Missing Malaysian Flight Mystery Deepens: Pilot Investigated, Foul Play Suspected

Tyler Durden's picture

It has been over a week since Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared without a trace, and the world is nowhere closer to finding either where the airplane and its 239 passengers and crew are to be found, nor what actually happened. Instead, what initially was speculation about a midair disintegration, and subsequently suggested a potential case of airplane terrorism gone wrong, has now transformed into a theory that the pilot and/or crew may have been engaged in "foul play", especially since it appears that based on tracking data, that the plane flew for nearly seven hours after someone "skilled" purposefully shut down its communications and tracking beacon: possibly indicative of a stealthy midair hijacking. However, the same satellite data gave no precise location, and the plane's altered course could have taken it anywhere from central Asia to the southern Indian Ocean.

More importantly, and what is missing so far, is that if indeed this was a hijacking, then where is the list of demands? Or was this merely repossession of something already onboard the plane, i.e. theft, ostesnisbly of something in the cargo hold, or the kidnapping or repossession of one or more passengers on board the plane? Also, if indeed the plane is safely somewhere else, as per the pilot's wishes, then how and why are the 200+ passengers, most of whom likely have portable communication devices, keeping quiet?

On the manifest above, while the main focus so far has been on the two passengers with stolen passports, we wonder how long until the two Ukrainians are thrown into the mix.

As for the topic of the plane's possible location considering the latest satellite tracking data, the Malaysian officials on Saturday released this map showing two corridors that the plane might be located on.

WaPo reports:

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said Saturday that, based on newly analyzed satellite data, the plane could have made last made contact anywhere along one of two corridors: one stretching from northern Thailand toward the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan border, the other, more southern one stretching from Indonesia to the remote Indian Ocean.

Although U.S. officials previously said they believed the plane could have remained in the air for several extra hours, Najib said Saturday that the flight was still communicating with satellites until 8:11 a.m. — 7 ½ hours after takeoff, and more than 90 minutes after it was due in Beijing. There was no further communication with the plane after that time, Najib said. If the plane was still in the air, it would have been nearing its fuel limit.

The U.S. official said the search area is somewhere along the arc or circumference of a circle with a diameter of thousands of miles.

The new leads about the plane’s path, though ambiguous, have drastically changed a search operation involving more than a dozen nations. Malaysia on Saturday said that efforts would be terminated in the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea, the spot where the plane first disappeared from civilian radar.

Malaysian authorities are now likely to look for help from other countries in Southeast and South Asia, seeking mysterious or unidentified readings that their radar systems might have picked up.

The largely clueless Malaysian police, with few leads to puruse, have rapidly shifted their suspicion on the team of pilot and co-pilot. Reuters reports that minutes after Malaysian leader Najib Razak outlined investigators' latest findings about flight MH370 at a news conference, police began searching the house of the aircraft's 53-year-old captain for any evidence that he could have been involved in foul play.

Investigative sources told Reuters on Friday they believed the plane was following a commonly used navigational route when it was last spotted early on Saturday, northwest of Malaysia.

Their suspicion has hardened that it was flown off-course by the pilot or co-pilot, or someone else with detailed knowledge of how to fly and navigate a large commercial aircraft. No details have emerged of any passengers or crew with militant links or psychological problems that could explain a motive for sabotaging the flight.

The experienced captain, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, was a flying enthusiast who spent his off days tinkering with a flight simulator of the plane that he had set up at home, current and former co-workers said. Malaysia Airlines officials did not believe he would have sabotaged the flight.

The 27-year-old co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid was religious and serious about his career, family and friends said, countering news reports suggesting he was a cockpit Romeo who was reckless on the job.

A photo of the flight simulator set up in the pilot's house is shown below:

AFP provides some additional perspective on the pilot:

An Australian television report broadcast an interview with a young South African woman who said Fariq and another pilot colleague invited them into the cockpit of a flight he co-piloted from Phuket, Thailand to Kuala Lumpur in 2011. Since 9/11, passengers have been prohibited from entering cockpits during a flight. Malaysia Airlines has said it was "shocked" by the report, but that it could not verify the claims.

