Putin Pulls A Fast One: NATO Says No Russian Troop Withdrawal
Earlier today, before the high-beta, higher-trash selloff resumed, the main catalyst that pushed the market higher was the following headline:
- PUTIN: RUSSIA PULLED BACK TROOPS FROM UKRAINIAN BORDER
Turns out all Putin was doing was merely trying to give his buddies yet another higher price level from which to sell. To wit:
- NATO HAS NO INDICATION OF WITHDRAWAL OF RUSSIAN MILITARY FORCES FROM UKRAINE BORDER-NATO MILITARY OFFICIAL
- UKRAINE SAYS RUSSIAN MILITARY DRILLS CONTINUING ON BORDER
- UKRAINE BORDER SVC CAN'T SAY WHETHER RUSSIA ARMY IS WITHDRAWING
It is almost as if Putin was merely pulling the electronic legs of the high freaks with premeditated intent...

Wow Putin is just playing these clowns like a golden fiddle.
maskirovka
Thanks for the cultural lesson O_M
maskirovka
Or how you get a set greedy fucking Yid banker(s) who are literally losing there monied shirts by the second in order to make ever more stupid moves!...
The Persians may have invented the game of chess but it took the Russians to perfect the game!
I Putin was trying to raise some extra cash by gaming the markets, playing the western game to perfection.
@ Latina Lover,
Listen, I understand that at the highest Compartmentalized levels The Global Criminal Oligarch Cabal Bankster Intelligence Crime Syndicate are "all in on it."
This just proves undoubtably that all the worlds a stage. We are just pawns (Slaves) to the Global Elite.
Like the Criminal CIA motto. It's all "Fun & Games" for the sick, pure Evil Meglomaniacs.
"RA RA RAS- Putin....there was a cat that really was gone..."
And at the end of that great song, "Oh, those crazy Russians."
I'm actually loving this guys ploys. Next thing he'll ask Obama to pull his finger.
Remember who we're dealing with here and what the end goal is. Putin could actually withdraw his troops, and the West controlled MSM would still say he did not. They are framing this to blame Russia after all.
I was thinking the same thing. I think the biggest thing the whitehouse and Ukraine are afraid of is diplomacy actually working. They know Ukraine is going to fall apart by itself, and need a conflict to shift the blame to Russia.
"Well there goes our war...shit this warmongering stuff ain't as easy as it used to be. Hey China what are you doing later? wanna have a war?"
"It is almost as if Putin was merely pulling the electronic legs of the high freaks with premeditated intent..."
Wait! Is this true/verifiable??
Because the possibility of a new asymmetrical tactic, using our own rigged markets against "us", is....pretty funny
If he can fight the battle without actually causing a chain reaction in any U238 I'm happy with that. Let the east vs. west NWO power struggle continue and may they consume each other.
It is a beautiful thing. He will fly right over our "Maginot Line" and use our total reliance on computers to kick us in the nuts.
"It is almost as if Putin was merely pulling the electronic legs of the high freaks with premeditated intent..."
Didn't bernanke do the same thing to the bond market yesterday when he said 100% no hyperinflation?
yes, yet I have a bit of a problem with this constant assumption that for the Cremlin the financial markets have anything nearly the same importance as for Washington. hell, even western european governments haven't this obsession with their own financial markets, not in this degree
anyway, maskirovka has also a diplomatic component. Russia is a member of the OSCE, and wants to keep it's membership there. So after a meeting with the OSCE, it makes sense that Putin shows a OSCE-requested gesture of goodwill, in the same way as Russia did intervene to free those OSCE prisoners
those diplo-moves might frustrate many, yet they do open the way to de-escalation
Politics is merely war by other means (and vice-versa).
Politics is just a soap opera for ugly people.
(And I seriously just got a Jim Cramer pop-up ad. Well played, Vladimir. If only I'd fall for that shit, I'd be in real trouble.)
