Russia "Forced" To Launch Drill On Ukraine Border In Response To "NATO Build Up", Will Involve Fighter Jets
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu says that Russia will begin "defense drills" today, forced to react to the situation in southeast Ukraine and, more improtantly, the NATO build up, the first time Russia has explicitly reacted to the military build up of the military alliance. There are already tanks amassing within meters of the border (as the following clip indicates), and
- RUSSIAN DRILLS TO INVOLVE PLANES WORKING NEAR BORDERS
It is now entirelyclear that the "truce" deal is dead as both sides not only escalate but blame each other for the un-de-escalation. Russia's move - after US and NATO's expansions this week - leaves the situation as bad as it has been since tensions began.
As Bloomberg reports,
Drills to involve planes working near state borders, troops along Ukrainian border, Interfax reports, citing Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

SHOIGU: IN FRAMEWORK OF DRILLS AVIATION TO CARRY OUT FLIGHTS TO EXERCISE ACTIONS NEAR STATE BORDER
Finally, from RT:
Russia has begun extensive military exercises on its Ukrainian border following the escalation of violence in eastern Ukraine.
“The order to use force against civilians has already been given, and if this military machine is not stopped, the amount of casualties will only grow,” Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said during an official meeting in Moscow.
“We are forced to react to the situation.”
Shoigu said that the drills involve march and deployment exercises by forces in the southern and western military districts, and separate Air Force maneuvers.
And as the following so far uncofnrimed clip shows, the troops are already allegedly within meters of the border...
Finally, RIA notes the explicit warning from Russia:

pew pew pew
Too much money in the pulpit, and not enough money in the pews.
Putin should attack now!
yawn
Scorched earth! Stalin style!
When the Chinese were faced with similar US action they shot down satellites but still Washington didn't pull out of the South China Sea. Washington didn't get the message until the Chinese boycotted a Treasury action in May 2007resulting in a 25bps jump which imploded Bear Stearns and the rest is history. It didn't take long before the US fleet was back in the South China Sea, so the Chinese resorted to launching ICBM's from US coastal waters. Again Washington didn't blink and so we had a second Chinese boycott which forced Abenomics on the world.
What will Russia do? They don't have Chinese levels of sway in the US Treasury market, but they sure as hell can boycott the petrodollar.
We need to start WWIII in order to see if we can end it.
General Pelosi
...and we are "forced" into it.
War is hard on peace. Peace is hard on war. Maybe we can shoot for something in between.
If Russia were to use drones it would be perfectly acceptable.
Just say that the Ukrainian troops were harboring Al CIAda terrorists or that it was a wedding party dressed in army fatigues.
Eastern Europe Frets About NATO’s Ability to Curb Russia
"it will take more than a change of emphasis to re-energize a military alliance that has badly eroded since 1989. The United States is responsible for 75 percent of NATO military spending, and only a handful of European countries meet the alliance’s target of having military budgets of 2 percent of gross domestic product."
"In 2013, among the few NATO countries that met the 2 percent target, according to NATO figures, were the United States, at 4.1 percent, and Britain, at 2.4 percent. Estonia was at 2 percent, and Greece, though debt-saddled, spent 2.3 percent. France was at 1.9 percent, and Turkey and Poland were at 1.8 percent, while Italy spent only 1.2 percent of its G.D.P.
Two new members, Spain and Hungary, along with two apparently vulnerable Baltic countries, Latvia and Lithuania, spent less than 1 percent. Even wealthy Germany spent only 1.3 percent. Over all, European members of NATO were at 1.6 percent."
No one doubts NATO’s capacity to stand up to Russia militarily. But if Mr. Putin sees opinion in NATO as “divided or undecided about whether Latvia’s security has the same value as Germany’s, then he may challenge it,” Mr. Pabriks said.
“If he does, and NATO doesn’t respond in force, NATO is dead,” he added. “We have to give a clear signal that this is a red line, not a red line as in Syria, but that if you cross this line we will shoot.”