The son of a high-ranking official in the public works department of a Malaysian state, Fariq joined Malaysia Airlines when he was 20.

He is a mild-mannered "good boy" who regularly visited his neighbourhood mosque outside Kuala Lumpur, said the mosque's imam, or spiritual leader.

The far more seasoned Zaharie joined MAS in 1981 and had logged 18,365 hours of flying time.

Malaysian media reports quoted colleagues calling Zaharie a "superb pilot", who also served as an examiner, authorised by the Malaysian Civil Aviation Department, to conduct simulator tests for pilots.

The whole passenger manifest is likely to be re-examined.

So if the pilots were not involved, could it have been a hijacking by someone among the passengers (with or without the complict participation of the pilors)? Here suspicion will once again fall on two passengers who boarded with stolen EU passports. Interpol had identified the two men as Iranians: Seyed Mohammed Reza Delavar, who used a stolen Italian passport, and Pouria Nourmohammadi, who used an Austrian one. Both passports had been stolen in Thailand. Interpol chief Ronald Noble said last Tuesday that the men were thought to be illegal immigrants who had travelled from Doha to Kuala Lumpur in a round-about bid to reach Europe.

Interpol's information suggested the pair were "probably not terrorists", Noble said at the time.

Adam Dolnik, a professor of terrorism studies at the University of Wollongong in Australia, said he still doubted that organised terrorism was behind the Malaysian plane mystery.

While a group like Al-Qaeda "would love to bring down an airliner", a Malaysia Airlines plane made little sense as a target and the stolen passports had an "amateurish" element, Dolnik said. "Terrorists don't do (hijackings), because the chances of success have gone down," he said, citing the challenge of bringing weapons onto a plane and subduing other passengers.

There has been no indication yet of any possible terrorist involvement. But some academics suggest the theory requires further consideration. "Investigations should focus on criminal and terrorist motives," said Rohan Gunaratna, a terrorism expert at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University.

"It is likely that the aircraft was hijacked by a team knowledgeable about airport and aircraft security. It is likely they are supported by a competent team from the ground."

Which is why instead of merely looking at the passenger manifest, perhaps it is time to look at the cargo manifest as well. Was there anything on board the plane, one serving the all-important Beijing route, that may have made the stealthy theft of the plane a sufficiently attractive risk/return proposition to the pilots?

Purely hypothetically, a 777 has a cargo hold that, in addition to passengers and baggage, can hold somewhere between 20 and 25 tons. 25 tons of gold, on a less than public Malaysia-China "official import-bypassing" route, would have a value of a little over $1 billion, four times more than the value of a new Boeing 777. So perhaps instead of robbing the cargo from the plane, some more enterprising thought would be to get the pilots in on the play, and steal the entire plane, mid-flight.

Of course, all of the above is purely hypothetical, and we are confident once the plane is uncovered safe and sound (or not as the case may be) and with all the cargo accounted for, that yet another crazy conspiracy theory can be disproved.

And still, we wonder, would Malaysia Airlines be so kind as the disclose just what "other" cargo may have been on board the mysterious flight. Inquiring minds are dying to know.

* * *

Stepping away from the conspiracy ledge for a minute, here is the WSJ with the four main unanswered questions about the flight:

Was it a hijacking?

While Mr. Najib suggested that the plane's disappearance was due to "deliberate action," he stopped short of categorizing the event as a hijack. "I wish to be very clear: We are still investigating all possibilities as to what caused MH370 to deviate from its original flight path."

Aviation experts say that the likelihood of a hijack has increased significantly with the latest information, and a key to solving the mystery is to profile in detail every person aboard the jet. "Everything points to a hijack or something that was planned way in advance," said Mark Martin, an aviation consultant.

Did the plane crash, or did it land somewhere?

No further information was available about the state of the widebody jet and the 239 people on board after the last satellite communication was sent from it. There was no indication as to whether the aircraft crashed into the ocean—as several aviation experts have earlier suspected—or if it had actually landed.

Though experts say it is unlikely such a large jet could land undetected, investigators are actively pursuing the notion that the plane was diverted "with the intention of using it later for another purpose," a person familiar with the matter said earlier to The Wall Street Journal.