"..to free those OSCE prisoners" - they where not(!) OSCE "observers" or anything they had no mandate, they where simply spies nothing else.
the OSCE claimed them as their observers. you have to understand that the OSCE has a certain value for all european countries
they claimed so after they denied that they were their observers. I'm certainly not certain, but I think there's a very good chance they were NATO milintel, and there may well be an answer out there on the interwebs one way or another... but I wouldn't summon what the OSCE eventually claimed as "proof" anymore than you should cite the notion that bin Laden, reportedly, admitted being responsible for 9/11 some months after bin Laden, reportedly, strenuously denied involvement.
FYI. This guy is pro-Russian. According to him they weren't NATO spies, but not operating under an OSCE mandate either.
.
THE OSCE SPECIAL MONITORS IN EASTERN UKRAINE AREN’T NATO SPIES ...
"The credentials of the soldiers to be where they were, out of uniform, doing what they were doing, were not issued by the OSCE, nor did they report to OSCE. They were a military inspection team invited by the government in Kiev, according to a European military inspection protocol known as the Vienna Document of 2011..."
"A week later, the ostensible purpose of the detained Vienna Document men in Slavyansk was to look for evidence of cross-border Russian involvement of the kind alleged by the governments in Kiev and Washington. That foreign field officers without Russian fluency, accompanied by interpreters speaking in Kiev or western accents, could accomplish this after dark in Slavyansk was improbable to the group which detained them. So they called them NATO spies. US and UK newspapers claimed they were operating under the OSCE mandate. None of these claims was correct..."
of course, you can't prove a negative, but none of this excludes the very real possibility these guys are, in fact, NATO military intelligence posing as OSCE observers.

Most interesting, in a way, is bringing up Turkey's, a NATO member, ongoingoccupation of Cyprus - illegal and all that - to "protect" Turks... of course there's also the ongoing ethnic cleansing and occupation of Palestine by quasi-member Israel... not that "hypocrisy" has quite the moral sting it used to...
AK ok...more to the point, Putin playing them like a golden fiddler on the roof!
oy vey.
"who believes NATO, Ukranian Gov. Spokespersons, UN Observers, OSCE Observers, State Dept. Spokespersons, White House?"
"BBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
maskirovka...
Pretty good wikipedia link. I especially like the final CIA flourish at the end asking for their own version of a Snowden to come forth.

I can definitively say, me life changed when I 'got' how much disinformation was out there. A light bulb moment, if you will.

Recently it has come to the attention of the Librarian that Wikipedia, a resource that has been cited repeatedly by the Librarian, is not only of questionable reliability, particularly with respect to its biographical reports of current figures, but also that it appears to be completely untrue to its stated mission of compiling knowledge in a true "open-source" environment. But can he win this hand next time... ? Is this a fade away punch? This guy (Gazprom) is good.
Hell yes! He tells them what their greedy fucking ears want to hear!
How dare he? Keeping troops at the border of his country?
This provocative behavior must be answered by sending more US ships halfway around the world to police other countries' borders.
Who would think that a leader would protect the borders of his own country?
In the west that would be economic suicide.
pods
More like political suicide.
Unguarded borders — how you can tell the War on Terror is largely fictional.
Remember the 90's? Fedgov went nuts passing legislation to safeguard all the loose nukes after the fall of the USSR. Thing is, they never bothered to fund the program. I remember watching desperate pleas in the House by junior members (ala useful idiots) about how could we not get this funded. It was the biggest CSPAN drama of the day.
That's when I realized the entire Cold War was fictional as well.
Fictional as in bomb as many people as possible in order to create more terrorists that need more monitoring, weapons.....
That's the probem. Putin recognizes borders and that's a big no no to the NWO.
@ Dr. engali,
Borders = No control for the NWO AKA The Global Criminal Oligarch Cabal Bankster Intelligence Crime Syndicate.
No Borders = Total Global Slave control by the NWO.
