Ukraine's New Navy Head Denis Berezovsky Defects After Just One Day On The Post

Tyler Durden's picture

Overnight, there had been numerous rumors that the newly appointed chief of the Ukraine navy, who was just made head of the navy on Saturday, had defected to the Crimean people explicitly, and to pro-Russian forced in the region implicitly. The sourcing of most were various Russian outlets so we discounted these until we got confirmation from a "western" source. The BBC did just that moments ago.

New head of Ukraine's navy 'defects' in Crimea

The newly appointed head of Ukraine's navy has sworn allegiance to the Crimea region, in the presence of its unrecognised pro-Russian leader.

Rear Admiral Denis Berezovsky was only made head of the navy on Saturday, as the government in Kiev reacted to the threat of Russian invasion.

Russia's troops have been consolidating their hold on Crimea, which is home to its Black Sea Fleet.

The moment of defection allegedly caught on digital media:

The move is not entirely unexpected: while the US may not have many issues with facing the Russian navy head on as it did last summer in the Mediterranean over Syria, others are not quite as excited with being on the receiving end of the Russian military juggernaut.

So if this has been confirmed, the rest of the news reported earlier by RIA is also true. To wit:

Ukraine’s autonomous region of Crimea confirmed Sunday that the majority of Ukrainian military units stationed on the Crimean peninsula have expressed their support of legitimately elected Pro-Russian authorities.

Earlier reports by Russian media about peaceful takeover of the military units by forces loyal to the Crimean government were denied by the Ukrainian defense ministry.

However, Crimean authorities said that most of the Ukrainian units sided on Sunday with pro-Russian forces “without a single shot fired,” and warned the commanders of a few units that remain loyal to Kiev that they would face criminal action if refused to surrender.

“I would like to warn commanders who force their subordinates to commit illegal actions that they will be punished according to existing laws,” Crimea’s Prime Minister Sergei Aksenov said in a statement.

The Crimean government said earlier that some 10 warships from the Ukrainian navy left their naval base in Sevastopol apparently on orders from Kiev.

Crimea is now at the center of the ongoing crisis in the country as pro-Russia groups move to distance themselves from a reformed national parliament that ousted President Viktor Yanukovych a week ago.

The map below is said to summarize all the Ukraine cities where the Russian flag has already been hoisted.

If anything, these bloodless victories will only embolden Russia to press on: hardly the resolution the west would like. Perhaps that explains why early unofficial quotes of the Russian Ruble see the currency dropping as much as 10%.

I can see the conversation between two navy officers Boris from Ukraine and Vlad from Russia over the phone:

Boris: hey vlad been a while since the academy buddy how are you

Vlad: Great just set up my dacha in the countryside for the summer how bout you?

Boris: oh just living with my wife and little son and my parents and her parents in a two bedroom apt, we keep the thermostat low to save money

Vlad: what about Julia your older daughter

Boris: oh she went to Israel to do some au paire  job she says pays lots of money, havent heard from her I am worried...

Vlad: I am looking to retire form the navy in a few years, got a nice pension and a job teaching at the academy lined up how bout you

Boris: Vlad I dont know if I will even have a pension or get paid by this take over govt.

Vlad: Boris come back to the Mother Russia Armed Forces, we can get you a nice payraise, new naval equipment, rank promotion, nice dacha, not to mention your gas bill will be a lot less for two apartments one for your family, the other for the inlaws in new construction in Crimea (with a Sea View)

I expect NATO to try to get forces on the ground under Ukrainian flag to secure Odessa Port and Large Industrial MIC complexes that Russia wants. Its a race to see who gets there first, and Russia is winning. Odessa will be a FLASHPOINT and you will see many casualties there my Prediction.  If Odessa goes to Putin then Transniester region of Moldova will no longer be isolated and it will be continuous with Mother Russia.  Odessa is the next valuable piece in the chess game.

So, technically, the Old/New Ukrainian Navy could defend the country against foreign forces from the South?  ;-)

Imagine the complexity if a "Ukrainian" warship sinks a foreign ship, while flying a Ukrainian flag?  The mind reels.

East Ukraine should declare a "Velvet Divorce" from Kiev.

Russia moves to cancel east's portion of Ukrainian debt.

Russia raises gas prices to western Ukraine.

EU loans money Kiev, money eventually ends up in Russia's hands.

Fed prints new money to cover EU loan.

