President Obama Explains His Equal Pay Plan - Live Feed

Tyler Durden's picture

While we are sure the men of the world are applauding quietly from the background, President Obama's plan for equal pay is likely to appeal to the females in his audience - especially those who might vote... it is perhaps ironic that the President brings this up once again - and for good reason is the gender pay inequality gap is indeed worsening - when it is the women of America that have regained all their jobs (and then some) since the recession while men have not...

Exactly. When Lincoln said that no man has a right to the fruits of another man's labor ... well ... he obviously did not intend for that to apply to women.

Who are Democrats and Republicans?

The newly formed Republican party wanted to abolish slavery; whereas, the already existing Democratic Party wanted to promote slavery. Therefore, we see that the rhetoric of both parties is consistent with their history. The Republicans have always claimed that no man has a right to the fruits of another man's labor; whereas, the Democrats have always promised the fruits of other men's labor to whoever would vote for them. A majority of those who want something for nothing will thus prefer the Democratic Party.

The mainstream media, academia, and the government actively promote the Democratic Party, and actively oppose the Republican Party. A majority of those who do not think for themselves will thus prefer the Democratic Party.

Of course, those who think for themselves and who take the time to investigate, know that, regardless of which party is in power, the overall trend of government is higher taxes, more spending, more borrowing, more corruption, more wealth redistribution, more violation of the Constitution, more propaganda, more political factions, more fear, more hate, and more regulation of your life and your business.

It is almost as if both parties were merely front men for the same elite interests, and for some issues one is the good cop and the other is the bad cop; whereas, for other issues, it is the reverse. It is almost as if most politics, news media, and academic studies were never intended to find or solve real problems, but were actually intended to incite fear of each other, fear of nature, and fear of the unknown, so that we will empower them to control others, control nature, and control the unknown.

What politicians really need is not just fear, but conflict, and fear leads to hate, and hate leads to anger, and anger leads to action, which is why politicians prefer to motivate us directly by inciting hate instead of fear. Of course, it is very difficult for politicians to sell themselves as the solution to the very hate that they themselves are fomenting, and some politicians, such as Bill Clinton, are almost that skilled, but even such a master politician must choose the faction that controls the media, so that the media will give him the cover he needs. Democrats are thus able to promote the New Hate because they have sufficient cover from the media.

Let’s look at a recent example.

NBC, the Democrats, and Obama used Trayvon Martin’s death to propagate the New Hate.

The media and the Democrats incited hatred in the black community and in the politically correct community while suppressing dissent, which resulted in more votes for the Democratic Party.

A former Philadelphia police officer who was hailed as a hero and sat next to Michelle Obama at a presidential address will stand trial on charges he raped two prostitutes at gunpoint.

The November trial comes after 28-year-old Richard DeCoatsworth withdrew a plea to reduced charges Tuesday.

DeCoatsworth has experienced a long slide since he was shot in the face pursuing a suspect in 2007 and attended the president's State of the Union address in 2009.

A defense lawyer says DeCoatsworth became addicted to painkillers after the shooting.

DeCoatsworth faces decades in prison if convicted of the most serious charges. But he says he wants to clear his name, even though he might have left prison soon under the plea agreement.

A judge denied his request for bail, calling him a danger to the community.

you almost sound like a Republican shill, alhthough you do redeem yourself "It is almost as if both parties were merely front men for the same elite interests, and for some issues one is the good cop and the other is the bad cop; "

While I agree with you on the Democrats, I disagree with you on the Republicans viz "The Republicans have always claimed that no man has a right to the fruits of another man's labor"

The Republicans are the party of WAR, and if you study history (recent and past), WAR was promoted for the SPOILS of war, which is exactly the same as taking the fruits of another man's labor (through force). So the Democrats try and steal from you via taxation and big government.

The Republicans try and steal from you using the military industrial complex under the guise of 'patriotism'.

The most ironic thing is the Republicans rail against Democrats' 'big government', but the Republican's plan for downsizing government is INCREASING PRIVATE military spending. So they give lip service to 'privatisation', but what they mean is the profits will go to big corporations.

