My dad would have said, "Go ahead, learn the hard way."  And I would say, "Why is that worth killing for?"  But at least if you make it back home you'll have a government run VA hospital that I'm sure is going to give you great care.  I also doubt if you'll get a thank you letter from cocksucker banksters and rat politicians who you did the killing for.  Now if somebody is attacking Phoenix, Arizona, sign me up.  And I'm 58 years old so they wouldn't take an old crotchety fart like me anywho.  But if you're signing up to kill people half way around the world then fuck you I hope you get one between the eyes.

not only that Dexter. As a non-American to me it seems like all these wars are being waged for private corporate interests. It never used to be this way. It used to be for the sake of the security of the nation, not for the private aspirations of a handful of executives.

It is a crime and its disgusting

I think you may be somewhat romanticising past reasons 'we' went to war.

WWI was for 'the security of the nation'? Invading the Philippines was for the sake of 'the security of the nation'? Viet Nam? Guatamala? Honduras? etc, etc?

The only time you can claim 'we' went to war for 'the security of the nation' is when we've been invaded. Remind me... how many times was that?

We were invaded at the turn of the century by JP Morgan, Bernard Baruch, Warburg and other zionists. They promptly created a fractional reserve banking debt accumulator and with the help of others, started two world wars, bankrupted and took control of the nation and with the help of their media propaganda machine have people worshipping Brad Pitts and Angelina Jolies, Oprah Winfrys, Warren Buffets and Politicians- good god, could it get any worse.

The zionist/illuminati matrix completely subsumed our productive society and placed us in chains.

However, we seem to be reluctant to fight the most important of wars against our most intractable foes. We can hardly turn off the TV or stop eating frankenfood or poison sodas. But we will answer the clarion call of partiotism, to march against the foes of our corporations for a few fake dollars and a promise of something we could get from reading books or learning trades.

Yes, mister scarecrows, all you really need to be smart is a diploma! It is what all the brillant people have. Wake me when they put a fork in America, oh wait, the Chinese are crowing about being the next reserve currency! They must have accumulated too much wealth and now it will be their turn as the debt creator and wealth transfer station. I guess the US is done.

Hey Dexter, you make the little joke, yes? "But at least if you make it back home you'll have a government run VA hosopital that I'm sure is going to give you great care."

Or perhaps you are not a vet?

I am, and I am fortunate enough that I will never, ever have to go to a VA hospital. I have heard so many horror stories of ineptitude squared at those fucking places, except for the one near Washington DC where the big wheels are treated.

And the attack on Phoenix, AZ is already happening, if you are concerned about your freedom - don't look now, but the first, second, and fourth amendment to the Constitution are already gone.

reply: Well, son, yes, I hear it's hard to get a date if you're uneducated and unemployed... though I suspect it's even harder to get one if you've got PTSD and are wandering the streets, homeless, like many of our veterans. On the other hand... some of the modern prosthetics are kinda cool.... I can hear you can pick up an egg now with some of the better replacement hands. And perhaps not even STEM. I know several undergrad engineers who were told they won't be considered for entry level positions unless they get a masters. STEM is probably a better choice than liberal arts for sure, but still subject to the supply and demand of labor.

Evil is propagated because you/we allow it. A society can be measured by the way the govt. treats its Vets. The sentiment is spot on. The problem is, it promotes the Bankster MEME that war is a normal state of existence.

Wake up; we are coercing young people to sacrifice their lives for a war on a con-cept: terror. How does one wage a war on a concept? Further the bad guys are said to be a CIA derived enemy that they have now used in Libya and Syria to destabilize these countries. If the puppeteers now fund the supposed enemy when did it all begin and who exactly is the terrorist?

Kissinger said it. Kerry reinforced it.

The military is for those middle Americans who have no direction and no discipline in their lives

As long as we have fatherless, bastard kids born out of wedlock listening to Eminem and getting obese with crap food, we will always have disposable men & women in the military.

And don't think for one moment O nor the elite care about our vets. They don't. And never will.

The war drum has been getting mundane lately, so cue up another "terrorist attack" that we can rally behind that will also take away any liberties we have left:

Notice it is Uncle frigging Sam. Dearly.  But I hope the vengeance does not rain on the workers and ordinary people.  But of course that is where it will rain like a deluge until they storm their own Bastille and start making the rule of law apply to all.

The point that this cartoon misses is that there was abuse long before veterans.  No intent but propoganda to send the innocents to war ( but not my son;  never my sons of anyone in Congress/Senate/banks/corporations.....)  Never the sons and daughters of the "string-pullers,  manipulators"  Not my kid.

As a veteran, I feel I can speak honestly about this.   For every true wounded warrior there are 10 'disabled' vets that are mooching off the system.  Just more pigs at the trough. This cartoon calls out congress for its profligacy, but there is a cultural rot that enables this country's slow implosion.  No one talks about it.

