Russia Accuses US Mercenaries Of Inciting Civil War In Ukraine

Tyler Durden's picture

In response to claims by the Ukraine government (and the west) that Russia provoking trouble in Eastern Europe - with The White House's Jary Carney even suggesting that pro-Russia demonstrators were paid - Russia's foreign ministry has responded. Posting via their Facebook page, Russia urged Ukraine to halt any interior military preparations which could instigate a civil war. But the kicker, for which we anxiously await a rebuttal, is Russia's comment that they "are particularly concerned that the operation involves some 150 American mercenaries."

The US administration perspective... (via WaPo)

In Washington, the Obama administration expressed deep skepticism that the scattered uprisings and building takeovers in cities such as Donetsk and Kharkiv have been spontaneous. "There is strong evidence suggesting some of these demonstrators were paid," said Jay Carney, the White House spokesman.

"If Russia moves into eastern Ukraine, either overtly or covertly, this would be a very serious escalation," Carney said.

The Ukrainian perspective...

The Ukrainian government dispatched its highest-level police and security officials to the region Monday in an effort to put down the separatist agitation.

Kiev is confronting an attempt to "destabilize the situation," Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at an emergency cabinet meeting Monday. "The plan is for foreign troops to cross the border and seize the country's territory, which we will not allow."

And the Russian perspective, as ITAR-TASS reports,

The Russian Foreign Ministry urged Ukraine to halt any interior military preparations, which could instigate a civil war in the country, the ministry was quoted as saying on its Facebook.com account.

“According to our information, units of the Interior troops and Ukraine’s national guards as well as militants from the illegal armed formation ‘The Right Sector’ are being amassed in the southeastern parts of Ukraine and in the city of Donetsk,” the ministry said.

We are particularly concerned that the operation involves some 150 American mercenaries from a private company Greystone Ltd., dressed in the uniform of the [Ukrainian] special task police unit Sokol,” the ministry said.

It seems the tit-for-tat sanctions have escalated to tit-for-tat explanations of who is escalating. However, whet is clear is the Russian warning which seems to implicitly be 'don't start this or we will finish it'. All along Putin has claimed this is to protect his countrymen in a foreign nation...

Trust me, Russians are naturally much better prepared.

for America reading; Dmitry Orlov compares the situations and mindsets..of who better prepared for collapse...

Russia went thru, has the experience...are durable....   even today example: over 90% of potatoe consumed in Russia is from family plots...

Others could find collapse cannot be survived by trip to mall or walmart

According to Ukrainian Security Service, mercenaries will be engaged in political search and protection of state security over inability of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to curb on leaders and activists of pro-Russian movement independently.

This initiative was put forward by oligarchs Ihor Kolomoyskyi, a co-owner of Ukraine’s PrivatBank, and Serhiy Taruta, head of the industrial union of Donbass, a coal basin in eastern Ukraine, as these business tycoons were appointed as governors in central Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk region and eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region, respectively. A source in Ukrainian Security Service which participated in recent special meeting chaired by parliament-appointed interim President Oleksandr Turchynov reported about this fact.

No matter what the latest appellation, the highly paid cadres of sociopathic deviants and trained killers operating from occulted shadow realms for the past decades and slithering from one bloody abbatoir of homicidal madness to the next is a hydra headed beast of absolute evil emanating from the infernal precincts of Washington, Langley, and Wall Street. It takes a lot to make the KGB look like a habitation of moral rectitude, but this fascist miasma of corporatist psychopathology masquerading as governance has succeeded in doing so. The requisite for such a demoralizing manifestation of national insanity is the moral cowardice and mental stupefaction of a clan of barbarous paganism operating not far beneath the thin veneer of "christian civilization". Vlad and his cohort of unctious KGB orthodox "priests" in sanctimonious icon worship cannot even remotely rival the hideous hypocrisy of these bloodthirsty ghouls and revenants of the EU and US in the successive eviscerations of the Balkans, the Middle East, North Africa and now Ukraine.

