Most expensive would be the Eccles building
Yes, but that is an ongoing cost. But are you sure that it is more expensive than the White House or the Capitol Building? They're all insanely expensive.
Monuments to lost freedom. The bigger, the more freedom lost it represents.
Everyone goes home when the dark wizard dies.
Rainbow - Stargazer.
"In the heat and the rain
With whips and chains
To see him fly
So many die
We build a tower of stone
With our flesh and bone
Just to see him fly
But don't know why
Now where do we go?"

If WTC 1 is 541 meters tall, why isn't it at numero dos tallest buildings? That "residential" labeling ain't a good answer.
just like ants...humans love building massive anthills!
always busy...always doing something
Let me know when puny man can remove 1 mountain ( a real one, granite, 9-12 thousand foot tall) and transport it to another location and put it back together, and don't go posting some bullshit about the Chinese moving some punk dirt pile in the quang do province to erect a big concrete pecker.
You might have overlooked the "Voodoo Child" himself, Jimi Hendrix:
I stand up next to a mountain
And I chop it down with the edge of my hand
Well, I stand up next to a mountain
I chop it down with the edge of my hand
Well, I pick up all the pieces and make an island
Might even raise a little sand
'Cause I'm a voodoo child
Voodoo child
Am I the only one that noticed that One World Trade Center is the most expensive building per square foot? Jeepers, a lot of people must have gotten rich off that one. And I thought only "Lucky Larry" benefited from 9/11!!
bearish the tallest numero uno...
or is it largest, longest, widest, or costliest ?
To reference an earlier post, it represents the greatest loss of freedom ever.
Obozo's narcissistic opinion of himself...
The world's biggest brain-fart!
The space most devoid of any matter---The area between Joe Biden's ears.
The Trans-Siberian railway is longer than all of those things.
And the Russians have also drilled and cased the Kola well to a depth of over 12,000m which is far deeper than any mine.
This infographic is lazy garbage.
"Lazy Garbage"
So true, they contradict themselves when they list the Boeing plant at 45B and then list the Marina Bay Sands as the world's most expensive at only 6B. What moron wasted time on this graphic?
I agree, the list is pathetically lacking.
Where are the worlds biggest dams, longest tunnels, biggest bridges, longest aquaducts or tallest antenna.
Just one example, China is building an aquaduct that is a few thousand miles long with each section weighing 1,200 tons and lifted into place by massive cranes. That alone will cost more than any of the "biggest" on that stupid infographic.
No mention either of the Hadron Collider. That is so big that it overlaps a few countries in Europe.
I have an idea; maybe they should use that to observe neutrinos instead of digging some deep tunnel. :-)
At only 1.5 billion, why didn't the fed just order 56.67 Burj Khalifas per month? Imagine the broken window potential!
second deepest... research facility.... hmmm.... I wonder what they're cooking over there...
Deepest structure: US shadow government rabbit hole.
It could be used to discard all the radioactive waste.
Sudbury Research Facility - 2000 meters underground. "A Sunlight Research Facility"
Someone's got their head firmly inserted into the crust.
Neutrinos, wich are emmited by the sun can go straight through earth.
The research facility is located deap underground to be sure they don't receive any parasite signal so that they can detect said neutrinos.
Yes I'm well aware of the purpose of the facility. The graphic says they are researching sunlight - not neutrinos.
Then I agree with you that it is a bit misleading.
I've been to the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO). They study solar neutrinos. It's hot as hell down there. I wonder how hot the African site is. BTW, the SNO is being done on the cheap. One day of the FED and other central bankers fiat printing could move science like you wouldn't believe.
yeah... neutrino's.... yeahhh... for the last 20 years.... yeah.... sure...
But the Italians found them zipping along faster than the speed of light from the CERN mega thingy.
CERN should be on the list too.
And how about the super deep oil drilling almost through the Earth's crust?
And how much has the ISS cost? And isn't that the tallest man made structure?
OK.. Enough frivolity.. Back to scotch and re-loading now
The "Neutrinos moving faster than light" thingy was more an experimental error in measuring time, there is still no such (physical) thing as moving faster than light.
What, not even an honorable mention for the new NSA fusion center?
Cloud computing in the age of the NSA.
Remind me how much space all the above ground gold fills again?
Something like an Olympic sized swimming pool. Maybe two of them.
170,000 tons of gold ever mined;
19.5 tons of gold per cubic meter
somewhere around 8000 cubic meters, or 20x20x20 meter cube.
They forgot the Dingo Fence in longest structures:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingo_Fence
The World's Highest, Deepest, & Largest Man-Made Structure: US National Debt.
Not a structure; empty promises at best, or just an illusion. A mirage.
What, no Dulce, NM, no Denver Airport, no underground Navy base in Hawthorne, NV, no intercontinental maglev trains, no..?
Can't help but notice the deepest is a gold mine and all I can think about is the input costs that go in to something like that. You're telling me they ain't losing money with gold barely a $1300?
How phthalic.
Down here in Colombia the women have breast implants and butt injections.....they have to be some of the biggest in some list..
My favorite is the deep tunnel to study sunlight.....easy job..Monday morning...do you see any sunlight Bob????....Bob says Nope...and its off to the coffee room for the rest of the day I guess
Fuckin A that is funny shit!
Deep ground gold storage.
Somewhat surprised to see The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas on here. It is a very nice hotel.
Went there for our honeymoon, issues blew up, wife calls the bear (my mother in law, tainted bitch that she is), somehow got us upgraded to a wrap around suite...goddamn that was an awesome room. Upity dicks there, but fancyschmancy it is.
Was the virgin sex better in the wraparound.
Ho-Jo's has a wraparound?
The Gerald R Ford cost $11B. obvioulsly the list doesnt include military endevours on this memorial day.
I thought the deepest hole was what America was in?
What about some real blowouts like the Central Banks that print the most..... That is some real records
It would take pilings and casings at least twice as deep as that POS Dubai thing, to bury the stench from Zero's corrupt administration!
The US Interstate Highway System is a lot longer than that Chinese wall.
And "the Internet" is even longer and more tangled.
And if all the US deficit was represented by dollar bills, they would stretch from here to there.
Sorry, can't read the print on the pictures. When I click on it, it gets even smaller. They may be large but they are small on my screen.
Hover over the strip. You should see an "magnifying glass with + symbol" then click again.
And eclipsing them all is the he tallest central bank-made structure - the equity market since 2009.
Kingdom Tower
Will not have a Kingdom Hall, sorry Johos.
The Saudis are building a 1 kilometer tall structure
http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/17/world/meast/saudi-arabia-to-build-tallest-...
Why are they not building OUT into the freakin' desert? Instead wasting all that steel and energy into buildings reaching for what? The hand of Allah?
Just keep building more targets, camel jockeys.
It was supposed to be a kilometer long and three stories high, but they've been holding the plans sideways and nobody wants to admit it.
Now that is some funny snarky racism....
Don't forget Underground Military Bases (UMBs):
Chicago deep tunnel (reportedly to stem flooding - hasn't made a noticed change)
Denver airport (connected to NORAD?)
Boston Big Dig (largest civil engineering project in its time)
New York Freedom Tower? (10 yrs to complete foundation)
Time to make some infographics :)
What kind of researchers put this together? The world's most expensive stucture is the LHC. From Wiki: With a budget of 7.5 billion euros (approx. $9bn or £6.19bn as of June 2010), the LHC is one of the most expensive scientific instruments[89] ever built.[
