Guest Post: Real Americans Are Ready To Snap
Submitted by Brandon Smith of Alt-Market blog,
Despite popular belief, every culture of every nation draws a line in the sand against government tyranny. The problem is, many draw this line so close to total defeat that it rarely matters. For the Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto, for instance, it wasn't until the Germans had already herded millions onto railroad cars destined for death camps and cornered the rest into dilapidated central housing that the ZOB resistance was formed, only to be wiped out a month later. Perhaps hindsight is 20/20, but clearly too many freedom movements throughout history waited too long to respond to the trespasses of oligarchs.
The Founding Fathers frequently struggled with the proper measure of resistance. Many colonials wanted vengeance on the British after the Boston Massacre in March of 1770, but patriots knew that the timing was not right. The battle to rally citizens to the cause and to educate the masses as much as possible on the facts took precedence over the desire to enter conflict. The Founders endured five more years of British government criminality until nearly 80 farmers and militiamen stood outnumbered on Lexington Green on April 19th, 1775 to confront an army of 700 British regulars on a mission to capture rebel leaders and destroy weapons caches. No one knew at the time that the war would be sparked that day, but everyone knew that a fight was inevitable and near.
I believe the same feeling hangs in the air of modern America for REAL Americans, and by “real”, I mean those who actually support and defend the constitutional values and principles that lay at the foundation of our society. We sense that something is coming; a great change, or an unstoppable reckoning.
The question of when to strike back is pivotal to any resistance movement. Turn to violence too soon or without proper cause in the eyes of the public, and the rebellion may lose the moral high ground and the support of the populace. Wait too long, and the totalitarian hordes may be too far entrenched, forcing the rebellion to fight from a position of strategic weakness.
There are those who might argue that America crossed the “red line” long ago and now our society is simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic while arguing over futile semantics. In certain respects, I can see their point. The U.S. political system is utterly lost. Anyone who still has faith in the Left/Right paradigm after two terms of George W. Bush and nearly two terms of Barack Obama is either insane, or mentally challenged. It should be obvious to Republicans and Democrats alike that our government does NOT represent the average man, and our election process is a sham. Democrats in particular should be equally furious and ashamed as the candidate they blindly worshiped to the point of cultism has now forsaken every value they thought he represented.
The legal apparatus of the U.S. is also beyond repair. Those in the mainstream who argue that grievances with government should be addressed by the courts instead of independent action obviously have not considered that the courts continuously uphold and defend legislation like that contained within the NDAA, which allows for rendition, torture, and even assassination of American citizens without trial or due process. And where are the prosecutions of Constitutional violations by the NSA? Why aren't men like James Clapper in prison for lying directly to Congress. Why hasn't Eric Holder been slapped in irons for his involvement with “Fast and Furious”? And what about the international financiers who back these politicians? How many of them have been prosecuted for their involvement in the toxic derivatives scandals that are destroying our economy to this day?
No, we lost the courts a long time ago. They will do nothing to save this country. But is the fight already over? I think not.
Nihilism is tempting for those people who are lazy and frightened and looking for a philosophical excuse to run away from making a stand. Claiming the fight is lost before it has truly begun is a longstanding tradition amongst millions upon millions of cowards through history. Every freedom fighter in every great revolution for liberty has heard the same arguments that we hear today – “It's too late to change things. The enemy is too powerful and you will be crushed. The nail that sticks up will eventually be hammered down. Your movement is a minority on the fringe and no one will support you. None of you have the guts to really follow through...”
While there is certainly much to despair in the state of our nation, I find the notion that Americans will do nothing in response misplaced and ignorant. From what I have observed, it is not a question of “if” citizens snap, but when.
With objective eyes one could easily see it during the last attempts by the federal government to pass anti-gun legislation that would have led to confiscation. Pro-2nd Amendment protests erupted all over the country (though the MSM mostly ignored them) with participants far outnumbering the miniscule groups in support of gun control. The sentiment amongst millions of gun owners and millions of Liberty Movement proponents was that we were not going to allow government enforcement of new gun laws. Period. If that meant we had to start using those same guns to put an end to government, then that was exactly what we would do. The feds, of course, buckled.
Rather than take the more dangerous and unifying direct route of federal legislation, gun grabbers have shifted strategies, isolating and targeting specific states they believe will be more pliable and easier to conquer. Connecticut and parts of New York, however, have shown that even people in the most socialist of states have no intention of complying with gun registration or confiscation. In Connecticut, only 38,000 high capacity magazines were registered according to the new gun laws, while approximately 2.4 million purchased through retail remain unaccounted for. Only 50,000 “assault weapons” were registered, while at least 300,000 remain unaccounted for. A sizable number of police are also refusing to enforce registration measures (some out of constitutional loyalty, and some out of a desire for self preservation), causing the state of Connecticut to back off of its hard line rhetoric.
I can say with full confidence that the conditions within Connecticut alone would lead to an open shooting war if officials actually attempt to enforce registration and confiscation. If Safe Act-style legislation or executive orders are ever enforced at a national level, I have no doubt revolution would follow.
The latest hotbed I have witnessed is the Bureau of Land Management attack on a cattle farmer in Clark County, Nevada owned by Cliven Bundy. The BLM has so far stolen over 500 cattle from Bundy on the grounds that the federal government owns the land his family has been using for grazing pasture for generations. The confiscation was implemented under the auspices of “protection for endangered species”. The species in this instance being a desert tortoise.
The methods used by the BLM resemble a militant raid, with hundreds of agents, helicopters, and even snipers at their disposal. Adding insult to injury and making the issue a national concern, the feds have also staged “First Amendment Zones” miles away from their activities to keep protestors away.
This may seem like a minor event, a tiff over cattle grazing or possibly property rights, but there is much more going on here.
Tyranny leaves lasting scars, and each tyrannical act results in an accumulation of wounds on the public psyche that do not heal. In the end, a single event can become a trigger to unleash a torrent of rage pent up in a population for years or decades. The fight for Cliven Bundy's farm has the potential to become such a trigger.
So far, federal abuses have been primarily toward Bundy's cattle, with confiscation ongoing and suspicions that a number of the cows are being killed. Here, protestors try to stop a truck from leaving the area which they believed might be carrying dead animals. Agents respond with dogs and tasers.
However, I believe that if this situation escalates into a Waco or Ruby Ridge brand of event, not only Liberty Movement residents of Nevada, but Liberty Movement champions across the nation will indeed finally throw down the gauntlet. What does that mean? It means they are going to start shooting. Opposing groups can debate whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, but the reality is that one way or another, it is going to happen.
Discussions within the movement are far from apathetic. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of eyes are watching every move of the BLM right now, and they should be taking this fact very seriously.
The naysayers will claim that we don't have the will to take action. They are welcome to think whatever they like. But mark my words, Constitutionally minded Americans are not going to stand by and watch another massacre, nor a loss of gun rights, nor will we be entertaining violations of our freedoms for much longer. This society is on the edge of something. It's kinetic, or electric. It is not yet quite visible but it is there, reverberating in the atmosphere. My suggestion to our federal bureaucracy would be to do what they did during the gun debate, and quickly back away.
Of course, we all know they won't.
Do the elites want to stir up insurgency in order to give pretense for a larger crackdown? They very well might. But it is transparent in the way they try to mitigate dissent and offer placation that they do not want a rebellion larger than they can manage. I think it is far too late for that. I think they've pissed off too many people, instead of just enough people. I think that though most pretend-Americans will do nothing but watch in horror or hide in their hovels, the size of resistance to the tides of despotism is growing far beyond common realizations. And, when this resistance erupts, it will shock even those who fully expect it.

Dishonest-ann, there were plenty of trade organizations which were CORPORATIONS. You're a liar.
What's the East India trading company?
What's the Hudson Bay trading company?
Your inability to speak truth is astonishing as it is appalling.
an interesting and cogent analysis. BS's constantly prescribed nostrums regarding the always imminent civil war or new American revolution and indeed all of the inflammatory rhetoric of the so-called Liberty Movement to this end are based largely on fictitious and glamorized scenarios which romanticize not only some essentially improbable overthrow of existing tyranny but also a consequent highly sanguinary internecine struggle to weed out the friends and fellow travellers of the righteous patriots from an ignorant, despised and ungrateful rabble whom they are selflessly trying to educate, liberate and failing that must rather eliminate. the collosal hubris of such an undertaking of course has to partake of all the trappings of psuedo historical narratives which must be conventiently tailored to reflect the absolute conviction of moral righteousness which forms the basis of the unassailable ideological purism a rigid adherence to which is the necessary prerequisite for the inevitably dirty business of simple killing. it is all a matter of theorizing and speculation up to the significant point when you have to pull the trigger and blow out someone's guts or bash in someone's brain pan with a shovel. after only so much of this, as personal accounts as to the grim and unsavory reality of day to day survival and dealing death have witnessed, that you begin to lose your basic humanity along with the folly which impelled you to embark upon such a noble crusade.