+1.  "The US wants a civil war in Ukraine."  Not even so we can use eastern Ukraine for NATO bases.  Just for the sake of uncorking more bloody chaotic upheaval on Russia's borders.  See Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, etc. etc. etc.  The entire Kissinger/Brzezinski strategy involves inciting chaos for the mere sake of it, on top of vital resource deposits, along the routes of resource trans-shipment, and around the perimeter of Russia and China.  Look at a good atlas with political boundaries and resource maps and it becomes obvious.  In Africa the target is the Chinese, and their massive investments and cooperative ventures with African nations, particularly Sudan, Libya and the southeast of Africa.  There's a reason the "Al-Quaeda" types always seem to crop up where China has just built trade infrastructure.

The point is not to seize the resources or claim territory for Empire.  The point is to make it too dangerous for anyone else to access the resources, and thereby keep them "on ice" to be retrieved later, courtesy of the lavishly funded and nearly ubiquitious US war machine.

I agree entirely! The entire Libyan fiasco was to remove the Chinese hand on the Libyan Oil tap which, they had paid for!!! to a US hand.

Gaddafi was a unique fit as a Libyan leader who, built great infrastructure there, shared oil profits with his people, kept order! and, increased literacy to 97% from 3% when he took power. (We can't have those African/Arabs being able to read now can we!?)

Gaddafi was trying to circumvent the petrodollar via the modern gold dinar.  The americans didn't like that.  Did you notice one of the first things the rebels did after they took control was to establish a new central bank of libya.  Those peasant rebels sure are financially literate. LOL

The US government believes that promoting just the right amount of chaos throughout the world is in its own interests (flight to safety/USD etc.).  At some point, and fairly soon I think, the USG is going to be getting a good deal more chaos than it has planned for.

The Book "Charlie Wilsons WAR" is required reading by USA State Department for anybody being sent to Afghanistan, this guy gets down-voted, which of course means that essentially he's telling the truth on the first part,

>>>

What the fuck that this has to do with UKRAINE is anybody's guess, Charlies Wilson ( a Texas Congressman ) got STINGER MISSILES to the TALEBAN (Mujaheen), ...

but so far nobody is giving stingers to the neo-nazi's in Kiev on USA budget.

>>>

My favorite part of the book is that the real reason Russia collapsed was because of the Afghan "Black Widow", but you have to read the book. The book is important not for AFGHAN war and RAYGUN, but because this war brought RUSSIA to its knees, the reason the book is studied, is so that everybody clear4ly understands how Russia was destroyed.

Nyet...KGB was aware Soviet was headed down for serious changings even before Afghan escalated...

that is one of many reasons Soviets did not want more involvement, but was bad situation in Afghan..much trouble

Soviet was trying to stabilize regions near to its borders. Built infrastructure and schools...girls could attend school for first time.

Many of these girls actually killed by their own fathers for wanting education.

Former Afghan Commanders tell the Russians were better soldiers, controlled far more of country in real and not many faces like the americans who they say hide in compounds and avoid...

Best books of this subject for US reader are "Afgantsy" Rodric Braithwaite and "Ghost Wars" Steve Coll

Charlie Wilsons war...not so much good source

Think...If Russian went against US/coalition and had supplied advance arms what damage would have been.....

and fact is Russian Federation has instead helped..cos want what stability can be gained in these regions..

which assisitance get payed back with no respect as matter of course....usual insult style which endears to so much world..

Btw "Russia was destroyed" ???  Nyet...Soviet was collapsed, defunct.....not Russia

Not rly, USSR went down due to:

1. communism is a curse and it run it course;

2. Chernobyl;

3. USSA in conjunction with KSA collapsed the price of oil and bankrupted the USSR;

4. USSA got to the KGB/party leaders and got them to sell out (the 1989 revolutions were if not staged, at least were allowed to happen);

5. after 2-3 generations people get soft and no amount of violence and or bullshit is able to restrain them;

As a result Letonia, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, ...stans, belarus, ukraine, georgia, armenia, czechoslovakia, hungary, poland, romania, bulgaria, albania seized the moment and broke away from the mfkers (notice how many countries the ussr was fucking up? almost as many as USSA did/does);

In conclusion, fuck USSA and fuck the URSS/Russian federation (the former on account of having the largest country in the world and still not enough for them).

This shows the incredibly low combat capability of the U.S. Army.

State Department

That's right, ... when I was a kid in Ireland, in
Tralee (ring of kerry) they came to our town, and asked if we wanted to go 'fight' in Vietnam, it was good money.