So in short

Democrats want socialism (equal pay for everyone)

Republicans want facism (privatize profits, socialise losses)

How about this? - Allow me to negotiate a private employment contract with whomever I want for whatever rate is mutually beneficial. Then eliminate or significantly reduce inflation due to a monopoly by a group of bankers to produce money at will thus debasing the value of currency. Finally, eliminate fractional reserve banking which allows money to be created out of thin air.

 i found your stupid drone.

march 29. saturday night. 10pm.

your quadcopter must have crashed. i found it squirming around in the middle of Fulton Street. felt like i was picking up a wounded animal with it buzzin' all around, camera lookin' at me with its one eye, not sure if it was dead or alive.

it was weird...

i didn't want the damn thing flying around the apartment, bumping into me or creeping out my girlfriend [too late!] and her stoney [and slightly paranoid] roommates, so i pulled the battery, cut the power and turned off the wireless.

if you want it back and/or you dont want me to see what's on the SD card, email me with the specifics or i'm gonna turn around and sell it on ebay to another one of you chumps.

ciao ciao!

The women in the White House don't even get equal pay.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/04/08/inside-politics-equal-pa...

But the issue of equal pay plagues President Obama’s White House. An analysis by the conservative American Enterprise Institute found that women staffers made about 88 cents on the dollar, compared with male staffers.

A question on that discrepancy caught White House press secretary Jay Carney off guard Monday.

"What I can tell you is that we have, as an institution here, have aggressively addressed this challenge, and obviously, though, at the 88 cents that you cite, that is not a hundred, but it is better than the national average,"

What a crock of shit this is.

That's like if I was a NFL Coach, and after a loss, I told the beat writers, "Well guys we didn't win, but we covered the spread!"

In my last career in the late 90's we began to take on a larger presence of women in the work force. It was then the whole operation went into turmoil. Each woman demanded her family friendly work schedule. Each took repeated family leaves. Now according to law that is how it works I guess. But of course you know who made up the slack, who never got a day off, who was always denied vacation times, who was repeatedly called on Sat. to get in a fill in for a woman? Yep, us men. One bitch told me, She was a woman and thus was entitled to her family time, I told her that I had kids too, and so did most other men there. She thought that was funny, men have families? That only counts if you are the right sex.

If I were a boss, my only goal would be to keep the number of women down to whatever level I could and stay out of court.

Have these jobs been taken over by cunts?

It's not just men who suffer working with women Jack. My field is 95% women and I have been just as pushed around and treated unfairly. I never took advantage of having kids to have preferential treatment. Other women noticed this and attacked and sabotaged me at any opportunity because they feared management would appreciate me more than them. I was a threat and they bad mouthed me at any chance they got. Just because you have a vagina doesn't mean you are in the club.

I always bemoaned I couldn't work with men. Mr said this would be a disaster because they'd like me so much they'd help me with my work and fail to do theirs. So I can't win and am stuck with the bitches.

You sound like Ms. Postal. Her field is mostly men, but her current position is mostly women and she hates it (working with women, not the job), for much the same reasons as you gave.

In Britain, the largest employer by far in many areas outside London is government. Like Wales, parts of it have 60% + of working population employed in one or other government unit. Scotland and North of England are the same. No wonder the BoE has to pint billions to pay for it all.

This may actually backfire on the Queen and lead to a reduction in female new hires.

Why hire a woman for less pay when I can hire a man for the same price, without maternity leave issues?

I think we can restore Constitutional legitimacy to the US government if we adopt:

The Separation of Commerce and State Amendment

The Armed Citizenry Amendment

I would even go so far as to say that these amendments would eventually fix What is Wrong With The People.

One thing is certainly true. The United States has stretched the meaning of the commerce clause beyond anything reasonably close to what is the true intent of that clause. It is only a matter of time before all this criminality comes to a halt. You just don't see it, but there are people working diligently behind the scenes to restore this country and arrest the treasonous, seditious criminals occupying government offices defacto.

You're right, I don't see it. Also, it sounds like a set up to blame capitalists, Americans, conservatives, libertarians, skeptics, independent thinkers, Tea Partiers, gun owners, Christians, and the free-market.

All the signs are there that the government is trying to provoke armed conflict to help justify more of a police state.

How about equal medical coverage?  Women consume 3x the medical costs as men.  Why are women so ill represented among ditch diggers, septic tank pumpers, welders, heavy construction, linemen, truck drivers, and mechanics?  They want tons of pay and a desk job doing worthless shit for the government.

Fuck Obama.

What about medical insurance? Women, young women, use more healthcare than men, but now rates must be identical.

What about auto insurance? Men are safer drivers but drive more miles and thus have more total accidents but pay more than women? Why not charge women more when each mile they drive has a higher chance of accident occurrence per mile driven?

Not this crap. I wondered what Obama meant by 'equal pay'.