Yeah, Yardfarmer, "the colossal hubris of such an undertaking" kind of dumfounds me! As you described, reality could get real ugly, real fast ... BUT, I am not sure that I could change gears from the civilized life that I always was in, throughout my whole life, when fighting never made any sense, to one in which fighting erupted around me, with all its horrific realities. Rather, I tend to believe that if, or when, things got that bad, I would probably become another one of those shell-shocked people, that would lose their grasp on that new reality, because it would be too different from the one I have lived inside of for several decades.
It is sort of surreal to have seen so much violence on television, while almost never seeing it in real life, and certainly never being an eye witness to the kinds of events that the news routinely reports. To be frank, I can NOT imagine being forced by circumstances to start doing things like "blow out someone's guts or bash in someone's brain pan with a shovel." Indeed, I believe that I am so far removed from, and practically unable to imagine, being actually in the circumstances where I had to do that kind of behavior to survive, that I doubt that I would survive, if that is what it took. I tend to predict that if the social circumstances around me actually degenerated to become that insane, then I would end up most likely being one of the people that could not adapt fast enough to be able to survive through that happening.
You never know how you'll react until your faced with that situation. People do both amazing and fucked things to survive when their asses are on the line.
Gram crackers and volcanism...Tarzan would say...Ahhhhhhhahhhahahhhahaaaaaaaaaa.....
"It is sort of surreal to have seen so much violence on television, while almost never seeing it in real life, and certainly never being an eye witness to the kinds of events that the news routinely reports."
Ah so well put and herein good heart, lies the real problem.
There is a new generation that has been trained to kill for the banksters, and the other half that have never seen death and violence up close and personal. This is one of the biggest problems in America in which, many of the lacktoast and brain dead people do not know what it is like to see death, or to be shot at, or to have to shoot back in self-defense. If most of the people knew what old vets know, that being how horrid and wicked war is, there would be massive movements to end it all, and to not want to be in such a hurry to see yard-farmers coming to a theater near you soon. These professional murderers are coming and we all know it. We prepare for them daily. The problem is, too many people see TV violence and do not think it will hurt them when it comes to their door.
We are in no hurry to see murder and mayhem in our front yards, but at the present course of govt planning and in the face of this planned crash to bring on the new nazi state martial law, all as planned, there seems no other way to wake the nation up to what is coming. It is apparent they will all have to personally experience blood and guts up front, live and personal. Many may not even live through what is coming, because what is coming will be from all directions at once.
Yes Sir RM, seeing the possibilities and being in the froth and throw of war still has no say as to what will really happen when that time comes, and the very real fight or flight instinct kicks in. Speaking from pure experiences, it can be a pretty amazing motivator when it comes to life and death situations. Pray, there is a better way than the planned way of pitting all sides against each other. Let all sides get together and go after the ones that do that to them all.
Order does not come from chaos, the bankster plans for world domination do.
Your vocabulary is awesome, but your grammar needs work. You are solipsism. I'm kidding of course. I just love the 50 cent words you bandy about. Kaplan Testing could use you.
So, no "cowboy up" for you then.
I think the Feds have crossed this line and have no clue how to get back behind it.
Ten country commissioners sympsthize with the rancher, but ONE JERK, the Clark Country commissioner stated that anyone helping defend Bundy and his ranch better make funeral arrangements - that was monumentally stupid, and could be considered a threat to murder civilians - he'd better have made his own provisions, because if there's any bloodshed, citizens will be looking for his ass to string up.
Meanwhile, OathKeepers and CSPOA are arriving to try to defend the farmer and persuade Federal officials to obey the Constitution. All of these people are trained and willing to shoot in defense of themselves and Bundy.
There is a very good chance that this blows up in the Feds' faces, especially after they've already abused civilians. Let me ask - if you set a dog on me for exercising free speech, or photographing on public land, shouldn't I shoot the dog in self-defense? If you pull something and shoot at me, should I not fire back in defense of my life?
The BLM are unconstitutional thugs, who care nothing for the sacred tortoise (they are killing them off elsewhere), and even less for US citizens. They have now called in Rangers from other states, and those Rangers are wondering whose side they should be on.
The traditional penalty fo cattle rustling is death, and the Feds have earned it already, but if they fire upon civilians, they will have invited a battle that they won't be able to stop. Nevada Burning!
That militia is outnumbered, outgunned, and will be outplayed in the defense of someone that failed to pay rent to the correct person.
Insisting on being a dead-beat tends to not go well.
for every one of them shot 100 more will show up. The feds will have to treat Nevada like it's Afghanistan to hold their ground and if they do that the entire US government will collapse in less than a week.
Harry E. Barnes seems to be the only recent writer in English who explained the social forces whereby a citizenry beecomes their own jailers. Barnes was a hard-core academic historian who became so disgusted with the the endless manipulation of "history" as a lie to justify war that he left teaching to write newspaper columns for the Chicago Tribune critical of FDR until he was canned for that. In the 1950s his name was mentioned in every college history department in the world, but he's been erased from "knowledge" in just 50 years. Amazing stuff! You could be the first person in your city to discover him.
Barnes lived in a day when correcting those lies was called historical revisionism, but is now now titled conspiracy theory. He lived from 1898 to 1968, and he wrote the long articles in Encyclopedia America on both Nationalism (standing 40+ years) and its article on the History of History. The only book of Barnes still in print is his 1953 Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace, a title used 50 years later for a similar book by Gore Vidal about the lies of 9-11-2001.
How is it possible that Gore Vidal and his publisher came up with that exact same book title unaware of the prior book of Barnes, which had focused in the lies that brought us into and ever-justified WW2 as The Good War?
Barnes' books can be bought for pittances at the usual (non-Bezos!) sources for old books. I recommend the 1980 republication of Cato Paper 12, and Barnes' 1926 History of Social Intelligence, for starters. Latter is $3.94 + shipping for an unused book in new condition reprinted in 1975.
I'm getting an education in "real history" much better than anything available in university, and his writing is so clear and logical that it's effortless to read him
Even the anti-Jew baiters here don't seem aware of Barnes, which is surprising because James J. Martin was the editor of Cato 12, and the founder of "IHR" which lost in a lawsuit against them where IHR was offering a reward to anyone who could prove that the Nazis used gas chambers in the death camps. Barnes got lumped together with David Irving and James Martin because Barnes had the nerve to say that there is no such thing as a good war, and that alll wars are based on lies, and that WW2 was no different in that respect from any other war ever. Barnes never said the holocaust didn't happen; he said that there were atrocities on all sides in the global warring of the early 1940s, just the same as ever.

The Truth Will Set You Free!
'The Truth Will Set You Free!'
His truth will enslave you
There is only one truth, that realisation that in a fair fight you have won or lost.
Any fucker that tries to sell you any kind of alternative truth is a liar and a cheat and deserves to die.
You're insane.
Any human being could, and millions did, walk right up to the gas chambers, see them, walk into them, leave them, etc. Nazis didn't have time to dismantle them once they lost the war.
Damn, how did those 5000 rounds , 2 45's, 1 Mini 14' Carbine 308 with 5 30 round clips, 1 semi auto 12 gauge, 1 pump 12 gauge, several auto loaders, get in my closet? Because I am ducking ready that's how and why. Fuck you spooks, IRS, Holder you ducking queer. I'm ready let's roll.
drone. nerve gas.
all dead.
You lose.
Next?
At the first sign of nerve gas on the populace, people around here might be tempted to take a little trip to places like Los Alamos for their own WMDs.
again, nerve gas, all dead, no travel will happen.
It's all a military police-state, your last chance to stop this was probably 1949.
Iran & Russia will be blamed so the idiots you hope would rise up will actually join up to the military and half-way through their missions will be forced to kill on American soil, American ter'ists that are actually takin' up with the commies, and anyone refusing orders will be shot for treason.
