Commuters Herded Like Cattle As China Escalates Its Own "War On Terror"
Submitted by Mike Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,
I have often said that while 9/11 was a horrible event, our collective response to it has been the real tragedy (read my How I Remember September 11, 2001 post). A terrible event is no excuse to become such scared children that we would relinquish the basic freedoms our ancestors fought so hard to secure for us.
The only people who really benefit from an expansion of the surveillance state and a loss of liberties are the rich and powerful. With China’s economy in free fall and increased violence occurring, it appears the leadership there is taking a page out of our post 9/11 playbook. This is what the commute looks like at train stations in Beijing:

This is what cattle in pens look like:

Actually, the cattle have more space. Seriously though, this is all security theatre. As I have mentioned on prior occasions, I have never gone through one of those naked body scanners. Instead, I opt out for the TSA “freedom grope.” Why? Because I know it’s total bullshit and I’m not going along with it.
I fly from Denver to New York City quite a bit and you know what I’ve noticed. While every machine in Denver is now a naked body scanner, all of the machines from the security checkpoint I use in New York are regular metal detectors. I find this bizarre. If the number one target for terrorism can get away with metal detectors, why can’t everywhere else? Because people like former head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Michael Chertoff, need to get paid.
More from the Wall Street Journal:
Already difficult commutes in China’s capital became even more punishing this week, as Beijing beefed up subway security checks in the wake of deadly attacks targeting civilians.
Hundreds of unhappy commuters stood in long lines across the city Wednesday morning to undergo enhanced security screenings, which now include body checks as well as bag screenings in several stations. At stations in the city’s north, subway staff said passengers had to wait between 20-30 minutes to get through the security line, up from about 10-15 minutes prior to the new screening requirements.
“This is such a hassle,” said Zhi Yajuan, 23, as she stood in line Tuesday at Tiantongyuan North Station. “It’s just going through the motions. They don’t care even if the machine beeps.”
Security measures have stiffened across China in recent weeks, following a series of violent attacks since the start of the year. In the most recent incident, 31 people were killed last week in an attack at a market in northwest Urumqi. In March, dozens were killed in an assault by knife-wielding assailants at a train station in southwest Kunming. Authorities have labeled such episodes terrorist attacks and attributed them to separatists in northwestern Xinjiang.
They better ban knives, and quick.
Additional security measures in Beijing now include helicopter patrols, while cities across the country have been further arming their police forces, as well.
I don’t care what kind of security you put in place, if some maniac wants to do something crazy they are going to do it. Personally, I have no interest in living in a society where everyone is scared of their own shadow 24/7. We are all going to die, stop being afraid and start living. Free.

Take your sandals off, move along...
Oh, I thought they were all waiting for a ride at Disneyland.
soooooo... what happens when there's an electrical fire in one of these train stations?
Why you so Uighur for trouble?
...all of the machines from the security checkpoint I use in New York are regular metal detectors...
I'm calling bullshit on this. I fly through NY very often. No fucking way. Those fucking scumbags ALWAYS give me a hard time when I'm opting out. This is for both domestic and international. AND to top it all off, the TSA agents at JFK are the lowest of the fucking low.
This is reminding of line for purchasing of good in Soviet Russia. Welcome to ration situation with dose of state surveillance, all in name of "war on terror". Now when Boris is burp, fart, or defecate, is blame "war on terror", is feeling of special kinship with elite globalist.
We are all the living dead now.....
It's not the people who are afraid, it's the gvts paranoia of their failed policys which has come to light which creates situations like this one.
A sign you have made it as a superpower is to have the TSA class of citizen!!!
I remember the same problem in the Basque region of Spain when a bomb scare was announced in a crowded rail station. There was only one door and in the ensuing panic 100s were injured or killed trying to get through that door. The moral is; Don't put all your Basques in the one exit.
the chinese government is claiming that this is because of the recent meetings in beijing of the higher ups in government and putin visiting. none of my chinese colleagues know anything about the recent terrorist attacks. none of them have heard about anything regarding vietnam either. then again, most americans stil think 19 arabs with box cutters pulled off 9/11, so i guess i shouldnt judge.
Went to the airport in our 2nd tier city last week. For the first time saw para-military types carrying carbine auto weapons. Used google translate to ask what cal. they were toting. The guy smiled and said 7.9. I like these guys better than TSA.
yeah i had to take off my shoes in a chinese airport for the first time ever last week. might have to move to south america soon.
we fart in your general direction
All is justify in name of "war on terror". Boris' only regret is did not trademark slogan at USPTO before George W. Bush.
But Maurice Strong and George Soros said that China is the "role model" for the world.
Indeed, it is ... with a pinch of North Korea for taste. The sheep have been warned.
Maurice Strong is up there with Mao and Kissinger in the evil stakes.
'America' is the role model for the world.
It is imported from 'america'. The renaissance of the 'american' made.
Chinese are only copy cats, they could not have got that idea by themselves. Only from countries that invented freedom, truth, justice etc
So the chinese will get their airport for rich people soon?
TSA are for the masses. Rich people avoid all those trivialities....
I have heard they actually shit right in the streets. Farting is so 80's.

