How The "Separation Of Powers" Is Supposed To Work

Tyler Durden's picture

With Executive Orders flying willy-nilly, a monstrous surveillance nation, and standing on the verge of another Cold War, we thought a quick refresher on how (exactly) the separation of powers is 'supposed' to work would be useful...

Or did you think just anyone born on the lonely streets of City:XXX can become the president?

How about Edward II?  Of course he was a shitty king (of course), but still.  Does that mean I am now something like No. 120,000,000th in line to be king?

It's good to be king they say...

Or president would be OK too.  But you all would not like that, trust me.

Instead of 100 inbred czar brothers all gathered in a 1000ft palace, you have 100 inbred czar brothers distributed over the land, each with a 100ft palace. Distributed or not, they each have a job role and they all have the same father.

What cock and bull, so instead of 1 king we now have multiple government branches with the power to exert force upon the citizens. Throw in the fact that they are temporary hires (they lose elections) it only makes sense that they would try to loot the system as fast as they can. DemoCrazy at it's finest, stop thinking that governments will be benevolent. Changing one pair of shitty shorts for another pair is not progress.

The seperation of powers is soley and only to prevent one branch from stealing the others power to club it's slaves.

That's exactly why I don't buy this "Deep State" business that CHS is always spewing about.  If there were such a secret network that is all powefull, their first order of business should be to keep the "Front" up and running.  The way it looks now, the people have no voice, no choice and no way out.  Politicians are bought and paid for, Wall St. makes the policy and D.C. toes the line, the military is a tool of the big banks and the economy exists to funnel money to the elites.

Why would the deep state allow them to do any of this? The boy-king is the most ridiculous vestige of all, why would they let him run around making a fool of himself and the "establishment"?

I just don't buy it.  It is not orchestrated, it is willy-nilly incompetence.

There may be "separation of powers", but the problem is that there is currently too much power in government. And that power is being bought by the highest bidders.

We need "separation of powers" AND limited government.

Well, individuals and households are the bedrock of any nation and when they are ignored there is no separation of powers but a coalescence of mammon lusting spineless tapeworms who will fool said individuals as long as possible.

Add a complicit MSM with an alternating distraction that voting and politics matter and the meal is complete.

We have entered a Kleptographic stage of new monarchies and dictatorships masquerading as representative and democratic governments.

The FED is the biggest parasite in the history of Humanity, which is the layer above the bitter arsenic of banks and money changers - the servants of the elites.

bs, the authority of one man over another is dictated by social or tribal law. the government intercedes (often wrongfully such as Zimmerman vs Martin) by imposing its own ANTISOCIAL LAWS, in order to make it the government appear to have some value. the great depression was a central government policy meant to destroy the social contract, and impose THEIR ANTISOCIAL LAW. imposed on a world wide basis, it causes massive destruction of the social contract. today's great depression is the same policy, only this time the contract has strengthened. th idea that ukraine should be a bloody battle ground between east and west is an obscene and outmoded response. that is our leadership, say what you want about putin, so far the movement has been nonviolent. but these are his people on both sides of the fight. obama sees nothing does nothing, knows nothing

Although I agree that the separation of powers is an extremely important ideal, the REALITY is that after the international banksters succeeded in corrupting the monetary system, they were then able to leverage that up and up, until all branches of government (including the mass media as the "fourth branch), were almost completely corrupted.

The FUNDING OF THE POLITICAL PROCESSES has destroyed the ideals of a democratic republic operating through the rule of law, with the separation of powers being a crucial aspect of that ideal system. The REALITY has been a tiny minority have been able to almost totally dominate the funding of politics, while the vast majority never participated. That continued for Centuries, always enabled to leverage itself up and up and up.

What has actually happened is that the funding of the political processes has enabled the methods of organized crime to be systematically and persistently applied to capture control of the powers of government, on all sides, in all ways, so that the separation of powers became a farce, like all of the other aspects of the ideal of a constitutional rule of law were rendered absurd, cruel jokes, by the ways that the monetary system was completely corrupted, in an almost inconceivably crazy way, and then the profit from that fraud was able to be reinvested in more frauds, in a runaway situation, whereby the society as a whole became terminally sick and insane.

There's something missing from this. A democratic republic is based on the 3 pure forms of government: monarchy, aristocracy and demagogy (or democracy, Aristotle would never call democracy any other way than demagogy). All pure forms have inherent vices, the seed of their own destruction. And to avoid those vices from being realized, a mixed system where each pure form checks against the other is the most effective. So monarchy is represented in the executive, aristocracy in the judicial and democracy in the legislative.

The cute little video portrays the State as a remedy for the fact that neighbor is killing neighbor.

A "protector from violence."

What a crock. The State is the most violent thing in society.

There is no state that is containable. The only stable society is one with no state. Never heard of stateless societies in history?  Hm, you just don't seem to hear about it in government schools...

Professor Turley pretty well nailed it.  The other two branches have ceded their power to the executive.   Ours is a system of threes.  On the federal level we have the executive, judicial and legislative.  Then under the concept of federalism we have another system of threes, the federal government, state government and we the people.  When the whole system gets out of kilter, the final check on the system is we the people.

http://www.wnd.com/2013/12/liberal-law-professor-obama-is-the-danger/

In the coming decade the real question will be if the issues are decided by ballots or bullets? Considering the ammunition shortages and the phenomenal gun sales I suspect that we the people are hedging our bets.   While gun related deaths have been trending downward, Americans have bought roughly 67 million firearms since the POTUS was elected.  That is enough firearms to outfit 1340 American armies according to the U.S. Army order of battle. http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2013/05/14/disarming-realities-as-gun-sales-soar-gun-crimes-plummet/

It is possible that the current denizens of the deep state lately referred to can make the same mistake made by George III and attempt confiscation.  If they are as well informed as many suggest, I suspect they will be smart enough not to lite the fuse on the second American Revolution.