This is not a new story.
Considering the NSA's abilities, your blabbing on about your arsenal, and drone capabilities in today's world your stated weapon hoard could be reduced to a pile of melted metal with you sitting as an ash heap in the middle of it before any rolling even begins.
But by all means, feel free to boast as much as you feel the need. I am sure the government spooks are cowering.
The Oil has now gone.
USA and west are going to get the Ukraine treatment. I'm more afraid of the nut cases streaming out of the cities than the government. Billy Ray and Jim bob are more competent than the morons at the TSA. Besides if there really was a dollar collapse, you have much less to worry about from unpaid government stooges than everyone else with a shooter. Think about it.
It is fairly obvious that some of the people on here can't grasp the basic conceppt.
This changes everything.
Jim Bell saw the future.
Looks like welfare cowboys in Nevada may be the next Waco and Ruby Ridge for the usual suspects to feast on for the next decade. Sure the government is heavy handed. But so are some of the people in this country. I agree that the government has plenty of narcissistic sociopaths, but not ALL sociopaths are in the government. Plenty of of them wander around in public, own businesses, work regular jobs, and are the regular assholes we encounter on a daily basis just out and about.
Maybe our government is just a reflection of our culture and it's so much easier to point at them an lay blame for all problems instead of looking in the mirror. Regardless, we will likely never have the full facts on this whole story...as if facts matter when it comes to politics anymore.

Thanks, but I prefer to take my chances with individual assholes rather than collective assholes acting under cover of authority, Ed Abbey or no Ed Abbey. Somehow I've managed to miss finding that ideal authority, and all I keep finding are tyrannys of one sort or another.
I'll say it once, I'll say it a million times.
Never in the history of collapsing empires or facist police states has the population be so well informed and so armed. Millions of heavily armed, highly motivated American patriots (civilians, veterans, and active duty military) have been silently observing and waiting for "that time" to come, and when it does they will let their rifles do the talking. I pity the force that stands in opposition to them, DHS, FEMA, the UN, a foreign military... all laughable in the face of the hornets nest that is American patriots at the ready.
As someone who was always utterly liberty oriented but who never got into joining groups, never owned a gun, never went hunting or hung out with the kind of people you [and others] talk about... how would I get the sense that your characterization is or is not true and realistic?
I mean, I know it should be, but I've just not seen ANY evidence in my entire life. Please explain how you know this, or how anyone who sees it this way knows this.
America has clubs. The Gun Club. The Rod Club. The Moose Lodge. The Eagles. Just to name a few. My father was a parachuter in WW II and when he came to US, they invited in to all the clubs as a member. There, the men know each other and talk without worry of distrust because they've known each other for 20 years or more. They tell their wives. Church, the gym, restaurants, bars...you just don't hearing them say anything out in public, but they know ... finally. Price of ammo probably caused them to turn the head sideways...that and ONoIDon'tCare since so many are under medical care in baby boomer age group. That is my guess.
And most of those clubs have an informant - usually Masonic - in a high position.
re They tell their wives...you just don't hearing them say anything out in public
If they "tell their wives" they may as well - for the most part - "shout it from the rooftops"
I freely admit that a majority of the American public is either brain dead or part of the "free shit army". However, a significant minority is totally aware of what's going on, and understands the stakes of what is about to heppen.
It's the highly motivated, heavily armed (armed with ideas and knowledge, not just firearms) three percent that defeated the British, and it's that three percent that can and will do what's necessary to "right the ship" and restore the Constitution and the Republic.
All republics are built on slavery and die when it's unavailable.
USA switched to Chinese slave-labor without realizing it was a trick. Now they too are rising up, but not like the Africans. They have nuclear weapons, fighter jets, an ally (for now) in Russia (against you) and have all the factories & can have any customers they want for them (including military hardware).
It's game over for Empire Murrika. If you're lucky you'll control some states within the former USA and lock down the nukes, bio-weapons, keep use of the drones & have marching militia everywhere all the time to keep the former nationalists down. Or... they'll enslave & kill you all and form a new REPUBLIC.
re ... I've just not seen ANY evidence in my entire life
You wouldn't - if you're not counting Bluster, Bluff, Bravado & Beer-Guts
Not too long ago, three percent of the citizens of a certain group of colonies rose up in arms and defeated the the most powerful military machine on Earth. Why is a stretch of the imagination to see this happening again?
You've heard the phrase "thin veneer of society or civilization". The "consent of the people to be governed" is a paper thin veil that can be stripped away rather abruptly, revealing the good, the bad, and the ugly of what's underneath that veil. The titanic effort and massive resources spent distracting and divding the people is cracking under it own weight, and the instant things go supercritical and enough people rebel, with enough people supporting those who rebel, it's lights out for the bad guys.
I so hope you're right.
I wish I could be as confident.
As I stated elsewhere, my biggest fear is, liberty advocates will just "go wild", get themselves slaughtered, and that will set an example for others to "give up".
As I mentioned somewhere else in this thread, regular folks have ENORMOUS advantages over "official predators" and their hired "official thugs". ENORMOUS. The most obvious being, all but the very top-level of predators work in know locations (buildings), and have to drive there and home every day. And the lowest level of predator-thugs actually wears uniforms that identifies them, which thereby function as bulls-eyes when the SHTF.
YET... the predators have ENORMOUS resources. They have ENORMOUS databases. They have CAMERAS EVERYWHERE. They have ENORMOUS quantities of drones and other assets.
All the advantages the predators have CAN BE effectively overcome.
However, they CANNOT be overcome by people who think they don't have to be very thoughtful and very careful and very prepared and properly organized (into cells that have no way to connect).
And I just don't see any signs that "regular folks" or "liberty advocates" have spent 10 seconds figuring how to be efficient or effective or stay out of cages or stay alive long enough to achieve the results they COULD if they were smart about it.
I would NOT compare people in other countries, because they are not fighting against these predators with the assets they have. This is a WHOLE nuther story. The conflict can be won... I just hope I never heard anyone say anything sensible because they ARE effectively meeting, hiding and communicating where nobody hears them. That would be good. That would make me smile.
Precisely one condition will permit this: a knowing glance from the front lines and turning around and shooting their own commanders and taking the top-level in for treason, holding a trial right then and there and executing them, all in the apparent act of being on the front line against the civilians.
Hey Tyler, you might want to back -up those Swiss servers . It's about to get real.
what do you see setting up this weekend?
Just driving down the freeway these days is dangerous the way people have so much pent up anger and frustration.
And whatever you do, DO NOT BUMP INTO ANYONE ! That is a NO NO !
Do you understand ?!
There are two types of people in this country:
1. Those who are sufficiently angry as a result of real and perceived sleights and injustices that they are absolutely itching for the opportunity to unleash their wrath on those they view as oppressors. Of course much of that wrath, historically speaking, will be directed at anyone and everyone but those most deserving. Think Bolsheviks burning down manor houses just because they caught a whiff of money and sophistication. And while many of their unwitting victims have nothing to do with the current system, they will pay with their lives as pure, unadulterated pent up anger erupts. Having said that, MANY of these people have genuine fucking grievances and have grown tired of living as feudal serfs who are knickled and dimed to death. Tired of being bankrupted through skyrocketing medical costs. Tired of being taxed relentlessly with very few tangible benefits. Tired of watching cops parading around like a privileged class, imbued with the power to jail or even kill you for little to no reason at all.
2. The slimy, complacent and largely short sighted pieces of shit who don't give a fuck about the welfare of those around them (up to and including the ecosystem itself) as they are quite literally so fucking mentally challanged that they know not of such things as knock on effects, collateral damage or consequences. In their arrogance and state of utter self absorption, they cannot comprehend that prices must be paid for certain undesirable actions. And these people exist on both sides of the aisle mind you. On one side you have flag waving yokel warmongers who cannot fathom why a new generation of Islamic terrorist crops up like so many weeds after the death of their predecessors by illegal drone bombing. On the other hand, you have leftist cradle to gravers who simply cannot understand the creeping fascism in the form of near constant surveillance and an ever expanding police presence but otherwise wholeheartedly welcome the beneficent state into practically every facet of their lives, including feeding, clothing and indoctrinating their children.