Look at all the 'national parks' set up in border regions in Africa... Its just a way to keep those nations from actually securing their borders. Thats where insurgents are trained, every goddamn time.
Beware of Russians marching Backwards!
Whether they really are or not, it's usually a trap.
The market believes Putin; Russia stocks getting bid this morning.
So who is to be believed here?
No one.
Trusting a politician's word is like hiring a pedophile to watch the kids:
-It is foolish on the face of it.
-Someone is going to get screwed.
-A lot of people will end up unhappy, and you are CERTAIN to be among them.
As always, my vote is NOTA.
It doesn't matter. Cossacks have entered the fight as a proxy anyway. There are certainly other pro-Russian forces present as well. The people there are pro-Russian too, so what would we expect?
Putin knows how things work...
Vlad, you wild man! When you told me about you and your friend, and your friend making it with a cow.....I want to party with you, dude.
you need to at least get the quote right...
Lee Harvey (vlad)...YOU...are a MADMAN! when you stole that cow, and your friend tried to make it with the cow...I want to party with you cowboy.
WTF? Doesn't he know that old Yeller is talking, and that the markets turned green from the sound of her grandmotherly voice? If gold reverses after she did such a good job of smashing it, then he is going to get a nasty talking to.
After things fully collapse, Janet will go on PR stunts handing out Werther's Originals to the little homeless kids on the street.
pods
With Janet's background, I am more inclined to believe she will be setting them on fire.
I'm hopefully inclined she will be on fire.
Be careful of what you wish for!
Look over there...where
His press conference never said he was withdrawing from the border. It said there was concern the troops were across the border in Ukraine and he said he made sure none were on Ukraine territory and moved the troops to normal drilling ranges near the border.
That's some smart talk, there's a decree by Russian parliament that authorises Putin to use force in Ukraine if necessary even though that technically didn't happen. So he can use it at any time, but he doesn't. He can go full Hell March on them, but he refuses. Shining example of freedom would've already invaded the country twice for less and spreaded freedom with a taste of depleted uranium. The guy must be crazy, let's slap him with sanctions, let's deny those crazy Russkies new iPhones and online porn. Muahaha.
In a word... "KEWL"!
People are so gullible.
Here's a clue:
Whatever a government official tells you about its military movements will ALWAYS be a lie. There is every reason for them to lie, and not a single one to tell the truth.
Not just in relation to the Ukraine crisis - but all military movements.
Suprise is tactically valuable, and accurate announcements ruin that.
So, out of the Universe of possible actions a military can take, the one they announce can be safely eliminated from the list of possibilities.
Nah, satellite recon takes that maneuver off the table.
What they say doesn't matter, but there's no point in lying about it.
Of more interest is postponing the referendum on independence. I think he wants the Kiev people to come talk to the separatists. If they won't do that, his position is stronger.
You don't know much about all the ways to spoof imagery, do you?
Styrofoam tanks with heaters where the engine would be, etc?
Deceiving reconnaissance is big business.
Nevertheless, we already know NATO says they have no evidence the Russian Army has moved from the border.
But forget the official sources. They all lie anyway.
Russian cars have webcams. You can look at them. Are there giant convoys on the road away from the Ukraine???
Nope.
Decoys, diversions, dummies...
Yep.
What is the benefit to anyone in believing Putin's announcement? Where is the verification?
I am not saying anyting about Putin personnally.
I am saying that there is no reason to trust him in the absence of evidence.
Though, I could argue that simply being a world leader is evidence that he would lie. THAT is part of the job description, you know?
correction: THE world leader
Whatever.
I like girls not Putins.
like girls not Putins.
:) A normal man!
But, but.... the object of my mancrush promised......
Well now, have NATO and the Ukrainian Pretenders ever said anything that wasn't borne out by fact?
Don't get me wrong; I have no illusions about Putin.
The announcement was Putin's.
