Gold And Silver Recover Putin "Fold" Losses
The "safe" haven of precious metals is once again well bid this morning as Draghi's disappointment sent the EUR higher (and USD lower). Gold and silver have now recovered all the losses from the flight-to-high-beta-equity that followed Putin's press conference on Tuesday. So since he spoke, oil prices have collapsed (hurts Russia) but US stocks have surged (as bonds dumped). Must maintain the illusion of control (but it appears the PMs are leaking that status quo trust away).

How about the founder of bitcoin being unmasked.... motherfucker lives with his 93 year old mother and 6 kids in Cali...
http://mag.newsweek.com/2014/03/14/bitcoin-satoshi-nakamoto.html
If you're not going to get behind the Bitcoin at least stop referring to these fake markets as "gold" and "silver".
Don't be hating now that your false prophet was revealed to look like a douche..... Gold is tangible.... bit coin is nothing.
one is money and has been for 6000 years.......the other is a banker's wet dream
Bitcoin is the banker's worst nightmare moron.
Funny, I thought that was a noose.
Yeah I'm sure they're quaking on their yachts about a cryptocurrency valued at 15 billion.
I'm sure it pains you to see your idol shitoshi cockomoto turn out to be a basement dweller such as yourself.
Soon to expand to 150 Bn.. 1500 Bn.. 15000 Bn.. as Bitcoin gains market share as superior products are oft to do.
Queue the thread being clogged by stupid fucking comments by Bonestar.
Yep, you keep pumping that, just like you do the family cat.
fuck off. Why are you even here?
Mercuryquicksliver thinks fonestar is out of character.
This is Fonestar the depressive, I like Fonestar the manic better too
Whatever drugs you are on... please let everyone know. I think most would love to live in such denial like yourself.
Winning since $16 BTC.
Gold - winning since it was found and used to trade as money.
Bitcoin, used as currency for a few years.
Good luck bitcoin, and I mean that.
fone, ur name calling has picked up in intensity.....we were fine with u and ur thoughts...but now u are just a low life scum bag who has been exposed...u my friend appear to be the asshole, moron dickhead douchebag....so take ur name calling and third person references and go fuck urself ...u fucking moron....
Here, Here!!!
"we were fine with u and ur thoughts"
You were never fine. ZH has done nothing but hate and harass so take your hypocrisy and STFU. You et al.
"one is money and has been for 6000 years.......the other is a banker's wet dream"
Oh yes, that explains JPM's position paper on BTC. Nice try but you don't know what you're talking about.
Funny, I thought you guys said it was made by the NSA.
Now the best you can come up with is that he "looks like a douche".
Your idiocy is literally staggering.
He really is douchy looking.... staggering is right....but the idiocy really lies with people who purchases thin air and hope is grows to infinity.
Is that all you have? What this guy looks like fuckhead? What is he supposed to look like? Should Stephen Hawking's theories be based upon his looks as well?
The fact that this site is supposed to be the enlightened opposition is scary. A bunch of mental midgets.
Foneystar.... you would bitcoins from an animated piece of talking dog shit... its just who you are... not so bright.
You've got nothing. fonestar rests his case.
I've got reality hoe.. been pimping it on you for months... way back when bitcoing was above 1000 and way back when you keep telling everyone 100K was the next move... sad truth for fonestar.... you lost half your fake money since then.
How would you know how much BTC fonestar has purchased above the current levels dipshit?
because you still drive that ford focus.... cryptorevolutionary.
If vehicles would increase 5000x in value fonestar would include those in his portfolio too. Regardless of what Bitcoin is in dollar terms, your bond portfolio will be worth nothing at all.
In what reality do you live Foney?
Scenario 1: Bitcoin challenges the dollar and gets regulated/banned/etc.
Scenario 2: Dollar and othe world currencies collapse and nobody gives a shit about fake internet coins,
Scenario 3: Foney buys all 21,000,000 bitcoins for a half of a cheese sandwhich after scenario 1 or 2 happens.
I vote for scenario 3..... Foneystar is the real douche.
so when the experiment, or this phase of the digital currency expirment ends... did you really think the NSA would come out and claim it? hardly. that would defeat the purpose. so roll out the cover story while they gear up for the next phase...
Just admit you are a sore loser Fonestar
What did fonestar lose dipshit? $643 BTC.
https://btc-e.com/
Besides your brain?..... your money hoe.
You work for fiat or gold? Don't be a douche bag ring leader.