The bottom line is this: the first group mostly still appreciates the dwindling freedoms that this country marginally affords and quite simply fears being disappeared down a hole in some Bulgarian dungeon never to be heard from again, or worse. They have families. They still like to hunt, fish or drive their lifted jeeps around Moab. Whatever. The point is, they are pissed but not pissed enough to risk it all. That won't happen to unemployment hits around 25%. Until then, FORGET IT. Nothing changes. Nothing.
The second group.....well, they just don't give a fuck. Many of them are not only getting by but getting ahead, still. They make six figures, have insurance, take in ball games, get new cars every 3 years and have disposable income which affords them many of the priviliges that group 1 likely knew at some point (or not) but probably won't ever again. Some of them feel minor discomfort periodically, but a significant number of them are descended from a class that has richly benefitted from this system, and as such, don't suffer the slings and arrows of workaday America for too long. Mommy, daddy and frat brother will always be there to pick them up, dust them off and push them back to the front of the line.
There is also a segment of each class that is not faring well and that is largely owing to the fact that they are hopelessly and terminally stupid. I mean stupid at a genetic level. These poor bastards are so simple that the near constant propagandizing encourages them to hold out hope that they'll be given a seat at the table "one of these days". Ninety-nine percent will do no such thing, but the constant indoctrination with the Shining City On A Hill sermonizing really leads them to believe there is something better just around the bend. It's a kind of necessary delusion that prevents most of them from jumping to their own deaths were they to recognize the utter futility of their inauspicious lives.
And there you have it. Don't expect shit until such time as there is genuine hardship and these people who have heretofore been on the dole are finally set adrift - left to fend for themselves without the assistance of the beneficents state. Why would any of these people rise up against the very hand that feeds them? They won't of course. The man living comfortably in Burbank or Atlanta could not possibly care less about some rancher getting blown out of his boots in the Nevada desert. We are after all mostly self serving parasites whose overarching prerogative is to fuck and consume.
Most people let the government pick the battles and the timing of the attacks on liberty. That is not the way to win. Change the game and play rough.
Those who own the lobbyists that own our leaders are hidden from sight and free of danger.
I would respond to this, but we are 17 trillion in debt. I am already on their list. Why waste more of my kid's money?
Holy crap this place has been infiltrated.
The moutains of psychopathic sociopathic power abuse and manipulation is merely a long preamble to eventual complete slaveship and death regardless.
Better to take a stand like a man, call it for what is it and FIGHT.
Fuk 'em now.
finally the truth of it. most of you don't stand a chance against a .gov bent upon making your life miserable so it can maintain the status quo of power structure, localll, federallly and internationally. the more the status quo is weakened the more miserable your life becomes to the point of danger to the life and limb of every day people. this chaos will be imposed upon you by the creators of the chaos. the usa is to blame for much of the chaos in north and central africa to pakistan and even india stretching now to the ukraine. what have people done? the smart ones in every case have left the country to those who are willing to suffer for principle(fools), too scared to know what to do, too broke to leave, and the stupid.
the chaos is coming back to the usa in an epic blowback of sick and tired of the usa from the rest of the world. the usa will react in anger. most of you will die forgotten deaths in the name of glory or brutal depravity at the hands of the state. the smart people have already left. there is still time for more smart people to leave.
And go where exactly? Nothing has changed, you have no rights except those you're willing to defend with your life.
A huge chunk of the world seeing protests, civil unrest, etc... making finding a safe place a crap shoot. Where will it spread next? Also, unless you have friends and relatives in the other places, it is too late to leave. If SHTF, you want to be accepted by the locals. That takes time.
Man I love the free money as much as anyone! However cam you imagine how this shit is going to blow up when that gravy train stops!?
When I walk down the street or go into a cafe/bar and I am approached with continued meaningless talk of sports, how was your fuckin weekend, what are you doing for the weekend, it's still holding water. When that shit talk stops, it's game over. Until then, im waiting in the wings. When I start hearing chatter from those not like minded, and they are many, then it's game over. Too many fuckin liers, head in sand or head up the ass subjects.
I think the tipping point is much lower. There's a huge swath, say 80%, that will never get involved no matter what. So carve up the other 20% anyway you want. 10% that will gripe and moan and do nothing, 5% that will wait til they have nothing left to lose, 5% that will become proactive.
So that's 1 in 20 people that you meet.
1 in 20 is all it took to win the first revolution.
Stop letting them confiscate your earnings in taxes. You are financing your own destruction.
Yes. You get it. Wait for genuine hardship to hit. Don't jump the gun. Your fellow man will sell you out sure as shit.....
They only way to win is to go for the real target that can disrupt the whole thing for the dictators.
The soft weak underbelly, the fat smug sanctimonious civil service. The petty little bully boy nazis
You have to start killing them, kill them their kids use snipers, butcher them in their beds at night and let them know, that if they go to the office they will be a target ,
They are weak and scared shitless,. but the government cannot protect all of them .. When you scare the living shit of the lowest level civil servants to the point they tremble with fear because they don't want to see one of their kids hanging gutted from a lamppost, then you have won.
Some one knows the name and addresses of these people, start to put their names online names and addresses and details of their crimes, of acting against those who pay their salary,
If they try to shut the websites down that put their names and addresses online, print them out and circulate them.
Fear, real fear, is the way to make them back down and you need a strong stomach to butcher civil servants kids, but if that the only way to survive then that is what you have to do.
They learned that lesson in Kosovo and Serbia, they will learn it in the US too
So...Utah is up and fully functional. great.
Everything is not slanted towards your ability and right to hang on to your puny pew pew. If that is your focus, you are an idiot. There are enough firearms in the USA that makes this battle a moot one. No matter how many guns we have in the hands of protectors, they are nothing but pea shooters against the army we have financed with out tax dollars. In the meantime, other idiots are proving the point that we have been a little too lax in gun safety regulation. Everyone can get one, even the blind! ain't that just wonderful. So, how do we expand the people's reach while curtainling the government's in firearms? We can't. In this mismatched balance of power, our best bet is in the ingenuity, and heart of the people. We have the numbers, and we have the strenght. the duff layer is at least 3 feet deep. That's our ace up the sleeve. We wait for when JP6 has had enough.
500 cows. I was expecting a huge herd ...This is over the top and it isn't the people who are over the top...But their contempt and superiority complex sends chills down my spine.
It is visibly unfolding, infiltrate through bait-and-switch techniques, create mayhem, steal everything, get rid of the witnesses.
The military will fall apart, if required to murder their fellow Americans. Military personel have families too. Who is going to protect their families while they are on duty murdering their fellow Americans?.....Some may comply with orders, many will not.
The same can be said for "law enforcement".....and the bureaucrapic turds. When TSHTF, the evil ones will fold like a socially-engineered gay and lesbian combat brigade.
They want the land to frack it for gas. They want to sell or lease it to a Halliburton type. There are local politician's wives who'll benefit directly, they called in the fed calvary who in turn have their testosterone up for a fight.
Lord deliver us from assholes.
The plan is to give it to Evil Harry Greed's Chinese buddies for a solar farm.
It just occurs to the ever searching innerspace...when this next civil war breaks out between the obama supporters and the rest of the world, it will be the southern folks against the northern folks for the most part.
Or better put, we will see the pay backs as the south kicks the yankee arse and takes back America for the American People first, and then for the prosperity of the rest of the world thereafter. It will be the rise and revenge of the South, and everything south of Washington, DC is Dixie!

I think stealth is best. Of course, I'm saying it very publicly but there are a million of them and 300 million (or 7 billion, depending on your point of view) of us. WE take care of them. We are their maids, nannies, servants of every kind... If we had the strength, stealth would be best. Stealth
I think this thread shows why "pissed off" is all that'll ever happen.
Look at the comments. "Fuck NSA, fuck Obama" and other adolescent epithets. Idiots arguing over the holocaust and other senseless off-topic stuff. More lame "molon labe" and similar fake bravado bullshit.
NOT ONE SINGLE COMMENT about ANY real-world plan to end the tyranny everybody's pissed off about.
Lots of blame thrown around, lot's of finger-pointing, and NO solutions.
Is ZH just a bitchfest like every other blog out there?
Then by all means, show us YOUR plan, buddy.
PLAN #1:
1.) Get your rifle, pistols and plenty of ammunition
2.) Drive to Nevada
3.) Join the Bundy family.
OR
PLAN #2:
1.) Get your rifle, pistols and plenty of ammunition
2.) Drive to your state capital or to Washington, DC
3.) Shoot on sight every politician and/or banker you see
PLAN #3:
1.) Stay at home
2.) Watch baseball on TV and write useless jibberish on the internet
3.) Wait for government to fuck YOU, too.