United States is responsible for 75 percent of NATO military spending... (note to US taxpayers)
NATO is already dead, just nobody noticed it, until today.
US moves in Black sea, Russia moves to Union pay Card. Next move???
Send the French in first!
sure, so you can lie and say you did better.
They have already surrendered. To no one in particular.
surrender , retreat same shit ..
look at the present and your puss president.
and I am fucking sick of this old WWII French surrendering pussies.
Do you think any force in the world who have stopped those tanks in 1940..dipshit.
"any force in the world"
Winter seemed to do some pretty good damage.
How the hell do you boycott the petrodollar when you're about to invade and occupy a country far larger and more prosperous than Texas will ever be?
Seems to me the problem is with any counter reaction...not with "destroying a country because it was never a country to begin with."
I do agree "final warning."

Cue Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction" about here. And the deer. Because this will catch a lot of American sheeple by surprise.
I'm going to see if I can find some more ammo someplace. If they ever get over this foreplay and get to the actual shooting, it might be difficult to find more of my favorite calibers...
Can somebody please explain why the USSA spends $700B each year on the military when our only "weapon" is economic sanctions?
Because we're seeing a new paradigm unfold where Russia / China / asian alliance have drawn a line in the sand US military won't cross.
So "economic sanctions" are the only thing left and they have to be limited because any sanction they put on Russia has negative impact on US and / or Europe.
Bottom line, US has met its match in Ukraine, not the puny pro-russian resistance movement, but the entire military might of Russia on the border ready to roll in and rescue them.
I'm convinced that this is a trap for Russia. The US has used every provocation it can. It would be reasonable to think that these provocations were conscious and, intentional.
However, there is a chance that the leaders of the US have no idea what they're doing? which is scarier!
"...the end will come like a thief in the night..." Quickly, brazenly, silently. Reckon now would be a good time to get your affairs in order with God.
I often wonder if the USSA's plan is to deliberately start a war. This way, they can blame the coming economic collapse on it instead of their own incompetence, and Congress can even profit by it at the expense of everyone else.
Start what war? Russia against who? US has no military presence in Ukraine to speak of, and NATO isn't about to get involved. So Russia against who? What war?
Yes USD collapse is coming. Yes they'll try to scapegoat someone, and Russia is the most likely scapegoat.
But there won't be a war. No problem, US will come up with some economic way to blame Russia.
Not that it matters, you won't care who is to blame when your dollars lose 70% of their value.
I got some bad news for you. They have no idea.
corporate fascism being the operating system here?
behind the curtain, war is profit.
Hey Sumting please do tell if you find any 22lr!

Alright, we get it. Stop spamming every thread already.
Rothschild always said to buy stocks when the first gun shot goes off. Get ready to buy boys and girls....SPX 1900 party is coming and the champaigne bowl is FULL
rothschild quote:
"Buy when there's blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own."
We may hope that some day it will be their own and the Rothschild clan can be exterminated. But never one roach.
How did buying on Lehman's blood work out. Buy once the early blood has had a chance to dry.
Yeah because once our Pres motumbo gets finished bowing to that little Japanese robot, he will surely have some sort of definitive statement to issue!
Another red line is coming for sure.
After Putin growls at him...
It will be a brown line!
obama, biden and kerry are scouring the world quietly handing out $$ in exchange for allegience....lines are being drawn.
To bad $$$ isn't worth the paper it is printed on and most countries know this.
1. The US desperately needs to front-run the EU-Asia trade that avoids the USD.
2. The US desperately needs to front-run "Oil sales w/o USD" (China, Iran, Russia...)
3. The Fed is desperate in its UST sales to genuine lenders -- other than the note swaps with the ECB (Brussels).
THE USD WILL GET DUMPED AS THE GRC. THE US NEEDS WAR. If not to prevent the USD dump, but to blame someone: Russia.
All else is Kabuki theater for the sheeple: Remain calm. Do not panic.
