Soros On Putin's "Blind Spot" And Why "Europe May Not Survive"

Tyler Durden's picture

"Europe faces 25 years of Japan-style stagnation," warns George Soros in this brief Bloomberg TV interview, adding that without deeper integration, "it’s an incomplete association of nations and it may not survive." While claiming that the financial crisis may be over they now "face a political crisis," with the voluntary association cracking due to the creditors (Germany) being in charge. However, he hopes "Ukraine is a wake-up call to Europe, because Russia has emerged as a rival to the European Union." Putin, Soros worries, "has a very different idea of what a society should be like... he has a blind spot - he believes people can be manipulated and cannot resist." That's not the case according to Soros, who exclaims "people do believe in freedom."

George Soros on what is facing Europe today:

"What is facing Europe, unless there is a more radical change is a long period of stagnation. Nations can survive in that way. Japan is just trying to break-out of 25 years of stagnation, where Europe is just entering. The European Union is not a nation. It’s an incomplete association of nations and it may not survive 25 years of stagnation.

"The financial crisis as such is over. But now we are facing a political crisis, because the Euro crisis has transformed what was meant to be a voluntary association of equal sovereign states that sacrificed part of their sovereignty for the common good into something radically different. It is now a relationship between creditors and debtors, where the debtors have difficulty in paying and servicing their debt and that puts the creditors in charge. And that divides the Eurozone into two classes – the creditors and debtors. The creditors are in charge and unfortunately the policy that Germany in particular is imposing on Europe is counter-productive and is making the condition of the debtor countries worse and worse. So, right now Europe is already growing a little bit, the Eurozone, but that’s only because Germany is forging ahead and more than let’s say Italy and Spain are falling behind. "

On Central Banks and whether he cares about the weakness we saw in the data and deflation:

"That’s going to be a very tough year for the banks. They are under pressure, because they have to meet the stress test. The banks have an interest in passing the stress test rather than reviving credit to the economy, so the banks have a transmission mechanism for the people’s savings channeling it into the real economy. They are not fulfilling their function."

On Ukraine's impact on Europe:

"Ukraine is a wake-up call to Europe, because Russia has emerged as a rival to the European Union. Putin has tried to reconstitute the Russian empire as a rival for the European Union and has been very successful politically. Not terribly unsuccessful financially and economically, because the Russian economy is not doing well at all, but Putin has outplayed, outmaneuvered the European Union, because Europe it [inaudible] to form, it demanded too much and offered too little. So, it wasn’t difficult for Putin to output it. But the Ukrainian people stood up and demonstrated by actually sacrificing their lives. Their commitment to be part of Europe, so this is a challenge for Europe and Europe needs to rediscover its own European identity instead of each country just pursuing its national interests and getting further and further into conflict with the others. There are certain core principles and this is a political thing – democracy, open society, freedom that Europe has believed in and ought to actually stand up and be united."

"Putin has a very different idea of what a society should be like. He believes that people can be manipulated. He actually has got a blind spot. It’s beyond his comprehension that people can spontaneously resist. He believes that if Ukraine resists that there is a conspiracy that people, that Americans, CIA, my foundation are conspiring to threaten him or to undermine is policies. And that’s not the case, people do believe in freedom. "

Great article here by Wayne Madsen from February 28, 2014 where he details the melding of NSA/GCHQ’s SIGINT, HUMINT and Tavistock psy-op tactics utilized in the Ukraine as outlined by Snowden’s latest revelations:

http://www.strategic-culture.org/pview/2014/02/28/massive-psyop-employed...

[snip-Wall of text warning...but a good wall of text]

The latest tranche of PowerPoint slides revealed by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden shows the similarities between the GCHQ's Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group (JTRIG)'s Human Science Operations Cell (HSOC). The very name «Human Science Operations» appears yanked right from the operational charter of the Tavistock Institute, which includes the ability to engage in «full spectrum domination» by U.S. and U.K. intelligence services, in other words, the two core members of the FIVE EYES alliance...

The latest tranche of slides points to a number of deception programs being carried out on the web. These include alias development and masquerading (which includes the employment of «sock puppet» personae already in use by the U.S. military to disrupt and influence the Internet), mass messaging (or spamming) and «call bombing,» propaganda, and «pushing stories».

