Boehner Keeps On Folding: Now Proposes Clean Debt Ceiling Bill
A week ago, we reported that unlike on previous occasions, this time Boehner decided to fold like a lawn chair early in this year's debt ceiling hike debate, and sure enough moments ago Politico confirmed as much when it reported that "House Republicans are abandoning their plan to lift the debt limit and restore military pension cuts due to flagging support from the rank and file. The announcement was made Tuesday morning in a private GOP meeting." As we also predicted, Politico adds that "now, the GOP will have to pass a so-called clean lift of the debt ceiling — one without policy strings attached. But even that won’t be easy. Senior Republican lawmakers and aides are openly wondering just how many of their members will vote for a clean debt ceiling — Democrats will have to bear the brunt of passing the bill, GOP insiders say." And the punchline for the vote, which is set for Wednesday, "Senior GOP sources wonder if they’ll be able to get 18 Republicans to vote for a debt ceiling increase — the bare minimum for passage if every Democrat votes yes."
To summarize: the GOP may have trouble being more Democrat than the Democrats.
In other news, perhaps it is about time for the GOP to eliminate any pretense of "fiscal conservatism" and finally do away with the debt ceiling farce entirely so they can at least show their voters what their true colors really are.

There is no "fix", they collectively have us in such a deep hole financially that there is no way back. Anything the GOP passes will not make the economy better and will likely make things worse. The more they cut budget spending the faster the decline in tax receipts and increase in social spending applications from layoffs.
Nothing is going to work, the malinvestment is so great and the gov't is so big that there is no way back. This is going to be the biggest world-wide bust in history. If "they" meaning the banking cabal doesn't have a plan "B" that implements a system to keep commerce going while austerity and gov't shutdowns commence, millions will starve. Prepare accordingly.
That is currently my biggest fear: that they don't have a decent plan B. By "decent" I mean a plan that doesn't include fascism at the top, Fema camps, Detroit-style "Nacht und Nebel" house to house searches by men in black uniforms, armed to the teeth. And I don't mean "Diktats" from the EU-bureaucracy either, with bail-ins and financial repression for all.
You know, most of us used to laugh with the likes of Chavez, Maduro and Kirchner, but just take a good, hard look at "you didn't build that'-Obama or the "We don't care if Greece dies as long as it continues to strangle itself to save our banks'-European Union.

Judge Nap kicks ass! Fuck Fox Business for caving in and cancelling his show "Freedom Watch". I stopped watching both Fox channels after they caved into the White House and dropped that show. I'm surprised Judge Nap even appears on Fox anymore as an anylyst, but they don't let him speak the way he used to when he had that show. Fox may still crush everyone else in the ratings, but their viewership numbers started the long decline after they cancelled Freedom Watch.
I was supprised that The Blaze did not pick him up for a similar show.

I propose that things are getting so dicey for the dollar that even the slightest fight about anything, including the debt ceiling will cause a currency collapse. I don't think we will be hearing much about debt limits or anything ever again. The markets must stay green and interest rates must stay low, otherwise boom. Boner is providing cover.

Well, the democrats passed a huge porkulus "budget" in 2008 with no Repub votes when they controlled both houses and locked in permanently higher budgets across-the-board. So, now they get to approve the debt required to fund these programs-including the worst one-Obamacare. They own this mess. So, this is the only "fair" approach, allow a clean vote. Then voters know who to eliminate in the 2014 election cycle. Let the attack ads begin!
It would be amusing if the bill fails on the first vote (like TARP did due to no votes from the repubs). Then they can vote on it again and again until they can bribe about 18 votes away (like they did with TARP in 2008). Never-the-less, it will be clear who authorized all the excess spending in 2008 which placed the US in the current position.
Next step, replace Boehner with someone with a some backbone. Getting along is way overrated.
