The Russians seized weapons in the Ukrainian part of Belbek, used grenades svitloshumovi
Monday, March 3, 2014, 00:26

Russian military use svitloshumovi grenades seized nearly all the buildings of the Ukrainian military in 4515 Belbek.

This "Ukrainian Truth" told the soldiers mouths protection of the 4515 Roman Coast.

"The Russians came here three days ago. Initially they took the house where room service delegation, which flew Yanukovych and others. Following day took the room where our planes were then surrounded by a guard," - he said.

"Today, the Russians stormed the guard, throwing grenades svitloshumovi. Initially told to hand over weapons. Karaul refused. Began the evening svitloshumovymy throw grenades. We are not answered because there is no order from above," - he added.

"They took away the weapon. We did not have the order set to. We did not respond to provocation. Passed the guard, handed warehouses", - said the Coast.

"As of right now, they occupied almost the entire part. Was only an administrative building and a flag. Behold, we have now protects. Took the defense," - he said.

Thus Coastal pointed out that the commander of the part and the whole are ready to fight.

But reports seem confused at best...

Exactly, they are acting tough but when Russia forces their hand the Ukranian via the Americans sober up and think about what they may start and back down.  Russia knows one thing that the US either forgot or a fool is leading them and don't know, and that is they aren't going to go to war over WEST Ukraine.

Buck, I agree, nobody should go to war over West Ukraine. West Ukraine made this revolution with CIA backing. This did reflect in some way the will of the West Ukrainian people. Thus, I think West Ukraine has itself detached itself from Ukraine proper and is an independent entity now, backed by NATO. So I support them entering EU and NATO. Nobody should war over West Ukraine. The other parts, that had no part in the revolution is where the trouble lies.

It is this simple, the West Ukraine and CIA made a revolution and won Kiev. Using this place and claiming to be a government, they are trying to force all of Ukraine to obey the orders of the unelected pro western Revolutionary government. It is exactally this point that is bringing on war. The East/South/Cimea NEVER accepted this localized Kiev CIA backed revolution. The USA hoped that by taking Kiev, they had taken command of all Ukraine, Listen to USA cry over territorial integrity of Ukraine now that they hold Kiev.

This revolution is not in control of Pro Russian Ukrainian areas, this is where the conflict is. Putin is surely smart enough to see what  the EU and USA have tried to do. Take one city, Kiev, and proclaim complete power and control over Ukraine to allow a NATO occupation of unwilling East/South/Crimea. THIS is JUST what Putin and Russia WILL not allow to happen. That is why Russian troops are on the move, this little gambit is transparent to all but CNN. Russia will go to war before they let a little CIA power grab in Kiev give NATO control over all of Ukraine.

If Putin was so stupid as to obey Kerry and Obama, he would truely be insane. As usual, most American people believe they, as Americans, have the right and power to decide this issue as they see fit.

Great analysis Jack, perhaps the out of touch Euros thought that if they played Yanukovich in bad light and had Kiev the capital in their hands as you said, they could pull it off.  They didn't realize that there is no love to be had for the stooges they are fronting for the New Ukraine either.  Everyone around the world and Ukraine has seen the video clip of Yulia Tymoshenko faking the illness in the jail cell, and her shady dealings to enrich her family like other politicians. How about Nuland's top down democracy for the people where she picks who will be the government (not unlike what is done here for us in the USA).  The USA and Euros are stumbling badly and that always happens when deep down inside you realize you are not the GOOD GUY anymore.  Ultimately everyone goes with family because blood is thicker than water.  The West Ukrainians may go back to their catholic polish roots.  But the Eastern Orthodox will be less willing to take a ride with the Brussels train when they realize that not only is blood thicker than water but so is OIL, and the Euros have none, and all the gas Kerry is putting out wouldnt light a match, and the world is wisening up to worthless paper with big numbers printed on it coming in Euro and dollar denominations.  And Russia has a marketplace for their goods, whereas Brussels would just close down their factories.  The actions of the West show just how desperate they are to accomplish this dream of theirs, regime change, to the detriment of all the Values written in their Constitutions.  The world is watching the Western world and shaking their heads.  Putin is one smart guy, he is giving our 'chosen for us' leaders every possible chance to make themselves the fools that they really are.

