absolute rubbish my friend.

since the navy seals and the sas,the cia and the mi6 and the mossad went into this theatre of opewrations drug production is down.

exports of heroin have never been so low low low since the us marines, brits and other countries came in.

every day are boyz hunt down poppies to burn.

the poor taliban are indeed poor.

we have turned afghanistan into a paradise a mirror reflection of are own value system.

the very idea that c130s are shipping 100s of tons of h from helmand to camp bondsteal is frankly rather silly.

some folks say camp bondsteel is overly engineered for it's official purpose and is more like a fort knox rubbish.

no heroin by the thousands of tons,no children by the thousand no gold by the 1000s of tons.

3 cheers the war on drugs has been won in afghanistan.

You're first mistake is thinking Ronald Reagan has any real power.  You're second is thinking the US strategy at the time "worked".  Reagan tripled the national debt (Obama, crappy as he is has only raised it 33%) to fight a war we had already won as the USSR was rotting from the inside pre-Carter.  The 80's was about using the RED Menace threat to get politicainas elected who would allow the looting of the middle and lower classes.  The 2Ks used the Islam threat to so the same.

clinton years were good because he opened trade with china. end of story... Oil is a comodity which is traded on the strength or weakness of the dollar. What do you think china will be paying per barrel from iran based on the strength of yuan backed by bric treaties? It is not always supply side paridigm. Gold and silver have proven that... and you can thank clinton for yuan's current strength as well. Its about manipulation and corruption. Nothing more.

FDR and Worker Capitalism --- "Trickle Down Economics" vs. the "Forgotten Man"   http://www.capital-flow-analysis.com/investment-essays/fdr2.html

Note: Reagan was 70 years old when he first took office as POTUS, and barely made it too finnish his 2nd term at 78 years old, without impeachment or dementia starting in, or around his 75th birthday.

Why is this of concern? Hillary Clinton will be the next President, and, she too, will be 70 years old if elected. Warning: she can't handle 'SHIT' for whatever it matters? And Sweet William 'Global Initiative' a crossed-dress'd NGO of the campaign 'Roberts' type with a built in loophole for a cunnalinquist... ooooh my, my?

There is no moar divide between Democrat and Republican today, than a chocolate and vanilla twist ice creme cone. Period! They both pay complete homage to big business, and Wall Street. What separates them are clever wedge issues that never will go away... seeing that the SCOTUS has been compromised since the start of the 20th c., where justices can move in and out of presidential cabinets or congress. The good-ole-boy system, straight to K-Street!

USSR tried to invade Afganisthan back in 1979 to 1989.  Things went badly for them.

Just as thing went badly for the U-S in the past 10 years.

EDIT:  Oh and by the way.   The U-S funded the forces opposing the USSR back in the time.  They are the same people that fighted against the U-S when they invaded...

kchrisc's picture

Actually the Soviets did not invade Afghanistan willingly, but were duped into it. I am not apologizing for them, but...

Brzezinski along with his handpicked Trilateral sycophant president Jimmy Carter and the CIA engineered the invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviets by putting into power those that they knew the Soviets would not be able to tolerate. They also made sure that the Soviets knew that it was the DC US doing these things and that the only way to stop the DC US was to invade.

The Mujahedeen organization and training was started 6-months BEFORE the Soviets invaded.

This comes directly from Brzezinski's mouth January 1998.

http://www.counterpunch.org/1998/01/15/how-jimmy-carter-and-i-started-th...

And more from that interview:

Brzezinski: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter: We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic [integrisme], having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

Brzezinski: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

Agree

Russia and Iran have collaborated on past history regarding CIA/FBI COIN & CT gathering, parleyed with proxy NGO's stirring the anti-gov't pot!

Russia and Iran, as I've mentioned above, have read all the history's and strategy's of how the USSA has gotten to where they are today, and, are applying a reverse-psychology program to thwart every movement on the set-match global chessboard at present.

Every great nation with world dominance has ended up losing all because of 'two-front-wars'--  america says it can fight two wars simultaneously, and is prepared, but... we are on every continent, and spread so thin, like peanut butter, that there's nothing left in the jar at home.

