Satellite Photos Released Revealing Russian Military Build Up

Tyler Durden's picture

It's not quite YouTube clips, but NATO has released satellite image-based proof that confirms the dramatic build up of Russian military forces along its borders. The images showing tanks, attack helicopters, and war planes, according to NATIO general Breedlove provide support for counter-moves by allies to safeguard their partners. Russia, for its part, has denied it has any plans to invade Ukraine and suggests that NATO is "using the crisis in Ukraine to rally its ranks in the face of an imaginary external threat to strengthen demand for the alliance ... in the 21st century."

As Channel 4 reports,

The images released by General Breedlove are reported to have been taken on 22 March, nearly a month after the unrest in Crimea began that led to Russia's annexation of the area. The photographs were taken by commercial satellite imaging company Digital Globe.

You can see the images below.

Above: Purported to be Russian military Su-27/30 "Flankers" aircraft at the Primorko-Akhtarsk Air Base in southern Russia, on the Sea of Azov which borders Ukraine. (Image: Digital Globe).

Above: purported to be Russian military tanks and infantry fighting vehicles at a military base near Kuzminka, east of the Sea of Azov in southern Russia (picture: Digital Glob)

Above: purported to be a Russian military airborne or Spetznaz (special forces) brigade at Yeysk, near the Sea of Azov in southern Russia (picture: Digital Globe).

Above: purported to be a Russian artillery battalion at a military base near Novocherkassk, east of the Sea of Azov in southern Russia (picture: Digital Globe).

Above: purported to be Russian Mil Mi-8 "Hips" and Mil Mi-24 "Hinds" aircraft in Belgorod, north of the Russian border with eastern Ukraine (picture: Digital Globe).

Speaking in Prague on Thursday, Nato Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said:

"I have this message to Russia: you have a choice to stop blaming others for your own actions, to stop massing your troops, to stop escalating this crisis and start engaging in a genuine dialogue."

He added:

"If Russia is serious about a dialogue, the first step should be to pull back its troops."

Russia has denied that it has any plans to invade Ukraine.

I don't know where these pictures are taken, or even when. But to see planes on a military airfield, sounds logical to me.

Even if they have military in the border region, that might be normal.

Why would Putin resort to force, when he has got most people in the Ukraine behind him.?

A simple vote would make Ukraine split in two.

Talk about vote, and the EU shudders! Not exactly a bastion of moral righteousness.

How is it that other countries (Russia) cannot move troops inside their borders, yet the US can move theirs outside its borders with impunity?

You DO realize that the subtext (subliminal advertising) is:  "Only We in the US and NATO get to decide what's right & wrong, lawful & illegal, democratic & oppressive."  It's a hybrid operation between Madison Avenue mentality and a CIA Psy Op, done at the global level -- where, if you repeat a crazy idea often enough, it becomes perfectly Normal.  Very Orwellian.

The Russians can't sit back and play the Rope-A-Dope when it comes to PR and the MSM.  They have to use Judo/Jiu-Jitsu, to "turn" the table on these war mongers, and "out" them publicly.

Then more recently, nato and the us target the ukraine for economic and military interests, sponsoring unrest to move ukraine toward that end, and all the while putin and the rest of russia witness the constant barage of western propoganda that the american sheeple would normally be eating with a spoon but hardly notice cause they are too busy updating pics on facebook, and everyone expects putin to take all this crap? Imaginary threat until its not. Who knows what goes on in the head of the dictator when it comes right down to it? Should his past behaviour be indicative of future actions? Most definitely. Is he preparing to go for the great kill already? Probably not quite yet. He would be waiting until the US money runs out unless of course his money runs out first.

NATO is "using the crisis in Ukraine to rally its ranks in the face of an imaginary external threat to strengthen demand for the alliance ... in the 21st century.

Putin is not exactly behaving all "21st century" now is he? Whatever that means. Tin pot dictators will be tin pot dictators. Just such a darn shame that the US neglected to pay attention to Putin and instead goofed up in the ME sandbox. Obama should quit the job and take his ragtag band of administration right with him. Won't happen of course.

