Homebuilder Confidence Plunges To 12-Month Lows

Tyler Durden's picture

For the 5th month in a row, homebuilder hope has missed expectations. At 45 (vs 49 expectations), this is the lowest the NAHB survey has been at since May 2013, catching down to the reality of home sales and mortgage applications. On the bright side, realtors can't help but feel thr turn is coming sometime soon - the "future" hope index rose to its highest since January as the "current" reality index drops to 12 month lows.

Oops...

Who could have seen that coming? As Hope collapses to home sales reality...

As the West continues to tumble...

Please, there is no "market".  Hasn't been for quite a while, so CONfidence is meaningless.

Get long sharecropping, black markets and a dependable tribe, beat the rush.

Confidence will be restored with the recent rally in rates. Mortgage rates will come down making housing more affordable and home builders will be covering the landscape with McMansions for the childless boomers in no time. Life is good here in fairy land and I believe I just witnessed a unicorn shit out a skittle.

Then all those McMansions can be refied yearly as their value jumps 20% creating a boom in purchases of boats, luxury cars, ATVs, RV's and anything and everything from Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom's.

Never fear, oil is only $101.60 today so there should be plenty of discretionary income to pick up the slack. /s

Fuck the NHBA and the NAR, I'm not buying shit until the fraud stops and those responsible are prosecuted.  Starting with Fraud street, the Fed, and complicit government.  Let the eCONomy die on the vine until the currency debasement and price manipulation stops.

An outfit here just walked away from 300 lots because it's not happening as anticipated or as dreamed by real estate greedy bastards that have to go back to washing dishes if they're qualified after trying to blame everyone else for the distruction of the county and trying to get code inforcements to make everyone fixup their property. I guess they haven't a clue with their money grubbing blinders on thier superior faces.. ha!

I hope the Tylers cover the Agriculture Department's request to purchase submachine guns that's linked on Drudge this morning.  Complete with night scopes and mountable flashlights.  This is not the agency that would be going after illegal pot farms or anything directly related to typical crime.  Family farms the target?  The Amish?  Exactly WHO is the target?

Why in hell would anyone go building new houses now? Everywhere I look, there are homes for sale. Obviously the market can't absorb all the homes already in existence...

I'd think it would be smarter to go into home improvements, as a lot of folks are 'stuck' where they are, and might be in the mood to improve their current residences.