Who we gonna call to help us? A bankrupt'd Europe or NATO (USSA bought and paid 4$), or Japan that's imploding and could turn-on anyone? Sure the ME would love to help us, but we luv Israel moar and have arm'd them to the teeth to protect our Petro$$$ from flying out the Gold/Ruble/Yuan Axis???

So maybe Palestine should just say yes, but... a picture tells a thousand words, and it does matter?  http://www.ifamericansknew.org/about_us/4maps.html

Then in early 2009, Russia offered to provide assistance to the US in Afghanistan, with conditions of course.

From:  http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?sid=aW0CaMQmfn2E&pid=newsarchive

"Saunders said the main message Russian leaders are trying to deliver is that they insist on playing a brokering role between the U.S. and the Central Asian nations.

“The message is that they really want us to take into account their interests in that part of the world, and we’re going to need to deal with them,” he said. “We can’t just go directly to all these governments and get what we want if they’re not involved.”

Jawad agreed, saying Russia was concerned about Western influence in Central Asia. “Russia is trying to push some of our northern neighbors not to be too cooperative with the U.S. and NATO,” he said.

Larrabee said Medvedev’s statement about cooperation on Afghanistan was an effort to “keep their options open with the United States and see whether some kind of arrangement can be worked out.”

He said Russian leaders may be prepared to offer help, such as the use of their airspace to transport supplies, in return for U.S. concessions on issues of importance to them. Such issues include Russian resistance to U.S. plans for a missile defense system based in Eastern Europe and support of NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia, he said. "

The point to remember in the Ukraine crisis is that the word “invasion” should apply, not to Russia, but to the John McCain Co., namely the IMF, Neocon, European/Fed central banker, NATO, CIA and Western Ukrainian mobsters.

This never-ending force of the Debt Slavery Empire invaded an area of Russian influence in order to further isolate Russia, and now it's trying to blame Russia, i.e., the cartoon. And repeating the words “Russian takeover, Russian annexation of Crimea, Russian threats of war, and Russian invasion” is warmonger talk,

It’s things like this that create war; history has proven that low information people can be brought on board for a war when an enemy is created and then portrayed as a threat. It does not occur to them that modern Russia under Putin has little resemblance to Stalin's Soviet Russia under the Bolsheviks.

This dangerous drawing is hardly a kneeslapper. I’m surprised it made the cut at Burning Platform.

As to this headline, “invading” is a warmonger term.

You're mistaken in thinking they write the script. They don't. The banksters do. Goldman Sachs & JP Morgan is your President & has been for 100 years.

Unlike the Russians they got the money printing party started in Iraq not once but two times so I would say we "spent" a little more.

We aren't even broke anymore, we are drowning in fake banker war debt upon debt, stacked on debt that us "citizens" owe?

What a joke.

i gave you an up arrow - but we weren't trying to go broke.  and MIC didn't go broke at all. the taxpayers did - and the guys building death machines won.  they got to blow up lots of toys in the middle of nowhere, and we got to spend lots of money buying more of them, for replacement and MORE, because they work so well.  and we probably also got to make some money on poppy seeds and their by products, and where those were sent.

The Greeks under Alexander couldn't take Afghanistan though in a world so sparely populated colonies were possible.

The (pre-Islamic) Persians never really had a hold beyond the Western, flatter portions.

It took the forces of Islam almost 200 years to conquer Kabul and longer to penetrate deeper into the Hindu Kush.

The Mongols couldn't do it though they certainly came close for awhile and killed a lot of people.

The Mughals of India wanted it for their trade routes.  Holding Afghanistan was their downfall.

The British got slaughtered.

The Russians too.

And everyone laughed after the initial war fervor of 9/11 and support for the US waned.

No need for Putin to invade or occupy any country because, as they have learned, it is too costly. However, to undermine the US Petrodollar as a global trading currency which allows it to be a reserve fiat currency---now that's a much better strategy to follow with China, Iran and others where oil and gas are important.

