Just print it and send everyone in America 1,000,000 ... great shot in the arm

AlaricBalth's picture

This time he's serious. Really. He signed an executive order and declared a national emergency so he must be serious. Right???

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) (NEA), section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 (8 U.S.C. 1182(f)), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, find that the actions and policies of persons -- including persons who have asserted governmental authority in the Crimean region without the authorization of the Government of Ukraine -- that undermine democratic processes and institutions in Ukraine; threaten its peace, security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity; and contribute to the misappropriation of its assets, constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, and I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat. I hereby order:

Husk-Erzulie's picture

Does Zero even know that he declared a national state of emergency?

Is it just me or is evil and stupid way scarier than evil with brains and intent?

ZerOhead's picture

< Putin is going to back down to Obama

< Obama is going to get 'pantsed' by Putin

No you're right... stupid is way scarier because stupid starts wars...

holdbuysell's picture

When a national emergency is declared, what exactly does this enable?

ZerOhead's picture

Let's see...

It enables increasing pilferage of the citizenry by Wall Street, unprovoked attacks on any nation chosen by MICC/AIPAC, suspension of all civil liberties and increased levels of spying on all Americans.

So all in all basically NO changes...

johnQpublic's picture

might as well end the thread right there

no further coments needed

you done said it all

(A) actions or policies that undermine democratic processes or institutions in Ukraine

ok, that line from the national emergency order irks me

seems to me, if crimea voted to join russia, then the US policy makers are now in violation of that line of the order

Husk-Erzulie's picture

Wow, that was quick.  Not that it is any big deal, just a formality, barbarous relic and all that.

AlaricBalth's picture

Most importantly, IMO, the requirement that a person under arrest be brought before a judge or into court (habeas corpus) can be suspended by the President at his discretion during a declaration of emergency. This would allow indefinite detention without formal charges being brought.

It's OK to be aging, or to be stupid, or to be weak. Have some sympathy. What's not OK is to be pathetic and laughable. Unfortunately that's where we're at with America: "Russia violates Ukraine's sovereignty". Is he really so clueless to NOT know what that sounds like to the rest of the world, after Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Libya, Egypt blah blah? I mean it's laughingstock territory.

This just in from Larry Flynt: "I think people should NEVER EVER look at pornography"

Also, great summary for those looking for view on evolution of crisis and current events:  "The Empire's Meddling In Ukraine"

Second--No "executive order" clause, article, section or associated amendments in the Constitution. So no weight of "law" only the weight of treason.

bsdetector's picture

I am so disgusted at hearing the Crimean government is unconstitutional. What about the present PM of Ukraine? To my knowledge there is no constitutional process for the appointment of a new PM. First you need to remove the existing government through a constitutional process. Yanukovich was removed by a coup!

Here is a more modest proposal: have the Federal Reserve pay everyone's Federal and State income taxes!

Then the Federal Reserve just prints whatever the Federal and State Governments want to spend!

This cartoon fits this whole situation to a tea.  Obama is a moron, he truly is.  Whoever talked him into this provocation says more about the ability of said person to control Obama than him having enough intelligence to know why we had a cold war.  It was better than a hot war with another country that has thousands of nukes and means to deliver them.  Hell we almost went to war over the Cuban missile crisis when we found out that Russia was putting nukes in Cuba, that was our red line and a line that we where to go to war on.  But he (I wonder if he talked to any of his generals) must have went against his generals because they even know that the Ukraine is Russias red line.

Time to get the Fed to print $200 billion a month and show those Russkies what real power is...

Rory_Breaker's picture

Fuck it, why stop at 200?

Keyser's picture

At least he hasn't used that old, tired, "line in the sand" phrase again. Obama would piss himself if you looked at him hard and said boo.

Kirk2NCC1701's picture

LOL.  Time go introduce GAS FOR GOLD in the EU.

And show the Fed what REAL POWER is.

Yellen, bring it on!  Bitch.

wee-weed up's picture

Note to self:  when ever posing a poll in ZH comments, put question that everyone is going to click on in green or up arrow place otherwise post is eventually going to appear as if it is from fonestar.

There is a belief that when confronted  by a bear in the wild, if you play dead the bear will sniff you and move on. In this case Obozo won't stop talking his nonsense, thus he is playing brain dead, hoping the bear moves on.  Get it?

e_goldstein's picture

In reality, people who are attacked by bears and try to play dead get mauled and their skulls chomped on.

Kirk2NCC1701's picture

Funny, yes.  Accurate, no.  His real problem is:

Obama is surrounded by the wrong people, giving him BAD ADVICE.  This is compounded by the fact that he does not possess the Knowledge or Analytical skills to deal with this Handicap.  IOW:  "He's no JFK"

These Advisers are self-serving, or serving other interests.  They are damaging his reputation, ruining his Legacy, and destroying the Country.

What is even MORE troubling, is that the MSM is not doing their job.  Listening to them makes me want to throw up, or throw something at the TV.  So to speak.

Bastiat's picture

The other problem is that of you remove the people around him, there's no one left.

KickIce's picture

Obama will sign anything that transfers power to the federal government.

pupdog1's picture

During the cuban missile crisis, JFK was surrounded by a bunch of brilliant guys.  You might not agree with them, but undeniably brilliant and loyal to the USA.

Obama only works with back alley gangsters and hustlers. If you added up their IQs you would be lucky to reach three digits.

AGuy's picture

"During the cuban missile crisis, JFK was surrounded by a bunch of brilliant guys."

You lost me with "Brilliant Guys". These are the same guys that started the Vietnam war with the Gulf of Tomkin False Flag. What prevented WW3 is the Russians backed down and got the US to withdraw its Missile in Turkey.

Titan Uranus's picture

The Soviets got EXACTLY what they wanted - our missles out of Turkey and hands off Cuba.  They had no intention of doing anything more than putting some equipment in Cuba so that they would have something to trade - or, if we refused to deal, the Cubans would be the ones who took some kind of hit.  Big upside, not much downside for the bear.  Kruschev won big, and he let Kennedy (who he thought was a lightweight) look good at home, so he'd be more likely to stay in power.  One side was playing chess, the other was playiing checkers.  Kiind of like now...

Fuh Querada's picture

advisors ? no. Handlers perhaps.

Kirk2NCC1701's picture

+1.  I was thinking Handlers, but said Advisers to be 'polite' and civil.

FWIW, I think that his Advisers are a combo of Neocons, Globalists, imperialist-Zionists, Banksters, Big Oil and Big-MIC people.  They effectively tell him what to think and say.  Whatever good Intentions he MAY have had in 2008, have long since disappeared, when TPTB took him aside and told him "what's what".

But I was being polite when I said "Advisers".

We don't have an INTERNALLY-CONSISTENT POLICY that the country or the world can or is willing to sign up for, w/o the US having to bully and blackmail our EU "Partners".

Our Domestic and Foreign Policies are driven by this unholy alliance of interests, that have NOTHING to do a sham called "The Elections", or the will of We The People.