The search will now likely involve scores of other countries in South and Central Asia following the new information, raising the possibility that the jet may have reached some of the world's more politically unstable regions.

Whose deliberate actions?

Mr. Najib says the nation's authorities have "refocused" their investigation onto the crew and passengers. Experts say that the 777's multiple communication systems could only have been manually disabled by someone or people with detailed knowledge of the sophisticated jet's inner workings, thus putting the focus on the pilots or with passengers who have aviation experience.

"Whoever flew the aircraft was an outstanding pilot who was familiar with radar evasion techniques and fuel-burn management," said Mr. Martin, the aviation consultant.

Why can't the search parameters be narrowed?

Satellite information disclosed on Saturday indicate that the plane may have taken two possible tracks: a northerly corridor as far as the border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, and a southerly route extending to the southern Indian Ocean. Mr. Najib explained that the type of satellite data couldn't confirm the precise location of the plane when it last made contact. Investigators are working to "further refine the information" on satellite data.

The red lines may or may not indicate where the plane was. As somebody in the WSJ pointed out, they are dependent on the time difference between the time stamps when the message was sent, and when the message was received. If there is a constant offset in the time stamps, all bets are off. You would need the history of the evolution of those arcs.

Fact:

No transmissions from any of the multitude Ephones on board were received  after the critical time of the transponder failure. Ergo... All the passengers were simultaneously relieved of their phones or incapacitated. Not a single transmission from these units has been logged since. The logical reason is a sudden decrompression of the cabin and subsequent passing out of the passengers.

Perhaps the pilot(s) managed to make a partial course correction under duress before themselves succumbing, leaving the plane on autopilot pointed out to sea.

This make the likely cause some failure of the planes mechanical or electrical system... an explosion would have sent it into the sea.

Boeing stock (and various insurers) is liable to take a hit on such a conclusion so maybe that conclusion will never be reached.

Anyone notice any weird trading patterns on Boeing stock or related parties who may be liable? before or after the incident?

Sudden decompression would not account for transponders switched off. Flying for 6 or 7 hours more rules out electircal or mechanical failure?

Sat, 03/15/2014 - 19:38 | 4553175 TrulyStupid
TrulyStupid's picture

I keep recalling the incident in which golfer Payne Stewart died. Onboard his private jet there was a sudden decompression due to failure of the rear bulkhead and all passengers and crew became unconscious... the private jet flew on autopilot for thousands of miles until it crashed into a field..out of fuel. Its heading remained constant, but its altitude varied quiet dramatically during the course of its flight...reminiscent of this final flight.

A couple of jets were scrambled to intercept the flight and the pilots described seeing their doomed counterparts slumped unconscious in their places with the windows partially frosted over.

Upon thinking more on this point a structural failure would account for the sudden decompression without crashing the plane. A structural failure along the fuselage under the aerial (777 service bulletins have pointed to the appearance of cracks in the skin beside this aerial in other 777s) would account for the transponder quiting as well.

Neither Boeing or Malaysian airlines (faulty maintenance?) would welcome this conclusion. The MSM pimping the neo-con terrorist narrative are unlikely to welcome this either. Much better to lay this at the feet of unnamed drooling, fanatical Muslim terrorists whom we all know are responsible for all Evil in the World.

TrulyStupid you might be barking up a possible tree. You can be assured the safety reps are agressively climbing up this tree limb. Most crashes in 3rd world countries especially involving a national airline include face saving. Politics is probably the biggest problem for air safety and us dumb passengers chasing the cheapest fares.

So this pilot has 18,000 hours of flight experience and still doesn't get enough cockpit time that he needs a simulator at home.   I find that one hard to believe.

Seems he had his own little flight school and was training his partners in crime.   I'd be taking a serious look at the other Maly passengers on that list as well as the location of their extended families.

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }

The plane was taken over, the people on board had their cellphones taken from them, (or were all gassed including crew then the plane was remotely controlled as it is “fly by wire”) it was flown to an area were it was refueled, armed with a nuke and hidden for a later date.

Whatever the target is, it will be used as a pretense for a war in Iraq.