Wars are started by nations trying to acquire resources... Russia already has them, they won't be starting the war. Europe might, but I doubt it; the last set of wars were industrialised mincing machines and have left a lasting scar on the European psyche.

America would go to war without thought though, as far as Americans are concerned all wars happen in other people's countries and just look at all the toys we could use there.

Simplistic.

While your statement is partially true nations actually go to war (start or defend; sometimes both sides start) to A. Survive, B. Assure security for itself (often this means edging up to or well within a mountain range; China and Israel are both excellent examples) C. Maintain internal cohesion, and D. Expand the influence of the state (in that order).

Sometimes the expansion of that influence involves acquiring new territory and thus the economic infrastructure there whether it be an industrial base, sea access, nat resources, etc.

Regarding internal cohesion: there's nothing better than a good ol' war to keep the populous rooting for team 'whoever we are', especially when the economy is bad and possible rebellion against the aristocracy/overlords (by whatever name) is imminent.

Cases in point US after the 9/11 false flag, Pearl Harbor (known in advance), the Battleship Maine, Lusitania (hey it worked before, are we fucking warmongers or what?), etc. etc.  Other good examples would be the French under Napoleon (early example of nationalism and the drafting of common people to bolster/support professional forces), Japan & Russia at various times, and even emerging South American nations in the 17-1800s.

Not saying that you're wrong, but there are many reasons states go to war and often more than one reason at once.

Yes, it’s like all the false warmonger talk that depicts Russia as eyeing Poland. It is American Empire war propaganda, of course, to give NATO an excuse for further armaments in areas such as Poland .  Russia no more wants Poland than Poland would want annexation of Ukraine, an economic headache with Ukraine's politics facing a challenge from “the oligarchs’ suffocating grip on its economy “ and the IMF.

According to Paul Craig Roberts it is The Big Whorehouse On The Potomac,Washington, that is surrounding Russia with military bases: an anti-ballistic missile base in Poland, an anti-ballistic missile radar site in the Czech Republic, American-made ‘color revolutions,’ which have installed US puppet governments in Serbia, Ukraine, and Georgia, with failures in former constituent parts of Soviet central Asia.”

Says Roberts, “NATO, once a European/American alliance against Soviet invasion of Western Europe is now a mercenary US force fighting for America in Afghanistan and attempting to encircle Russia from the Baltics to Central Asia…

…it is Obama, not Putin, who has wars of aggression against three independent countries—Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, with a fourth war threatened with Iran.”

As for the mainlined, propagandized, programmed sheeple: “The US has no media.  But it does have a Ministry of Propaganda -- Fox News, CNN, the New York Times, the CIA and Mossad bloggers… and every time ‘your’ media opens its mouth lies jump out that serve the US government’s hegemonic propaganda.”

It's as close to a State media as you can get.

The only reason they all failed to take Afganistan is they were trying to leave some of those sub-human things alive (maybe to tend the poppy fields for the government mobsters).

Glazing the terrain from afar would have eliminated the murdering stone-age thugs and rendered the land useless for even the Chinese and Iranians and Pakistanis to use, even though they have no compunctions about murdering their own people by the tens of millions.

Left-bashing aside, Reagan won 525 electoral votes (out of 538), the highest total ever received by a presidential candidate; Reagan carried 49 of the 50 states.

The Reagan bashing is because the Left, with its Mondales, Clintons, Gores and Obamas, cannot stand a leader who runs on morality and who is loyal to his supporters, be they Republicans or middle-class Democrats or Independents.

The Reagan victories in the Electoral College will not be possible ever again following the massive waves of Third World immigration and their dominance of the electoral votes in states such as California (56) and New York (29).

California is a perfect example of the immigration tsunami where Ronald Reagan, the favorite son, carried the state by a million votes -- complete ancient history compared with today’s Democrat supermajority in the state legislature.

With the amnesty-supporting Establishment Republicans, the California story can be every state’s story. And the Republican Party can be permanently installed as the minority party of a one-party system.

"As U.S. war ends, Russia returns to Afghanistan with series of investment projects"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/as-us-war-ends-russia-r...