Lost in America: A Journey with My Father by Sherwin Nuland (Victoria's father)

"We learn also that Nuland has suffered from depression on and off since he was preadolescent, experiencing a major breakdown in midlife. This book attempts to make sense out of the family dynamics and the depression. At the same time, it describes the insular world of Russian Jewish immigrants living in New York City's Lower East Side and Bronx in the first half of the 20th century."

"What cannot be disassociated from Nuland's story is his Jewish background of persecution, scapegoating, immigration, and the Holocaust."

The play Fiddler on the Roof depicts life of Jews in old Ukraine and specifically problems of assimilation and bigotry towards money merchants.
Unfortunately not much has changed since then and in fact recent events in Ukraine will make matters worse. In other words , Nuland and Kagan inadvertently are raising old fears and provoking ill feelings towards their own people in Europe and US as well. Comments on ZH certainly is evidence of rising religious bigotry spurred by the likes of Nuland/Kagan

I've seen FOTR on Broadway, almost barfed. Just another boring Yid fairytale that seeks to conflate the normal response of good people to non-assimilating parasites and nation/culture/tradition destroying detritus that has been thrown out of every European country over the past 1100 years with irrational, latent hatred by their hosts.

Jew's arent "victims", it's serial crappy Jewish behavior that is (and has always been) the cause of their problems. Time to grow up Yiddies, stop blaming others for your wretched behvior practiced over and over and over again. What, we're not supposed to notice the pattern? Stop pointing crooked fingers and try looking within.

Over-hyped Jewish fairytales written by ethnocentric supremacists cannot be taken seriously. They're just how Jews try to ignore their documented history of shitty neighbor realtions and rationalize their often disgusting behavior over the centuries. They can't help themselves, it's just How They Roll. Much easier to blame others than face up to their own deficiencies and actually change for the better.  What we're now witnessing in the Ukraine is just the latest eruption of shitty Jewish behavior. We're not supposed to notice?

Believe and post what you want, but here at ZH, you're gonna get a basketball facial each time you try to throw up devious crap like this.  It's called Free Speech, and we do realize just how huge a threat that is to the Jewish racket. We also note how hard Jews are trying to destroy our God-given Freedom of Speech, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. Better to try to enslave another Gentile nation as debt peons than to admit the truth, eh? To treat others as Jews (rightly) demand to be treated themselves?

Did I mention disgusting?

The irony is that Jews have never had better protection in the region than under Putin.

Exhibit A: "If you view Putin in the context of Russian history of the last 400 years... Putin is the least authoritarian, let's call him the most soft authoritarian of Russian rulers in centuries.  Putin has been the better for Jews than any leader in Russian history, and if you want evidence of that, just ask Israel." - Steven F Cohen, Prof. Emeritus of Russian Studies at NYU and Princeton, on Fareed Zakaria's show GPS on CNN, Sun, 3/2/2014. He just wrote an article in the magazine The Nation: "Media Malpractice: Putin, Sochi and Ukraine"

To the extent that an elite subset of Neocons and US Jews are anti-Putin masks their real agenda:  NWO.  World domination/control via King Dollar.  It's ALL about the hegemony of the Petro-Dollar, and the power, glory and lifestyles it provides for its true owners and their ilk.  Period.

Indeed. Ukraine is a hodgepodge of ethnic regions with one underlying commonality: poverty and deathbed demographics. The Crimea has been Russian for a long time and will stay that way. The pipelines will stay operating. Russia will take care of that. The geographic area we call Ukraine will continue to suck and decline, each wildly diverse ethnic region in its particular way.

Nice one John!  Glad you put her 'name' in quotes...

Here real name is actually Nudelman

She's Zionist cunt (a horrible cunt at that) who has ancesty from the Russian Empire no less, adding to the irony.

Dear oh dear - No wonder America and the wider world are so damned angry.  Goodness!  Now, don't get me wrong, no one is fawning over any world leaders (Putin or anyone else), but they have had enough of the demagogue-ary  spewed to enslave so many people, Obama, Kerry, McStain, Nuland, excuse, Nudelman et al are parasites.

Zionists are running the world into ruins, and it is painful to watch.  Let's look at the three (so-called excecutrive branches of the USA) + one (the Fed) shall we?

The Judiciary - 4 of the 9 Supreme Court Judges are confirmed Zionists.

The Legislative - How many confirmed Zionists there? backed by AIPAC, ADL, and countless other lobbies.