So Brave Jack,
since you are on the internet, you chose Plan #3?
Or did you log off and pick up the truck keys, to carry out Plan #1?
Will he fight it out alone?
Nope, he is not alone!
Militias mobilizing to support RancherAnother Angle:
Militias Are On Route to Help Cliven Bundy – Face Off With Feds:
Will this be the Start of the 2nd American Revolution? My solution: Knowing that my fellow Americans would do NOTHING to stop such tyranny, in 2009 I left the U.S. forever!!!
I now see that my decision was correct.
That is my conclusion and would be my solution if I had financial resources for it.
Actually my conclusion is slightly different. I don't think America is worth saving. Overall the people have gotten just as bad as the govt.
Rein the federal govt back within the constitution, if that were possible, and you'd have civil war when FSA handouts stop, privilege status for women blacks illegal immigrants gays bankers brokers lawyers teachers academia unions medicine and pharmaceutical industry stops, millions of govt and military jobs disappear, all govt pensions disappear, social security and medicare disappear, govt disability stops, congress perks get cut off, MIC gets cut off, most other govt contractors get cut off, all subsidized industry gets cut off, prison industry shuts down, 20 million illegals spouses and kids have to be deported, couple million murderers rapists pedophiles and other capital crime felons have to executed, million or so treasonous govt people have to executed, 95% of federal govt shut down, president cabinet everybody in congress every judge in the land all fired because they have no loyalty to the constitution most don't even know what it says, hardly any qualified replacements for them, all state police fired, all city govts and police depts shut down, all school boards school districts water boards water districts homeowners' associations and every other sub-city-level nazi regime shut down, and on and on it goes.
See, it's not just reining the federal govt back within the constitution, it's reining ALL OF AMERICA back within the constitution, no way it can happen, it would be anarchy in America trying to, total breakdown of society.
This is something else "patriots" haven't thought about. Anarchy resulting from going back to the constitution, if it were possible.
But it's not possible. No nation in human history has EVER gone back to their founding principles. NONE. It won't happen here either.
Societal degradation toward primitive selfishness and greed never has been reversed and cannot be reversed.
Societal collapse always happens, and it will here too.
Drifter sounds like the kind of guy that uses sophistry to justify his turning rat bastard on his neighbors.
Remember:
Your biggest danger will come from the bootlickers.
They need to be among the first to go.
Nobody will be the first to go dumbass, that revolution is only in your dreams.
Of course we won't go back to our "founding principles." After all, our founding principles, while enlightened at the time, would be barbaric by today's standards: misogyny, racism, slavery, extreme preference for property and capital over humanity or the environment, etc.
You revolutionaries, as you fancy yourselves, will lose absolutely if you insist that the "change we need" is to take us back 250 years. Hell, I'll come out and shoot at you if that's what you're after.
It is true the feds are out of control. It is true that drastic change is needed, and the revolution may be required to obtain it.
It is however NOT true that the ideals of the 18th century are the ideals of today. It is NOT true that the freedom to starve and be plundered by oligarchs is "freedom" in any meaningful sense of the word. It is NOT true that socialism is some virulent evil and that the only alternative is capitalist serfdom. It is NOT true that Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck have all the answers.
Plenty of you would replace the existing tyranny with another that is to your own liking. There are far too many conservatives who have a lottery mentality about their own chances of survival or success under a moneyed capitalist elite. The fact that 90% of the financial wealth in America is now held by the top 5%, and that this disparity has been worsening for decades and is now the worst among developed nations, is somehow OK with you... which is why when any revolution occurs, and the new system is set up, you will NOT be the ones deciding how it works.
For all of you ardent capitalists who think that the only thing required for wealth creation is "freedom," please conduct the following experiment: go out into an empty field, by yourself, and create some wealth. Go ahead. We'll wait here. Ok, we're waiting. Get back to us on that.
For a criticism of capitalism and I suppose what is intended as an apologia for socialism-that extreme preference for "humanity" and the "environment" over individual liberty-your example leaves much to be desired. You see, you've also just disproved the Labor Theory of Value. I understand socialists are fond of this one. Tell me, when I dig a hole on that field of mine, are you going to pay me? After all, I would have expended my labor, and according to the tenet, I am due compensation. It's a matter of perspective, and so it is with lives that were led in a different time. It may pay to broaden ours when it comes to the past.
On another note, I continue to be mystified by the Prog mindset. They'll lament wealth distribution, yet neglect to admit that they and their politics have dominated affairs since the reactionary 18th century. The world has progressed since then, the state has never had more power, and yet apparently inequality has never been greater. And all the while, their theories have held sway. Get back to us on that.
that's a red-herring. There's no real "labor theory of value" except a weapon a capitalist uses to attack something that isn't capitalism.
Labor has value or it wouldn't be paid for, traded, any more than gold, food, etc.
Where did you go and why that particular place? Do you speak the language? What problems did you face?
Yea Where did you go?
Problem is, very few of us know who, where etc "THEY" are.
Problem is, very few of us know who, where etc "THEY" are.

no one can really know how anyone will act the people or law enforcement. one thing we all know the system is broke, has been broke for a long time and does not represent the average person in the least. and a lot of people are to say the least tired of it. sounds like a pile of wood soaked in gas ready for a match to me
Many people have been waiting for this for years and are loose fucking canons without much patience left.
If those motherfuckers kill those ranchers that very well could be the spark.
And yes........there is no way the stupid fucking gov't could control a viral rebellion. They can't even get Iraq under control lol you think they're gona squash the entire US? I doubt it. All I can say is go for it you fucking clowns.
There is no "United States" and no "Constitution" since the domestic enemy Usurper, Hussein Obama, took office. The law is now what evil, greedy men say it is, since the executor of the laws is an illegal entity.
How did the US Federal Governent gain this land within the state of Nevada? You mean they just took it over to protect an "endangered tortoise"? The rancher says that if he has to pay grazing fees, then he wants to pay the rightful owner(Nevada) not the "US Government" (which no longer exists, except for some militarized collection and policing factions, and beaurocrats making laws to protect them--- just because they say so. I'm so sure Harry Reid is protecting the interests of his home state/)...
That usurper merely followed the usurper before, Bush, and so on and so forth. Your banks set up the presidents and kill the disobedient, like Kennedy. No president has the power you think. They are all puppets for globalist bankster mafia.
When it comes to interesting comments on how society is changing. In mid July of 2008 an article by James Grant appeared in the Wall Street Journal titled "Why No Outrage?". In the article Grant writes about how the turmoil and problems in the financial sector would in the past created a huge outpouring of anger from the public.
Now it seems that we are numb and powerless to respond, words like stupid and lazy come to mind. Silent and safe within the the huddled mass it is more comfortable to move with the crowd. If seems America has become so complacent that people can muster no outrage when their right are stepped on. More on this subject in the artice below.
http://brucewilds.blogspot.com/2013/01/why-no-outrage.html
Why no outrage?.....
Welfare, SSI, perma-unemployment checks, Section 8 rent checks, and food stamps come to mind.....Remove those parasitic social palliatives, and revolution and chaos would be upon us within a month....maybe less.
There will be increasing hordes of homeless Americans, including children freezing and starving on the streets, while the majority of homes have been foreclosed upon by the Feds and the banksters and the occupants thereof evicted by so-called local "law enforcement"
No foodstamps/EBT cards?.....Can you imagine 70 to 80 million Americans lined up in soup lines for a bowl of soup 2 or 3 times a day?
Empty cupboards, hungry children, unheated homes, uncooled urban hovels, masses of dead black dirt littering the innercity streets being eaten by feral dogs, and barbequed by the Bloods & the Crips, $12.00 a gallon gasoline (with the collapsing petrodollar), if the EPA allows any to be refined, electrical brownoutsand blackouts from the imposition of insane EPA regulations, etc., etc., etc.
The above is what the Obamaloidal/Demoncrapic progressive jihadist usurpation of Washington D.C. is birthing, as we live and breathe. The so-called "Rule of Law" in America is dead. Our freedoms are being destroyed before our very eyes.....But not much longer! Enough! I am 75 years old, but by God, I have had enough. Powder is dry. It has been a long time since I earned my expert badge on the USAF firing range, but I can still shoot well enough to take down a few of Ovomit's brown shirts and bureaucrapic turds before they take me out.