Most of us went, we fought everyday anyhow so to get paid for fighting didn't mean much to us, there were no jobs
in Ireland at the time.

In the 1950's the USA wasn't legally involved in the Vietnam war, but they had merc's by the 1,000's from all over the world fighting for the USA on the USA nickel.

We got a lot of training, navy sog, rangers, cia, .. but the ones that everybody feared the most were 'state department', they were experts with the knife and
silent killing, they were the ones everybody knew not to mess with. The State Department guys were teaching 100's of way's to slit a man's throat, slash&thrust,
such that he would be dead before he even saw the knife.

Then (1950's) as now, the USA State Department hires the worlds #1 experts in killing, remember Politics is WAR by other means, ... thus all politics is "COVERT WAR"

Lastly, just remember they put the EVIL BITCH from hell in charge of STATE-DEPARTMENT, and now KERRY.

Me too. I wonder like crazy-was there just more trust because there was less media to expose the lies making it easier to mislead? Maybe, but I doubt it.

When you look back in time it's physically apparent people had a greater respect for morality and themselves. Seeing people out in public, at sporting events- they were dressed to kill. They had respect for themselves and others. The bankers made sure that enough inflation took hold over the years to force mom into the workplace to survive. And they sold it that if you DIDNT work as a woman, you were less. Hell, I even remember during the Murphy Brown years my sister-in-law talked about wanting to have a baby and she wasn't even dating anybody. I mean, WTF? Our programming content has covertly shaped the culture.

Once the parental figures were preoccupied with simply surviving, the schools and dept. of education could go to work. And the erosion begets more erosion only interrupted by mindless relief in the form of reality TV programming.

So, even though much was BS it was certainly MORE real than what we have today. And the further back you go to the founding, the purer it gets. But "progress" and central banking had other ideas and they have run out of options.

Now it's time to hit reset on the time machine- and when you do, dial up 1776!

Yes, I think you misread my post. I am sickened by the millions of innocents killed by the US. However, they have been killed because a laregly foreign (zionist and globalist bankster element) has used us to do their murderous deeds  -but on the other hand, my anger is directed at millions of Americans too  -lazy, selfish sheeple who look the other way in complete ignorance  -when in the day of the internet they have no excuse for their ignorance. Those fake "Christians" who lust for war ignore the esence of their faith   -The Golden Rule and Sermon on the Mount. I have nothing but contempt for them  -including many of my family and friends -I believed in America when I was a Child -I believed we were a good and Godly nation that stood for freedom , righteousness and justice. To a certain extent, 50 years ago, we stood for those values -at least far more than we do now. I was naive. I was duped  -but things have gotten far worse, the opportunity to seek, find and learn the Truth is today far greater. But we have failed completely  -at least so far -

MH-370 Where is RUSSIA? Where is PUTIN? What did he get out of this deal?

Malay press since day one here has been saying that the CIA/MOSSAD has the plane in Diego Garcia.

It's only the USA MSM that is fed lies and bullshit, and sends people off to the Indian Ocean.

The MIL probably 'seeded' black-boxes to emit 37khz signals all over the ocean to send people on wild goose chases.

>>>

Just follow the money ... that's the key now ... who gets what ..

CHina gets the tabeban/cia drone, note that the TALEBAN(CIA) sold their own drone, this made it the perfect crime and the reason CHINA must be silent about KILLING THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

ISRAEL get's the KL-02, the greatest invention since the transistor [ Read the MIT/DARPA report to see why ISRAEL had to have this ... http://www.technologyreview.com/news/514101/wanted-for-the-internet-of-t... ]

Malayasia get's some of the 'UKRANE' GOLD, ... the higher up politicians will do anything for gold, but now their will be a COUP. Note also that the plane pilot was the son in law of the opposition political party, so they also made sure in implicate the opposition in their crime.

USA win's most of all, there will be a COUP, the USA will do a UKRAINE, and take over the MALAY government, and then when they fight IRAN, they will beach from this location, and they will build a canal through MALAY as they have wanted.

Goldman Sack's wins, you lose.

