So It's Not The CIA's Fault This Time?

Tyler Durden's picture

As we noted previously, the US remains convinced that "there is strong evidence suggesting some of [the pro-Russian] demonstrators were paid," and Russia, in the same vein, responded that they "are particularly concerned that the operation involves some 150 American mercenaries from a private company Greystone Ltd., dressed in the uniform of the [Ukrainian] special task police unit Sokol." So, this morning's 'claims', substantiated, we presume, by YouTube clips and CIA promises, that John Kerry blasted to his Twitter followers is remarkable: "it is clear that Russia special forces and agents have been the catalysts behind the chaos of the last 24 hours in Ukraine." Clear... proof?

Kerry explains it all...

And Russia's response...

I'd say paid by both sides. The only advantage to worldwide networks is that we see the provocations in real time. I don't doubt that US and Russia are having their proxy/turf war in someone else's backyard. What really started this was NATO/EU being greedy-- if they had given a better deal to Ukraine then this wouldn't have happened. Once Russia gave Yanukovich a good finance deal that justified the other dominoes falling.

Yet another sign of the collapse of the west....and even Russia.  A third (turd) world country with a tin horn nationalist dictator with a few natural resources left and the balls to stand up to the west.  That's really the only thing the Russians have going for them....balls.

But to even respond to shit heads like Kerry and the State Department via Twitter is pathetic.  If I were the Russians I would have called Kerry on the fucking Red Phone and told them that when they figure out how to call back on this phone and communicate like adults I'll be right here on the other side.  **click**

Balls are the only thing Putin has going for him.  The typical Russian won't benefit one cent from all of this and a few will probably get killed in the process.  Yay Putin!

It is truly frightening to see the lack of grownupness in the western "leaders".  One wants to see them as puppets but it is hard to understand how anyone capable of making the western governments into their puppets would not write a slightly better script for the puppets to follow.  This is pathetic.

I know this is a radically unpopular stance on ZH but the reality is that both sides are likely telling half-truths.  Both sides are deeply embedded in Ukraine and looking to drive their agenda.

For the US, it is keep the rest of Ukraine under Kiev-led control.  For Russia, the exact opposite of that which can be accomplished in a few ways.

Russians are hold the better cards here because of several factors and the US diplomatic bumlbing hasn't helped

It's the reality of the situation actually.  The Ukraine is filled with various Gov. representatives at the moment (ie: spooks) who are state sponsored and likely working hard to sway any given crowd this way or that.

Same as it ever was.  I'm sure none of the real juicy evidence of what is really going on will come to the surface for a while.  But the Ukraine is pretty much spook heaven now.  I'm sure they have all been given blank checks and orders to do 'whatever it takes.'

It's all Spy vs. Spy now.

https://deeppoliticsforum.com/forums/showthread.php?13163-Russsia-at-War-with-the-Ukraine

While I don't yet see a nuclear scenario, it is a VERY dangerous game both the 'West' headed by the USA and followed by NATO - and Russia on the other hand are playing in the Ukraine....it could very quickly turn ugly by design or by mistake and most are NOT aware that despite the decrease in absolute numbers of nukes, there are still enough to destroy the world several times over and make the rubble bounce. To be fair, Russia is doing exactly what the USA would do in parallel circumstances....not that I like either side doing such things. Its a geopolitical mess, and not as it appears on the surface. The deeper political aspects are lost on most, though much of it can be found on our Forum (and a few other places). It is no secret that some in the 'West' and USA have long sought to destroy and 'tame' for their own purposes Russia and China - something I believe is now impossible [not to mention not desirable nor fair nor legal]. Such apparently small and far-away 'things' have started other wars....the next global war will be the last. Insane megalomaniacs and power/money-hungry persons are in charge of all of the major powers. Life hangs by a thread on this Planet for a host of reasons - not the least of which that the will of the World's People is not empowered, but they are subject to the will of a few who care only about themselves and their tinpot empires. Time for a total paradigm shift. While one can assign blame to one party or another in each 'event', all sides, all major powers are corrupt, undemocratic, autocratic, and insane, IMHO.

"Let me issue and control a nation's money and I care not who writes the laws. - Mayer Rothschild

How dare they go it alone without U.S. involvement!

It's a powder keg waiting for the spark.

And when you have false flag operations you cannot allow suspicious people to check your evidence.