Molon Labe.
WTF?
Everyone armed with I-Phones
Yeah - apparently it's the new ak-47
Wise up-images are very powerful motivators-more so than mere words.
Think of the images of MLK and the civil rights movement: the images of peaceful protesters hit with fire hoses, nightsticks and harassed by snarling police dogs.
Powerful images that changed the world.
First, if there is a major crime happening in Nevada, you can be CERTAIN that Senator Harry Reid is involved!!!
Second, it is NOT only in southern Nevada that the government is stealing land. Americans all across the nation are being forced off their land, often using "legal" methods. A recent example is the Klamath River basin in Oregon where water has been cut off to thousands of farmers. The federal government's pretense there was to save the "endangered" sucker fish for the Klamath Tribes. However, the sucker fish is considered a "pest", as it is inedible - and is used only as bait! So, what is the real AGENDA? Ranchers and farmers are being forced off their land in LITERALLY every state in America.
Most of what Hitler's NAZIs did was "legal" - that is, in accordance with legislated statutes and regulations. However, the primary law in America (as well as Britain, Canada, etc.) is the COMMON LAW - where what is LAWFUL and UNLAWFUL is determined by custom; and NOT by legislated statutes. The Common Law supersedes all legislated acts (statutes); an in a court operating under the Common Law, statutes are EXCLUDED !!! In fact, legislated acts (statutes) are NOT true law at all. A legislated act or STATUTE is, by definition, merely an OFFER TO CONTRACT. The Common Law is the ONLY true law enforceable upon all Americans; and the Common Law requires intentional injury to another man or his property.- if NO injury, then NO crime. By contrast, a statute acquires the "force of law" ONLY if the individual man CONSENTS to that statute. So with statutes we now have "victimless crimes" - a concept previously unknown in American and British history.
The sad fact is that the overwhelming majority of my fellow Americans today are CHICKEN-SHIT COWARDS - not by nature, but through training and "education". They have been taught to be "reasonable" and to "obey the law" ... even when it leads to their enslavement and ultimate extinction!
I was going to write something but, your reply is far better than my thoughts! Thanks.
You get to the point where you'll either live or die as a free man, or prepare to live as a slave.
Sic semper tyrannus
WHY is this happening? To find the REAL reason, simply FOLLOW THE MONEY ...
A few years back Homeland Security started purchasing 1.6 billion hollow point bullets for terrorism purposes. This is documented all around the web. Yeah right. They say they for terrorism – give me a break. This is enough rounds to kill every adult in America ten times over.
Then there are the 90 federal agencies with swat teams…
Including the post office.
There are people who believe our government is there to protect. Others believe it is there to rule us. There is a balance! Here are some telling points.
When property rights are violated.
When non-Citizens having entered illegally have the same rights and benefits as citizens.
When our Constitutional 4th Amendment is changed to allow illegal General Warrants without Constitutional Amendment processes
When citizens information in bulk is saved by our Government
When our Federal Government Agencies and political bodies enacts legislation that keeps "Heavy Industry," our historic backbone for the Middle Class that is now disappearing, to the lowest percentages in our modern history.
When the Federal Government seek social control of the population against the writings and warnings of Jefferson!
When States abdicate their rights and responsibilities required under our Constitution.
When our Justice Department seeks to avoid or select laws favored and not favored.
When our populace becomes too affiliated with "Party" loyalty and not the good of the Country as prescribed by the Constitution.
When citizens accept Social doctrine over Capitalism.
Sorry, but capitalism v. socialism has nothing to do with it.
We do not need to be ass-raped by capitalists in order to be "free." We do not need to value property and capital more than human beings in order to be "free."
Your pro-capital brainwashing is no better than the pro-communist brainwashing that the Soviets conducted. It's just in the other direction.
Plenty of people want a just society, which capitalism by itself cannot provide, and we do not want to give up "freedom" to obtain it. "Freedom to starve" is no freedom at all. The lies of the conservatives that claim that you have to choose between serfdom under the capitalists or the chains of socialists are just that -- utter lies.
We need a LOT more socialism in the U.S. By the way, the seizure of land in Nevada is very capitalist. Allowing a man to continue to use the commons as his family has done for decades is actually a very socialist sentiment. The whole idea of a commons is a socialist idea -- public ownership of the means of production, of which land is the most obvious incarnation -- ring a bell?
ownership & benefit of your own skills & property, capitalism, aka non-slavery, is the only path to freedom. Remove it and freedom is gone for sure.
The seizure of land is 100% anti-capitalist. No single individual is claiming for exclusive use (capitalism) and theft from use by individuals, not for money but flat out theft, is also anti-capitalist and is what's happening here.
You seem unable (due to your poor education system) to even know what the words mean.
A bunch of people holding up cell phones so they can post on youtube does not make a revolution.
Yeah ok. Do you read the news? There were an awful lot of cell phones in Tahrir Square.

Gun owner, libertarian and desert dweller here - screw that rancher. It's public land. As much mine as his.
If there's gonna be a shooting war, I'm gonna be shooting on the side of the tortoises.
Being a patriot doesn't mean you don't give a crap about people despoiling land in the name of a buck that isn't theirs to make. This guy's latching onto the liberty movement for support but liberty doesn't mean no laws, and what he's doing is illegal for a damn good reason. Maybe you just picked a lousy example, but somehow I don't think this guy's problems are gonna resonate with a lot of people. Sure maybe some dummies will take up arms for him but they're just being duped. Revolutions don't start with ignorant wackos who just want an excuse to start shooting, or we'd already have had one. They start when learned, literate people -- lawyers, judges, writers, philosophers, artists and politicians -- are able to form a coherent ideology and offer a better system than what exists.
For all your talk about a powder keg, you're not fooling most people. The American public won't get behind a shooting war between militias and the US Gov't for the very good reason that they present no viable alternative. If the Federal Government truly collapsed, we'd all end up living in local fiefdoms and despotisms run by militias. No one other than the militias wants that. I sure as hell don't want to live with the management of the local shooting range laying down laws.
Put down the booze, brother. You are off your rocker too early today.
Literate people...
Like Barry Butterbutt, Harvard grad ?
They start when learned, literate people -- lawyers, judges, writers, philosophers, artists and politicians -- are able to form a coherent ideology and offer a better system than what exists.
Oh fucking barf.....did you even read the drivel that spilled out of your brainwashed head? Now get back on your fucking knees, slave. Learned politicians, lawyers and judges? OMFG.....that was rich. A little early for that kind of humor but thanks for the laughs dipshit.
The framers of the Constitution were all well educated, lawyers and scholars. Every other revolution in history shows the same thing. There has to be some educated, informed core of people with a well-thought-out ideology for agerage people to be willing to get behind it.
Hell, even Mao had a book - though most of his followers were illiterate, trigger-happy fools. Not unlike your weekend patriots.
Are you seriously going to suggest that today's politicians, lawyers and judges share even one ounce of the same moral fiber (and that was far less than we have been lead to believe) as this nation's founding fathers? Yeah Nancy Grace and Alexander Hamilton - two of a kind. Good thing we allowed learned judges to rule that corporations are in fact people and can contribute to the political process without limits, i.e. buy politicians, right guy? Those learned people? The learned politicians drone bombing sovereign nations and their women and children then scratching their heads when "terrists" don't just disavow their ideology. And every nation has its useful idiots who allow learned, literate men in power determine their fates. Incredibly, just as in the case of our founding fathers, the rules favor other so called learned, literate men. Hmmmmm
My point is just that you can fight a rebellion with pissed off farmers and ranchers, but you can't win a revolution without an educated leadership that gives the working middle class something better.
To your point about the current crop of lawyers and judges, I couldn't agree more that it lacks moral fiber - but there are some learned doctors, lawyers and politicians in the country who are true patriots, and who could comprise a new leadership. What about Ron Paul? Gary Johnson? My point is that no armed insurrection is going to succeed without presenting a viable alternative to a middle class that's already been cowed and propagandized and frightened to death about losing what little they have left.
My point is that while I'm a firm 2nd Amendment supporter, a gun owner, a constitutionalist patriot, anti NWO, that does not equal me siding with a bunch of trigger happy weekend warriors who present no coherent alternative other than the potential for anarchy. Just like Occupy Wall Street, there's no leadership. In Brandon's article he talks about the Founding Fathers waiting for the right moment. Who are the new Founding Fathers, then? You really think they're going to come from the ranks of unemployed, semi-literate rednecks?
