USDJPY Takes Out 102 Stops, Crude Surges On Ukraine Fears
While the world is watching US stocks and breathing a sigh of relief that they are not crashing (yet) today, there are some significant moves afoot in other critical markets. USDJPY has broken below 102 continuing its slide (JPY strength) on the heels of the BoJ's disappointing lack of additional money-printing. Perhaps even more critically is the surge in prices of oil (Brent and WTI) as news break of tanks rolling once again in Eastern Ukraine. A glance at the charts below and one can't help but wonder how long stocks can hold these gains today...

It doesn't impact the bond market. Reverse-repos are needed for short term collateral, quarter end window dressing, and to prop up money funds. The only thing that impacts the bond market are the bonds the fed is currently monetizing through the primary dealers.

Stocks can hold gains as long as banks get free money and computers game the "market".
Investing now is a fools game. Keep your powder dry and wait for the firesale. Buy when professionals are panicking and the retail investor is revulsed by stocks, promising never to invest again.
I will never buy stocks as long as Cramer and CNBC are still on the air.
I see that earnings estimates for AMZN call for the company to quadruple earnings this year and more than double them again the next, which tells me they are being set up to disappoint big-time, as they've never done anything remotely like that ever.

To look at S&G price charts is to not understand that their value has nothing to do with the number of fed notes one might trade for them.
Ten years ago, I watched them all day long, in the belief they would provide the tell for when the SHTF. Then, once the ETFs were started up, I watched as the new paper dance between them and the Crimex made the whole idea MOOT.
Since then, I've come to realize that the SHTF scenario relies upon less fiction than I've found in existence. Things won't break the way I envision, simply because nothing underlying them is real either.