Not sure if it is 10-1 but most people know at least one 'disabled vet' that can build an addition onto their house, construct a very nice deck, grow a well tended garden, go hunting and fishing - but cannot 'work'.

As a combat veteran (the Bell helicopter war), and a psychologist at a VA hospital, i can tell you first hand that you're right. Everyone feeds at the government teat (myself included, although my excuse is that I provide an essential service to my fellow veterans). When my wife, a realtor trying to get a listing, asked me to call the husband, I did it. He told me how to apply for a 'service connection' and brought me to a DAV office right inside of a local VA hospital, where, for the fee to join, I was told they'd help me complete an application for service connection. All I had to do was 'act depressed' for the psychiatrist, complain about PTSD, and I'd get a service connection. Then I could keep appealing to increase the amount I'd get every month.

America has become, not the land of the free, but the land of the racketeers. It's happening at every level of society. It's very sad.

They're afraid of veterans, because lots of veterans can see through the bullshit being spewed 24/7 by TPTB and the media.  I'm a member of oathkeepers, and rethink 911.  I'm familiar with weapons, and i've seen death and destruction close up.

I've gotta say, my generation - the baby boomers- are the most selfish, least civic minded generation ever.  When I bring up issues like the loss of constitutional rights, the collapse of building seven, the ridiculousness of the official conspiracy theory, they'll just deny it, or, worse, say that if it's true they don't want to know.  Their sniveling cowardice makes me sick.  They're going to get just what they deserve...

thank you for putting that out there. whenever someone not from that generation does so, we get vilified (or get the cowardly red arrow without the courtesy of a response).

not to play the blame game, but until more like yourself start speaking out about this sooner than later (although it's probably too late by now), shit will continue swirling down the drain.

i hate to say this, but i have a feeling that many of the boomer generation are secretly delaying the inevitable so that they all die off before it happens and leave the consequences to the rest of us.

denial is always worst when it stems from a deeply hidden guilt.

Except it's bullshit. We're where we are today because every fucking generation - except maybe the 10% in the revolutionary period who faught the British - has rolled over and sucked government dick. Look at them all! Slavery! Genocide! Enlisting to kill people from States that  wanted to secede! Allowing Wilson to establish the IRS and the Fed and conscription for WWI (in my opinion, Wilson was probably the worth president ever... followed by that fascist cunt FDR). The generation that 'allowed' FDR to take their gold, then establish price controls and the welfare state. The baby boomers are certainly no worse than the idiots who merrily sailed off to Europe to fight The Keiser 'for their country'.

+1 for the BigPicture BigJim.
agreed that the notion of "civics" was fucked up in the first place, which is probably why the boomers rebelled against it. nonetheless, someone has to come to terms with the sad fact that rebellion in and of itself does not prove to be a constructive response, but only aids in further destruction.
question is: who's left to clean up the fuckin mess? not James Dean, that's for damn sure. or Jim Morrisson for that matter.

I've had this argument with my uncle.  He fessed up and came clean, "I've known it's been messed up for a while, I just thought I wouldn't live to see it."

This is also the same Bush lover who rails against the deficits, yet supported the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, rails against people who game the system, (moochers I believe he calls them) yet supports keeping his SS and Medicare just as they are, "cause I earned them".

When I asked, "Well, Uncle, the US budget is mainly made of three things, "Defense", SS, and Medicare. So what should we cut."

His answer was basically 'We are the worlds superpower and it must stay that way, and I don't care if the economy is in shambles, I was promised x and I will get x regardless.  I earned it. No changes to SS, Defense or Medicare'

They come pretty close to acknowledging they been lied to and cheated their whole lives, but they feel the best solution is to steal from their kids instead of admitting how horribly wrong they've been their whole lives.

Been thinking on that.  I think the amnesty is, yes, to be able to refill the ranks en masse.  I don't think they deployed overseas.  I think TPTB need people who are not loyal to the citizens of this country to be trigger pullers.  The idea of an UN mission or military invasion are farcical.  The invasion has already happened.  They are here already.  They come from cultures where shooting the civilians is just something you have to do some days.  They are the perfect domestic force to take on the Patriots.

As long as our satraps in OPEC demand USD, they can afford to wage war. The petrodollar essentially means the entire world picks up the tab for the US military.

The only veterans who get damaged in any number are the ground troops. I doubt TPTB will be doing any 'nation building' for a long time - it'll be chiefly drones from now on, blasting 'enemies' back into the stone age from 30,000 feet.

What happened to accountability?  Those in positions of power who refused care to veterans have no honour.  If they intentionally delayed care and even one veteran died they should be tried for manslaughter.  They should be financially liable to the families of those who suffered.

Honour? We're talking about a State that kills its own soldiers (As those of the Gulf War, as those of the USS Ronald Reagan, as all those who the Army has been experimenting with along time...)