Regardless, why don't some of the Russian dash cams in Kamensky and Belgorod post videos of the massive convoys leaving?
FWIW.... Turning that many troops around doesn't happen in an hour, or even a day. You'd see lots of movment to be prepared to go East that you wouldn't see to go West.
The reason is simple.
When you drive tanks on the road it damages the road and the tank. If the Russian Army goes west they go tactical in tracks.
But if they were to go east , they'd have to be loaded on railways, and large trucks or they would damage both roads and tanks. That makes a big signature.
Thus - no signature means no movement East.
Betcha Jordan wishes they had some military hardware on their border with Syria (keeps out the refugees, dontcha know?)
This war game is not fair.....
Putin: White rook to kings bishop 4.
ZATO: Red checker to black 6
Zero: Jenga!
Nah, Jenga requires skill. More like "Go Fish!"
Obama is more of a '52 Pickup' kinda guy.
Naked pickup. After a fresh waxing.
It must be awesome being the king of Russia. He'll buy shares of Apple, say "I could probably launch nuclear missiles from my iphone" then sell into the rally.
OMG, he lied!
what a shock
Princess Putin helps set the tone of opportunistic lying and deceipt so very expected from dealings with Russians and Russia today.
Is that a good thing, dear Comrades?
I think that Catherine the Great would find it disgraceful. How 'bout you? How low have YOU fallen?
How low? Not quite low enough to exonerate your filthy paymasters, that's for sure.
novictim
I guess you are paid by Kremlin troll here to play the anti-russian Idiot.
You are good!
@novictim, your name and your ridiculous posts suggest that you are holding some old ethnic grievances against Putin. Would you like to share them with the class? Not that we care, but you just might want to know that your blind hatred is showing.
No "ethnic" grievances exist on my part. I am just an astute observer of the human condition and I see what is becoming a widely accepted "trade mark" for Russian dealings: Deception, Corruption, Double dealing, Theft, and then more lies.
You might want to check out the Russian Lawyer, Sergei Leonidovich Magnitsky and his direct involvement in exposing Russian corrupt practices and the horrible price he paid and the cover up carried out by Putin.

NATO is playing their future against possible dissolution. That is 80% of the entire Ukraine game.
I'm assuming that once WWIII gets officially rolling, these abstractions will all be open to reinterpretaion.
Novus... something... something...
Yes.
But keep in mind that the European members have an alternative that is more attractive than a distant American protector - an EU Army.
NATO should have been dissolved 20 years ago.
the future looks like paradigm shift in NATO-EU cooperation, and Ukraine offers a potential test:
Ukraine may be just the rallying point for tighter EU integration.
Is it coincidence that EU parliamentary elections are only a couple weeks away?
Knock knock..
Who's there?
Who
Russian troops will remain on the Russian side of the border - however, the border will just move further west after Eastern Ukraine votes this weekend to re-join Russia.
LMFAO!!! Why would you believe NATO?
It has been demonstrated beyong a shadow of a doubt that the warmongers reside in West, at least for this cycle.
I'm not advocating taking Putin at his word either, but we have beau coup (coup ... get it?) evidence that the PTB in the West are pathological liars across the board. You can't name a guy in this thing whose word you can trust.
Whether the announcement was true or not it gave them a nice entry and exit point for market orders.
I am going to give you information that will rock your world.
BRACE YOURSELF.
...
POLITICIANS LIE.
...
Now... why didn't you already know that?
Putin needs to tell ZATO and the DC US that the Ukraine has "yellow-cake" and WMDs and so Russia needs to invade to "preempt" any future action by the Ukraine.
I would pay to see that shit show.
"While they were 'looking' for WMDs in Iraq, I was building a guillotine."
Responsibility to protect! Remember?
Actually, there's a ballistic missile factory in Eastern Ukraine, and that's one of many reasons the Russians are going to protect their interests.
When you are a mover and shaker you do not need to find alpha to get rich. You create it for yourself.