YOUR FAT ASS
Matt Taibbi is probably crying in his beer that this scoop went to Newsweek - what a story!! The name is REAL whod'athunkit!
Matt Taibbi would have respected this man's privacy. Also, this man has neither confirmed nor denied being the Satoshi Nakamoto of Bitcoin and it is totally irrelevant in any case.
I dunno, fonie, what Taibbi would have done with this story ; I have never squished in his sneakers. But I can tell you I am missing his prose on this yarn.
[snip] << Rubin was the prototypical Goldman banker. He was probably born in a $4,000 suit, he had a face that seemed permanently frozen just short of an apology for being so much smarter than you, and he exuded a Spock-like, emotion-neutral exterior; the only human feeling you could imagine him experiencing was a nightmare about being forced to fly coach.
>>
As for "respecting privacy", well looks like Satoshi at least has some protection from being turned into an instant Avatar:
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2013/07/ninth-circuit-says-celebrities-are...
I'm not convinced that the man pictured is the developer nor that NSA is not involved. If indeed he is the developer and not attached to any government then that would go a long way towards my interest in BTC and the other copy cats.
If BTC were to stabilize as a means to transfer wealth/money I may decide to use for quick transactions (akin to paypal). However, I can't understand why anyone would "invest" in cryptocurrency when the supply is unlimited. Give me P2P goldmoney or eGold and that would be cool..... but the gov't wont let me play!
Who cares what he looks like? I want to see how all of this plays out.
I wonder how many BTC he has left?
***
I wonder if he (or his mom) has any gold?
i read that it is 400 million
Hey Do Chen,
Check this guy out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2CsJ2HMA2I
20 minutes well worth your time.
Probably not 'the' Satoshi (of Bitcoin) ... smells lot like a Newsweek beat up - and one that put's this guy and his family at real risk. Irresponsible to publish address and photos - but no proof of the Bitcoin connection.
>> revealed to look like a douche..
I don't understand the animosity. What does a douche look like and what does it matter what the creator looks like? Looks like just another J6P to me. The divide and conquer mentality permeates every facet of our society, much to the masters delight. Black/white, young/old, bitcoin/gold, red/blue.
If indeed he is the real Satoshi (this article does not establish that and just threw this man's life into jeporady) he looks very much like fonestar would have imagined him to.
Wow, the late night sexual fantasies of fonestar have been revealed.
Or has it been revealed that most ZH'ers are shallow, intellectual pea brains?
What were they hoping for, some handsome stud they could jerk off too? So hypnotized by the glamor of TV they want their mathematicians to look like Brad Pitt or whoever the fuck.
Also taking a story from Newsweek at such face value and then pandering on about how he looks? Lame.
Should we go through the list of douche bag scientist throughout the ages (Einstein, eg)?
He's not a douche, but neither is he the libertarian hero that the Bitcoin mythology imagined him to be. He is distinctly old guard, working on classified corporate and military projects and living in a traditional family.
Libertarians are always imagining two things: 1) That evil oligarchs control everything; and 2) That utopian freedom is just around the corner. Neither one of these things is true, but prepare to be decapitated if you so much as mention it to them. Bitcoin, like the internet itself, is just one of the latest in a long line of failed libertarian idols who turned out to have feet of clay after all.
What does it matter that he was working for Intelligence? By your same logic, anyone who is ex-military cannot be a libertarian. Anyone who has ever paid taxes cannot be a libertarian.
Well, there's "conservatives" and conservatives, and "liberals" and liberals, and "Libertarians" and Libertarians.
Really depends on if you vote for the Red and Blue team, or not.
>> depends on if you vote for the Red and Blue team,
The connection between conservatives and liberals and the red team and the blue team was lost some time ago. Any true conservative or true liberal doesn't have a team and hasn't for a long time.
Re: Any true conservative or true liberal doesn't have a team and hasn't for a long time.
Which also tells you how many true liberals and conservatives there are.
Everybody loves socialism, they just don't like other people getting it.
It matters because the real man is so at odds with the image that grew up around him when he was anonymous, and because reality is ultimately more interesting and more instructive than imagination. It matters because Bitcoin had to come down to earth eventually, and understanding the mind of its inventor is a part of that process. It matters because the man deserves at least some of the credit (or the blame, as the case may be) for what his invention has wrought; and if he disclaims the credit or the blame, it is important to know why. It matters because everything has its roots in a personality, and in order to understand something we must understand the will behind it. It matters because the effects of this experiment in virtual currency are not fully known yet. It matters because scholarship and posterity will be interested in it. It matters because it does.