It was the same in the destruction of the debris from the Oklahoma City bombing; it was the same in the bizarre loading of debris from the Twin Tower attack and under guard hauling it out to sea to dispose of it. It’s the same in Syria; it was the same in Iraq…

Remember when policy expert, Dr. Patrick Clawson, at a meeting of the pro-Israel Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) in a speech that went viral on the Internet, openly argued for a false-flag event to ignite war with Iran?

“We can do a variety of things if we wish to increase the pressure. I’m not advocating that. But I’m just suggesting that this is not an either-or proposition—that….sanctions have to succeed or other things. We are in the game of using covert means against the Iranians. We could get nastier at that.”

Clawson, discussing crisis-initiation, drives his point: “And it’s very hard for me to see how the U.S. president can get us to war with Iran---which leads me to conclude that if in fact compromise is not coming, then the traditional way America gets to war is what would be best for U.S. interests.”

As to the “traditional way” to catapult the nation into war, Clawson cited Lincoln and Fort Sumter and the Civil War, McKinley and the mysterious sinking of the American battleship Maine and the Spanish-American War, Woodrow Wilson and the Lusitania and WWI, FDR and cutting off oil supplies to Japan/Pearl Harbor and WWII, Lyndon Johnson and the distorted Gulf of Tonkin incident and Vietnam…

“So if in fact the Iranians aren’t going to compromise, it would be best if somebody else started the war…. [W]e could step up the pressure. I mean, look, people, Iranian submarines periodically go down. Someday one of them might not come up. Who would know why?”

The war between Putin’s Russia and the West, says Pat Buchanan, is not with rockets. It is a cultural, social, moral war where Russia’s role, in Putin’s words, is to ‘prevent movement backward and downward, into chaotic darkness and a return to a primitive state.’

“In the new war of beliefs, Putin is saying, it is Russia that is on God’s side. The West is Gomorrah," says Buchanan.

“This writer,” says Buchanan, “was startled to read in the Jan-Feb. newsletter from the social conservative World Council of Families in Rockford, Ill., that, of the ‘ten best trends’ in the world in 2013, number one was “Russia Emerges as Pro-Family Leader.”

“In 2013, the Kremlin imposed a ban on homosexual propaganda, a ban on abortion advertising, a ban on abortions after 12 weeks and a ban on sacrilegious insults to religious believers.

“’While the other super-powers march to a pagan world-view,’ writes WCF’s Allan Carlson, ‘Russia is defending Judeo-Christian values. During the Soviet era, Western communists flocked to Moscow. This year, World Congress of Families VII will be held in Moscow, Sept. 10-12.’

“Will Vladimir Putin give the keynote?...

As to what is meant by the West’s moral crimes: it is“the West’s capitulation to a sexual revolution of easy divorce, rampant promiscuity, pornography, homosexuality, feminism, abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, assisted suicide — the displacement of Christian values by Hollywood values."

Says Buchanan, “Putin is plugging into some of the modern world’s most powerful currents.

“Not only in his defiance of what much of the world sees as America’s arrogant drive for global hegemony. Not only in his tribal defense of lost Russians left behind when the USSR disintegrated.

“He is also tapping into the worldwide revulsion of and resistance to the sewage of a hedonistic secular and social revolution coming out of the West.

“In the culture war for the future of mankind, Putin is planting Russia’s flag firmly on the side of traditional Christianity. “

The West is embracing a “culture of death.”

The American/Israeli Empire’s expansionist cry to America’s “Billie Bobs” as they call our service boys, is always: YOU go git ‘em!

As Chip Murray warns here: “America, your sons and daughters are the children of freedom. They are NOT some mercenaries for madness and despotism. But as long as the US Military is in the hands and under the thumb of this so-called ‘commander in chief’, that is exactly what you will have allowed them to become!”

Artemus Ward nailed the irony and evil behind America’s “commercial purple” and their fearless leader’s push for world conquest when he quipped:

“I have given two cousins to war and I stand ready to sacrifice my wife’s brother.”

Whoever the leaders, whatever the organization name, the purpose remains the same: the promotion of war, war profits and world domination. Since the establishment of the Federal Reserve and its ability to print money for war, the government and its accompanying warmonger activists have been on a trajectory for more and wider wars.

Naomi Prins has a blockbuster new book entitled “All the Presidents’ Bankers.” In an interview I heard this morning she described the connections between the bankers and presidents that date at least back to Wilson.

