So Much For The De-escalation? Kiev Says Military Operation In East Ukraine To Continue

Tyler Durden's picture

Everyone knows that the half-life of these pointless diplomatic summits aimed at "de-escalating" geopolitical tensions is measured in days if not hours... But minutes? Moments ago from RT, and literally minutes after the final Geneva "agreement" was blasted, we get this: "Kiev says Military operation in Ukraine southeast to go on despite Geneva agreement." The agreement, which as a reminder, said "All sides must refrain from any violence, intimidation or  provocative actions." That's right: not just "pro-Russian separatist terrorists", but all sides.

From RT:

Despite calls for a peaceful dialogue in the document on Ukraine adopted in Geneva, the coup-imposed Ukrainian Foreign Minister said it will not affect the “anti-terrorist” operation in the East of the country and the troops will remain there.

Soon after the Geneva document, adopted at a four-side meeting between Ukraine, the US, the EU and Russia, was published, Ukraine’s acting Foreign Minister Andrey Deshchytsa said Kiev is not bound by its recommendations.

According to Deshchytsa cited by RIA Novosti, “the troops in the East of the country are carrying out a special operation and can remain where they are.”

So, everyone disarm as the same time... but the other side first.

Well played, Vlad.  He now has evidence that the west and Ukes can't be trusted to abide but their agreements, giving him free reign to take what is rightfully Russia's.

And he got it in one meeting and 2 hours of waiting.  One false move by Kiev and he's in.

Plus, the west's MIC didn't sign up for the agreement, so you know it was doomed.

you have to figure that the west has paid off the top military people in Ukraine, so the revolt will have to come from lower down the chain of command.  and it will take some event to kick it off... like troops being ordered to attack in the East.

I'm still expecting the Uke army to turn on Kiev shortly.

Unlikely.

What we have in Ukraine is a game of pass the parcel. Nobody wants it.

The EU doesn't want it as they cannot afford another Greece. Ukraine does not represent a sufficient present or future market to make it worth the effort. And if you want low production costs and cheap labour those are already available within the present borders of the EU.

Russia doesn't want it for much the same reason. Russia wants to wean Ukraine off its dependency on Russia. Russia has some $35 billion in outstanding loans to Kiev. The only value of Ukraine is as a means of pipline access to the EU.

So Russis needs to maintain its pipeline access to EU markets and the EU needs to maintain ist access to Russian energy supplies. REmove Ukraine from the equation and what you have is increasing economic integration between the EU and Russia. And this extends beyond Russia to China which is already supporting creation of overland rail links to move product from China to makets in Euroland. Cheap toasters for everyone.

The only player who doesn't like this arrangement is USSA. The only reason USSA is involved as the key, if not sole supporter of Ukraine, is due to the fact that USSA cannot permit the above increased economic integration to come to fruition as it is not in the long term interests of the USSA. So they are going to do everything that they can to frustrate it. This incudes the $5 billion to intervene, a willingness to consort with proclaimed nazi thugs, an acceptance of an illegal coup, a propoganda war to maintain a reality distortion field, and mobilization of NATO which is simply another arm of the USSA military.

I doubt the Ukrainian military is presently strong enough to control or evict the rebels. ANd I doubt the rebels are strong enough to march on Kiev even with the latest troop defections and the 6 outdated APCs.

Give these events 4 months while the USSA "sleeping mat pipeline" goes into effect and results in increased militarization and support for the Kiev putsch, suspension of elections due to worry over the outcome. Wait until August when all of these unresolved issues again come to a head but with increased military capacity on both sides.

August will be an opportunity to celebrate the outbreak of WW1 with a rhyming event.

---

Costs of USSA intervention:

A couple of months ago, Sergei Glazyev, a senior adviser to Putin, told the BBC that Washington was spending $20 million a week on the opposition (who are now in power). It is in keeping with other American subversions.

The problem with that scenario goes back to Ukraine as a pass the parcel problem. It only serves its purpose as a broken down failed state.

Even were there to be a counter coup how do the new leaders kick start their economy? The west, in the person of the USSA and NATO will see such an action as evidence of Russian meddling and take an incresingly belligerent stance.

Russis is already unhappy with the extent of its support for Ukraine. I doubt they will do anything to give the USSA increased grounds for belligerance and are therefore unlikely to act to support such a colonels coup or to act to annex any further Ukrainian territory..

I think the real outcome is taking place outside Washington, London, Kiev and Moscow. If you, I and the rest of Zh are connecting these dots then I suspect the BRICS and the rest of the non-aligned nations are also watching these events and trying to figure out which side they might wish to align with in the future.

I still think we see this go quiet for a period followed by a further outbreak of the same set of problems as every participant is avoiding any resolution while playing for time and an improved future position. That leads toward a replay of the events of 1914.

Putin's patience and balance between plain speaking and diplomacy, combined with the actions of the people and putchist so-called government in Ukraine and the exposure they're all getting over U-Tube are eating steadily away at NATO's foundations.  The client governments fall in line, but below the surface the people, from regular folk on the street right up through industrialists and the officer corps, have to be watching in amazement and horror.  And each day the MSM in Europe covers it up their credibility has to be washing away.

Next, Russia responds in a material way to Kiev's continuing offensive, Obama announces new economic sanctions and Putin takes a serious step toward pulling down the petrodollar.  And all of Europe except for the NATO-bankster clients gasps "oh, shit!"

The day will come when Europe bolts the bankster-NATO corral and moves for a deal with Russia and China around security, currency and trade. Which country first?  Germany?

What cards will the banksters and NATO play when it tries?  Can the US use its troops and bases, drones and death squads to stop it?

