Despite "Absolute Calm" Claim, Venezuela Appears Just A Little Out Of Control
President Maduro and his ministers have stated (fully supported by Argentina):

- *ARGENTINA SAYS IT FIRMLY SUPPORTS VENEZUELA'S GOVERNMENT
However, between armed groups reportedly firing shots (see clip below) into the Students Assembly and the disappearance of the protest leader, the protests appear to be anything but "calm."

DaddyO, watched the youtube video. I think the last 15 seconds somes up the emotion that many of us feel. Moreover, the last 15 seconds could be applied to almost all nations at this point. I think our greatest weapon is our passion to restore. It is an American passion as much as it is a human/global passion.

Doesn't seem organized well enough. Same as everywhere else. Unless a strong alternative leadership emerges and stands upfront, well armed and respected against the current regimes, this is not going anywhere. Sorry, just anger and frustration on the run aren't enough. The youth needs to be molded by older spirited revolutionaries. Guidance from their parent's generation is much needed.
Their parents drank the koolaid. Grandparents are where they need to go, and they're about to kick the bucket.
And the sad, almost mystifying fact is that the parents continue to embrace socialism.
I've given it quite a bit of thought and would put forth the notion that here in the states, the Boomers want to make sure they continue to get theirs.

The courage of the people on the streets of Venezuela contrasts dramatically with the corwardly acquiescence of people in the US to a government that in many ways is far more totalitarian than anything in Latin America's worst nightmares. Maybe its just that the US government isn't actively shooting at us yet - but I think its more than that. Millions of families have been thrown out of their homes by agents of the US government (AKA banks) and told to go live under highway overpasses in cardboard cities and not one government or bank building is burning. Millions of our children are being rendered brain dead by a combination of poisoned food, poisoned water, poisoned air, poisonous "education" and poisonous 'medicines' - all with either tacit or active government involvement - but not one politician or bureaucrat is hanging from a lamppost. Our police have been turned into an army of occupation that has been completely corrupted and brainwashed into believing that citizens are the enemy, and they are being equipped with weapons of war - yet millions of idiot sheep drive around in their cars with "I support The Police" bumper stickers.
What will it take?
Running out of toilet paper and/or lottery tickets.
Putting an end to the mass poisoning would help. I'd wager that a mass tainted by bizarre endocrine disruptors like bisphenol A and triclosan is less likely to take to the streets.