are those some kind of fetish of yours
One starts to wonder just how stressed those people really are. I'll ignore the retard in the first video, but the other two indicates that the chinks are so pressured that they can't even take a shit when they have the opportunity, only when they can no longer control themselves.
But I'm over 50, and haven't had a 'white' pair of undies in over 20 years, so I'm biased.
cAss Cumstain has a hardon right now....
They do shit in the streets. I've gotten on a train with these bastards and almost got into a fist fight. Cattle pens are a step in the right direction. Pushy little fuckers.
Ever fish near one?
Good job China. Keep making the same mistakes the US did all these years and pretty soon we can go back to reviling you as the Evil Empire.
Looks like JFK, BWI, DCA, ATL, DFW, not to mention One Percenter Sporting events, concerts, and entries into gov't fortresses.
Was in service in Italy. Had us looking under cars with a mirror on a stick. Guess we were looking for red tube with a fuse hanging out of it.
Same in Germany.
I had my car inspected in Augsburg with one of those mirrors on a stick. I remember thinking I wanted to say "you wont find anything, because I covered the bomb with grease and road grime" but I wasn't certain if the guy would laugh or shoot me.
the bitter irony of this is that in Israel, an Israeli Arab has less chance of being gropped, xrayed, and chemical sniffed than a white 3 year old or an 85 year old colostomy bagged wheel chair bound Merkian. It should make you seethe with a boiling hatred everytime you're asked for your papers. jmo
Looks like a explosive device could do horrendous damage in crowded conditions like that.
It's a terrorist's wet dream. Guess it's one way to reduce the commuter load.
Jesus...does the TSA need to go there and show them how to do it properly? I see not one Chinese asshole being inspected for butt bombs... Good luck fighting terrorism without spreading some cheeks.
Re: Comment-4804299
I don't think you want to go spreading chinese buttcheeks.
Perhaps more disturbing is the mass trial of 55 people accused in the terriorist attacks in Xinjiang located in a sport's stadium in Yining with seven thousand spectators yesterday (following a previous one last week). A so-called 'rally' like those that were so ubiquitous during the Cultural Revolution.
Move to Australia. We don't carry out with all that nonsense. In fact one of our politician's recently brought his own pipe-bomb into Parliament House.
http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/liberal-senator-bi...
I call bullshit. I've been through Melbourne and Sydney airports -- border patrol are even bigger bullies there than in the US. Complete with full body scanners and everything (based on I think 10 trips that I've taken between 2009-2012).
They bark orders at you like you're entering some sort of prison camp as you wait in the line with the non-Australian citizens.
I thought we were talking about domestic travel. That's what this article is about right? You seem to want to make everything about you. For all we know you demanded the full anal exam they gave you at sydney and Melbourne.
Security officer: "Sir there's really no need for me to shove my fist into your rectum."
You: "I insist. And make sure you go deep!"
Not making it about me, I'm just too well acquainted with this Aussie notion that Australia is somehow several steps above the UK or the US. Maybe because it's so far off on a distant corner of the planet that no one really has anything within their realm of experience to compare it to. Let me tell you, having lived there, it's no better and arguably worse.
Not making it about you, followed by a one-sided subjective diatribe... what a confused soul.
I live in western australia and there are none of these things happening here. As I said, you probably demanded they do those things to you. I won't judge, a lot of people are into that type of thing.
The article is about domestic travel, not your homoerotic experiences of international travel.
Also, Australians are racist and homophobic, possibly driven by the fact that most of them are inbred redneck shitheads.
LOL, Freedum, I also live in Western Australia, the Australian airports and security you talk about is in some weird alternative universe that exists in your head. Racist and Homophobic, sure but in a very whispered behind closed doors, know its not right sort of way, which seems to be the norm for most of the western world.
Aussiekiwi, I truly regret not having made it to WA if this is the case because this was my experience in Melbourne / Sydney. You may have the benefit of traveling as an Aussie citizen and thus not be exposed to the sort of experience non-Australian citizens are at the border.
I think there are just as many problems regarding freedoms and civil rights in Australia as there are in the US or UK -- it is not a utopia, and that's the gist of what I am trying to argue here.
WA is relatively more relaxed, NSW and Victoria are full-on police states.
Although full-body scanners are not ubiquitous in Australian Airports yet. If "randomly picked" you cannot opt out or they will take you for questioning and make you miss your flight and can ban you from flying for 24h.
http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2013/01/you-cant-opt-out-of-airport-body-scans-in-australia/
I love Australia and I feel so sad to see it being destroyed by globalist-fascists. I am planning to leave.
Race you to the door .... I can't believe I am actually looking forward to leaving this once great country. 5th generation and proud but it is not the same place we loved.
Ukraine and Russia look good to me FFS
See you at the airport :)
For the last time, we are talking about domestic travel. We are not talking about your problems at the border. STOP MAKING THIS ABOUT YOU!
Australia has a massive tourism industry, do you think we would really set up internal harassment checkpoints, to harass the tourists every time they moved? Maybe at the border they harass people. I don't know. But the article is addressing domestic travel. So keep on topic.
If there's an article on border security then your stories would be quite relevant. Here they are totally off topic.
Really? Must put Austrailia on my next place to visit. I really miss our american racist, homophobic, inbred, redneck shitheads...it's like I'm an orphan or some shit.
Its nothing but a stereotype and myth. Gay marriage is legal in some places, gay civic unions legal everywhere. You won't find an old school Aussie unless you know where to look ... melting pot is an understatement. We are all immigrants anyway ... we got brought here from England not 200 yrs ago ? The men are full blown metrosexuals and the women raging feminists. You go to jail for hurting someones feelings by referring to the colour of their skin. You're not allowed to do anything dangerous in case you hurt yourself.
What did some Aussie once hurt your feelings Freedumb? Please don't return, with an attitude problem like yours I doubt anyone here wants you anyway.
I really do think he requested that rectal examination. He just gives off that vibe.
And we've got one hell of a dumb stupid prick running our country.Everytime this cunt Abbott opens his mouth I fucking cringe, and to think this arsehole was once training to be a preist.
Not to mention DRUG dogs at public events or throughout public transit networks permitted to sniff at anyone without even "reasonable suspicion", nevermind probable cause, CCTV cameras mounted on police cars which roam the CBD's (downtown areas, for those unacquainted with the term). You think that's freedom?
Totally agree. Didnt realize the degree to which Australia is a fascist country until transit via Sydney to Auckland.
No opt out of scanners for physical body search (dig those anal cavity searches) - when we complained, were agressively threatened with 24 hour mandatory detention for "suspicious behaviour" and no possibility to fly onwards to our destination .

