Martin Armstrong Fears World War III Is On The Horizon

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Martin Armstrong via Armstrong Economics blog,

Russia and China are becoming closer thanks to Obama and his insane policies behind the NSA that have left America trying to find friends in a dark hour. The sanctions being imposed on Russia have sent China into its camp. The USA is finding it increasingly more difficult to be the bully in the school-yard. No former administration has ever acted with such arrogance and blind stupidity than the Obama Administration. The net result is to empower Russia and to inspire a new dynamic-duo of Russia-China against the USA. China supported Russia, when Western countries launched an anti-Russian campaign. With both of their economies turning down, this is by no means the proper time to impose sanctions. All this policy is doing is re-enforcing Putin and placing him in the position where he must become more aggressive or seem weak in the shadow of Obama.

In keeping with the idea that the West/America plotted the fall of the Soviet Union as a covert plot rather than the economic collapse of Communism, feeds directly into the idea that the majority of people see whatever happens to them as a victim of someone else rather than the consequences of their own stupidity. Putin’s statements that the fall of the Soviet Union was the greatest tragedy of the 20th Century is gaining momentum in Russia.

Gorbachev-Mikhail

There is now talk of Mikhail Gorbachev being put on trial. Gorbachev was the last president of the USSR and the proposition to bring him to trial for the collapse of the Soviet Union is being bantered about. This is part of the propaganda machine to enrage the people to justify the invasion of at least Eastern Europe. Putting Gorbachev on trial will be an indictment of the West and further the conspiracy theory that it was a plot and not economics.

The Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev delivered a well received speech in the Duma in Russia demonstrating the rise in power and determination of the New Russia. He stated regarding trade how the West suppressed Russia. ”For 17 years, we were actually kept in the hallway, where we argued that we deserved the right to enter the world trading community, that we meet its standards. Now we have a full right to demand other WTO member countries should observe the regulations with respect to Russian goods.”

The treatment of Russia by the Obama Administration has been appalling to say the least even before Crimea. The policies that are in place and the thinking is so outdated built around an ego of self-centered aggrandizement, it is hard to see how this cannot lead to any place other than armed conflict. I stated upfront, give the East Ukraine back to Russia on a timetable and allow free elections there that should have been monitored. The people should have decided this issue, not politicians. That should have been the serious solution just as East Germany was given back to the West. Failing to reach such a negotiated settlement allowing for real free elections has led to this confrontation with no escape. Both sides now have their backs against the wall and neither will back down fearing this will be a sign of political weakness.

Putin is playing into the conspiracy of a victim – not that Russia fell because of economics. This is going over very well and this is the danger for therein we find the seeds of war.

Speaking of "total libertarian bullshit"

We did not come here to praise Caesar, but to bury him.

And we did not come here to break the law, but to fulfill it:

And let me go further.

Armstrong has the stench of Treason against the United States.

Armstrong: Russia is the good guy country. Putin is the world hero.

And what has Russia done for mankind lately? Or in the last 100 years?

Divide and conquer. It's always been that way. That is the prime directive. Red Team, Blue Team, Russia, US, liberal conservative, black white. It doesn't matter to the powers the nature of the division, as long as it is divided. Slave planet baby.

Try doing 7 years for "contempt of Court" on a trumped up charge upheld by Bush Cousin Chief Justice John Walker, eventually removed from the case, who found in favour of indefinite detention, upheld on appeal by Sotomayor, after HW tried to buy Armstrong to destroy USSR markets and the GS Court Receiver stole his property, a brutal beating by an introduced known violent cellmate and placement in solitary without adequate medical treatment for a plea bargain on a single count, followed by another 5 years in prison without credit for time served and transfers to keep him away from visitors, before his case got attention and Republic/HSBC paid up for their fraud:

I got a kick out of hearing this "exceptionalism" mentioned by John McCain again. We are supposed to lead he claims. Some politicians in South America said it sounded like something left over from the Nazi regime that took over Germany that led to WW2.As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that's exceptional is the BC Big Bud up here in Canada. Please don't invade because of the herb.By the way, does the Ukraine have more fighter jets than Canada?

