While this is interesting, it would be really noteworthy if the bounty had been placed on the banksters or pols involved.

Let me know when Jamie Dimon or Lloyd Blankfein or Corzine or Kerry or other bad actors are placed under a bounty...

"Ten bucks? Doesn't sound like much."

Dear Gawd, I hope that was sarcasm rather than another display of American ignorance of most (all?) things not Uh-mer-i-cun.  (In this instance that of an alternative numerical syntax with regard to commas and periods).

If that was not sarcasm, then is it safe to presume that you did not serve abroad?

Safe to also presume that you're likewise unaware that in some locales yesterday's date was 4/5/2014 rather than 5/4/2014?

What's hilarious is that there are people who believe sanctions can be imposed on Russia, and high level leaders' monies, accounts, etc., can be effectively targeted.

Tell that to the guy who managed to piss off Putin, who happened to be killed via insertion of highly radioactive substance in many of his nooks & crannies while he was being heavily guarded IN LONDON.

Woe be the bankster who attempts to comply with some G7/US/EU sanctions against Putin or his inner circle.

Do not fuck with made Russians, especially of the political kind, whether your a lowly banister on the regulatory side or an oligarch billionaire from the gang of crooks. You won't live long - even Israelis tread cautiously when dealing with Vlad.

That point of view cuts both ways.  The Russian Ukrainians are not Putin's clan.  They are associated but expendable.  Putin will not act unless it is in his best interests.  What you are seeing in the Ukraine is the Russian Ukrainian crooks watching their power base being evaporated.  If Putin has a deal with the Powers That Be, these Russian Ukrainians do not have much chance.

I suspect the Russian Ukrainian oligarchs are playing Russian Roulette with Putin.  I think they feel they can embarass Putin into action to save their ill-gotten gains.

If you want to play with the bull, be prepared to get the horns.

The Russian Ukrainian oligarchs have no friends in the West, and need to pay heavily to buy friends in the East.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-05-04/dozens-cia-fbi-agents-advising-...

WW3 was triggered on 11.22.2013 (50 years after another fateful trigger event in Dallas), when Pres. Yanukovych rejected the EU and opted for a trade deal with Russia.  The official escalation to full thermo-kinetic and cyber warfare by Russia and NATO is still WIP, but getting there.

For now we have other forms of WW3 warfare:  PR/Propaganda War, Economic War, Currency War.  If you read the history of 1914, you will note that no one (except the Sponsors and Organizers) thought that there would be a WW.  Same situation today.

Good luck in convincing anyone in 'Merica that "Either WW3 or the Dollar collapse is coming".  Hell, you'd be ostracized and marginalized in a jiffy.  Right after you're escorted to the front door of your job and your box of personal effects are sent to you.

It is not necessaRily a joke, as the economy grinds to a stop and then starts contracting, there will be big oscillations created by the complexity of level of complexity of the system (in physics we would say it is a high order system), bringing to play the famous or infamous regression to the mean. Thus a negative print for Q1 is likely to be followed by a highly positive one, so 4 is not out of the question, especially when you realize that most of GDP is QE driven. The averages will go down to zero and the 2 to 3% negative, and that is compatible with a 4% reading next month. Pundits will try to construct from it thAt the recovery is finally starting.

"then starts contracting"

In real or nominal terms?

Things that don't need to be repeated: Financialization is only growth in the sense that cancer is growth. A service economy cannot sustain itself. A sub-2% GDP is stall-speed, purely inertial.

I'd say we've been stalled out since about the 70s - between the end of gold convertibility, the peak in per-capita energy consumption, the oil crisis, and the end of manned spaceflight at NASA (and none of those things are coincidences).

speaking of which, Kiev is sending them to Odessa,

"Pro-Russian rebels shot down a Ukrainian helicopter in fierce fighting near the eastern town of Slaviansk on Monday, and Kiev drafted police special forces to the southwestern port city of Odessa to halt a feared westward spread of rebellion.

Ukraine said the Odessa force, based on "civil activists", would replace local police who had failed to tackle rebel actions at the weekend. Its dispatch was a clear signal from Kiev that, while tackling rebellion in the east, it would vigorously resist any sign of a slide to a broader civil war."

the forces being sent in are from the west and are part of the new national guard and not regular Ukrainian military.

Russia had better move soon if it does not want a fully functioning, NATO supported neo- Nazi regime on it's front door...

They won't take RT off the air... What is the point?  RT is not much different from MSM.  In the age of the internet, information gets circulated.  Not all that information is accurate.  It's important to have access to all accounts of an action so you can make up your own mind about what is happening.

Global opinion is being formed.  Perceptions of that global opinion will result in actions taken by the parties involved in the Ukraine.

All in all, I think this is all very positive for the Ukraine, and the fight against corruption in general.

The current Russian Ukrainian uprising is funded/directed by the crooked Yanukovich faction with support of associated oligarchs.  They see themselves as the canaries in the coal mine.  Putin will not step into the battle until these people have lost.  Why take heat from global opinion for a bunch of crooks who aren't your crooks?