Totally agree. I wonder whether the White Powder trade controlled by the CIA out of Afganistan doesn't work as well as when the British cultivated in India and sold it China for gold / silver or whether the CIA just doesn't share with the US Treasury anymore. Either way the $ is toast.
Perhaps today really will mark the start (as some have predicted, long ago).
Got link?
what, is this some numerology thing you refer to?
Some planet Alignment thing. i just remember seeing it linked to this date some time ago.
Ok, looked it up- it's called the 'Cardinal Grand Cross' occuring 23/24/25 april 2014.
Last happened 8000 years ago. Supposed to be linked to drastic changes or something.
Hopefully the Ancient Aliens will return and restore sanity, maybe drop a giant pyramid on DC.
if they do, i hope it is a perfect illuminati pyramid. it would be too fitting.
if they do it's more likely going to be like in the movie Oblivion.
Priceless! Plus 1.
some say there are already plenty of "pyramid" droppings on DC, from the beginnings. . .
Here we go...

Thanks for the link ORI, astrology is surprisingly prescient sometimes.
Let's usher in the Age of Aquarius ASAP.
Sometimes surprisingly prescient, and sometimes not. A stopped clock, and all that...
mick's post was pretty comprehensive, bringing in various points-of-viewing the current trends - well done.
I would only add the "players" are where the actions unfold from, individuals of course, and nations have charts too, well worth watching. . .
and the Cardinal square between Uranus and Pluto has been active since 2012- we're on the fifth pass as of last week, and another two incoming - last week, 13dg, Dec 15 2014, 12dg, March 17 2015, 15dg, with Mars conjunct Uranus, in Aries. . . that should be memorable. . .
Jupiter & Mars will be out of the equation by then - so this April pass on 21st is the last with "Grand" (all four cardinal positions occupied) as a label.
interesting times, hmm!
here's my take on your "planet alignment thing" - posted on an earlier thread, if anyone is interested. . .
Hey CA, for old or new times sake, mind if I post that on my blog?
Thanks much either way...
ori
that's a pretty condensed version, "lite" on ingredients overall, but sure, have at it!
I'd also factor in the solar returns, Putin's in particular, given he'll have a pluto/uranus T-square on his sun, active for his solar return year. . . it's a very power-full aspect, given the current situation.
"interesting times", hmm!
Are you in the mood to write a short piece?
It would be very welcome all around, but surely by me and the folks over at aadivaahan and Dublinmicks :-)
Just a condensation of what is "Up"!

this stuff is unfolding at pace V - I think the weekend's Aries moon will touch all the sore spots again, and could inflame. . .
but sure, I'll try and get a couple of paragraphs to your blog before tomorrow, k?
and as always, Mick's welcome to share!
might just get this urge to *post* outta my system, heh.
edit: 'allo my butt-hurt downvoter - care to weigh in with your pain?
I can feel that completely. The as above so below truth of astrology is clear to see, at least for me.
So yes, please do, much appreciated. :-)
Me sees the preface for the next CoD game.
the Kiev thug regime is just the bait... needed to lure Russia into their evil war. if the Ukrainain military is thinking, what's left of it anyway, they walk (or run) away from this and let blackwater, greyrock or whatever they call themselves today... get crushed by the Russian military.
"needed to lure Russia into their evil war."
Like if Putin would fall for that stupid plan ... isn't he the greatest?
The real question is whether Mr. Putin is indeed a rivaling producer or an aspiring actor.
Yes, though hard to tell the difference. I kind of think Putin is an actor given the whole Snowden circus which was/is an NSA smear job.
Ultimately it does not matter I think, for all roads lead to a war / reset.
there are consequences for evil actions. Putting Russia in a position of either standing by and allowing Russian people to die in Ukraine, or starting WWIII trying to stop them from being killed, is exactly the sort of evil thinking that has al but destroyed this planet. so fucking clever they think themselves... we'll see this time what happens.