I used to be a numbers guy back in my last career. Accounting. It was all women, and me running the show for the owner.

There are, btw, NO men any longer in the office. It's all women, men remain only in operations, in the field, in sales, and top management. Everyone else is a rights-demanding woman, HR (crucial zampolit position) being the essential job. Put a woman in that, and you are doomed.

I used to cut paychecks amongst my many duties, and sometimes sign, and there is NO, ZERO, NADA wage discrimination in the USA. When you have HR files in your office and can peruse resumes, degrees, backgrounds, and salaries to the penny, it's clear in 5 minutes that those most qualified and similiarly qualified earn the same +/- 1,000 a year. Or even identical salaries.

This wage inequality lie is nonsense. Men and Women earn the same pay for the same job, education and experience, to the penny. The notion that men hire men 'because men like other men around' is total nonsense - no man will make a business and pay decision based on that in 2014. If he or she produces, they are hired. The fact is that women want flex time, time to be sick, time to spend with family, BUT they want the same pay as the men who don't have that pressure, are single or can manage it and meet work responsibilities as well without taking so much time off work.

Payroll is now a spreadsheet, custom formatted usually and wired over a very old skool (late 70's) modem, on a POTS dedicated baud line (no hacking potential).

It is a matter of 60 seconds work to strip all names, addresses and SSN's from the data upload to the bank, replace it all with M or F, pay total pretax, age, education, tenure, and attach that to an email and send it to NOW or EEOC.

Since ALL HR and Payroll clerks, Accountants, Directors and such are WOMEN, it would be trivial for them to provide hard, data, proof of wage discrimination.

They can't, they don't, because it does not exist - and don't quote me that bogus median or mean figure on IRS tax returns and Census data. Get an education in basic logic, maths and figures first.

This is bullshit, it's simply not true, but women feel superior and aggrieved so amends must be made.

I am very pleased I left that career years ago and that I know spend my time doing very little in Eurasia.

This will end up like Obamacare - destroying what is left of the economy and if PBHO does not get it passed, Hillary will.

Upvote for the 'You will be Sexist if you don't vote for Hillary'.

Your comments are correct and I will expand on them.

There are numerous geographic and Industry Specific, wage and salary surveys that almost all companies use to develop their various salary range tables. Depending on the type of company - most corporations have most if not all the following salary range tables. Hourly, Union scale, technical, professional technical, professional non technical, sales, management and Executive Compensation tables by Industry.

The pay tables are formed by surveying almost all companies through 3 to 5 major intermediary survey companies, who collect "blind pay data" on all these jobs. Companies that participate can then receive this information to decide how much to spend on year over year increases, set pay ranges, determine the division of the salary increases pie by high performers vs low performers,  - under "pay for performance" programs. In ,most cases high performers get more $$ on an annual basis. These ranges are also used to determine new hire salary offers based on a new hire maximum vs minimal skills relative to the position. Skill is the determinate value in what the $$ offer will be, not gender.

It is impossible under this system to have gender pay equity discussion That is the reason that HR Executives (who are mostly women,) have not publicly discussed any of this. They know how the system works, but will never rock the boat of gender equity.

In addition - corporations budget for salary increases, promotional amounts, bonuses and insensitive pay in most cases in one "salary increase bucket" and in line with inflation in the range of 3 to 5% of the previous years payroll. How can you have gender pay equity, reward top performers more, pay equitably to attract new hires, pay for promotions and increase incentives to employees, on a small percentage budgetary increase year over year?

Every female CEO today, has it in her power to fix any gender equality that may exist within her company at the stroke of her pen. She only has to convince the Board of Directors that the 3 to 5% allocated for salaries is not enough. I do not believe that many female CEO's are kicking down the doors of their Executive Boards to fight for this issue.

Politicians, including our current Chief Executive, the MSM, (who are paid on Personal Contracts basis,) and  Tenured Academia, are clueless as to how the real world works. Employees work years in companies and do not have the slightest idea of how pay policy is set. In some cases this is privileged information and is withheld from them.

Women are blindly asking for something that American Business is not willing to provide, given the pay for performance plans in most companies vs the annual performance rankings that are not equal on a gender basis but more on an individual performance basis.

It is almost as if the "blind are leading the blind," when they talk of gender equity. Politicians have no clue because the government is not constrained on payroll issues. Pay for performance is non existent, except at the Executive Level that have active bonus programs.

Politicians are pushing pure demagoguery, class and gender warfare on the unsuspecting population that know nothing of how corporations pay them, vs those who are in government service.