Well, the subways were one of the saving graces of Beijing. I guess that does it for me vis-a-vis CHina. Bad air, bad water, bad food, historical sites overrun with busloads of mouthbreathers.
If I go back to Beijing I won't leave the Airport Hiton. Bring a bagful of vitamins and supplements and dried fruit, survive and get right back on the plane. They are bent on creating hell on earth.
Probably practicing when/if their economy collapses...herding onto trains to ... where ?
All those empty cities.
Chinese FEMA camps make ours look like KOA.
I guess Obama anticipates trouble too:
Inside the Ring: Directive outlines Obama’s policy to use the military against citizenshttp://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/may/28/inside-the-ring-directiv...
Hey, Obama, we have plans to use the military too. Against the state.
So the response to terror attacks is ... to force people to stand in massive crowds where they are going to have to trample each other to get away if there's an attack.
Yeah, that totally makes sense. Maybe they need a security screen before you get in the security screen line?
Wow. Where's the fucking train !!
Three miles to the left.
amen . fuck fear if today is the day i die so fucking be it. fuck fear fuck fuck fuck it fuck it ,
it works like this ( remember lots of people and lots of trains): You buy a ticket at the ticket hall at the end of the train station on the outside. In front of the train station is a large square where lots of people are waiting along with the usual hawkers. You get in the line to get into the departure station and show your ticket at least once. Then you proceed to the departure hall for your train, this is where all the passengers on your train are waiting. When your train enters the station everyone lines up like in the pictures and proceds thru the gates where you ticket is viewed several more times. This allows you to get to the platform and on the train.
If they didn't do this there would be hundreds of non paying passengers on your train and they are harder to get off than to prevent from getting on. I highly reccomend a trip to China.
Thankyou dogbreath for clearing that up.
I was in china in 2010 and had to buy tickets for my train several days in advance. My last train was the worst - 33 hours to beijing. My next china trip will be Chiang Jiang or Honda 125 wherever I want to go
Well... if there is a knifer around this will probably help quite a bit - like cattle to a slaughter. Panic would cause people to push and trample those infront.
Though the defensive measure would be how packed it is - the knifer wouldn't be able to get much leverage lol... and brave commuters could restrain the person better.
this looks better than normal
normal would be just a huge chaotic herd lol
Actually if you've lived in China you'll realize the rails and lines are there not to control people's lives but to prevent a mass shoving and cutting into the line, which is customary in China. This happens at bus stations, airports etc. too. No big deal.
They're famous for not lining up in an orderly fashion: the opposite of Japanese in this regard.
yeah. i think in the context of a western post like this it's a disturbing pic maybe to westerners
but actually that looks WAY better than the normal beijing, or taipei or shanghai or tokyo commute lol
I spent six months living in rural Fujian and when the empty bus pulls out into the bus loop and makes a turn around the station to stop and let passengers on before beginning its route, people are already boosting little tots through the open windows to grab seats...even before the bus has come to a stop!
cool i've mostly just been up to harbin and the smaller north-east logging cities (importing from russia) and it's relatively slow up there lol
Try to get on a bus in the south of Italy. Even if you happen to stand in front of the doors when they open, you'll be the last to enter.