But that's just my theory =)

Oddities:

Maersk Alabama was transporting something deadly enough to require special forces guarding it, 2 of which were found dead from an “overdose”.

Around the time of the plane “disappearing” all cellphone service in the Spratly Islands were jammed.

Last direction of plane was towards Diego Garcia, which has a strip long enough for a 777.

Perhaps (crazy conspiracy theory, not proven fact by many, many miles) the cargo of the 'Bama was stolen and the Seals killed during that event.  Stolen by whom?  China/Russia?  Then maybe that cargo was being smuggled into China via the 777.  The US detected this and hijacked the plane enroute.

If we end up having WWIII over Ukraine then we probably won't live long enough to read the history of what happened.  If we don't have WWIII then we probably won't live long enough to read the history of what happened.  Still waiting for the Kennedy investigation to be made public....

It's common when you have a boat to blow off your flares every 1-2 years and replace them with new ones.

Many a reason why this could have reported 'fire', but the fact is the satellites are excellent on heat source and all government sources with satellites are claiming they didn't see a thermal image.

My Theory

A catastrophic failure has been ruled out, at least as the reason to cause the plane to disappear in the first place.

It seems highly unlikely that anyone would be so motivated, capable, and financed to take over such a plan so mysteriously only to dump it in the ocean with complete anonymity.  We wouldn't know who or why.  There would only be 239 dead and a destroyed airplane.  There hasn't even been a claim of responsibility by "the terrorists" who always claim responsibility for every little bad thing that happens.  No, terrorism as the average person understands the word was not the issue.

What else might have happened?

There were no hijackers on the plane.

None of the crew or passengers survived the takeover.

The plane was diverted on a path that would not allow for local civilian or military radar to track it and landed safely far away from the last point of contact.  This location is most likely the least likely place one would look.

The hijacking was somewhat risky and certainly lethal so it was performed remotely.  First, at least one of the plane's networks was compromised, read hacked.  This would have been easiest to do on the ground.  Once in the air cockpit to ground communications were cut so there would be no calls for help or descriptions of the attack.  Controls were rerouted to a ground based pilot.  Further plane to ground communications were being cut as the punchlist was worked through.  The attack team was small for secrecy.  The cabin and cockpit were depressurized the plane sent to 45,000 feet in order to dispose of the humans-on-board problem.  This is why cell phones would be reported to work but not be answered for a day after the disappearance.  The plane was fully intact but the people were dead.  The plane was then maneuvered toward its next landing point which just happened to be well outside of all civilian radar and most military radar.

The most logical place to secretly land a plane and either refuel and takeoff again or hide it would be Diego Garcia, a US military base.

Purpose:  Unknown.

Current location:  Unknown.

Passengers and crew:  Fish food

Next steps

Find the plane:  Start looking at runways that could handle the big 777 and hangers that could hide it.

Motives:  Find out who on the plane had value, what on the plane had value, the value of the plane.

Suspects:  Start looking at everyone who had access to the plane while on the ground for the past month.

Just in case, figure out how this plane could be disguised to be accepted as a regular passenger aircraft, especially in regards to automated electronic communications.

Satellite THERMAL imaging all confirm there was no explosion, so if she went down, she went down cold.

Planes do dissapear in 1964 a plane heading to LA from GUAM(?) dissapeared and was never heard from again, this shit happens.

Let's say the plane went down near a fishing vessel ( usually pirates ) in this part of the world, they could have collected all floatables to be sorted out later.

Its assumed the plane went down when it ran out of fuel, thus no oil slick of importance to be seen.

No doubt CIA Sabatogue, don't ask how, ask who PROFITS from 150+ chinese people getting killed, just like in KUNMING, who benefits is creating distrust in CHINA of their government and its power to make their people 'safe'.

Tell me if no one was threateneed and it was a large bag, say, 100k USD or more each, who would say "oh no, I'm far too honest to take that money!"

If you own a cell tower in a flight path then you will see the whoosh of devices desperately seeking validation as the backwash from a 777.

