Turkish Opposition Leader Says More Erdogan Evidence To Come, Urges Prime Minister To "Flee The Country"

Tyler Durden's picture

As we predicted, the scandal surrounding yesterday's leaked recording of Turkish PM Erdogan urging his son to hide massive amounts of money, is about to get worse. Because not only was the government caught lying, again, after the authenticity of the tape has been confirmed, but now it appears that even more evidence is forthcoming. So much so, that the main opposition leader is urging Erdogan to get on a helicopter and "flee."

The headline soundbites:

On Twitter:

And in Ankara:

Looks like the EM crisis is creeping back. Keep an eye on the Turkish Lira - the Turkish central bank may have its hands full keeping a bid in there.

telling Mr. Erdogan ahead of time whats coming....

what a nice guy ... well, only in old Ottoman empire they made them like that.

Things that go bump's picture

In the Ottoman empire, the first act of a new sultan was to have all his brothers killed to ensure he had no rivals conspiring against him and all of his father's harem (with the exception of his mother) bagged up and thrown alive into the Bosphorus like unwanted kittens. They were a nice bunch.

When will Chucky Schumer yell at Chairman Yellen to "Get to Work"? There are too many Bankster-Kelptocrat marriages on the verge of messy divorce.

Escapedgoat's picture

Doncha know he got converted to Catholisism and was met by the Former Pope (He is still alive) and no doubt he is FORGIVEN .

NO HELL for him as it stands.

The taper has f*cked the world. Imagine whats going to happed if QE is fully removed?

Tasty Sandwich's picture

They had to at least pretend they could stop.

Bernanke can say that things were winding down when he left and that things were getting better.

skwid vacuous's picture

Young turks are growing restless, but what do the Zio-cons want here?

on a related note, ex-con Bernard Kerik was on Faux News last night giving foreign policy advice ... truly a bizarro-world moment

These are the beginnings of inter-NWO personal vendettas carried out in the open. Erdogan must be one of its staunchest paladins, but still gets stabbed in the back.

Meanwhile the engineered revolutions will be making their next stops in Belarus, Russia, Hungary, Poland and Kazakhstan.

TheReplacement's picture

No.  Not NWO.  Is me, Putin.  You put my corrupt guy in Ukraine out of business, I put your corrupt guy in Turkey out of business.  Is business, not personal.

What do you mean, I can only click the green arrow once?

Faux news is no different than any other so called news source. Hell maria b is now on the business channel at 9 am.roating shills on mainsteam networks.

Ghordius's picture

I beg to differ. FOX is special, under the "newsies". it is a pioneer in "let's report what we think our target audience wants to hear". give credit where due

valley chick's picture

Stupid people none the less.

earnyermoney's picture

Special? Hardly as they're following the same template as the other news outlest who report what progressives/liberals want to hear.

skwid vacuous's picture

looks like debbie downer Zio troll is back

magpie's picture

Maybe he called Ben Bernanke at midnight and asked him not to taper, who knows.

smithcreek's picture

WTF is #Wow! that washington post guy added to his tweet? I've asked a couple people what the fuck a twitter # is and no one can give me a good answer. I clicked on it expecting to see more news about the situation in Turkey and it was a list of completely unrelated, uninteresting, meaningless twitter twats who happened to add a #wow to their tweet. "I'm turning 18 today! #wow!"  Did that stupid fucking writer really want his breaking news on Turkey to be lumped in with some completely inane, self absorbed twitter twat like "Hate it when you think you know someone, and then they turn out to be someone completely different, like what's just happened?! What a fucking useless piece of shit twitter is.

ThirdWorldDude's picture

Things that make you go hmmmm... such as whether those that tapped Erdogan's phone are the same ones that tapped Vicky Nudelman's "Fuck the EU" conversation?

Urban Redneck's picture

A helicopter won't get him very far, but the USS Taylor should still be in port in Samsun and available after that evil terrorist sandbar attacked it.

ThirdWorldDude's picture

He could run away to Greece and change his name into Venizelos or Papandreu or something... I've heard it guarantees an instant success.

Escapedgoat's picture

I think Papandreou is dirty word these days.

Venizelos is taken by the current holder Formerly known as Turkoglu.

Maybe, Kapodistrias, Formerly a Russian Foreign Minister and then Governor of Greece. I think it is still available.

JDFX's picture

All politicians should have regular psychological testing to ensure they have mental / emotional well being that passes them fit to hold positions of public trust and responsibility.

A warning sign is people wanting to rule in the first place.

Tasty Sandwich's picture

Wouldn't the people conducting the tests just become corrupt then?

You know, pass me and I'll pay you back once in office...

Dwight D. Eisenhower summed it up best when he said, "Any man who wants to be president is either an egomaniac or crazy."

Tasty Sandwich's picture

Politicians are politicians.  They haven't changed.

The problem is that most people seem to like having rulers and leaders.  They like to think that someone is in charge and can fix things.  FDR is a good example of that.  Whether or not his programs were fixing things didn't matter - that he was promising to fix things and doing things in the name of fixing things did.

The Federal government was originally fairly irrelevant and so was the president, but the people allowed it and the executive to grow more and more powerful.

Roman Empire, British Empire, American Empire - nothing new under the sun.

Hephaestus's picture

Does anyone else remember the good ol days 2007 or so when all we were afraid of was a severe recession? Skip forward just seven years and the US in now standing on Putin's front porch daring him to make a move and start WWIII.

If Putin some how wins we lose.

If we win WE LOSE.

He will push master reset button and reboot the planet. Im not sure I could blame him either. It does seem more appealing than living in some banksters world wide technocratic prison. Fuck the Bankers. There should be some kind of Army SF team just for the bastards.

This is INSANE

Im pickin up the phone now and Im gonna call every Senator and every congress critter and get on the no fly list. I will not stand by and do nothing.

Mad_max's picture

"He will push master reset button and reboot the planet."

Snake Pliskin stlye.

They should all have lie detectors, attached to tasers, activated by a lie.

youngman's picture

We not only saved our Bankers with billions of dollars in bailouts..we have made many corrupt politicians in EMs rich with our QE....nice job central bankers...this Turkey guy is talking about hiding a billion dollars....thats quite a bit of stealing from your country...I guess the salary just wasnt enough

kenezen's picture

Erdogan and the Gulenists should go and a Secular Government not so Sunni weighted should appear to match the secular feelings of the electorate. At least the military did reflect the people's secular preference and not various forms of Sharia and Sunni weighting that Erdogan applies.

Fred123's picture

Now if China would turn down hard and a tape comes out about their stealing.....well, even Mao couldn't stop the lynchings.

Frostfan1's picture

As a resident zionist, trust me when I say we won't be shedding too many tears when Erdogan departs.  I might even break open one of my finest bottles of Manischevitz :)  sarcasm.

Boxed Merlot's picture

break open one of my finest bottles of Manischevitz :)...

They really ought to look into boxing the stuff.  No deposit, no return.

Beware the Evidences of March!

Erdogan - use a jet - forget the helicopter thing - see Ceaucescu - you may find that under "Romanian Term Limits"

Erdogan, a big friend of Obama's, apparently the first person he called after he was elected president.

How many footballs did the CIA throw this cocksuckers way? Had to have been for his valuable torturing services didn't it? Why do you suppose his opposition is telling him to flee? The answer is no different than why Assbama and Fatcuntlosi said there would be no prosecution of the former regime right here.