Goldman Sachs said this was all over 2 weeks ago.   Are you telling me some little kid with no experience working in a bank office cubicle can't predict world events or the markets?  Are you telling me gold is really a slam dunk buy, coming off a double bottom, in an uptrend, 700 dollars below sustainable mining costs, as India relaxes import restrictions, as China buys it all up, as the banks run out of it in the west?  Can't be.  A little kid at Goldman Sachs said 5000 years of history and fact was transient, but his old daytrade was the real thing.  Dam, you know what else is fd up?  Copper up since the little kids at Goldman said it would drop too.

Well, that has put my mind at rest, nothing to worry about here, I am slightly concerned about what their definition of 'efficiently and effectively' means and that there is no mention of holding themselves to high ethical and moral standards, or in fact any standards at all, I suspect if it was efficient and effective to use chemical or biological weapons it would be a green light, just so long as it was effective and efficient.

These guys were caught on video many weeks back in Karkov. Bystandes noted their full American combat gear and began screaming "Blackwater" at them. Then the US Troops ran away.

If you are Russian and American Troops show up claiming to be international contractors, what is the Russian going to say "Oh, okay, in that case, carry on." NO, they are going to see armed Americans in their city, and then god help these Blackwater clowns. Remember, Blackwater has no air support, none. They are one on one on the ground. This ain't Iraq. I think Putin is going to go for it, give the unrest and perhaps a fear of disappointing people there.  Not a good idea, since Ukraine is an expensive mess to fix.

I do think he'll wait after the IMF thing shakes out.  If he won't get the voice in IMF to influence Ukraine,  he'll do it by force.

At the same time,  Chechnya was not fun and he doesn't feel very enthusiastic about another conflict, but if Ukraine becomes a failed state he will have to invade in 5 years anyway.

What a mess, it has been brewing for decades and just reached the surface of the restless sea.

We have it all wrong people.  Putin has actually been losing. Maybe this editorial is an effort to get the American public to support our policy there since we're "winning":

.

How Putin is losing in Crimea: A reality check

"A funny thing happened on March 21: Russia lost a war and virtually no one noticed.

On that day, at the same time Russian President Vladimir Putin was signing a treaty finalizing the annexation of Crimea, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk was putting his own signature down: on a partnership pact between Ukraine and the European Union (EU).

It was precisely this agreement — and the refusal of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to sign it — that led to the bloody demonstrations in Kiev that forced Yanukovych from power and spurred Russia’s seizure of Crimea.

It’s the kind of trade that looks bad for Russia on the surface — and will only look worse in the future. Russia’s political influence in Ukraine and its dreams of creating an economic union to compete with the EU lies in tatters. Rather than push the U.S. and EU away from his western border, Putin’s actions have practically invited them in by strengthening the bonds between Kiev and the West. It is yet another reminder that Putin’s decision to seize Crimea, rather than serve as a triumphant moment, is far more likely to end up a disaster..."

More BS from the second string liars.  Putin had to reclaim Crimea lest Sevastopol fell into American hands. Without Sevastopol, Russia loses it only warm water port in Europe, and makes it far harder to resupply Syria. Moreover, there are tens of billions in Crimean offshore oil and gas reserves now denied to Ukraine.   The State Department is crying the horseshit blues because the big fish got away.

Erik Prince is anything but stupid. He has set up outside of the US to avoid paying as much tax as possible. He is in a very nice tax-free haven with an offshore company with no funds to repatriate. Totally legal and routine.

As for his activities in Ukraine: Here's how it will probably go. They will hire "Local Nationals" from Ukraine or at the very basic (Serbs, Kosovo, etc.). They will pay them about 20-30% of what a corn fed PS guy goes for (rates have come down since the wind up in Iraq and Afghan...so figure $3-5K a day for a Local National....bloody fortune in Ukraine!)

They will bring in some Russian speaking Western managers to do the brain work. These guys will be tucked away nice and safe...it will be a very good job for them. Only a handful of these guys. Most likely on business visas and they will rotate in and out every 20-30 days. They will drive in - no airports.

Nice marketing talk on what essentially are psychopathic killers. These mercanaries can perform operations that the government forces cannot do. The government can then also take their hands off them if something goes wrong. Or they can be sacrificed for a greater goal. The US and EU people are not motivated to have a conflict with Russia over Ukraine but suppose a few mercanaries get killed and it is presented as 'US aid workers massacered by Russians' and the MSM repeats it again and again (shouting 'atrocity, atrocity') perhaps people will start to believe it. A major false flag against #Ukraine, blamed on #Russia and publicly hailed as an attack by Russia against Ukraine for #Obama to use as an excuse for #US #Military intervention, which undoubtedly would lead to World War III.