After the appropriate amount of bloodshed, and loss of Russian Ukrainian oligarchs, Putin will be dealing with a clean table.  The players left in circulation will be willing to cut better Pro-Putin deals to stave off what happened to those oligarchs who did not have Putin's protection.  This is a Machiavellian tactic to draw all oligarchs closer to Putin... this giving him more sway.

Underscoring many Ukraine reports is the specter of propaganda and lies running just ahead of the paid operatives.

First, the lies; then, the operatives hit the street; then, the violence followed by lies depicting who was involved and what it all means.

How sad that the 21st century has continued the war of words which lead to the slaughter of innocents.

Case in point: yesterday’s moving story through the Western media headlining “Odessa Jews prepare for emergency evacuation (Investment Watch).”

I notice that the Jews are not fleeing, they are “preparing” to flee… again.

At this point, the story is largely propaganda, leading to the western readers’ conclusion: Russia is so anti-Semitic that if pro-Russian forces take over Odessa, the Jews will be in great danger of another holocaust. The story recaps the history of Jews in the southern Ukraine area and specifies that if evacuation is needed the children will be removed first.

'When there is shooting in the streets, the first plan is to take [the children] out of the centre of the city,' Rabbi Kruskal told the newspaper (The Jerusalem Post).

'If it gets worse, then we’ll take them out of the city. We have plans to take them both out of the city and even to a different country if necessary, plans which we prefer not to talk about which we have in place.

This newest propaganda fits neatly into the American Empire’s story, supporting the IMF/NATO/EU campaign: Russian speakers and pro-Russian Ukrainians are the enemy of “democracy and freedom.” If they try anything, we’ll just have to send in the bombs. And if people get killed, well, this is war. If we have to put a $10,000 bounty on Graham W. Philips' head to blot out the truth, so be it.

Part of the problem in western media bias, of course, is the heavy influence of Jewish interests.

“Oliver Stone, the iconoclastic part-Jewish movie director, told The Sunday Times (of London) that ‘Jewish control of the media was preventing an open discussion of the holocaust,’ and that the U.S. Jewish lobby has been controlling Washington’s foreign policy for years. ‘[The Jewish lobby is] a major lobby in the United States,’ said Stone. ‘They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington.’” – The Nationalist Times, April 2014

I just found this site with an analysis (in Russian and English) of what happened in Odessa. The writer puts the death toll to 300, not to 40!

Protesters were in fact slaughtered inside the Union building, not just killed by the fire (which in fact hit just a small fraction of the building). Beware: very graphic!! There is even the photo of a pregnant woman strangled with an electric wire. I cannot tell if this is the truth, or some kind of Russian propaganda, but it is worth watching to have a broader view on what happened in Odessa.

They only talk to each other in the transfusion room. They feed the children very well prior to draining them. As a result, the rich blood is full of nutrients and Redshields don't have to actually eat, accept between transfusions. They don't talk much, even then, because they know that each of them is plotting the murder of each other while they plan the murder of ALL of you.

Anybody who doesn't know what Ukrainian fascists are capable of hasn't read any history.  And the Kissinger/Brzezinski/Wolfowitz cabal has, in fact, read their history.  They know exactly what they're stirring up and how it will go.  Doesn't matter to them how it ends.  Liver-eating cannibals, child-killers; there's no demon in human form too low to serve the purpose, since the purpose is merely to shed blood and spread fire to put resources in storage for us to claim later, and to sap the strength of rivals Russia, China and the EU.  The bit about herding people into peoples with slaughter, and then putting them to the torch seems to be a particularly authentic historic touch of local flavor.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States is deploying an economic weapon against Russia that could prove to be more costly than sanctions: the Internal Revenue Service.

As the U.S. attempts to punish Russia for its actions in Ukraine, the Treasury Department plans to start using a new tax law to make it more expensive for Russian banks to do business in the U.S. Congress passed the law in 2010 to curb tax evasion through the use of overseas accounts.

Starting July 1, the law targets foreign financial institutions that don't agree to share information about U.S. account holders with the IRS. Russia had been negotiating an information-sharing agreement with the U.S. But after Russia annexed Crimea and was seen as stoking separatist movements in eastern Ukraine, Treasury suspended negotiations.

The US is involved in the Ukraine for the following concerns:

- To keep the Gulf States in the fold they have to find a new or expanded market for what the Gulf sells. (Part of the petro-dollar agreement was that the US had to stop producing energy - and the US recently reneged.)

- To keep the Euros militarily subordinate to the US they have to show that the US can address Europe's military concerns - which includes energy security.

The US should just accept the end of the Petro Dollar, the Reserve Dollar, take the licks that are coming related to that event, and otherwise mind its own business.

HOWEVER, it is highly unfair to condemn the US and Europes immoral interventions to gain access to energy, while lauding Putin's imoral interventions to block access.  It is so unfair that it constitutes aggression - by overtly supporting one aggression over another.

The answer is to support no aggression.

It frustrates me that people think they have to choose the flavor of Evil that best suits them - as though they were choosing a sports team - rather than condemning the evil uniformly.