The European powers, led by Germany, are on a confrontation course with Russia. They are pursuing not only foreign, but also domestic political aims.

The instigation of a crisis and confrontation with Moscow is aimed at unifying a divided European Union and silencing all social opposition. Previously, the identity of the EU was grounded on economic issues, such as the free movement of capital and goods and the common currency. In future, the struggle against a common enemy will replace economics as the basis of the EU’s internal cohesion

--- snip ---

More and more people are turning against the EU and see it for what it is—a tool of the most powerful banks and corporations, directed against working people and creating the conditions not for the progressive unification of Europe, but for the intensification of nationalist conflicts. Parties that oppose the EU are expected to garner record-high votes in next month’s European elections.

Under these circumstances, the war propaganda against Russia serves to divert internal tensions by projecting them outward against an external enemy. This applies especially to Eastern Europe, where corrupt politicians have long exploited Russo-phobia as a means of securing their rule.

Reports out of East Ukraine are that the first wave of Kiev invasion forces proved unreliable and many defected or packed up and left the areas intended to be retaken. Today's evidence is that a second wave of Kiev forces is arriving and this lot is much more motivated to clear out the 8 million terrorists who are occuping their homes, towns and cities. This new lot has more Right Sector American employees. They are still being paid it is reported. It is now a matter of how much abuse the East Ukrainians will accept before they react with their own force.

The USA, by all it's actions, is cleary intent on pushing Ukraine into full blown civil war and hoping to draw in Russian forces. Why? Well, as other blogs have reported, this seems to be a last ditch effort to seperate Russia from Europe, end their huge mutal trade relations, energy sales and prevent the rise of an mutal economic relationship growing into good political relations between Russia and Western Europe. Again, Why. There we must look deeper into American's Reserve Currency Dollar position, energy supplies and US fears of growing Russian and Chinese economic power. A new cold and even hot war in which America can set the EU against Russia is all benefit for America, and all loss for Russia and the EU. Most important is the collapse of America that a fall in the Dollars postion would set in motion.

The Kiev coup was funded and planned by the US CIA, billions were spent, and all efforts are being made to suppoet the nazi forces of west Ukraine. This is the ultimate challange to Moscow and also gives the US a big stick to beat Europe with, the Russian threat. Most EU leaders ae paid huge sums by Washington to spout Washington's line. The people, o the other hand are not keen at all for this US inspired attempt to start a war. EVen German people are showing restive thoughts about this fake crisis.

Key factors to research are. The Dollar as World Reserve Currency. Growing Russian / EU economic cooperation and trade. World energy routes and supplies. An American nation at peak empire with no where to go but down. The Hyper power is a money printer, only the world's acceptance of the green dollar asswipe allows the US to spend double it's own tax revenues year on year. Russia must be seperated from it's European ties, and then destroyed before China can grow any stronger. The US is using the One enemy at a time approach, and Ukraine is the perfect cat's paw to get it rolling. If China sleeps through this crisis, they are setting themsleve sup to be next. At the tops, the USA has a decade more of money printing power, after that it will be certain implosion, unless all foreign enemies have been dealt with and the US Guns can continue to either force peope to accept the printed dollar, ot kill them.

Let me make this perfectly clear. I am not a western apologist for Vladimir Putin. I hate and have fought against Authoritarian Socialism and Communism all my adult life. But, neither am I a liar.

That said, I hope some of you remember the Holbrook Agreement in October 1998. It was between the US, EU, Russia and Serbia. It purpose was to de-escalate hostilities in Kosovo between the Serbia Army and the KLA. The Kosovo Liberation Army ("KLA") took advantage of the Holbrooke Agreement (Rambouillet) in which Serbia removed their forces from Kosovo, which then allowed the KLA to conduct their bloody military campaign, leading up to NATO's bombing Serbia in March 1999. This was never made public.

Today we have the Geneva Agreement, and in minutes it was apparently violated by the Acting Ukrainian Goverment, using tactics empolyed by the KLA.

Do you think Mr. Putin doesn't remember? Do you think he will let the Ukraine do what the KLA did in Kosovo? Do you think Russia under Mr. Putin is Serbia?

Didn't think so.

Putin remembers WW2, Russia will not be a body donor again, Putin will be nuking shortly, I know this because he thinks like me, and a high altitude airburst of a nuke would diffuse war immediately and give the Russians a tactical advantage, if that isn't a large enough deterrent, he'll hit Switzerland where the bankers keep their loot.

If Russians start making  Swiss withdrawals, duck and cover, the end is near.

Why? Because these fuckers in Kiev and their puppetmasters want NATO to come to the rescue. They want NATO to fight their fight for them. Well, screw them.

At some point, Western Ukraine will run of defectors and the new coup Govt. will have 23 pensioners and 8 stray dogs to bring into the EU.

You could almost be hoodwinked into thinking the Ukrainian was just some muppet opening his mouth and letting his guts rumble. Then you see the reports about Nato moving more vessels into the Black Sea, and are reminded that he was just doing what he was told.

There's no de-escalation. Warships are sailing into the area, soldiers and irregulars are moving into East Ukraine from all directions. Buildings taken over by the citizenry are being threatened with attack. The psycholgical warfare and media manipulation will soon accelerate, too. It wouldn't surprise me if something really out of the ordinary happened soon such as some skinheads from Kiev handing out official-looking but fake leaflets at a synagogue telling Jews to register or leave. The western media will dutifully report it as a serious "development" and try to paint it as a Russian action. Really.

I think the objective was to murder the non-globalists all along.