Hello
We are #Anonymous #Ukraine

We have hacked e-mail correspondence of US Army Attache Assistant in #Kiev Jason Gresh and a high ranking official from Ukrainian General Staff Igor Protsyk.

It appears that they are planning to conduct a series of attacks on #Ukrainian #military bases in order to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.

Particularly, Jason Gresh writes to Igor Protsyk that it's time to implement a plan that implies "causing problems to the transport hubs in the south-east of Ukraine in order to frame-up the neighbor. It will create favorable conditions for Pentagon to act", says Jason Gresh.

Maybe there are 150 Greystone people there. Maybe there arent.  Russian channel One was earlier reporting how Chechens were running training camps in the Western Ukraine.  This was sold as though the US were responsible.

This is plainly stupid.  Chechens hate Russia because of the US? Russia made her own problems iwth Chechens and vice versa.

US is directing Chechen terrorist training camps in Ukraine?  This is ridiculous.  These Islamist Chechens hate the US almost as much as they hate Russia, and are frequently killed with Taliban in Afghanistan.

Excuse me, but 150 people in a nation of 60 million doesn't mean anything!  They could be there for personal protection of politicians - not suprising given the number of defections.  They could be there to teach the Ukrainian Army. They could be there to protect the Airport. That is what they do after all. And given how The Russian Army first seized the Crimean Airport, it would not be at all suprising for Ukraine to hire muscle.  This means nothing.

In short, Russian news is consistently presenting an "East vs West" bipolar world that has not existed since 1991.  Almost every story about Ukraine ASSUMES that no one in the world would act without US permission.  They even say the the US has conspired to make Russia weak (probably true, this is just what governments do).  They say that the West has always wanted to invade Russia, split it in pieces, and extract the natural resources.

Excuse me? Everyone wants central Asia????  NO ONE WANTS CENTRAL ASIA! NOT EVEN THOSE WHO LIVE THERE!!!

There are over 100K troops in Afghanistan, just a short step away from Russia and have been for a long time.  If anyone wanted to use them to attack Russia they would have done so when Russia was weakest soon after Russia's 1998 default.

That whole bipolar world fantasy is  plainly stupid.  That wold exists only in the minds of pensioners who never lefft the Cold War. The Russian-US bipolar world is long gone.

Reality is a multi-polar world.  Imagining it to be bipolar will result in disaster.

Reality is number of middle eastern nations to include Saudi Arabia are CLEARLY leaving US and or Russian orbit respectively and pursuing their own interests.

The EU CLEARLY has ambitions to be a world player, and CLEARLY wants to be an alternative to the US orbit, whether or not it wants to be strictly speaking unfriendly to the US.

Asia is also also another pole in the multipolar world, arguably the strongest.  Some, like South Korea and Japan are still in US orbit.  Most are in China's orbit or uncommitted.

WHO DOES INSTABILITY IN UKRAINE SERVE?

IT SERVES ALTERNATE PROVIDERS OF ENERGY.  IT SERVES EUROPE IN THAT THEY CAN THEN HAVE MULTIPLE SUPPLIERS.

WHO DOES INSTABILITY IN UKRAINE NOT SERVE?

IT MAKES THE US LOOK WEAK.  IT MAKES RUSSIA LOOK LIKE INVADERS.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?  MY MONEY SAYS THOSE RESPONSIBLE ARE THOSE WITH SOMETHING TO GAIN.

Need to clean up our game first after countless wars costing trillions, a debt ridden economy, income disparity, widespread corruption etc. We are on path to destabilizing world order for what reason ? While Russia not better, they are not marauding the world as we are and do not present any threat to our survival.

Wouldn't it be funny if Russia captured some of these mercs and water boarded them into admiting all sorts of interesting details and then released the video everywhere?

Absence of evidence of US involvement in Ukraine is not evidence of absence.  But then, there's not a total absence of evidence, either.  I wonder how much of the $5 billion we spent on Ukraine went directly to Greystone or Xe.