There is a guy in Canada by the name of Conrad Black, who was convicted by a Facsist Court in Chigago a few years ago, did time in a federal prison in Florida, appealed his conviction to the US Supreme court and won, but the federal prosecuter and judge in Chigago wanted their pound of flesh....so he was charged and convicted on other charges, and was sentenced as per the original conviction....and then released.

Conrad Black this week in his newspaper column stated that Obama has retreated  back as far as the Mississippi River..... quite a quote....

My fear is that if they are delusional enough to think that QE works they might think that a first pre-emptive nuclear strike works which it never will.

MAD – Mutually Assured Destruction.

You always have these nuclear subs under the ice and elsewhere ready to launch the last strike even when the country doesn’t exist anymore.

The Obama Administration has great arrogance and stupidity, but in foreign policy they are actually acting very deliberately. They know what they are doing. Obama is the USA's Gorbachev. He is deliberately destroying the USA just as Gorbachev deliberately destroyed the USSR.

Gorbachev didn't "deliberately" destroy the USSR.  The United States collapsed it economically through the arms race.  That was back when we still had some economic muscle...now it's more like economic flab.  ;-D

In my opinion martin armstrong fears the cabal will see him back to his cell so he sings the refrain to the ukrainian war song.

ZH, your loosing me putting armstrong's likely coerced bias out front and center, day after day. It's looking more and more like ZH is a partner in shilldom.....

The author missed the memo. Russia won't exist as it is now in another 20 years. China is going to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this.

The idea of America getting involved or jumping into a war in Ukraine would have been hard to imagine a  few years ago. As I write this we are engaged in a war of words but the potential for this to escalate into a shooting war is real. Allowing events to deteriorate into a major war or possibly into what some see as World War III is becoming a reality.

As insane as it appears this could become the final outcome. The location of this as a military confrontation is right in Putin's backyard and this is a strong advantage for Russia. It is silly to think Putin and Russia will back down. This means poking the bear is not a smart move. It cannot be emphasized enough this government was not elected by the people and that the military of Ukraine is divided and extremely weak. More about this subject in the article below.

shut the fuck up.

we ARE at war. i don't mean, 'we' as in 'americans' or 'our class' or any other moniker.

HUMANITY IS AT WAR AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE AT WAR UNTIL IT IS NO MORE.

the beauty of the age old story of conquest is that when the world may one day finally achieve one world govenmrnet, it won't make a difference, there will be civil war , aliens, or a conjured war against volcanoes supernovas risingsealevels or the very sun itself.

humans need counteroppositional thinking. trade war currency war diplomatic war propoganda war are all becoming DOMINANT because , thankfully-------every day protacted murder war is actually becoming historically demoted as strategic weapons even out the playing field.

thank god for nukes, or we would never have seen the end of world war 2 to the cold war transitiotn of extended proxy wars. we literrally would have had russia and the u.s. at full scale war for decades.

this can and probably will happen againt. but enjoy the 'diplomatic trade' wars while you can. that is all i'm saying. and don't get your panties up in a bunch.

just like the russians regretting the good ol' days of the soviet, the americans will one day regreat the good ol' days of the ussa.

transition happens, cannot stop whats coming.

I think that the bottom line is that Putin knows that Obama is a coward and when it comes right down to it he will cave in. That means that Putin is convinced that he can win and make the US lose, and that is what will drive the world to war. Obama is without doubt the greatest error in the history of elected governments. His moral cowardice will ultimately destroy America and the police state that he has created will ensure that nothing can be done to stop him.

Russia is formidable on it's home front, but they can't project power very far. Putin knows that strategically his forces are no match for the US alone much less NATO and will keep his conflicts local where he has the advantage. If he extends his forces into the Mediterranean and/or much further into Eastern Europe he would be cut down like so much Kansas wheat. The US also knows this and they know that Russia knows it. They also know that if we push Russia and a conflict begins and then spreads, and Russia begins to lose tanks, planes and ships they will have to resort to nukes. In short, Russia is outgunned (even if China helps them) and could have their military decimated or start a nuclear war. Therefore, there will be no war. (Maybe a skirmish or two which will be quickly downplayed rather than escalated.)

The USA is set for destruction. There's gonna be a nuclear attack against USA and Canada. Probably Toronto. I bet a huge payload. Store food and water. Most of us are dead. I wish I was kidding. The USA has a non-retaliation policy. It will be only one sided. We might be able to stop it but I don't think forever.