As for the united War Party, the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) is the left-wing branch of the right-wing warmongering neocons.

Justin Raimondo, in a hard hitting column, “The New Neocons,” uncovers the dark roots of the CNAS. Writes Raimondo:

“These ‘national security Democrats,’ as they defensively called themselves… replicated the neocon strategy, first, with a think-tank: the Center for a New American Security, founded in 2007 and funded, as the Wall Street Journal reports, by 'foundations such as the Rockefeller Brothers Fund,' as well as 'some government money to study particular issues'…

“Groups like CNAS are financed to the hilt by big corporate interests and the politically connected plutocrats who profit from war and our foreign policy of global intervention. Their intellectual handmaidens in the growing constellation of left-neocon Washington outfits are nothing but the latest window-dressing for the same warmongering, corporatist agenda.”

US strategy isn't failing at all, and it certainly isn't incompetent.  It's working splendidly, as it has for the past several decades.  Most of us just don't understand the true objectives.  We also don't understand the very deep and real existential crisis the global finance system has inevitably gotten into.

Our system requires infinite energy, resources, markets, and money. Of these things, the only one which can actually be infinite is money, and that only by the debasement we see all around us.  So what's to do?  A four-legged stool missing any of its legs isn't a platform anymore.  We're already cannibalizing our own economy to keep the balls in the air, or at least pretend to.  The key to it all is energy.  Fly over the US, compared to either Europe or Asia, and look down.  Just the way we spread out our living areas, and separate them from our working areas.  How can we buy a pint of fresh blueberries from Chile in February in Minneapolis for less than it would cost to mail that same package here from Chile?  Energy so cheap it might as well be free. Energy is no longer going to be that cheap.  We won't run out, but what remains is in smaller and smaller deposits, requiring more and more capital and energy to extract.

Get out an atlas.  Look at all the countries in which the US has either overtly or covertly intervened in the past 20 years.  They're all around the perimeter of China and Russia, or sit atop reserves of vital resources, or are along the routes those resources need to be shipped to markets, or are where China has made massive investments in foreign resource infrastructure.

The point is clearly manifold. To keep Russia and China occupied with instability on their borders.  To put those resources in cold-storage, by creating situations too dangerous to allow anyone to exploit those resources without a full-scale invasion, which only the US is currently equipped to perform.

The methods are not the ancient methods of Empire, but the purpose is the same.  We don't want or need to occupy colonies with armed men.  We can instead use the global finance system to find the cruelest, most corrupt, and least willing to compromise in each area, put them in power, and give them a massive (though still paltry, percentage-wise) cut of the profits (anticipated or real) from the resources. Better still, we force the proxies to surrender the taxing mechanism of their own governments to the global finance elites.  The proxies extract the financial wealth of their countries' people to fund their own precarious power, and actually their own personal survival.

These proxies are insane and vicious, and hated by their people, so they are utterly dependent on US military assistance and they have to brutally repress their people. This creates a cycle of violence and fear, making the proxies even more dependent.  If they let their guard down for a second, they'll be torn limb from limb.  The chaotic violence makes the situation more secure for us, not anyone else.  China built all kinds of oil infrastructure in Libya and Sudan.  They can't use it now, can they?  Russia is going to have to take on the economic basket case that is Ukraine.  Iran can't build a pipeline to China now, with Afghanistan in flames.  Syria in flames serves many useful purposes; keeps the Gulf despotisms busy, keeps Europe dependent on the situation in Russia which we can heat up or cool down as we see fit; keeps Israel on the verge of a complete psychotic break; keeps Turkey nervous and dependent on NATO; and many others I can't think of at the moment.

Is this all bad for "America?"  I think so.  But then recall "Dr. Strangelove."  If Peter Sellers' character wasn't an early parody of Kissinger, I don't know how to account for it.  And recall that all the critters in the State Department are proteges of Kissinger and Brzezinski.  Even Tim Geithner, he whom both candidates Obama and McCain promised to appoint as Secretary of the Treasury in late September 2008, got his start with Kissinger and Associates, from whence he matriculated to being Bob Rubin's fair-haired boy.

Yes, it is a "conspiracy," in the dictionary and etymological senses of the word.  The same people, coming from the same background, with the same contacts and training, "breathing together" (con = together, spire = breathe).  And the conspiracy is working well, if you consider that Dr. Strangelove was willing to destroy the world as long as he could live in a mineshaft with a harem selected for desirable breeding characteristics.

