Spot The Odd One Out
The USD is getting dumped; bond yields are tumbling; VIX is hgher; credit spreads are pushing wider... and stocks are (drum roll please) pleasantly green...
Good job those S&P firms are buying back all these shares from the retail and hedge fund sellers... as we noted earlier:

Thanks Obama!
You're welcome!
In the Name of Community Organizing.
Flight to safety? Except.... no seat belts.
Remember when buying stocks was deciding WHICH companies made the best products, had the best management, etc?
It's been a long time. It's just more manipulated paper now.
I don't know which charts you guys are looking at, but the VIX is definitely NOT getting higher!!!
This will all be taken care of overnight, after their evening strategic manipulation conference call.
You forgot the most important fundamental of them all:
It's Tuesday.
buybacks bitchez
ZH Reporter: Which chart looks different?
Alan Greenspan: Which chart? I don't see a chart? Do you see a chart? Andrea, where are the charts?
ZH Reporter: No, Andrea is not here. The charts... see the charts? Which one is different?
Alan Greenspan: Time for a hooker and some blow!
now it's time to figure out who is going to be left holdingthe bag, then it will collapse.
I'm pretty sure this has already been determined...
It's been said if you don't know who the sucker at the table is, it's you. I can say from personal experience that this knowledge, while very important, is not always helpful.
And gold and silver is being taken down
Just take a quick peek to see if your ounces are still there...
You see: all there! Unless you had an unfortunate accident...
Yeah, and not only is my stack still there, but funny enough...the lower they push Ag the more my stack grows. It's crazy like that. Well...looks like it's time to quit for the day and swing by my trusty 'ol LCS for a stack boost!
Cheers, bitchez!!!
(looks like second in reply)
If so, then I don't think the
banks want to see the VIX
higher. Except they'll sell the
bailout ultimately. Are gold/silver
supposed to be irrelevant, or, are
the banks going to back up and
load the truck?
Almost time for another bail-out.
BUY it all QE EUro style is comin
I think about Steve Martin in the movie The Jerk. Looking at these charts make me think I just took off my optigrabs. Maybe, if lucky my name will be chosen from the phone book.
I think about Steve Martin on SNL:

though the reality is more like:
"Free for those who can afford it, very expensive for those who can't." - Withnail
Look at them pound that VIX
If you can't buy your own stock at all time highs when can you buy it! Gartman said when the chart goes from left bottom to top right it is the time to buy
If volitility goes to zero do stock prices not move?
I thought that if volatility goes to zero the put to call ratio is 1
Come on people, what could possibly go wrong with CEO'S loading up a companies balance sheet with debt to pay for stock buybacks? When things get bad again (because everything is so peachy now), and the S&P is trading 1200 they'll have all the stock they bought back to re-issue all over again.
Connection between these is tenuous in a QE world.
If the market has no confidence in the US Govt I would expect the yield to be rising. Otherwise it just indicates people selling cash and buying bonds (which are two sides of the same coin).
When the dollar is done its value will be crashing while the yield goes UP because the cost of the bond has dropped below face. That will be the end.
This is still just noise.
But if I had to guess ...
The FED would add zero's to non-US banks' accounts (like, maybe Belguim????). Those banks would trade those dollars for UST's, supporting the bond bid while dumping dollars into the market.
ECB could do the same thing.
Maybe i am late to the party here, but if the dollar tumbles usually the gold price rises. So are we clearly seeing a financial war with the west taking down the gold and in retaliation the east taking down the UST, is this the way its going to be until the lack of physical crashes the system?