The United States military not only causes death and destruction in foreign countries, it “literally kills its own combatant men and women” through its inefficient health care policies, says Stephen Lendman, American writer, radio host and columnist at Veterans Today.

Harshly criticizing U.S. military policies, Lendman said Wednesday in an interview that the military’s “mission is to kill and destroy and it kills and destroys its own [troops].”

He added that the military recruits Americans “with false promises that in most cases are never delivered. Promises about free education and free health care and all kinds of other things and few veterans ever get any or much of any of these benefits when they come out, if they do come out.”

Every day about 22 veterans in the United States kill themselves, a rate that is about 20 percent higher than the Department of Veterans Affairs’ 2007 estimate, according to a two-year study by a VA researcher.

The VA study indicates that more than two-thirds of the veterans who commit suicide are 50 or older, suggesting that the increase in veterans’ suicides is not primarily driven by those returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lendman said the shocking suicide rate among veterans is seldom talked about. “They kill themselves on a daily basis.”

In fairness, the Federal Government's health care policies have been killing the civilian population since the 1960s.

So at least it's consistent.

What we really need is to put 110% into care for all disabled or wounded vets. They deserve that. What we can no longer afford is to provide (nearly free) healthcare for non-disabled vets, Native Americans, elderly, poor, illegal immigrants, etc, etc. Along with all the other government entitlement payments, the recipients will be the ones that get hurt the most when the currency and economic crash come.

War?  I suspect that we'll all be seeing some, and it'll get ugly.

WEED, N.M. – A cold spring in a quiet meadow runs at the heart of a hot dispute between ranchers and the federal government – and it may be reaching a flash point.

The U.S. Forest Service recently finished fencing a spring-fed creek called Agua Chiquita to lock out cattle from a sensitive habitat recovery area in the Lincoln National Forest. That prompted a fresh outcry from ranchers who say the project infringes on their water rights.

The dispute over access to the shallow creek – whose name means “little water” in Spanish – has deep roots in local animosity toward federal land control, not unlike the conflict that recently prompted armed Nevada ranchers to challenge the federal government’s authority over land in that state.

An attempt Friday by the U.S. attorney in Albuquerque to mediate an agreement between county officials who support the ranchers and Forest Service managers failed to reach a resolution and leaves tensions simmering.

“We won’t be able to resolve right away who owns the water or if the federal government is following the law, but in the meantime, we don’t want the citizens of Otero County to take this into their own hands,” said Otero County attorney Blair Dunn, who called the meeting “disappointing.”

The sheriff will pursue a criminal investigation targeting the Forest Service for “destruction of property” and water rights violations, while the county has called on Congress to get involved, Dunn said. U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce, R-N.M., said Friday he would ask for field hearings and said he believed “the government is overstepping its bounds one more time.”

It feels like we are pushing society off of a cliff of social justice while in reality, those who promote such causes will see to it that no justice is served at all. Without accountability there is no justice, real or relative. But I suppose we can continue to hope.....Obama made this one his big campaign promises, pledging to put people in place who would fix this shit. Why is it that I find it hard to believe that his administration would want transparency given the opacity of virtually everything else he has done...or not done. And we know how much he loves the military. By the time he is done many here will obviously be pleased as we will be lucky to still have a military, other than of course the new domestic military. You know, the one to protect us from those home grown threats.

A question for cartoon lovers:

A few years ago I saw a cartoon about the Fed and gold: showing Germany and other nations their gold. One after the other visitor, who checked if his gold was there, was brought into the room with the gold bars and the FED's personell was changing the plate with the country's name according who was about to enter the safe.

I believe I saw it on some PM-friendly blog. Does anyone know this cartoon?

.

Borrowing money from the people whose ass you're aiming or posturing to kick is just not sustainable. When the nation is broke, defaulted, isolated, war, at least internationally, reverts to a cash-only prospect.

So the isolated nation, its "leaders" thereof, will turn inward on itself, its citizenry. Figure a state-fielded army underwritten per head at a denarius a day.

But unlike such attempted bullshit at other times in history, there will be five million angry able-bodied men, fathers and sons, mercenaries of their own underwriting, with rifles, eagle eyes and a thousand rounds a weapon, lurking in distant shadows like old-time woods robbers in wait for the state hirelings, each muttering no one fucks with his wife and kids, his mom and brothers and sisters.

They will stand as the last stand. They represent a last hope of a nation or a world. Five million active "Continentals" (if you will) -- men, if defined as men only by their commitment -- would be enough to stir up the downtrodden and timid to a cause and an aim actually worth sacrificing for: the defense of their home and people; the repossession of their stolen inheritance.

To the Thief, I tell you now: Someday you will nod, and I will kill you, or my son will kill you, or his son... in remembrance, emulation and vindication of the Five Million still to come, the Five Million among us.