Time to dust off the likes of Jim Baker with the "lie of lies" before we invaded that other Country that was never going to be a threat in 1990 when the NGA reported that their satellite imagery showed no Iraqi troops massed at the border of Kuwait -that of course we didn't find out about until 2008... Then of course their's the infamous UN visit by Secretary Colin Powelll showing us those nice Corel Draw pictures of mobile weapons "capable" facilities for WMDs that Iraq possessed 12 years later... Then 9 years after that the nice "photo shops" of a dead Bin Laden that we are told was buried at sea in order to keep with "Islamic customs" and the Navy SEALS who never made the talk show rounds to tell about it...

I think it's safe to say that this time around will be quite different.

If the American people can't and more importantly won't step up to make sure nothing happens at this point, Russia and China will most certainly do the honors for us!

It’s the War Party in America that wants to rumble with Russia, not the American people.

Ever since the U.S. Senate “Group of Eight,” led by Tokyo-Rose John McCain, visited Ukraine just before the March 16 referendum in Crimea, they’ve been trying to ignite the flames of war.

Vowing to cripple Russia, they’re calling Crimea’s election “rigged and Illegitimate” while at the same time backing the U.S.-led takeover of the Ukrainian government in Kiev. To get the war rolling, they now are calling for the U.S. to provide military equipment to Ukrainian troops .

They are Republican Sens. John Barrasso (Wyo.), John Hoeven (N.D.) and Jeff Flake (Ariz.); and Democrat Sens. Dick Durbin (Ill), Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.) Ron Johnson (Wisc.) and Chris Murphy (Conn).

Returning home, they hit the ground running to the State-connected networks; Durbin on “Meet the Press” claiming that Putin’s military “actions” in Ukraine represent “The single most serious act of aggression since the Cold War.”

To add to the incitement, Flake jumped in with “We’re going to move forward with sanctions; not just us, but our European Allies as well!”

These powdered and lipsticked hypesters then looked directly from their comfortable media seats into CNN cameras as if to convey to all of America’s young men looking in:  Now YOU GO GIT ‘EM

Someone should give Ukraine two nukes. Then Ukraine could call Putin and say "look, guy, we know we need you...but stay out. We will negotiate all the issues you have with us (ditch the Nazi's, treat all citizens equally, etc.) and we'll do it in good faith. But if you do invade us, we'll have a nasty surprise for Moscow and St. Petersburg. I'm sure we both want to do the right thing". I hate it when the U.S., Russia, China or Anyone pushes around someone else just because they can do it for selfish reasons.

It’s a top-down world revolution orchestrated by the triumphant takeover from the United States from within—with help and guidance from already implanted powerful sources—Hollywood, foundations, key players in government and academia… That’s the opinion of The Nationalist Times:

“Revolution in the 20th and 21st centuries is almost a top-down affair and is a key weapon of the globalists, corporatists, militarists and zionists who are behind the ‘New World Order.’

“What is taking place today inUkraine, Venezuela, Afghanistan, and many Middle Eastern and other countries is a similar process—the subversion of governments and societies viewed as insufficiently malleable to globalist interests.”

It is a Global War on the 99%, paid for by the Fed.

Crisis in Ukraine: anti-Maidan protesters in Kharkov detain US mercenary

10 April 2014

"Anti-Maidan activists have detained a foreign national in Kharkov’s Beketova Street and posted the video footage on the web. The same video features a group of aggressive people using strong language while interrogating an unidentified person wearing the uniform of the Sokol (Falcon) police task force.

The unknown man, pinned to the ground, speaks English and says he is a US citizen. This proves the earlier reports that US mercenaries have indeed arrived to take part in a military operation in the southeast of Ukraine. The mercenaries have indeed changed into the uniforms of one of Ukraine’s elite police task forces."

