banker hanging under Blackfriars bridge in London.Or Robert Maxwell drowning off his boat in the Azores but autopsy and burial in Israel. This is getting too weird.Markets about to tank?  Margin calls on all those paper gold shorts?

I remember when the Russians were taking out the English Physicist elite, who were taking money for research on the starwars systems. One fellow "suicided" by sticking his tongue in a lamp socket.Another stopped for dinner on the way home.Came out and somebody had swapped his tires for greased banana skins on his jag.Single car accident,no witnesses.

And then we had the young journalist in LA whose Mercedes ran into a tree and exploded.Hmmm......

I use a nail gun all the time in construction -- the fucking thing is nasty violent. I'm pretty sure the pain from the first hit by a framing nail would probably cause a person to pass out on the spot.

Eight nails? Sure sounds like murder to me.

Of course, he might have been tweeking high on meth. Then maybe yeah. You just keep nailing yourself until you hit something vital.

Yup. I have a Hitachi that'll sink a 3-1/4" ring shank to the hilt in a PT 4X4.  I can't imagine how bad it would hurt to get pegged with that thing. One shot to the head  without a nail would knock you out cold and probably fracture your skull.

Over the years I've heard of all manner of dipshits accidentally shooting nails into their thighs and heads, etc. - but I've NEVER heard of  anybody shooting themselves more than once - let alone 7-8 times.  JFC.

BTW -  I'd love to see if the gun was set-up they way roofers usually do - so you can hold the trigger down and just bang the safety to shoot nails - or if it was one of the newer "lawyer friendly" versions where you have to release the trigger to reset the mechanism.

Mine does both, but you have to whack it pretty solidly against the safety lever to get it to fire.

Hmm.  What kind do you have?  I'm pretty sure my Hitachi came set up so it can only shoot a single nail for each trigger pull and that you had to open it up and pull/adjust something to get it so you can bang rows.  I could be mistaken however.

As I explained in Chapter Four, that experience taught me the difference between fear and pain. While driving a nail thru my leg was certainly painful the fear of the unknown, of seeing the nail in my leg and fearing what was going to happen, induced a positive feedback loop of pain creating more fear creating more pain etc. Once I recognized what was going on and practiced removing the fear from my mind the pain was quite manageable. Excellent life lesson I try to remember to this day.