Turns out all Putin was doing was merely trying to give his buddies yet another higher price level from which to sell.
Putin is sitting on a population losing 500,000 drunken people a year a recession and surrounded by insecure borders. He is even worse than the 1%ers everywhere else as his oligarch buddies and himself are going crash the country to try and keep control as foreign invesmtment will dry up. What company wants to deal with this moron. He already controlled the Crimea area anyway and acquiring the Ukraine does nothing to help him. As weak needed as NATO is they would still keep the other partners safe. Its too bad that Obama is such a wimp he could make life misearble for Putin in Syria and the bordering "Stans". Putin is such an idiot that he actually beleives that long term China will be his friend. One day he will wake up and realize that they will eat him for breakfest without better relations with the West. The oil and gas card will paly out when the "real" alternatve energy sources are made public by the CIA and other intelligence agencies.
Countries have no friends, just interests.
realpolitik 101
better worry about something else...
cos on this subject your ignorant
Where did you buy that amazing shit you are smoking I want some.....
? ? ? Gandjubas? :)
so, referendum this weekend and Lugansk has it's own independent army
Pullback or no pullback, there is no de-escalation.
.
Kiev says activists in eastern Ukraine to be 'liquidated or captured'
'The interim Ukrainian president's chief aide on Wednesday promised that all anti-Maidan activists in eastern cities of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk would be "liquidated or captured." Early on Wednesday, four pro-federalization activists "were liquidated" in the city council building in Mariupol, and 16 people were detained, he said...'
Euphemism, or do they actually plan on turning activists to liquid?
Fremen Death Stills....
Looks like another fast one from NATO/State Department. "No indication of withdrawal" is in no way equivalent to "no actual withdrawal". Do those guys ever say anything that's not an evasion or an outright lie?
To drive forward they would simply start rolling. = very little signature.
To pull back (without destroying the roads and damaging the tanks) they would have to load the tracked vehicles on trains and trucks = VERY BIG SIGNATURE.
They are saying they do not see that signature.
Whether or not to believe them is a different question.
But I would say this,
-You can NEVER BELIEVE what the military says about its own tactical movements.
BUT
- You can often believe what the opposition says about military movements.
The incentives that lead to this conclusion are these: Honesty is bad when discussing your own troops (because it eliminates surprise), and honesty is good when discussing your opponent (because it builds your credibility - and you don't have to reveal everything you know).
Bad translation - he was already refering to the new Ukrainian border after the May 11 referendum...
now it makes sense
TEN COMMON LINES THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER BELIEVE:
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."
"The check is in the mail."
"I m fixed. We don't need a condom."
"Our troops have pulled back from your border."
"i am disarming you for your own safety."
"It is just a procedural question. We do not suspect you of any crime."
"The system will protect the innocent."
"I won't cum in your mouth."
"Give me your money. I will keep it safe."
"You can trust the authorities to do what is right (for you)."
Certainly there are indications of NATO military buildup all along Russia's western and southwestern borders.
Offensive action claimed as defensive action is just about the only play in the US/NATO/Israeli playbook.
It's too bad there aren't very many real journalists left in the MSM able or willing to at least, if not wash Putin's balls, do more than regurgitate State Dept/neocon talking points...
Putin is manipulating the markets! Turn the SEC loose on the bastard! The nerve of the man - the unmitigated gall. He should do jail time.
One good lie deserves another.
According to the American MSM, anyone who protects his own borders is a ... Nazi! Hitler! Idiots.
.....and who was it again that ring fenced Russia with missiles?
All you have to understand is that Russia knows that the US is trying to pull them into a war..and if they stay out of a war then the US will destroy itself..because it is sinking in its own self destructive money printing, criminal exploitation of other countries including Ukraine. Ukrainians want to join Russia because they have already gotten a belly full of those US behaviors (pilfereing their gold etc) and the longer the US is running a puppet government made up redominantly of Nazis in UKraine the louder the cry of the Ukrainians to join Russia will be. Putin knows this so he is avoiding being painted as the villian and allowing the US its rightful place as the true villain.