How has Bitcoin come down to Earth? It is $643 USD as we speak. Your shit "dollar" is worth 0.00155 BTC. You reaveal more than you wish with the statement "or blame, as the case may be". It does not matter if this is the real Satoshi or not as evidenced by the markets today. The genie is out of the bottle and the clock is ticking.
1) I do not speak for, nor defend, the US Dollar.
2) I do not "wish" to reveal any less than what I say.
And by the same though, $1 versus 1 oz of gold is worth .0007407
I don't know of any libertarians that think utopian freedom will ever be found, much less around the corner. I'm including myself in that broad stroke.
Saying the developer of BTC looks like a douche because of his physical appearance or avoidance of the media says much more about you.

Lol Nothing lasts forever...Great tune.
Meh, now when is the MSM gonna investigate just WHO the Illuminati really are?
...so he's prolific and compassionate. Is that a problem?
Re: Is that a problem?
Doesn't fit the correct "male" bullshit narative.
Doesn't fit the Satoshi as a GOD narrative being pimped by some star struck foney blogger.
>> Satoshi as a GOD narrative.
So has Satoshi been pushing that or some misguided minions?
Re: So has Satoshi been pushing that or some misguided minions?
Humans naturally create hero bullshit. It's why we have the societies we do. It's why we have all the imaginary Dieties too.

Paint me a misguided minion. I think he has provided a unique perspective representing worst case scenarios we might face in the US. For planing purposes you need to consider the whole continuum of possibilities. We can buy PMs, guns, ammo, prep supplies... But how will it all go down, where will come from, what are signs we should be looking for?
We all know it will end badly, but few have or share ideas on the details of how it might play out. Some might be ready, but they may have huge blind spots rendering them unable to react properly.
I'm about as prepared and ready as any of the nut bag survivalists espouse and I figure if the S were to hit the fan my survivability is close to nil. Other than basic common sense stuff, luck will play the biggest part of how anyone survives a catastrophe.
Prophet, not God.
hey that BTC founder is a certifiable genuis and you're dumping on him for how he chooses to live on HIS TERMS? did you even bother reading the fucking article¿¿¿
idiot.
Satoshi does not want to mingle amongst a world filled with the attitudes that inhabit this blog? Neither do most programmers or math geniuses. That makes them crazy douches?
a lot of peeps up in here are BITTER and CLUELESS despite slingling basic termz....sad but hey ZH is worth fighting at/for...
ZH is filled with a bunch of fake profiles and stooges just like YT and FB.
Reggie's unicoin idea is posted here on ZH and I think a lot of people here are open to the 'idea' of crypto currency. I like Reggie's ideas but I look at it as something that is impractical for these times. As long as the wall street bankers and government lackies are in charge of the show they will not allow the idea of crypto currency to grow beyond the size of western union and if it does it will be hacked or challenged. It's sort of like breeding a new fish with much promise to feed the world and then releasing it in a polluted river and expecting it to thrive. Stacking technology on technology when there is a risk that the global economy and infrastructure are set for contraction/reset at best and war and destruction at worst is a high risk proposition in my way of thinking. When people are thinking where can buy some affordable food they will not be pulling out their digital wallets to pay for it. In these times think "least common denominator".
VD, I'm not a bitcoin fan, but I got out this article pretty much what you are saying. If the potrayal is correct in the article. The man appears to be highly intelligent genius type guy. Many of these types of folks are reclusive, reject society and "don't fit in" They see things that others don't see. The part that seeme interesting to me is the claims of one of the guys that claim to work on code with him and was corresponding with Hitoshi via email. He claims that when he was invited to give a briefing tho the CIA that Hitoshi cut off contact with him. It appears that Hitoshi was working on secret governmental projects if the article is correct, so maybe he was working for the NSA in developing this code. Maybe he regrets it because he created another tool for the Master to use in controlling and duping the anti-fed anti government crowd.
Who knows but one thing that looks certain is the man is a genius.
Germany is more concerned about the annual dividends of Susanne Klatten than it is of people falling to tyranny in other lands of Europe.
gold stawks ain't buying it..... the freaking delusion going on is just astonishing.
Hmmm last time I counted my stacks I didn't have any losses. maybe I should check again.
Same problem here. Maybe we're just stupid.