These tactics have been refined since the CIA and its George Soros-financed non-governmental organization activist allies brought about the «Arab Spring» overthrow of governments in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, and Yemen, as well as the bloody civil war in Syria. In Ukraine, the democratically-elected government of President Viktor Yanukovych fell more quickly than either Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak or Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi simply because the Western corporate media fully cooperated in FIVE EYES efforts to activate armies of sock puppets with aliases who disseminated anti-Yanukovych propaganda and, with the assistance of the global corporate news media, «pushed stories».

In the case of Ukraine, the «pushed stories» were products of CIA, NSA, GCHQ, British MI-6, and Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) propaganda mills working in close collaboration with such intelligence agency fronts as Soros's Open Society Institute, Freedom House, Hudson Institute, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Heritage Foundation, and Demos of the UK.

Western intelligence agencies «pushed stories» through the use of Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Youtube. These applications are part and parcel of GCHQ and NSA Computer Network Information Operations (CNIO). Outside the realm of technological warfare, JTRIG admits that it employs «credential harvesting» against «foreign news agencies». In fact, spies and provocateurs masquerading as spies were not only discovered filing phony news reports from Ukraine but also from Venezuela during simultaneous anti-government rioting in that country. Fake journalists were also exposed in Egypt, Thailand, China, and Russia....

The Ukraine operation was also in many ways a set-piece operation. A set-piece is a predictable operation that has been successfully employed in the past. Certainly, the Maidan Square uprising was almost a carbon copy, but with much more violence, of the Western-engineered 2004 Orange Revolution in Ukraine. The same template, developed by the CIA-financed OTPOR provocateurs against the government of Slobodon Milosevic in Serbia and refined by the Center for Applied Non-Violent Action and Strategies (CANVAS), was used in «themed revolutions» in Georgia, Iran, Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, Venezuela, Burma, Maldives, Thailand, and other countries, as well as in the latest coup d'etat in Ukraine.

Disruption operations were also used at an early stage in Ukraine chiefly by the Soros- and Zionist-funded FEMEN movement, an anti-Christian and anti-Muslim group that works closely with Pussy Riot and Voina social order disruptors in Russia. Attacks by FEMEN on symbols of Christianity in Ukraine helped spark the social disorder that ultimately led to the rioting in central Kyiv. Neo-Nazi and extreme right-wing Ukrainian nationalists became agitated by the attacks on Christian crosses and churches in the country and cited the overt support that Zionist Jews like American Jed Sunden, an investor in Ukrainian media companies like the Kyiv Post, gave to FEMEN protesters.

Employing agents from neo-Nazi, Zionist, and nationalist factions is spelled out by one JTRIG slide, which calls for the «identification and exploitation of fracture points» in a targeted country, region, or other element. The intent of such exploitation is to create «tension» through the use of «pre-existing cleavages» and competing «ideological differences». These factors are coupled with «things that push a group together» like «shared opposition» and «common beliefs». These exploitation factors were of beneficial use in the type of successful intelligence operation that took place in Ukraine.

Talk about the Kettle calling the pot black. George Soros is a leading member of the NWO, a group that according to Ted Turner wants to massacre 90% of the people on the planet. For him to be even talking about people wanting freedom while having spent all his life working to remove people's freedom is so shameless it makes one wonder if he has gone insane.

Putin is not blind. Fortunately he can also see through you and your ilk.

Freedom-  the word- you talk about-  The world needs Freedom from criminals like you. At the very least your type needs to be incarcerated for the rest of your lives.

And if Europe survives the bankster frauds and yours, it will be due to Putin.

If you omit the leaders in the EU ( all bought and paid for), the people will ensure peace and propsperity.

No more banksters controlling countries and the world.

So who are the agressors? And Putin's role as Saviour has been brought about by them.

Your assumption that I agree with what our current communist in chief has done in the middle east is incorrect.

This is what communists do, steal peoples freedom under the guise of 'for the greater good' when it is really just about stuffing their pockets and imposing their tiny brains will, by force, on a population of people.

If Putin is the savior I am God almighty.

If you want your freedom, you can have your freedom. The American people are free, free to choose whether to have dinner at McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Taco Bell, or Pizza Hut. Freedom to choose the brand of toothpaste, soap and detergent to use. Thus is the definition of freedom in the 21st century ruled by economic imperialism. When will the masses come out of their drug- or TV-induced coma? When will clarity of reason prevail over endless dogma and divisive propaganda oozing from the organs of state?