The Executive - Well the office of POTUS was littered with Zionists (overtly and covertly), with little shame or respect to the ordinary American.

The Fed - Greenspan, Bernanke, Yellen, Fischer the Israeli (will replace the bitch when she dies)

If that piece of precious paper known as The Consititution, could set itself on fire, it would.

And some people still think "Zionism" is about invading parts of the middle east?  Pleaaaaaaaase!  it is a LOT more damaging than that!

Despite calls for neutrality in Ukraine protests, young Jews are on the front lines

"Despite calls by Jewish leaders to remain neutral, young Jews have been on the front lines of protests against Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich."

"Alexandra Oleynikova, a young Jewish activist involved in organizing Limmud conferences, told [The Jerusalem Post] that while some Jews stayed away out of fear, others had flocked to Maidan."

"These Jewish protesters, she said, 'stand there nights and days; they really live there now and they help people who come to find accommodations. They bring food and they collect money.'"

"Some young Ukrainian Jews who work for international organizations such as JDC, Hillel and Limmud are 'really active' in offering support as well as 'organizing the barricades,' Oleynikova said."

"On November 30, when government forces staged a massive push against the barricades, attacking and beating protesters, she said, 'my friends were on the front lines of the fighting against the troops.'"

"Reading about the protests on Facebook and seeing anti-Semitic comments is different from the reality on the ground, Oleynikova added."

The Costs to American Taxpayers of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: $3 Trillion [2003]

"An estimate of the total cost to the U.S. alone of instability and conflict in the region—which emanates from the core, Israeli-Palestinian conflict—amounts to close to $3 trillion, measured in 2002 dollars. This is an amount almost four times greater than the cost of the Vietnam war, also reckoned in 2002 dollars."

"Even this figure underestimates the costs because certain classes of expenditure remain unquantified. In particular, no reliable figure is available for the costs of 'Project Independence,' Washington's lavishly promoted effort to reduce U.S. dependence on oil from the Middle East. That effort, which was subverted early on by diverse local special interests, was designed primarily to insulate Israel from any new 'Arab oil weapon' after 1973/74, and may easily have cost $1 trillion."

"Similarly, aid to Israel—and thus the regional total—also is understated, since much is outside of the foreign aid appropriation process or implicit in other programs. Support for Israel comes to $1.8 trillion, including special trade advantages, preferential contracts, or aid buried in other accounts. In addition to the financial outlay, U.S. aid to Israel costs some 275,000 American jobs each year."

"Total identifiable costs come to almost $3 trillion. About 60 percent, well over half, of those costs—about $1.7 trillion—arose from the U.S. defense of Israel, where most of that amount has been incurred since 1973... ."

The ex-Israeli soldier who led a Kiev fighting unit

"'Delta' has headed 'the Blue Helmets of Maidan' of 40 men and women - including several IDF veterans - in violent clashes with government forces."

"He calls his troops 'the Blue Helmets of Maidan,' but brown is the color of the headgear worn by Delta — the nom de guerre of the commander of a Jewish-led militia force that participated in the Ukrainian revolution. Under his helmet, he also wears a kippah."

"'I don’t belong [to Svoboda], but I take orders from their team. They know I’m Israeli, Jewish and an ex-IDF soldier. They call me 'brother,'' he said. 'What they’re saying about Svoboda is exaggerated, I know this for a fact. I don’t like them because they’re inconsistent, not because of [any] anti-Semitism issue.'"

"But Delta says the Kremlin is using the anti-Semitism card falsely to delegitimize the Ukrainian revolution, which is distancing Ukraine from Russia’s sphere of influence."

"'It’s bullshit. I never saw any expression of anti-Semitism during the protests, and the claims to the contrary were part of the reason I joined the movement. We’re trying to show that Jews care,' he said."

The jews are harvesting the organs of wounded protesters.

"But Delta has another, more ambitious, project: He and Azman are organizing the airborne evacuation of seriously wounded protesters — none of them Jewish — for critical operations in Israel. One of the patients, a 19-year-old woman, was wounded at Institutskaya by a bullet that penetrated her eye and is lodged inside her brain, according to Delta. Azman says he hopes the plane of 17 patients will take off next week, with funding from private donors and with help from Ukraine’s ambassador to Israel."