Good call Winston. I think you have hit on the real forgotten issue. Ukraine is bankrupt and in economic collapse. They need 35 billion US dollars just to remain a state. Not to have an economic recovery, they need it just to remain a viable nation that can pay it's army and it's civilian work forces. Ukraine, expecially the West is in total economic collapse. That is the real issue. You are right, Russia need do nothing, apart from Crimea, and to preotect Ethinc Russians in Ukraine. The west can't solve Ukrainian economc problems. Look at the EU, they are sinking into a debt default themselves. Unemployemnt is rampant, yet they are expected to save Ukraine!

"These Russian's seem to be slightly better armed and trained than Al Qeada and the Taliban. "

-----------

But this is not the most important thing . The main thing is that the Russian here on both sides. Among the military of Ukraine , 60 % ethnic Russian . Among the Russian military , 30% of ethnic Ukrainians . None of them wants to shoot their compatriots.
Therefore , during the storming of buildings have not dead casualties among the attackers and defenders. Therefore Russian military used to capture the building only light - noise grenades, but not the real grenades . Nobody used the weapon to kill.
Because Russians and Ukrainians - is the one nation that was divided artificially.
But western Ukrainians - is another nation . It is the Poles, whom Stalin via force attached to the USSR , together with their Polish lands . L'viv - is a former Polish city . 5 years I'm talking about what need to return back to the Poles, of their land and their people. But the authorities of Ukraine have always been strongly against such a move . I very much hope that Putin will return back the land to the Poles.
- The population of the western regions of Ukraine - is the Poles . They are was attached to the Ukraine by force. But they want to be together with Poland.
- The population of the eastern regions of Ukraine - is Russians. They are was attached to the Ukraine by force. But they want to be together with Russia .

Need to do as he wants the population of these regions. We also need to be held in Kiev free referendum so that people can choose the way for Kiev - to Poland or to Russia . ( This is my personal opinion).

Interesting question, since Russia's pipelines to Europe run thru the Ukraine, especially the Western half.

From what I can gather, there are three active groups within the Ukraine: 1) the "moderates" who were being paid-off/backstopped by the EU/Israel/DC US. 2)The "nationalists" in the Western half. And 3) the pro-Russian activists in the East and Crimea.

Russia will take the Crimea and then probably have to make a deal with the "nationalists" in the West for power over the rest to assure their pipelines are good to go.

Just my 1913 two cents.

Historically true? It all depends on perspective, which cherry do you want to pick - Crimea has belonged to the Crimean Khanate, Byzanthium, a few Italian city-states, Kievan Russia etc. ad nauseum.

Instead, why don't you focus on current facts - what's the dominant population of Crimea today and what do they themselves declare to be?

Bitch puh-lease, Crimea has been populated with Russians in the last 150 years. It's true Crimean Tatars were collectively displaced to Central Asia as a punishment for all the atrocities they committed against Christians (last time during WW2 when they fought on the Nazi's side), but Tatars have been allowed to return to Crimea after the fall of Soviet Russia.

You look like you need to take evening classes at Zbig's school...

South Ukraine - is a former Russian land, where in the times of Stalin, lived for more than 70% Russians.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpDyt6PlCJs
http://www.liveinternet.ru/users/3948302/post315203230/

That there was a famine from which people died. But among those who died from hunger, 70% - it was the Russian people, but not Ukrainians.

Because Stalin never struggled with the Ukrainians. Stalin fought with the class of prosperous peasants. He destroyed this class of the population, regardless of nationality or place of residence. Therefore, the famine was not only in Ukraine (in the former Russian territories with of the Russian population), but in the Russian Volga too.

Myth that Stalin destroyed Ukrainians was needs the West for to share two close relatives population and then conquer them.

Before you call someone an idiot, check: whether you are an idiot who does not know the real history and lives in captivity of the illusions of propaganda from faux news.

That is not the issue.  What Vlad is doing is cutting off/isolating greater Ukraine, control the peninsula and Black Sea you control Ukraine's import/exports, sea access.  Very much a blunt Stalinist move, and Vlad is playing it to a T.  Ukraine then can cut it's wheat exports to Russia, Russia gets slammed with sanctions then turns off the oil tap to the West/Europe.  You'll see grain/corn and oil prices start to spike.  If Vlad then decides to invade greater Ukraine,  he will need more than 6000 men.