Pete Papaherakies in “Gyorgy Schwartz: The man behind the mess in Ukraine,” charges that “predatory speculator George Soros has been funding the unrest in Ukraine.” Says Papaherakies in AFP:

“The rebellion in Ukraine was orchestrated by Western bankers as part of a vicious chess game that pits Washington against Moscow…the main player in this global game has been Hungarian billionaire George Soros… By his own admission, he helped engineer coups in Slovakia and Croatia, was the prime instigator behind the wars in Yugoslavia and helped kick off the Rose Revolution in Georgia. When Soros targets a country for ‘regime change’ he begins by creating a shadow government ready to assume power when the opportunity arises…

“Soros was instrumental in exploiting Ukraine’s privatization process in the 1990s to bring Jewish oligarchs into power like in Boris Yeltsin’s Russia.

“Viktor Yanukovych was first elected prime minister in 2004, but Soros orchestrated a public outcry called the ‘Orange Revolution,’ which instead brought to power pro-EU politicians Viktor Yushchenko and Yulia Tymoshenko.

“Yanukovych was elected president again in 2010 in a decisive election observed by 22 countries.

"The Euromaidan protests started in November 2013, only because Yanukovych refused to sign an association agreement with the European Union, choosing instead to pursue a Russian loan bailout. ….”

Kiev's tanks are now on the outskirts of the main Russian Ukrainian cities. The ultimatum has under 24 hours to go before Kiev says it's freedom fighters will liberate these cities and use viloence to do it. I would suggest Putin move those troops closer to the border, for they may be need before the night is over in the East Ukraine. Yesterday a number of good videos were posted of Urkaine's military forces moving out from rail heads towards the hold out cities. Many old out of shape men and many old out of order light APC's some really old large anti tank guns as well. Not much show of heavy tanks, those would be in defensive border postions.

The million dollar question is "Does Putin sit the invasion of East Ukraine out?" I think it depends on the level of violence the Kiev government uses. Enough deaths of Russian Ukrainians might promt a measured response. Like perhaps multiple Iskander strikes on important Ukrainian command and control targets, using cluster bomb warheads. Like when Russia ended the eltie Georgian Tank regiment's attempt to saddle up at their base and join the war. Iskander destroyed this unit in it's base before it could even move. It was a shock to NATO's Georgian Army, and pretty much ended any real resistance. This allowed Russia to enter Georgia, destroy military targets and then leave Georgia to the Georgians. The same could happen in East Ukraine.

NATO has to decide if they are prepared to start World War III in the next few days. I agree with many other posters who have said that this whole Ukraine thing was planned to distract the West from it's fiat induced economic shit storm. It can not be avoided, but IT can be distracted from. An age old tactic of elites, since the late neolithic age, or at latest the early bronze age.

Putins recent communication about gas was a shrewd move to remind the west that it is playing a game that Russia is not without it's own cards to play. The senselessness of this Ukraine coup and now attack on East Ukraine can only be NATO and the USA doing a move to distract the populations.

The US Emperor has no clothes. Make no mistake, this is game over for the US dollar and the US Empire. Expect a devaluation against foreign imports of up to 80% in the coming 3 years. US and NATO are using the media to portray Putin as 'Hitler' trying to rebuild the USSR through military expansion/conquest. The average person reading this propaganda needs to understand that Putin is playing a MUCH more sophisticated game using economics and fair trade deals. I suspect he will win the cold war (his ultimate objective) after Russia being almost KO'd in the 90s, by rebuilding the old USSR as a NEW RUSSIA formed through economic/trade partnerships NOT by war and military oppression. Putin is no fool. He learned from the past and understands why the USSR and now the USSA failed as a superpowers. Russia is the new USA and will be reassembled to greatness through mutual prosperity with the fractured states of the eastern block and Asia.

The USSA has abused the reserve currency for too long and with QE it signed its death warrant. The rest of the world want a fair trade environment and the USSA is in the way. Its game over for the USSA and anyone too afraid to accept this is in a suicidal normalcy bias. The great US power is not our right and from an international perspective it is a criminally abused power. The US government has become far to large and now breaks the law against its people as well as invading who it wishes. The US government is utterly corrupted so as to sustain its self. You know when an Empire has gone to far when it's own patriotic citizens are calling for the distraction of the domestic currency in order to eradicate it's tyrannical government/leaders. That is where we are today, 'we the people' want and end to this massive tyrannical US government as much as the citizens of the international community.
