Obama is not a socialist. Socialist countries give their citizens:
1. free medical care
2. free education through college
3. extended government paid maternity leave
None of that is free, even in a socialist country. Doctors and professors do not work for free. There is no government paid, the tax payers pay.
I never doubted for one second that it has to be paid for some way. One thing about socialist countries though is that doctors and educators are not highly paid so the cost is significantly lower than in the US. When I say "free" I mean that when you walk in it is already prepaid.
Nothing in life of value is free. You are always paying something, if not in fiat currency then in liberty.
Cuban medical care being great is one of those awful myths. Had Chavez gone to the Mayo Clinic, he'd probably still be alive.