As for why there are so few truly well-spoken people to make your case to the public, I think you can only put so much blame on the mainstream media. There's obviously a brain cell deficit among the pissed off trigger-happy idiots who've tried in recent years hop onto the Libertarian bandwagon. This rancher's a prime example.
Seems that everyone is an unemployed, semi literate peasant/redneck in your world. You'll wanna lose that elitist chip on your shoulder at some point. Just because you and El Bizarro likely possess spiffy college degrees doesn't distinguish you as their superior by default. A lot of those yokels feed you, but hey, minor detail.....
Not that this is some kind of badge of honor, but I don't have a college degree. I just read a lot of history. My family also happens to be more than 50 years in Nevada, I spent a lot of time growing up there, and you don't have to be elitist to know losers when you see em.
And you don't have to go to college to be educated about the world, and smart enough to make your point by taking the smarter, higher road. A lotta these idiots are just looking for an excuse to use the guns they spent all that money on. Everyone in my family keeps at least one for self defense, but having a brain means we also can spot people who carry just because they think it makes their dick bigger. It don't.
So yeah, I'll be shooting on the side of the tortoises.
I think you're missing the point a little.
It doesn't matter how dirty the spark is, when the events of the past decades have created an air/fuel mixture as rich as the one we have today.
About this rancher in Nevada, most people object primarily to the method and manner of the enforcement of the law, rather than to the fact that it's being enforced, or to the particulars of the law itself. We object to the arrogance, the intimidation, the disregard for natural rights, the abrogation of tradition, the legalism, the usurpation of state and local power by distant and corrupted rulers, and the use of mercenaries.
We object to the militarization of the police. We object to the feds owning land that should be state property. We object to federal police powers. There should be no federal organization with any police powers whatsoever.
There are a thousand things we object to, and they culminate and are illustrated with crackdowns like this. We didn't like David Koresh, either, but who could fail to take his side, no matter what kind of loon he was, when we saw Janet Reno's helicopter gunships mowing down women and children??
Tyranny is like pornography. Lots of people are seduced by it, and sometimes you know you're looking at it even if you can't define it exactly or describe its boundaries or document precisely the moment of its arrival. Events like this roundup in Nevada are just another standout nipple on the bitch. When you see the BLM fingering a rancher, even if he's not 100% "clean" like Obama, you suddenly know exactly where you are.
By the way, it is simply not true that if "the federal government collapsed" we would be living in anarchy. What about state and local governments? They predate the federal government. This myth that somehow the distant, tyrannical, overreaching feds are keeping the lid on Hell's Own Anarchy is just that -- a myth. The feds are the problem. And someone needs to mace them. Regionalism is not anarchy. Local control is not anarchy. Sovereign states are not anarchy. Americans have come to identify far too much with the American federal government and its institutions, its flag, its military, its currency and all the rest of it. Any revolution that takes place will have as its aim a return to local and state emphasis in government, rather than a single, one-size-fits-nobody federal bureaucracy that works beautifully for multinational corporations with their one-stop-lobbying circus in D.C., but is a boot on the neck of the little man.
I agree with most of your points as far as how the law is being enforced and where the force is emanating from. But then again, whether this were a federal issue or a state issue, the question is going to remain whether some government has the right to protect the commons against a guy who refuses to follow the law. If a guy's been asked to take his cows off the public land, and he refuses, then should a government -- any government -- have the right to remove them by force? If the answer is "no" then basically it's gonna be anarchy any way you cut it.
government rips things up and sells to developers for oil, gas, parking lots, solar farms and in the past did nuclear testing.
That's how they treat 'public' land, to ruin it and make it non-public, mostly not for food. The tortoises are in no danger from the rancher. 600,000 acres is plenty of tortoise space and under no threat. Cow dung adds nutrients the grass grows from that is eaten by the tortoise.
Take the cows away and the tortoises will probably starve.
Life beyond a monolithic centralized omnipotent bureaucracy? Blasphemer.....it just can't work. Besides, who would mint the EBT Cards? Who would protect us from Islamofascists?
That's why I'm hoping for a convention of the states.
"The American public won't get behind a shooting war between militias and the US Gov't..."
They'll get behind it, or they'll be in the middle of it.
Any cursory understanding of history and conflict will enlighten you.
YOU don't get to choose the fight. Popular -and relevant - illustrations of this point are made in the movies "The Patriot" or "Shenandoah".
'Siding' with the tortoises displays your complete lack of understanding about most every aspect of this issue, and at the same time, it illustrates why the gov't would think it can act the way it does...an ill-informed populace with less-than-impressive thought processes.
"'Siding' with the tortoises displays your complete lack of understanding about most every aspect of this issue"
Actually, protecting tortoises is one thing the Gov't got right. That's the kind of shit I'm happy to pay taxes for. The tortoises were there first. The west isn't just some kind of wasteland for any fuckwad to dig up and destroy in the name of money and progress, and this jackass should keep his goddamn cattle on his side of the fence.
What the hell is there to misunderstand? What is his "right" here?
See...here i gave you an opportunity to reflect and research...a half way intellectually capable person would have said to himself, "Gee what does he mean by lack of understanding?...what do I have wrong here, or what am I missing?".
But instead, you run right back into the fray as ignorant as ever, and in your infinite wisdom, expect ME to do your research and thinking for you, present it on a silver platter, and spoon feed it to you..."What the hell is there to misunderstand? What is his "right" here?"
You, I suspect, are just as big a fraud and liar as your bizzaro comrade in arms. You claim yourself to be a liberty guy, yet engage in completely anti-liberty thought propagation and speech. You stubbornly cling to the thinnest of pretext regarding the feds actions in this case, refuse to educate yourself to any deeper context, and continue to play the fool in the name of the tortoise.
You too are exposed, and thus...inconsequential.
over and out
Way to make an argument, guy. State no facts, make no specific reference to what issues you think I misunderstand, and then make an ad hominem attack on me for not only not "researching", but for being a "fraud and liar". Lol.
I don't see you making a clear or persuasive case for why the gov't doesn't have a right to evict this asshole's cattle from public land. All I see is a "us vs. them" mentality that's not really any different from the sheeple that are blinded by gov't propaganda, except you're blinded by ...what, Alex Jones's brand of bullshit?
Like I said elsewhere, my family's from Nevada, I grew up there and in California, we're all gun owners, I'm a Libertarian, and I don't see what fucking leg this guy has to stand on. If this is where you, or Brandon or anyone thinks the American public is gonna make a stand, you're fuckin delusional. If I can't make sense of this guy's argument or why you buy it, how much less will most Americans.
Hannity thinks it's ratings gold. He's probably on a G5 right now heading for Vegas.
his right is one to FOOD, a right above all else. The tortoise has never been in danger from this activity. Its biggest threat is the BLM that will kill it off. The BLM killed those tortoises elsewhere and they'll do it again to set up a solar farm there and to do fracking. The plans are already exposed, names, facilities, everything.
When nuclear bombs were dropped, not by the rancher, how many tortoises do you think died then?
You're an idiot.
The tortoises don't have a side. That means they were never in any danger from the rancher and the BLM actually has actively killed them before, AND, the rancher isn't the one who dropped nuclear weapons on the Nevada desert. The government paying the BLM is.
You're an idiot. It can't be said enough times. What's worse than nuclear weapons? You fuckmonkey.
Hey BLM,
Moolon labe.
Thanks Brandon. As always, a perfectly articulated case against tyranny.
As a Brit, I can confirm that although the British colonialists lost America when it fought back and kicked them out, they are still holding on to Britain itself and nothing has changed, except the screws have become ever tighter making the system of colonial governance ever more watertight and impenetrable.
Britain to this day is governed virtually like a colony of the British State. The scam known as "democracy" in Britain is little more than choosing "who" will govern the nation on behalf of the British State. There's very little difference between the way that Britain is governed and the way Britain governed Hong Kong. All the same trappings of absoluite power exist.
Britain, just like America, is in desperate need of an overthrow of the current regime. It is impossible to change it or negotiate with it. It simply has to go and be replaced by a strong constitutional system of government, of about 1/3rd the current size.

This cowboy turned his back on the county officials and addressed his neighbors:

The last group to rise up was the boomers (of which I am part back in the 70's) under similar circumstances. The problem is not an easy one to diffuse. For decades being rich was worshipped and all those who benefited from the great credit expansion were idols to those seeking the same.