FYI... Steven F Cohen (Prof. Emeritus of Russian Studies at NYU and Princeton) was interviewed by Fareed Zakaria on his program GPS on CNN earlier today, and he says that the US Administration and the US Media have it all wrong.  They flashed his article in the magazine "The Nation”:  Media Malpractice -- Putin, Sochi and Ukraine".

He explains that Putin is not anti-West or anti-Ukrainian, but "intensely, historically pro-Russian".  He and the Russian people see his mission as defensive and internal, to "restore Russia from the disaster of 1991".

Cohen: "He [Putin] did not create this Ukrainian crisis, it was imposed on him, and he had no choice but to react".

Cohen: "If you view Putin in the context of Russian history of the last 400 years... Putin is the least authoritarian, let's call him the most soft authoritarian of Russian rulers in centuries.  Putin has been the better for Jews than any leader in Russian history, and if you want evidence of that, just ask Israel."

Zakaria: "What about this Russian neo-Imperialism..."

Cohen: "You and I could argue this for hours, but what if we used the analogy... What if suddenly Russian power suddenly showed up in Canada and Mexico.  And provinces in Canada and Mexico said they were going to join Putin's Eurasian economic union and maybe even his military bloc.  Surely the American President would have to react as least as forcefully as Putin has."

Cohen: "Brzezinski and Albright said, for example, that the current government in Kiev is legitimate.  Putin says it's not legitimate.  I would argue that if you had on your show a panel of Constitutional International Lawyers, they would be hard put to explain how a government which a week ago overthrew the entire Ukrainian Constitutional Order, deposed the elected President, and has been passing anti-Russian legislation in Kiev, and which is at least partially controlled by very extremist forces in the streets, is legitimate.  That would be hard to explain." - Prof. SF Cohen

Zakaria: [pause, deflects] "Well, Steven Cohen, that is a fascinating contrarian point of view."  [Redirects] "Lots more ahead, we're going to go to Kiev and talk to people there and get their views on the subject..." [to reinforce the official meme]

Fuck you, Albright, Brzezinski and Zakaria!  You NWO scum.

He said that all Russians are Kiev Rus, and not the other way around.

Probably also need a history lesson too, else you'd know that Russia (Moscow) was essentially birthed out of and grew out of Ukraine (Kiev). Many Russians call Ukraine 'Little Russia' and regard it as an ancestral homeland. That's what Putin meant.

“As the 20th century draws to a close, the United States stands as the world’s most preeminent power. Having led the West to victory in the Cold War, America faces an opportunity and a challenge: Does the United States have the vision to build upon the achievement of past decades? Does the United States have the resolve to shape a new century favorable to American principles and interests? “[What we require is] a military that is strong and ready to meet both present and future challenges; a foreign policy that boldly and purposefully promotes American principles abroad; and national leadership that accepts the United States’ global responsibilities.'

exert from "Rebuilding America's Defences", A Report of The Project for the New American Century
September 2000

Established in the spring of 1997, the Project for the New American Century is a nonprofit, educational organization whose goal is to promote American global leadership. The Project is an initiative of the New Citizenship Project. William Kristol is chairman of the Project, and Robert Kagan, Devon Gaffney Cross, Bruce P. Jackson and John R. Bolton serve as directors. Gary Schmitt is executive director of the Project.

"The United States is the world’s only superpower, combining preeminent military power, global technological leadership, and the world’s largest economy. Moreover, America stands at the head of a system of alliances which includes the world’s other leading democratic powers. At present the United States faces no global rival. America’s
grand strategy should aim to preserve and extend this advantageous position as far into the future as possible."

Are you sure it's not just a language thing?

In German for example all nouns have a specific definite article. "Die" Tasse, "der" Tisch. It's a royal pain in the arse to remember and frankly I can't, With English everything is "the" so in many cases you can pretty much drop it entirely.

However if you are translating literally from the another language to English, you may find the definite article being included incorrectly or in the wrong place, particularly if English is not the translators first language.

The Russian Language it seems has 6 cases... which is... to put it mildly, perverse. German has 4 and that drives me up the wall, and in fact Russian has no "the, a or an" at all, the definite article is implied in the sentence structure. So the literal translation of "I am in Crimea" from the Russian may end up as "I am in the Crimea" if the translator is unsure about whether the definite article applies.

Then there's the name of the state; The United Kingdom of ... The Federal republic of ... The Autonomous Region of ... But these are Englishisms, not Russian.

BTW, did you know Ukraine literally means "borderlands"?