Thanks for the kudos. "Paying for" forfeits meaning when the medium of exchange (money) is an illusion, conjured up from the dreams of lotto players by a secretive association of private bankers unfortunately misnamed "the Federal Reserve" (which is neither federal nor any kind of reserve; a more apt name would be "Feral Preserve"). I believe you meant "earning" rather than "paying for", where "earning" means the excess of production over consumption. So sad that it has been turned into overconsumption, but that is America's motto: anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

Soros is right about the current EU structure being incomplete and that it probably faces years of stagnation without full integration.

But who the hell wants the EU to become a fully integrated USE anyway??

Answer: only the likes of Tony Blair (aka The Antichrist) who sees himself as the 1st unelected fascist President of Europe and the unelected elites in Brussels (Barroso & Co) and some national leaders (who mostly keep the integration project a close secret inside their own countries for fear of revolt by their citizens. The UK is a perfect example of this, where Labour & Tory alike both fully support full integration but refuse to talk about it in public. If pressed, they create a diversion).

But when it comes to the EU financial crises being over, Soros needs to get a grip. If he believes that, he's living in fantasyland.

The EU is on a very shaky foundation of a few good ideas (no barriers to trade, movement of goods, capital, labor) and a really bad one (common currency without fiscal integration). The bad idea was a mickey Germany slipped into the EU punchbowl and serves the interests of the German industrial complex at the expense of weaker trading partners and the periphery.

How long can a large bunch of unelected bureaucrats in Brussles dictate to an entire continent the proper way to grow cabbage (2,700+ pages of regulations) and virtually every other facet of production, trade and governance? These marionattes are suspended from the invisible hands of German controllers and move to the music emanating from the hallowed halls of Berlin, with an occasional wink thrown at France and Belgium.

The euro still has value only because compared to the hryvna, the forint, the lek, etc. it still looks precious.

Nice piece.

And we should note that the UK government and British people have never really accepted one of the key pillars of the Single Market Treaty: the free movement of people & labour.

Until one of the senior apparatchiks in Brussels got angry and corrected the UK Govt, we were still calling other EU people arriving in Britain as "immigrants". Now changed to "migrants" at the insistence of Brussels. And of course this whole subject of EU people movement is where Nigel Farage gets his support from. I can easily see the UK Govt finding a way of blocking migration which will fundamentally undermine the whole Single Market Treaty.

Just returned from a visit to Japan, including its three largest cities. If what I've seen is the result of two decades of stagnation, bring it on for Europe. In terms of quality of life, disposable incomes, innovation and societal harmony, Japan is way beyond most European countries.

Their economy only appears to be stagnating because their population is shrinking, as is natural in any developed country, and they are culturally disinclined to let immigration make up for it.

Japanese stagnation is a myth and a lie, and any agenda supported by it deeply suspect.

Japan has a very real and rare luxury of a having a very homogenous society. Their belief system are primarily the same and they still love their country.

As opposed to something like the US where a generation+ of useful idiots have been taught that America is a horrible and prejudice place and unless you become a high ranking executive right out of school it is only because of the 'social injustice' in America. We have bitterly opposed groups which fight each other everyday and try to implement their version of change in America, hardly conducive to a productive economy.

That's hysterical.  Soros is lecturing on individual freedom?  He's just pissed because it's not his group of One World Govt boyz that are in charge there.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

George Soros and Maurice Strong are strong advocates of Agenda 21 and Neo-Feudalism. It's time to cull the herd and depopulate. It's a death cult for old white guys.

Soros? Wasn't it his company working with our oligarchs under the Yelstin regime in rewriting the Russian children's textbooks to be more Western friendly and blame everything on others? Seems the final curtain call is approaching rather soon and all the NWO/GPS friendly worker bees like Mr. S is busy doing their bit in spreading our lies, as well as spreading our corporate corruption. Too bad he can't take it to the grave, what with all those grave robbers and such. Enjoy it while it lasts George, and if 'they' pomised you 'protection' underground, don't be too surprised to later find out that your services are no longe required, thus your seat has been given away to another. Goodbye George, see you in the next cycle.... or not.