That was an excellent summation of the situation, the US Deep State has mastered the dark arts of Terror.  US citizens are the only ones left who don't see the evil.  That was an interesting point about the US manipulating the EU with Russia's pipeline, I think the rest of NATO is starting to wise-up that the US would sell them down the river without a second thought.

The US would get a huge dose of chaos if the rest of the world decided to embargo.  Americans are fat, lazy and ignorant, but there would blood in the streets if the shelves of Apple stores and dollar stores ran bare.  Not to mention food shortages and $10/gallon gas.

And the US military is a paper tiger.  Aircraft carriers are the monster trucks of military hardware, great for intimidation but impractical money-pits that are useful in a limited number of situations.  I'm not sure how the next few years/decades will play out, but the US will end up as an isolated pariah.

nuclear...tweet deterrent?

anyways regardless of whether or not Moscow is paying anybody or planting zaslon special forces in the east, once again Kerry exemplifies Washington's astounding, mind bending hypocrisy. I mean it's just at the point of full retard, cartoon villain, banana republic "do you even believe the bullshit coming out of your mouth anymore" lunacy.

it would be funny...if the potential consequences were not so dire.

he is standing up there talking about Russia "interfering", in their own back yard mind you, while Washington is not only training, supporting and paying the salaries of the militants in Syria who go on slaughtering innocent civilians in a war that has very little to no popular support among Syrians. but now they are also supplying those same terrorists with heavy weapons, specifically tow anti tank systems which can also be used against civilian targets and with a variety of warheads available, including thermobaric there ability to kill people just increased a hundred fold. all this and Syria is thousands of miles away.

but I am sure the people of Syria appreciate the "freedom and democracy" Washington is providing for them.

oh yeah, and meanwhile back at the ranch (literally) the federal government is taking peoples private land, by force, with full on swat style paramilitary invasions complete with snipers and apc's-

“Red Dawn”: Supporters Rally to Defend Family Facing Showdown With Feds

so yeah America is just a paragon of human rights, individual liberty and justice for all. bullshit.

yet there he is, accusing Russia of interfering with the sacred sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukraine (perhaps he doesn't know where the Ukraine is as most Americans don't) all while the government in Kiev, which Washington is supporting fully, was formed as the result of the violent armed overthrow of a democratically elected president.

it just never ends. Kerry and his ilk are a blight, a shame upon America and a symbol of just how far we have fallen from what the founders had intended.

That about sums it up.   No matter that the death toll in Syria is into the six figures, most civilians along with upwards of 9 million, yes, nine MILLION refugees and homeless.  Then top that with large swathes of the countryside and urban centers utterly trashed, infrastructure destroyed, starvation, disease, lack of water and sewage treatment, basically much of that country is in smoldering ruins.  All at the hands of international jihadist mercenaries moved around from Libya and elsewhere to bring, as you say, "freedom and democracy" to the happy populace.

The International Criminal Court for war crimes is an utter joke.

This is when we will see the next 9/11 on steroids take place.

If Germany decides it wants to go off the reservation to help make that silk road idea happen "Katy bar the door" on what Israel and the U.S. will get up to to ensure that never happens.

Our Leaders are losing it exponentially cause they have no other ideas in their clueless brains to let anyone else have a piece of it.  Doesn't matter that "we" the U.S.S.A. brought it all on ourselves and that the way you ultimately clean out the system is to let it fail, jail those that must be jailed and thoughtfully start over again.  But we will never admit to our own mistakes.  They will always be somebody elses fault.

The tragedy to all of this will be that we will never try to rebuild what we once had because we still think we own it all

And this "is" and "has been" the root of our problem for 69 years and counting.

The US gameplay has been idiotic on purpose. This shit is going to blow, and the most convincing reason is that it will solve several " long cons" at the same time. America must be thoroughly discredited. America must be emasculated. America must be, basically, destroyed. Meanwhile Russia is to be lifted up as a beacon of peace-seeking and traditional Christian values. Of course when the whole thing blows it is of course cover for the debt currency collapse.
The assholes (Kerry, Harrison Bounel, etc.) have been led to believe that this is all about resources and debt slavery. While somewhat true, it's really about destruction of America and then...the real fun begins.