The majority believe it to be a "fairy tale", but everything is kind of going according to the Plan as far as Biblical prophecy (Reveleation, Daniel, Isaiah) is concerned.
Well for one I'm at least holding on to the hope that it won't include Revelations:*(
Eschatology....MeMongo, Revelations is actually precisely what is happening.
Nothing new under the Sun...
http://aadivaahan.wordpress.com/2010/10/16/comet-cometh-eschatology-for-...
speaking of comets... i see that comet k1 PAN-starrs has reappeared in the night sky this year...
You can be certain that not only will it include Revelation, but that it is occuring in real time right now. We are right on the verge of seeing Revelation 17:11 (the rise of the Eighth King) http://biblehub.com/revelation/17-11.htm as well as the fall of Babylon the Great (Revelation 18) http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+18&version=NKJV
I always thought "king of the north will swoop in" meant Russia invading and occupying the middle east, but it might begin with Ukraine and move south from there.
Btw, US isn't a significant world player in revelation prophecies, not even mentioned actually. What does that mean? US taken out of the picture somehow?
Revelation is mostly about Russia China and the middle east. We're seeing that picture emerge now.
Most likely Russia and China drop the dollar and the union collapse much like the USSR did.
@Drifter:
“Btw, US isn't a significant world player in revelation prophecies, not even mentioned actually. What does that mean? US taken out of the picture somehow?
Revelation is mostly about Russia China and the middle east. We're seeing that picture emerge now. “
That is an inconsistent statement- it is true that the US is not mentioned by NAME in revelation, yet it is easy to see that the US is the 7th head of the Beast out of the Sea of Revelation 13:1-4.
In order to be consistent, you would have realized that neither Russia nor China are mentioned byname, as well.
One must dig deeper, as regards allies, to uncover the meaning of the “King of the North” (USA/NATO) and the “King of the South” (Iran and its allies- Russia and the NAM unaligned countries).
Can you point out the massive crossing of Russian (ethnic) people out of Ukraine? I think they would if the threat was real ...
But who needs to build up an army along the border when it is not being threatened? Ukraine is not going to attack and annex any part of Russia, or will it?
The Americans would have massive arms build up if Alaska was still Russian territory
You can go hysterical with imaginary scenarios but I would prefer to discuss what is going on actually.
---
(edit: oh woe, the down vote brigade! since they started late I ask: are they on the west coast?)
I partially agree with you, but not for any reason you'll like.
There is no reason for Russia to escalate a military conflict. They drain $500 billion per year from their enemies selling them something those enemies burn up immediately and then have to buy more and more.
When you are doing this to your enemies, why would you want to change that with any sort of change of battlefield? When you're crushing your enemies on one battlefield, why change to another?
East Ukraine will have its insurrection and then a referendum and then join Russia. West Ukraine won't recognize it, but won't be able to stop it.
To like or not to like it only fogs the mind.
The question still stands, why the build up an army along Ukranian borders if is to be taken by vote? Because if votes fail it is to be taken by force?
If Putin can squeeze more money from an independent (from russian influence) Ukraine why take the territory? If it cannot be explained by economic theory it is because it is not an economics decision ...
the kiev regime has killed and will likely continue to kill ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine. The government of Russia cannot simply sit back and let the happen, for moral and practical reasons.
Out of reasonable arguments and so retreat to the high moral ground ...
And you make that "higher and urgent(er)" with an imaginary "will likely continue to kill" ... the most common accusation of hypocrisy against the US gov now applies to the venerable Putin, the Just, too.
because they are weak...and friendless.
still...the psy-ops coming from the West is way better than the smack talk coming from the East. Everyone here said it was the USA "coming to Russia" but indeed the headline reads "compelled to act."
Therefore the question becomes not "whither reality" but "what is the next move?"
Or should I say "counter move."
Again...these are PRECIPITOUS acts...NOT "provacative" as te Stae Department keeps claiming.
Russia has never argued over who started this thing ("we did")...nor are they arguing who will finish it ("we will.")