You can't fart anymore without a sensor detecting it (and releasing an 'odour de beacoup' whislt tweeting Time:Date:Place:Device:Userdata:Etc

If a 777 passed over my house someone would see it, FB and TWTr would spike with refrences.

You can track anything on the internet by the backwash the event creates.

The answer lies in the logs.

Does anyone seriously believe that you could fly a plane the size of a 777 anywhere on this planet for more than 5 minutes before you had a fighter jet up your jacksie unless you had pre-approved flightplans, deviate from plan, jet>jacksie.

Based on interviews, the pilot does not appear to be mentally unstabe/capable of this.  On the otherhand, the 27 year old copilot ...not much known.  I think it is interesting that at only 27 he was copiloting this large aircraft.  And a "good" boy, very religious, etc.  Apparently also to be married.

He was clearly an overachiever.  Could it be possible he was pathologically insecure; even to the point of suicide?  Maybe the relationship wasn't/coudn't work out, for whatever reason(s).  For some, a suicide would solve their deep seated humiliation/shame.  For this man, perhaps, he had to totally disappear from this world, even if it required taking others with him.  If this was the intent, I'd say he probably succeeded.

Finally, interesting to read through all the disinformation.  Malaysia has egg on their face for not reporting the military radar contact earlier.  And how about Vietnam.  When did they report the plane not arriving?  And of course, the US has the technology to know alot more than they want to admit; thus the ruse about the engine monitoring system helping track the plane.  Rolls Royce still claims the sytem wasn't on.  Bottom line:  Once the US got busy analyzing all the satellite info, they pretty much know it went down in the Indian Ocean.  But of course, they can't say that so they present "two" possiblities.  Of course, the US sent their ship to look in the Indian Ocean and others to look up towards India.  Nothing is ever as it appears.

9/11 update (good to see them finally admit it):

There are fears the missing Malaysia Airways jet may have been 'hijacked by hackers using a mobile phone.'

Intelligence experts reportedly believe the plane could have been controlled remotely using a mobile device.

Those involved could alter the plane's speed, altitude or direction using the mobile, the Daily Express reports.

Culprits could range from terrorists to a foreign government.

Dr Sally  Leivesley, a British anti-terrorism expert, told the paper: "Thee appears to be an element of planning from someone with a very sophisticated systems engineering understanding."

To me it's very very clear that the US is behind the disappearance.

When they could do a 9-11 and keep it under wraps, this must be a piece of cake.

The motive is apparently mischief. What kind, when and where it will show up is the question.

It's very evident that the Bankster cabal controls all the US & E.U. Politicians and governments.

Our basic lives and family lives have been changed by them, without little realisation from the general populace.

For over ten years, technology has existed, whether or not implemented, by which an airliner in a 9-11 situation, could be taken over remotely (away from pilots), and flown somewhere for safekeeping.  This technology would be relatively simple to implement on new planes and not difficult to retrofit on many older ones.

Admittedly, the possibility of hijacking via hacking sounds conspiratorial, but this case just defies other explanation. If one of the pilots disabled the other, what was his motive?  To crash the plane?  If so, why fly it for hundreds of miles?  This just seems too sophisticated to be anything a government operation.  And with all the satellites out there, one surely recorded the necessary data to ascertain where the plane went.

Me, Even if i had the money or was the CEO of an airline I would not buy a Boeing

It's very clear that systems are built in to take over. Possibly this is a US Defense secret worked into the electronic systems by the cabal to take over all Boeings in the event of war or something similar. Like all Siemens electronics systems can release the Stuxnet into high level critical areas. I guess now people will tend to see and agree after knowing what the NSA does now.

Here is the crux of the matter used on 9-11 as basic proof.

American Airlines Flight 11, a Boeing 767-200ER
United Flight 175, also a Boeing 767-200ER,
American Airlines Flight 77 , a Boeing 757-200.
United Airlines Flight 93, Boeing 757-200.

Airbus should never have a problem selling their aircraft henceforth. Boeings are for the West.

Let us see how many cancellation of current Boeing orders we get.

Also madness for any one to buy any American fighter planes. They will be zilch when their use is not authorised by the Cabal and it's minions. Or for that matter drones.