This period was a free for all binge where entitlements were given out and promises made that can simply never be fulfilled. A time of greed shall we say. While the constitution was being thrown under the bus back then where were the voices? After all it is not like this abuse of power is new rather perhaps more blatent and more obvious thanks to blogs like zero hedge that bring us facts very quickly.
This social unrest is being caused by debt. It has robbed future generations of the opportunities that the past generation fought for and won.
Pointing a finger at the bankers alone and the oligarchs is somewhat foolish. The tens of thousands that are employed in the financial sector have children too. I know a few myself. Most are good people.
Society advances, but not without a lot of hick ups and bumps along the way. We are in one of those periods now.
The millenials have to take a stand and make the boomers realize that they will NOT be held responsible for all these entitlements. Not an easy task because boomers are still the largest demographic group. Looking after each other again might be a good place to start?
.
"The millenials have to take a stand"
Well of course the millenials are the ones who are going to duke this out. It's always that age group who take the brunt of a good war.
Millenials have already succumbed to the brainwashing.
what about X and Y?
too old
It baffles me the scumbags and other cretins the conservatives choose to rally behind. This guy is the latest example. This rancher would have you believe this is a case of private property rights. It is not since he has never owned the land in question or made an attempt to purchase it. He would also have you believe it is some vague states rights issue vs federal gov't issue. Again it is not and this guy has lost in state and federal court on this issue.
This is just an a-hole who thinks he should be able to use the public commons for free for everyone else including his neighbors has to pay annual fees for it. Sounds like a freeloader to me who wants to use the public commons and not pay a price to maintain it and if this isn't a classic macroeconomics issue I don't know what is.
Why doesn't conservatives actually rally around people who are the victims of state violence including the ridiculous incidents of violence that have resulted in unnecessary deaths of citizens by law enforcement especially regarding the use of no-knock warrants.
Nope it is to rally around another rural white guy.
What part of Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 of the US Constitution dont you fucking get? It is FUCKING TREASON. Get out of here you piece of shite.
JC. Another 'copy and paste' idiot. Your right the last 2 centuries of case law at the state and federal level are just completely disregarded and we have no legal precedent. Ugh.
Screw "legal precedent". The entire corrupt justice system is full of "legal precedents" argued by corrupt lawyers in front of corrupted judges... One big fucking payoff - whats in it for me!!! Ugh.
It looks like "the folks" have had enough... EVERYWHERE all over the globe.
So what is your alternative then? Randon and arbitrary 'mob justice?'
I'm a simple man and believe in common sense - something that has been lacking for many years in "our" justice system and federal government. You, my liberal minded friend, see only extremes... Of course "mob justice" is not the answer, however, if you are confronted with a federal "mob" there is no other way to counter it. Courts are absolutely corrupt and useless... So, maybe a little arbitrary "mob justice" is exactly what's needed right now.
It's not random.
You lose all credibility using that word.
When a judge or cop defies the law and uses that defiance to steal life or land only one moral, legal outcome is possible: shoot the cops till they go away. If they don't go away you get a civil war then you shoot all the cops till there are none left.
This is the 100% most legal and moral outcome possible.
For any police officer to do this is to be a mafia enforcer, stealing land & property, killing and/or threatening to kill with zero power of law.
Your words mean, if you beleive them, that any officer and judge can write off ownership of YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR LIFE, YOUR HOUSE, ANYTHING at any time and you are to be shot DEAD if you resist. Instantly with no appeal.
Do you hereby approve of your own execution? YES OR NO, ASSHOLE, ANSWER IT.
So you still think the roundup is about the money? Is that it?
What kind of moronic government spends $3.5 million to collect $1 million?
Or... or... is it about that precious turtle?
I think you're shading your eyes a little, here.
"Nope it is to rally around another rural white guy. " Heh. Very well said.
Unfortunately the ratio of up to down votes you're getting shows what kind of trash read and post on this blog. They don't get it, because they don't have principles - they just want an excuse to shoot at stuff. Run around screaming for a revolution with no idea what they actually want.
Of COURSE this ain't a federal vs. states rights issue. It's exactly what you said - an abuse of the commons by a guy who won't follow the law, and now the gov't's doing what gov'ts do when people refuse to follow the law.
"Why doesn't conservatives actually rally around people who are the victims of state violence" - This is a great point because no one around here spends time giving a shit about the mass violations of rights of innocent people by inner city police departments. Nope. Just some rancher with 600,000 acres who wants to use more land that he doesn't own.
And why don't they give a shit about those other rights violations? Because they're a bunch of white power fascists, mostly. Sure the smart, principled liberty advocates like the Pauls aren't, and I support them. But a lot of their backers, and a lot of people on this board, are basically not much different from neo-nazis who just use the Liberty movement as a smokescreen for their actual beliefs. If the weekend warriors ever got in control, things would not get better for blacks or minorities in the USA, and you can believe the thugs in jackboots would be just as bad or worse than what we've got right now.
Exactly and well said. If this was an issue where this guy owned this land and the Feds were trying to illegally or cease it or degrade it, it would be a completely different issue and I would support him 100%.
Unlike the idiots on here you think the 2nd amendment is the basis for our society, I am been must concerned about the the Feds have reacted from a 1st amendment standpoint but it isn't new. Increasingly the right to gather and protest is being marginalized and minimalized if not made illegally entirely all together. That is a much more important issue than some a-hole who wants to degrade land he doesn't own and not a fine to maintain it.
Was wondering when one of you would drop the N word. Good on ya,,,,
Feds have had a heavy-handed response to this but you would think this rancher owned the land and the Feds were trying to cease it through 'imminent domain' for some BS purpose.
Some many idiots on here you bring this up as 'property rights issue' when this a-hole never owned the land or even attempted to purchase it. He just wanted to let his cattle graze there, defacate & urinate, and degrade the quality of public lands and not pay a fee in the process while his neighbors all do.
You are stupid as shit and a liar 100%.
Cattle defecation is the 100% core nutrient many farmers depend on to ADD to the ground, not de-value it, for nature, for any plants to grow there. It's called fertilizer, you dumb fuck.
Actually you and mebizarro are the trash and the downvotes prove we all know you are. What you write is lies, fraud and defense of police-state theft and threats of murder.
What you support is pure anti-law, anti-property-rights, anti-freedom and is immoral and illegal in every way possible in this Bundy ranch situation.
You know better. You are actively engaging in wilful dissemination of lies.
Every BLM staffer stealing cattle is a thief with no power of law to do so.
Every BLM threat to shoot protesters is a threat of murder.
Every such action requires by law the ability, and the act, to shoot them dead.
By law.
this has nothing to do with conservatives or non-conservatives: such a question or aspect is invalid 100% to this situation, at least in part because there are almost no conservatives nor liberals involved. There's owners (of cattle) thieves (of cattle & land) and threats to murder (by BLM posing as police, and they are not police).
“The duty of a patriot is to protect his country from its government.” Thomas Paine
Sorry to say that but, obviously, you gotta shoot these cops. Enough is enough. End the tragicomedy.
Your right. The solution is to shoot and kill the poor schmuck wearing a badge.
These kind of articles extract the worst kind of tards on here including the Holocaust deniers/anti-Seminites and other idiots who talk all kinds of nonsense. Time to go out out, tend to the garden, and get things done with my son.
They're not 'poor schmucks'.
At the very least they are willing accomplices to tyranny, sheltering behind an excuse of 'just doing my job'.
At worst they are psycho/socio-paths drawn to positions of 'power' over others, and they get off on the fringe benefits inherent in their career choice.
Beyond that...they ARE the front line. So whine if you must about the 'poor schmucks', but they will be - BY DEFAULT - among the first casualties in the coming trouble. And even if ANY of them are just 'poor schmucks', they have had - and still do have - the opportunity to NOT be party to oppression. There have been plenty of indicators as to what is neccessarily coming.
You cavalierly call for wanton violence including killing law enforcement officers here and gov't officials that haven't initiated any kind of violence here yet? This kind of mindset (immediate violence as repraisal) is utterly baffling and frightening. When psychopaths with this mindset truly do obtain positions of power in powerful/affluent societies, a lot of people usually end up paying an awful price.
Good thing is that I would bet your are neither in a position to command and issue any kind of orders of violence and if anything your just a talker.
