Fort Hood Shooter, Three Others Reported Dead, 14 Injured, Obama Says "Will Get To The Bottom Of What Happened"
The Fort Hood shooting appears to be over, with the shooter reportedly dead of a self-inflicted wound and according to the latest CNN update, three other people dead, and as many as 14 others injured, some in critical condition. Reports of a second shooter are so far unconfirmed. CNN also reports that the name of the shooter is 34 year old Ivan Lopez. The shooting is also said to not be terrorism-related, but instead a "solider on solider" attack.

UPDATE: Fort Hood's Directorate of Emergency Services has an initial report that a shooter is dead but this is unconfirmed.
The injured personnel are being transported to Carl R. Darnall Medical Center and other local hospitals. Numerous law enforcement agencies are in support and on the scene. The number of injured are not confirmed at this time. No further details are known at this time.

I just got off the phone with the vice chairman of the joint chiefs of staff to get the latest on the shooting at fort hood. Obviously, we’re all following it closely. The situation is fluid right now, but my national security team in close contact not just with Defense Department but with the FBI. They are working with folks on ground to determine exactly what happened and ensure that everyone is secure. Want to assure all of us we going to get to bottom of what happened. Any shooting is troubling. Obviously this reopened pain of what happened at Fort Hoo 5 years ago. We know these familes, we know the service to their country and the sacrifices that they make. Obviously our thoughts and prayers are with the entire community and we are going to do everything we can to make the community of fort hood has what it needs to deal with a tough situation but also any potential aftermath. We’re heartbroken that something like this might have happened again. I don’t what on the comment on facts until we know exactly what happened. But just for now I would hope that everyone across the country keep the families of Fort Hood in our thoughts and our prayers. The folks there have sacrificed so much on behalf of our freedom. Many of the people there have been on multiple tours of Iraq and Afghanistan, they served with valor, they served with distinction. At their home base they need to feel safe. We don’t yet know what happened tonight but obviously that sense of safety has been broken once again. We need to find out exactly what happened.
And last but not least, Obama promises that he will shortly get to the bottom of this.

My sympathies with the victims, every one of which qualified to shoot back in basic and was denied the ability to do so.
With all due respect. I served in the army in Nuremburg during the discotech bombings in 86 and 87 and we were on curfew and the whole works and we still didn't get live ammo, even though you could say we were on high alert. Additionally you didn't even see your rifle when you weren't "employed", it is in the armory with all the other rifles. Even the guards at the face of the buildings didn't get live ammo. We often questioned and laughed at this notion. But here's the thing....if you ever lived with half of the fucking psychopathic or dumbass people in the military you would understand the policy. Sleep with one eye open....and not for the enemy.
That being said, Nowadays I always look for the false flag first. The clues will come in the days that follow.

In over 50 years of paying attention to news, I cannot recall an incident like this prior to the first shooting at Fort Hood. That includes the Vietnam conflict. I haven't heard stories of it from any previous era either. Now it is 2 at same place. Does this happen at military bases of other countries? This smells as fishy as hell........