I am not going out in the rain to dig, so I will assume the same..
I am going to guess that my stack is OK too, unless some kind of divers went down some 200 meters...
If they can recover items from the Titanic, then what chance do the rest of us have?
;o)
Just keep buying canoes cause with all the boating accidents going on we'll get this economic recovery up off its ass.
Well, Canadian miners refuse to follow the gold price up. Some bargains right now!
I guess when the mainstream stocks in their TSE index are down they don't like it. No matter what the real world situation is.
I'll stick with the WORLD ""gold price" over a little stock market anyday.
Volume pretty high...must be knee-jerk selling by dumb institutional money.
Will run out soon...
Either somebody has far more or far less silver supply than they are admitting to have met the ’13 demand coupled w/ a crash in price? Either this is the greatest mismatch of supply / demand and the greatest mis-pricing of an asset in history or I’m missing something? When I try to explain to people this situation, they simply can’t believe such an extreme mismatch is possible…which makes me wonder if I’ve got it all wrong?
please d-check the math and assumptions...I was a liberal arts major.
Silver global supply = 1,050,000,000 oz or 32,812 tons/yr (mining / scrap)
Total global inventory of silver is less than 1 B oz (below 32,000 tons)…down from 9 billion in 1950.
'13 breakdown of users % / total?
50% = industrial users (16,400 tons)
25% = jewelry / silverware (8,200 tons)
25% = investment demand (8,200 tons)
India in ’13 increased from 2100 tons to 6100 tons = a 4,000 ton increase or 50% of all silver available for investment?
While mint sales worldwide were at record pace while industrial / jewelry maintained their usage.
And price collapsed although the silver ETF’s did not off-load to meet the demand as their cousins did in the gold market.
Again, please double check the math and the assumptions…glad to know if I've got this wrong
Just wait until Joe sixpack realizes that he NEEDS precious metals to retain any semblance of purchasing power. The minuteness of the physical market will be revealed in all it's shinny glory overnight.
Re: Just wait until Joe sixpack
I was just on a conference call with some "Joe sixpacks" who help support the top 1% (who own my TBTF financial instituation).
The topic was (besides the borning work stuff):
1) How great the economy was as we hit record auto-loan applications.
2) How great their Tesla stock is doing, and how they should have bought more when they "had the chance".
3) How Tesla will have the best battery supply-line in the world in 3 years.
The Elysium support class is doing really good.
What makes me question my silver story is the lack of industrial users having difficul)ty sourcing silver...solar manufacturers or auto industry or or or...I don't see or hear any stories about a difficulty or scarcity...even generally true for the mints (allocations apparently on the blank producers, not the silver suppliers).
So, what is one to make of something which on it's face seems so imbalanced but in it's actions shows no imbalance.
Someone is the victim of a series of propaganda lies...and if the PM prices remain @ these levels (w/ reports of record demand) for much longer and no industrial or mint supply issues bubble up... it was probably us stackers who've been had?
Silver/gold sales ratio 121:1 in feb 2014

Gold is looking so strong, was gaining strength before urkaine, it will continue after... keep stackin while you still can afford to bitches...
Fingers crossed. Fiat is still King...for now.
Let's see what the non-farm payroll figures do for the precious metals prices tomorrow (never know we may get a dip on better than expected numbers).
Also worth noting is the lack of progress being made in South African over miners pay, it is effecting output.
Platinum $1480 / Palladium $775
Ohio Precious Metals has some real nice year of the horse 10oz bars out...picked some from my dealer yesterday...thanks you fucking bitch ass sociopath MoneyChanger fucks - for the discount that is.....
keep stackin......
I thought silver was over $22 previously. it seems like it's dragging ass
$22 silver was so two weeks ago, fonz.
Moar Screaming & Yellen - Why does my wallet feel lighter each day the S&P goes up - which is continuously!
look at AG it's running like there's no tomorrow
maybe there isnt
It must be institution-driven action. Small Ag producers are good buys today IMO
I Does it pay a dividend? No wonder...
More desperate yield-seeking by large stockholders who need $-denominated returns and can't speculate.
Putin, Ron Paul, Gold and Silver.
we few, we happy few, we band of silver holders . . .
A bit can be 1 or 0, at 600 must be a bubble if you ask me.
IN A HYPERBOLIC PHASE!!! IT WON'T STOP UNTIL WE SEE MAJOR GAINS!!
The only thing Putin "folded" was Crimea back into Russia.