Yep, Putin knows he is being baited. I just hope he keeps it together should others decide to up the ante...Atrocities can go very large-scale when folks decide to out-do each other and test their opponent's limits.
All you have to understand is that Russia knows that the US is trying to pull them into a war..and if they stay out of a war then the US will destroy itself..
!!!
More cheesey propaganda bullshit. Lap it up.
Meanwhile, they're tunnelling under government buildings in Syria and blowing them, and their entire block, sky high. USA is the big dumb lunkhead buddy of the little little rat-like instigator. "Duh, did we do good Spike? Duh, we told those Saudi to send more Qida, duh, was that good, Spike. Duh, who do you want me to punch now Spike 'cuz I wanna make you happy and your always mad at me."
Why the hell would anyone expect Putin to pull away from the border?
You've got all this shit happening right in his backyard, of COURSE he's going to have troops there! What brain-dead theory of geo-politics are these people following anyway? What's he supposed to DO? Ignore it?
And since it seems that plenty of OTHERS have chosen to establish THEIR presence there, no one is speaking from a place to demand that Russia not interfere!!! Of all the different groups lifting their legs on Ukraine, Russia is one of the only 2 that HAS any right to be there!
The US has spent many years fucking with Russia, thanks to the old Cold War dinosaurs running our show, and theirs. The fall of the USSR was a GIFT that we squandered. Had we gone in there with a GENUINE offer of friendship and cooperation, and TRUTHFUL assurances that we'd never, ever try to take advantage of their little 'problem', we'd all be living in a VERY different world today!
Instead, capitalist businessmen paired up with their Russian counterparts and robbed the country blind, and turned the place into a Disney World for organized crime. Politicians kept up the old 'commie-threat' shit long after it had any relevance. NATO decided to play the incredibly annoying child's game where you wave your hands closer and closer to your friend's face, chanting, "I'm not touching you...I'm not touching you...I'm not touching you..."
Really, did the expansion of NATO into former Soviet countries do ANYTHING to improve everyone's security? Did it provide ANY strategic value at ALL? Was there ever any reason to believe those countries were in imminent danger of being re-taken by the Russians? Or was it just a juvenile taunting of a former enemy on the ropes, a gratuitous kick in the nads after you've already won? A way of getting all up in their faces to gloat?
Then we decide to stick ballistic missiles in Poland...why? Didn't something like that happen to us back in the 60's? And weren't we like, really, really pissed off about it? Is there some reason we thought the Russians wouldn't feel the exact same way? Seriously, whatever Putin's other issues, he and his people have every RIGHT to be concerned with what's going on in Ukraine. And placing your troops on the border in a situation like that is a no-brainer. If this shit was happening in Mexico, you know damned WELL our military would be there, on alert. And how would WE feel if Russians and Chinese started getting involved?
This whole thing is such bullshit.
At your next Boy Scout troop campfire weenie roast, remember to bring an open bucket of gasoline.
'cause "of COURSE" you should have an open bucket of gasoline next to a weenie roast.
You need only read the story of Sergei Leonidovich Magnitsky to be compelled to turn your back on Russian Neofascism and Putin.
Sergei Leonidovich Magnitsky...his ghost hovers over all of your lies protecting the Russian status quo.
There are plenty of valid complaints on BOTH sides on a WIDE variety of issues. None of them are relevant to THIS situation. And they are nothing but distractions, 'shiny objects' being waved.
It is not our business. It is between Russia and Ukraine. We SHOULD be telling everyone else to back the fuck off and let them work it out. And we SHOULD be condemning the IMF for waving their fucking MONEY around when the tensions are so high!! Why are these fuckers allowed to market their loans in a war zone?
<= NATO is lying
<= Putin is lying