I do not even know what to say.  It is just really hard for me to believe that a triple 7 just gets lost with all of the tech we have these days.  I have given it ten days now before saying anything.  I have seen all sorts of proposed zig-zag flight patterns and heard all sorts of the same hypotheses you have.  No one seems to be able to even come up with a good lie.  I am so used to being lied to that I am more suspicious now than ever.

It's pretty fucking clear the flight went down for whatever reason.  May all their souls be at peace.  Come on, give the families some closure.  Maybe it is time to admit that the Boeing 777 is an expensive piece of shit and that it has problems and has had problems from the start.  You do not need a link from me.

On the other hand, the crash/dissappearance of the plane might be just a chapter in a greater crime novel...one of the pilots was on CNN two weeks before the flight...perhaps the lurid tales of a 777 or 787 crashing into an American city will be turned into reality - and the media can claim (falsely?) it was the selfsame plane that was "missing".

Of course, if it proves to be a Beslan-in-the-air, i have my suspicions that the same minds are at work...

No, but after this incident there might copycats.

As for who is responsible and why it is being covered up, i guess that certain people are still of the opinion that certain other folks can yet step back from the insane, reckless, terroristic etc. course of action and its consequences.

For now. it is "only" a media circus with presumably 239 victims, not a geopolitical issue. And escalation will begin with another media circus...cause that's how the cadre rolls.

Look at it this way, let's say several countries found out that someone was recreating 9/11 lite with a plane with respective citizens onboard..."just stay cool, you had a lapse of judgement...put the gun down" might work on the neighbourhood thug.

I know 3 things with certainty: the 777 is a superb aircraft; security at KL int'l airport is haphazard at best; and this wouldn't be the first time an MH a/c is involved in terrorism plot. My inclination from Day 1 was to suspect foul play.

The fact Malaysian authorities only began a serious investigation of the crew yesterday underscores the point the Malaysian authorities have not been on the ball on this from the start. On Day 4 we hear the Malaysians have radar tracking data that leads them to believe the plane may have flown for longer than initially suspected. Why did that take over 72-hours to germinate? Considering the stakes involved the efforts to resolve this appear almost farcical.

and everything is recorded.Lesson: There used to be basically 2 systems of seeing an airplane which was its primary radar signature (a blip) and a secondary radar system that started as IFF back in WWII with transponders that transmitted a signal to the fighter command that they were friendly. These old IFF transponders evolved into mode 1, 2 , and 3 aircraft transponders. Mode 3A/C is the basic civilian airplane ATC mode. If you turn the cockpit transponder mode to SDBY or OFF, you just made yourself a problem for ATC depending where you are. As in the 9-11 hijackings, the enroute ARTCC's had little primary target tracking capability and if a mode 3 transponder was turned off, the mode 3 track went into coast (flashing CST at the bottom of the data block) and the airplane escaped detection until it crashed. But could this be something more? I honestly don't know.

"U.S. investigators suspect that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 stayed in the air for about four hours past the time it reached its last confirmed location

Communications satellites picked up faint electronic pulses from Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 after it went missing on Saturday, but the signals gave no indication about where the stray jet was heading nor its technical condition, a source close to the investigation said on Thursday. The "pings" equated to an indication that the aircraft's maintenance troubleshooting systems were ready to communicate with satellites if needed, but no links were opened because Malaysia Airlines and others had not subscribed to the full troubleshooting service, the source said. Latest News on MH 370: http://tersee.com/#!q=Malaysia+Airlines&t=text " This morning homeland security saying pilots are suspected. May be right, but why was not the full "troubleshooting service" suscribed? Oversight or prior knowledge of future events? Something smells.

They now say it disappeared from their radar tracking systems after it had flown over Vietnam. They also note there was another plane right next to it at about the 7 o'clock position showing up on the radar. MH370 then suddenly disappeared off radar and seconds later the other plane disappeared.

The inference I draw from that is the other plane was a military plane belonging to ??? which shot it down.

Strange that I never heard the names of the pilot and co-pilot mentioned before reading this story.