Assuming the US stays out of this, we may get the Russians to burn a lot of resources to quell a problem they need never have had to let get so out of hand...

You know, Obama will keep his distance but lean heavily on the UK, EU, NATO and UN etc.  Vlad k'oed Obama with Syria, but  Obama can play this with sanctions.  Now the problem is Putin, he is boxed in, Russia gets sanctions it effects them significantly, trade embargo's and sanctions are enforced and Vlad cuts the oil -  will hurt Russia a lot more, they are paranoid of Rouble devaluation.  I urge you to look up the 1998 Rouble crisis.  It still resonates today, so can you imagine the Russian billionaires, mostly in the UK, starting to see their portfolios decline rabidly.

There was this silly event about 150 years ago.  It was called the Crimean War.  It pitted France, Britain and the Ottoman Empire against Russia.   The Russian navy in the Black Sea was destroyed.  Had a big influence on the region's subsequent development and politics.

Over one million men died in that "silly event." For those of you counting, that's nearly twice as many as died in the American Civil War. Also, the war aim of the British was to lock the Russian Empire in (no warm water port with access to the Med). Sound familiar?

I remember playing Soviet Strike on PS1.

First level was in Crimea.  Seeing that name lately has brought the game to mind.

The end of the Soviet Union leaves a power vacuum in Eastern Europe that former KGB Chairman Uri Vatsiznov, AKA the Shadowman, is willing to exploit for his own ends. In the first mission, which takes place in the Crimea, the player must rescue a captured spy named Nick Arnold to retrieve intelligence on the game's antagonist. The second level is set in the Sea of Azov: the player must battle the elements of the Black Sea Fleet which is preparing to invade Europe. The mission also involves the rescue of guerrilla fighter Amad.

It was a good game.

Then, of course, there was the conference at Yalta, in the Crimea, after WWII.  This is where Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin divided up Europe, turning Poland, the Baltic States, Hungary, Romania, etc. etc. over to the USSR for the next 40 years.   Crimea has a fascinating history.  It's also been a flashpoint.

Where are all the great Western Ukraine armies the Neo Nazis are pushing around their war map?  I keep hearing the Overthrowers of the Ukraine democracy barking out mad commands like Hitler in his bunker in the last few days sending commands to imaginary army groups LOL

This is a strange replay of WW2 when the Russians were fighting the Germans and Kiev was changing hands literally overnight.  I hope the Russians this time don't stop at Berlin but GO ALL THE WAY TO BRUSSELS and finish off the matter once and for all.

No, it doesn't.  It might be run by jews, but it doesn't say that at the top.

The Y.K.P.A.I.H....c.b.k.a. translates

to U.K.R.A.I.N....s.".k.a.

Please don't fool those who don't read cyrilic.  It just says Ukrainska Pravda.

Y makes an (u) or (oo) sound.

P makes an (r) sound

H makes an (n) sound

C is an obvious (s)

The Pi symbol is a (p) sound  the B is a (v) sound.

Everything else is pretty much a cognate.

Interesting to note that the UA forces, whose Belbek base and weapons were seized by RF forces, didn't fire back because "they hadn't received the order from above to do so". Although the troops claim to be "ready and willing to fight".

Yet only days ago the UA defense minister declared that forces were to fire back if attacked by RF. Doesn't this grab of a strategic installation by RF forces qualify as an 'attack'? If UA forces in ARC are not fighting back, why?

Meanwhile RF forces seem to be in the habit of forwarning UA forces in ARC about what they are going to seize next, then conducting it mostly with polite conversation.

All the top authority figures in ARC have declared the regime in Kiev illegitimate and have de facto declared Crimea to be a sovereign state, although de jure they still recognise Yanik (remember him?). Those who didn't support the move got purged. All of this was organised seemingly in days, with the full support of the people, and without a shot being fired or a bond payment being missed.

Meanwhile over in Luhansk today the regional administration has likewise declared the regime in Kiev to be "illegitimate".

Still wondering what Yats' master plan is really.

Ukraine soldiers are probably making individual or small group decisions. not necessarilly surrendering but not fighting iether. Waiting for further moves is my guess. They don't have a fight with Russians.