"In Afghanistan, Russian officials point to their development activities as a counterexample to U.S. aid projects, which many Afghans criticize as wasteful and misguided.

“The mistake of the last 12 years is that people were eager to give money, but without the proper strategy,” said Russian Ambassador Andrey Avetisyan, who was also based in Kabul as a young diplomat in the 1980s.

Many Afghans, including President Hamid Karzai, praise the Soviet model even though they fought a bloody 10-year war against the country’s army, which invaded in 1979 to support an unpopular communist government.

“The Soviet money went to the right place. They were efficient in spending their money and doing it through the Afghan government,” Karzai said in an interview with The Washington Post this month.

I would thought the answer would be to air drop and encourage the production of really cheap vodka and whiskey.

"The average Russian, including women and youths, drank 77 liters (20.3 gallons) of beer, 9 liters of spirit and 7 liters of wine in 2011, Euromonitor data shows. One in five Russian men die from harmful use of alcohol, the Geneva-based WHO says.

“We are used to smoking, drinking, eating a poor diet and doing little sport and then falling ill, and expect to be operated on or take pills to get better,” Nikolai Gerasimenko, deputy head of the lower house of parliament’s health committee, said in an interview. “That’s got to stop.”

On the other hand, Varia Makagonova writes on about.com Russian Travel:

You've probably heard a lot of "facts", myths and stereotypes about Russia. Find out which Russian "stereotypes" are actually true (here are 6 of the 10)!

1. Russians love vodka

Almost all Russians are capable of drinking vodka like water, and most of them will always have a bottle in their house whether they drink it regularly or not. If you are ever at an event of any sort organized by Russian people, there will be vodka there, and it will be offered to you! It’s not true, however, that Russians get extremely offended when you refuse a shot – it’s more that they’re surprised, because to them it’s not at all a big deal. And of course, remember that just because Russians like vodka, it does not mean that they are alcoholics – they can just drink more than most other people!

2. Russian women are extremely beautiful

Walk down any street in any Russian city and you will see that this is absolutely true. Young Russian women are gorgeous, and they are very particular about their appearance – most Russian women will not go outside without their hair and make-up perfectly done and their outfit, shoes and accessories perfectly matching. Even in the winter, you will see many Russian women on the streets in the following outfit: short skirt, tights, heels, and a fur coat.

6. Russians are blunt and serious

Russians always have a serious face on when they’re in public. It is considered impolite to express strong (especially loud) emotions around strangers. (Of course, this all changes in private, but that’s a different story.) Russian people are also very blunt and will not beat around the bush; they don’t tolerate small talk or niceties and much prefer to get to the point of a conversation. Except for young (Americanized) people, you will never hear Russian people exchanging “how are you?” as they walk past each other on the street – this question is reserved for private conversations and demands an honest answer.

8. Gender roles are alive and well in Russia

Men are men and women are women in Russia... in every aspect of daily life. Men are expected to be very traditionally chivalrous, opening doors, pulling out chairs, and paying for the ladies. Women are expected to cook, clean and always look gorgeous – and not act offended when they encounter these kinds of attitudes. I’m not saying it’s easy, but that’s the way it is!

9. Russian clubs are very exclusive

It’s true, many Russian clubs, especially in Moscow, are designed for the very rich, with strict face-control and exorbitant “cover” fees – and that’s before you have to pay for drinks! While it is possible to find some affordable clubs in Russia, be prepared to face high cover charges and even be turned away if you are not dressed up to the nines (see above). If you're not up for that, try going to a bar instead, which can often be just as lively but a lot less expensive!

10. Russians are flashy

When Russian people dress up, they go all-out. Sky-high heels, glittery miniskirts and fur coats on impeccably made-up girls, the latest in crisp, bright or loud men’s fashion on guys. When they’re not dressing to go out, Russian men tend to tone it down and wear quiet clothing, but Russian women keep it dialed up, always seeming as though they’ve stepped out of a fashion magazine (see below).

Kinda sounds like the old America, doesn’t it?