This is one hell of a roller coaster ride however...and with a plain that wide open "it sure can feel like a joy ride." (Laughing all the way to a new record for confirmed kills actually.)
"why the build up an army along Ukranian borders if is to be taken by vote?"
A vote won't fail. East Ukraine will vote to rejoin Russia. Russian forces along the border are there to do whatever it takes to prevent the US-backed Kiev govt from trying to stop it.
Yep, those Blackwater mercs are in for a real pounding.
That was my point, by vote or by force.
Hurray!, for the Red Army is also spreading democracy.
"The question still stands, why the build up an army along Ukranian borders if is to be taken by vote? Because if votes fail it is to be taken by force?"
Why not the exact same reason as Crimea? Move in immediately to secure the newly ceded/annexed (pick your spin) territory.
Not that I agree with the timing. I don't see any East Ukraine referenda yet, but it certainly seems that is what Russia is waiting for, a replay of the phenomenally smooth Crimea annexation.
The energy export angle is interesting, but East Ukraine doesn't strike me as a marginal source of demand. It is perhaps seen by the Russian apparat as a fait accompli at this point. Better to get the productive half of Ukraine and its enormous exports than see NATO with one foot through your front door.
the issue remains to be NATO on the borders of Russia with the US missle defense programs seen as a first strike capability. yes, those Poland installations were stalled but i gaurntee plans are in place to proceed (Turkey also). once the US has Eastern-Russia blocked in with NATO and missle defense, what do you think next move with TPTB would be? full strike or complete economic oppression of Russia? either way, that is a clear and present threat to Russia, from their POV.
I came across some really interesting links a few nights ago. I know some here won't appreciate the religious prospective but I do not think you can deny the relevance to the conflict between Putin and the West.

Recall Asian history in 1939-1941. The US (FDR) was cornering Japan in one economic move after another, and provoking them into a forced move of hostile action.
It's the American Way: PROVOKE THE FIRST/SUCKER PUNCH, to show "moral cause" to its populace that otherwise does not want war or foreign entanglements. Same old, same old.
So true. Just as the puppet governments of US and the Brits did to Germany. Sanctions, boycotts and huge daily propaganda to provoke the "enemy", all while the same hand to secretly funding both sides.
The only way for Russia to stop this war is to aim Nukes near US border like what they did during Cold War. US wont back down unless they had guns held to their head.
The most effective way is to aim their nukes at the White House
Good thing it's Russia performing drills. We all know what happens every time the US does a "drill".
Don't worry, we'll only launch these nukes as a test...

I don't think wars involve mass uses of troops, at least for the US. They have plenty of meat, ready to go now. And they have had ample time to test tactics, men and machines since the first Gulf War.
As a father of five boys, I feel guilty watching this with morbid fascination. Never in my lifetime did I expect to witness half of what I have seen in the past 10 years.
I hear you. I can't believe the shit I've seen over the past few years.
I'd have thought Ukrainian troops would be very familiar with Russian tactics and equipment (and vice versa). Let's hope Kiev backs down.
When did the US last fight "a war" ? Vietnam. Iraq was a non-fighting war because the Iraqi generals had been bribed beforehand to quit. Vietnam was where General Giap kept 200,000 Us soldiers busy.
You are far too sanguine considering you leave no traces in Afghanistan and will be just another invader defeated by the Pashtuns when you're gone.
What the USA has not seen is its cities destroyed by munitions - most other countries have - tangle with Russia and you might lose a few population centres inside the USA
The last "war" the U.S. fought was WWII. Everything that came after was an illegal police action, or kinetic military action, or whatever bullshit name they came up with.
Yep. And even WWII was a direct result of WWI. And WWI was instigated by...... well, that goes pretty far down the rabbit hole.
Instgated back then by the same sick club whose spawn continue to instigate fights up to and including today.
