Putin Says "Use Of Force In Ukraine Will Have Consequences" As Column Of Military Vehicles Seen Heading Toward Border

Tyler Durden's picture

As expected, Russia has promptly responded to the latest "anti-terrorist" escalation in Ukraine both diplomatically...

  • Use of force against public in Ukraine would be a “very serious crime,” Russian President Vladimir Putin says at meeting w/ media in St. Petersburg.
  • Putin said consequences for people involved will depend on how vents evolve in Ukraine
  • Putin adds that events in eastern Ukraine could have happened in Crimea, show Russia was right to support referendum there and says that the Geneva accord is not being followed as extremist groups in Ukraine refuse to disarm

.. and militarily. A YouTube clip released moments ago and taken in the Rostov region, shows a large column of military vehicles moving in the direction of Donetsk region. On the highway M-4 are seen tanks, armored personnel carriers and infantry. Following the column are 12 combat helicopters. Written on the sides of vehicles "peacekeeping mission."

Its the Russian "Return Fire" I am especially looking forward to.

kliguy38's picture

Whatever the "return fire" is >>> it will be a very brief reply.... if our hardened assets can't take out a line of broken down ranchers on horses then our mercs won't like the Ruskies any better

I think the trick was, and still is; tortoise eating cattle.

God help the Russians if we bring them out.

Why is it wherever USA Diplomats land there is DEATH, is it for the Children?  It can't be cause they end up dead also as collateral damage.  It's for the Dollar hegemony.  Know that while your kids play soccer others are dying for your lifestyle.  Maybe it is for the turtles who knows.

In the grand scheme of things on a cosmological basis this ain't shit, this ain't even a fart.

Just lay low, find a neutral place to fuck, and wait it out for your short life, ... sorry, but I'm seriously too IRISH pissed to write tonight :(

The USD is going down and hard, and sadly the fuck-heads ( think 'animal house' assholes ), they're going to go full CHENEY in taking the world down with them, ...e.g. stay far-far-away from the fuck-heads unicorns.

What a silly man Putin is, he has bomber's and fighter jet, no?  Why are they not bombing the Ukraine right now?  Why let them get a foothold?

The Black Bishop's picture

Cut through Ukraine south-south-west and trap Right Sector in the east between forces from Crimea and intervention troops in the middle part. Commmence slaughter.

Cant use bombers if you are trying to portray yourself as a friend of the people. No collateral damage can be allowed.

it worked a lifetime ago:  In early September 1942, the German Army advanced to the city of Stalingrad. The Russians, already devastated by the power of Blitzkrieg during Operation Barbarossa, had to make a stand especially as the city was named after the Russian leader, Joseph Stalin. For simple reasons of morale, the Russians could not let this city fall. Likewise, the Russians could not let the Germans get hold of the oil fields in the Caucasus. Stalin’s order was "Not a step backwards".

The strength of both armies for the battle was as follows:

German Army Russian Army

Led by Paulus Led by Zhukov

1,011,500 men 1,000,500 men

10, 290 artillery 13,541 artillery

675 tanks 894 tanks

1,216 planes 1,115 planes

The battle for the city descended into one of the most brutal in World War Two. Individual streets were fought over using hand-to-hand combat. The Germans took a great deal of the city but they failed to fully assert their authority. Areas captured by the Germans during the day, were re-taken by the Russians at night.

On November 19th, the Russians were in a position whereby they could launch a counter-offensive.

Marshal Zhukov used six armies of one million men to surround the city. The 5th tank regiment led by Romanenko attacked from the north as did the 21st Army (led by Chistyakov), the 65th Army (led by Chuikov) and the 24th Army (led by Galinin). The 64th, 57th and 521st armies attacked from the south. The attacking armies met up on November 23rd at Kalach with Stalingrad to the east.

The bulk of the Sixth Army – some 250,000 to 300,000 men - was in the city and Zhukov, having used his resources to go around the city, north and south, had trapped the Germans in Stalingrad.

Paulus could have broken out of this trap in the first stages of Zhukov’s attack but was forbidden from doing so by Hitler.

Supreme Commander to 6 Army, January 24, 1943

"Surrender is forbidden. 6 Army will hold their positions to the last man and the last round and by their heroic endurance will make an unforgettable contribution towards the establishment of a defensive front and the salvation of the Western world."

Hitler's communication with von Paulus.

Unable to break out, the Germans also had to face the winter. Temperatures dropped to well below zero and food, ammunition and heat were in short supply.

"My hands are done for, and have been ever since the beginning of December. The little finger of my left hand is missing and - what's even  worse - the three middle fingers of my right one are frozen. I can only hold my mug with my thumb and little finger. I'm pretty helpless; only when a man has lost any fingers does he see how much he needs them for the smallest jobs. The best thing I can do with the little finger is to shoot with it. My hands are finished."

Anonymous German soldier

Hitler ordered that Paulus should fight to the last bullet, and to encourage Paulus, he promoted him to field marshal. However, by the end of January 1943, the Germans could do nothing else but surrender. Paulus surrendered the army in the southern sector on January 31st while General Schreck surrendered the northern group on February 2nd, 1943.