My take:  The airpane was stollen to be used as a flying bomb.  Why Malaysia?  Lax security and and a good location to start losing a plane given the poor radar coverage in the area.  Given this is a high stakes operation preperations for undertanding how to disable/provide false data would have been made.  This is not rocket science, truly.  Since 9/11 the world has been relatively quiet of trully spectacular terrorist events.  Using an airplane as a flying dirty bomb makes sense.  There is no downside for failure here by terrorists.  if it doesn't work it would be one of many.  If it does they change the world.

This will change airplane travel forever.

Some Chinese familymembers contacted relatives on the flight with their mobile phone, and it aswered..(...), or at least there was connection.. Why don't they get all the cellnumbers of crew and passengers and check the data of roaming - providers as where those connection signals came from ?...

I must say that I'm disappointed and actually a little shocked that so few of my fellow ZH veterans realize that this was a covert operation utilizing an AWACS radar system to block the signal from civilian radr, hijack the plane using planted operatives and the redirect for landing. The 20 Semiconductor employees are probably being waterboarded as we speak. As for the rest of the passengers? Many explanations are possible. Anything from summarily disposed of in true covert ops "cover your ass" fashion or simply that the manifest had dummy names, many of the actual passengers were assets and not regular people, etc. Since it was a covert ops, the truth will NEVER come out, even if it's totally exposed, just like 9/11.

Malaysian military had radar tracking of the plane for over an hour after civilian radar lost contact. Black boxes CANNOT be destroyed in explosions. Radar exists to track planes in flight rEGARDLESS or transponder activity. This is why rogue civilain aircraft are trackable, which reasons why a jumbo jet would NEVER be lost on radar unless there was sophisticated sabotage and spoofing. Google "AWACS hijack flight 370" to get the deets on why an AWACS hijacking it the ONLY plausible explanation based on technical knowledge of civilian/military radar systems and air traffic control protocols...

I thought this was Fight Club, not a fucking Mickey Mouse Club daycare... Amateur Hour. What does this mean? ZH forum has been hijacked by .gov trolls and idiots? Really. Where is the fucking brainpower?

Where is the fucking brainpower?

Where is yours?

Do you have any idea how impossible it is to hide a 777-200ER? This is a BIG aircraft. It needs a runway of given length and spec and they are all on Google Maps.

If the plane should mysteriously show up, it would be instantly recognisable and there is no benefit to it being stolen and it's not possible to hide it - you think this thing landed on a secret Golden Triangle runway operated by The Company for some delusion black op you have dreamt?

Shit happens, but in your addled brain 'nothing like this happens at this level'. Pilots are human, mistakes occur, pitots freeze up, and thousands of other occurrences.

This is why rogue civilain aircraft are trackable, which reasons why a jumbo jet would NEVER be lost on radar unless there was sophisticated sabotage and spoofing.

Unless it flew into the ground or water, you moron. That would make it disappear from radar.

The likely result is that it flew into the South China Sea at many hundreds of kms/h.

a crash is inconsistent with the evidence at hand. cell phones still ringing? one even picked up and hung up. no black box? they are designed to survive explosions and crashes. try again leretard

The largest rescue flotilla in Chinese naval history - four warships and five civilian and commercial vessels - speeds overnight to waters between Malaysia and Vietnam. Ten Chinese satellites join the hunt

Night: Airline announces it will give 31,000 yuan (HK$39,200) to relatives of each passenger as a special condolence payment

Payments made to families before the investigation begins?

Not even Kenneth Feinberg would approve that!

The plane was destroyed.

So how about this scenario:

The plane was hijacked by people who are well familiar with flight technology.

Transponders and telemetry devices were re-programmed on the ground ahead of time, so that when the systems were turned off in flight on 370 it became untraceable.

A second junker plane with the 370 programming info crossed paths with 370 at the point where it shows 370 turned away and activated the pre-programmed systems onboard that would transmit the limited info to simulate a distressed 777 flight - #370.

370 actually carried on a re-directed route north - perhaps to North Korea.

Possible?

Interesting theory about "valuable cargo"... But does the flight crew have "assigned" and scheduled flights? Or do they just get their legally required rest bewteen flights and wait for a crew dispatcher to give them an assignment?