One of the long held truisms in some circles - the US military wins the war and loses the peace - good sound bite perhaps but I think mostly bullshit. Yes very good at blowing up other peoples countries no doubt but in Vietnam for example they fought an enemy whose greatest strength was adapability.
The various Vietnamese forces arrayed against the US continually learned from thier engagements and adapted to negate the outrageously superior firepower of the US forces and they proved extremely effective in this regard. Despite the boneheaded contention opined by the asshole David Patraeus " The US never lost a battle in Vietnam" nothing could be further from the truth - to say they got thier asses handed to them on a regular basis would not be an overstatement - though the greatest damage done was, for the most part, psychological in nature with the Vietnamese actually fighting an average of 1 day a month vs the requirement for US forces to be on guard every hour of every day.
No question in a stand up fight there are very very few militaries that could withstand the US onslaught without extremely effective anti-aircraft systems but adopting a posture of let them in deep - as the Russians have done so effectively throughout modern history - then ............
Getting back to the Vietnamese fighters strengths - morale was definitely much higher as can be expected when one is fighting for ones homeland vs the American morale where you know you are fighting for some wall street Mike Foxtrot Alpha Hotel to get richer.
I think everybody should study the tactics of the NVA/PAVN - you never know when you will need them against your own government........
rakshas, was in country 2 tours, we 101st never lost a battle, in fact the NVA told it's gooks to stay away from the 101st; the men with a chicken on the uniform. your "got their ass handed to them", is a joke, right? or do you define win as in our congress giving up? on the ground the nva got their ass handed to them big time.
do your homework.
With respect, the 101st Airborne Division is a bad ass unit through and through and I mean no disrespect although I generally hold that overall the US miltary machine was on many occasions mauled in Vietnam, with the most signifigant damage being psychological for the men on the ground as evidenced by actions like Son Mai (My Lai) - not your unit I know but there you go.
As far as having thier asses handed to them comment - ummmm well - 2B 7 Calvary Ia drang Nov 17 1965; but even more assymetrical - Rolling Thunder sticks in my head, 650 thousand tons of bombs for an estimated 300 million in damage with a loss of 900 campaign aircraft - although the toll on North Vietnamese civilians was horrific - in some towns killing every living being - although this did little to blunt the resolve of the North Vietnamese forces you would have been facing during your tours nearly 50 year ago.
What was Vietnam to you? What was it to the American people at that time? Total bullshit just like today just like Ukraine - your grandkids being sent out to die so some Wall Street asshole can cover up his quarterly losses ? Vietnam was the final turning point for the US and the american people, the cancer really took hold the MIC came into it's own in a big way and the greatest waste of resources in human history ensued.
If not already, you will soon be in your 7th decade, looking back over the time since Kennedy first publicly indicated a pull back from Vietnam how would you want the US government to have allocated those resources .............
Vietnam handed the US it's ass on a platter on so many levels although, perhaps, a pin prick to the heart in appearance the bleeding has never stopped .....
Sorry if my view of history seems unworthy..
rakshas, I only took exception to the idea of nva winning on the ground, for most of the rest we agree, if you follow my posts you will see we do, but the facts on the ground are not what you implied. I recently read "war is a racket" and wish I had in 68. the nva/vc were eliminated after TET as a threat to American units. of course our MSM said the opposite. after that you will see the thrust of nva activity was in laos and cambodia, they did not dare to cross the aushu valley, for that's were 101st was. Ia Drang and some others occured prior to TET offensive by NVA where they were destroyed in south vietnam. it was safer in down town Hue than it is in todays chicago.
Engaging a civilian opposition in "wedding Party" formation with their chief AA weapons being a flock of goats does not provide adequate prep to confront a force with sophisticated miltary hardware and a long hisotry of driving fascists out of the Motherland.
The key difference is that it took the USSA over ten years to find it had fought to a draw in Af-Pak. Given the balance of forces that draw constitutes a loss. Recognition of that loss will arrive much more quickly this time.
Just do us all a favor Russia and drop the hammer. Its time.