"I was horrified when I saw the map. We're quite alone, without any help from outside. Hitler has left us in the lurch. Whether this letter gets away depends on whether we still hold the airfield. We are lying in the north of the city. The men in my unit already suspect the truth, but they aren't so exactly informed as I am. No, we are not going to be captured. When Stalingrad falls you will hear and read about it. Then you will know that I shall not return."

I thought ZH had already firmly established that John McCain was the American Grim Reaper.

McCain shows up in Egypt, then Syria, then Ukraine -- this was after his multiple trips to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Given McCain showing up in a country essentially means the country is about to come to an end -- what does it mean that he no only LIVES here, but works for US?

We're screwed.

Ah sorry I'll repeat my post to you below from a previous article without intent to be argumentative. But first, my gut says this is a long term planned charade/chess game with a history longer than most of us here truly get; regardless its our kids who are next in line to die for "their" lifestyle: Note - we never took a vote and would never have agreed to a vote that destroyed what Maddy Al-bitch thought was acceptable - we have a conscious that keeps our desire to do well in check, few of us consider the death of 500,000 kids as the cost of doing business.

..........prev post:

IMHO slightly simplistic, admittedly not my region of birth or life, but in my experience elsewhere, it is NEVER that simple; always present are the competing vested interests and I am skeptical that they have ALL been outed, a lot of time preceded the exposed US interferance.

It just seems wierd to me that the US interferance is so "transparent", perhaps I am just paranoid and jaded.

Is Putin even worrying about the carbon footprint he's leaving?

Haus-Targaryen's picture

No -- its part of his strategy.

He realises that for every kG of Co2 he puts into the atmosphere, the self-loathing Germans, British and Americans will take two out of theirs, via this cap and trade thingie, at great expense to these economies.

Or something like that ... I don't know anymore.

Yep. That's why he is walking all the way to Paris.

Ignatius's picture

On a side note, I went over to the democrat cork-sucker site crooksandliars and the lead article was some Bundy opinion on "negros".  Apparently, if Bundy scores low on the "negro" scale he must be terrible (note: I'm not racist, but THAT is embarrassingly stupid).  They also were also hypothesizing about attempts to subvert wonderful ObamaCare.  I'm thinking they must be bottling flouridated water now.  Unbelievable.

Cathartes Aura's picture

isn't Bundy a MoreMan?

they famously wouldn't let "negro" men hold their sacred "priest-hoods" until 1978 brought a "revelation" to their high prophet.

makes sense the old dude would still be hangin' onto old skool ways, given his statements to Faux news.

((not my down-ding))

don't blame it on the poor fluoridated water.  that stuff's been around since the fifties and, while said to be a communist plot, along with the polio vaccine and "mental hygiene", it doesn't seem likely to account for the really nasty shit that followed 9-11 like a shadow.

for actual bottled fluoridated water see here:  http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/faqs/bottled_water.htm

Promise you won't tell ANYbody this but..

I got word from a reliable source that they're GENETICALLY MODIFIED ZOMBIE DRONE COW EATING TORTOISES (GMZDCET)  being sent there right now!

Is this some kind of new friendly fire expirment?

Tortoise eating cattle and cattle eating tortoises, in the same place!? Oh the humanity!

Its kinda like the Air Force and Marine Corp.  Marines aren't exactly sure the Air Force is on their side.

Or maybe like the French and anything explosive.

They just went to the border. Won't enter Ukraine I think.

Better to shut down Gas and Oil towards Ukraine/EU as warning, if another fight breaks out then send in some heave troops.

if US and or NATO starts to fire on Russia, Russia should order at least 200 rockets for every boat from the US Navy in the black sea. Fire them all at once. Then call Obummer that this was the last warning and invite them for talks.

Just my idea.

Haus-Targaryen's picture

So now they you all have junked my above post, I say it simply for this reason;

The US and NATO as well as the EU are essentially one empire in its death throws.  Such an empire only recognizes one thing: brute force.  The first people to oppose said flailing empire with brute force will hasten its collapse, which, most of us have been wanting for a long time.

No matter what happens here, it will force the US (a country I love), either directly or indirectly to cease being a world power, and focus more on domestic problems.

blabam's picture

By domestic problems you mean domestic "terrorists"?

Haus-Targaryen's picture

Exactly.  The US government can focus on the evils of Constitutionalists, Christians, Conservatives, Libertarians, and the like, as opposed to unimportant and irrelevant things like a completely cooked and corrupt "market" (whatever that is these days) -- the Federal Reserve, and somehow deporting Jamie Dimon and Justin Bieber.

Perhaps Obama could take a page out of Kim Jong Un's book, and feed both of them naked to tortoise eating cattle.  Bernanke too.

Blabam - lmfao true, dat

Bill of Rights's picture

By domestic problems do you mean The Politicians?

After all they are the true problem with this Country.

AnAnonymous's picture

Such an empire only recognizes one thing: brute force.

'Americans' have been recognizing brute force from the beginning. It is nothing different.

It is somehow very 'american' to see the decline of an empire when this empire still continues to expand.

The 'american' total hegemony on the world is only starting.