It always amazes me how thousands of trains zip all over the world every hour, the vast majority of passengers have absolute zero security screening and yet there is such huge paranoia at airports, hello, both are large numbers of passengers confined in tubes. Perhaps it is because aircraft cost more, could just be about the almighty dollar.
Shhh. Stop giving them ideas.
I live in China and travel a lot. I find the experience much better than the one I get in the States. A still photo does not do justice to the situation. China has 1.3 billion people and moves them quickly and efficiently, and without being harrassed by trailer trash TSA employees. China-bashing reporters will take a photo of an atypical situation and report that it is the norm in ALL of the country. Such is the Yellow Press. And BTW, China's economy is NOT in free-fall. This is just the hope of Americans who see their hegemony failing.
Isn't 'Yellow Press' raycyst?! Particularly when mentioning Asians?!
What are you implying?

And they all want your car and your bacon burger.
The only people who really benefit from an expansion of the surveillance state and a loss of liberties are the rich and powerful.
Actually it is the State which benefits from the expansion of the surveillance state. If you are rich and powerful you might be able to buy protection and favors.
OK and who owns the state? The rich and powerful who not just "might" buy protection and favours. Dead cert guaranteed.
Any further confusion?
"I have often said that while 9/11 was a horrible event, our collective response to it has been the real tragedy "
Yep. Cheney and Rumsfeld won that one
Too true and hardly just a "horrible event", it was an obscene inside job and nothing to do with Osama bin Laden + 19 arab non-pilots.
The author of this piece should do some research and cease implicitly supporting what he superficially objects to.
If he bothered to visit A&E for 911 Truth, for instance, then he would (possibly) soon realize that the entire "war on terror" is as big a deadly farce as the "war on drugs" and all else the MIC touts in the MSM.
Thank Jerome Hauer for giving the Mockingbird Press the 9/11 culprits' identities in under an hour. I've seen liquor store hold-ups that took longer to "solve".
Solve it? Easy.
19 Wahabist nutjobs who hate non-Islam, funded by back door Saudi Royal Family oil money, take advantage of tertiary small airports in the USA and hijack planes.
Islam has been at war with non-Islam since about AD610. Note that date is just a few weeks before the USA began pissing off Muslims and forcing them to do this due to faulty Foggy Bottom policies. (sic)
Since no one, anywhere, had ever hijacked a *commercial liner* to use it's PE and KE as a weapon, no one thought it would happen.
They then chose two of the three buildings world wide that don't have an internal structural support system, fly the aircraft into those structures, and cause their collapse.
If only society had not reacted so fascistically to the events.
I asked my partents how many buildings fell in NYC on 911. They said 2. The propaganda machine has succeeded.
have to dissagree about the TSA in NY just fley overseas and contrary to what has been said here they were extremely professional and polite
and no ? am not a troll
Whenever I see this security theatre nonsense I'm reminded of this great presentation from US Cyber Command (yeah, the pros don't buy the theatre either).
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v0JHDr1oT0Y
Fact is, humans are SMART. There isn't any protective measure you can design that can't be easily bypassed, in 100 different ways, by sufficiently motivated individuals. So the key to security is to design around the motivation (remove it), not to try and catch attackers in the act. Prevention of disease is always more effective, cheaper, but less glamorous, than treatment of an established disease.
Security theatre is not prevention, it's not even treatment, it's just kids playing doctors and nurses.
Just so that we can be clear, any terrorist attack by muslims in china from here on in is a CIA false flag attack.
Because everyone knows how dumb muslims are, and will do precisely what the CIA tells them, all over the world, every day, without question.
Bullshit. It is IMPOSSIBLE to do ANYTHING in China as a non-Han and NOT arouse intense suspicion.
Freedom Fries....Smoke 'em out
The CIA is doing a good job - for itself and not for China.
I have not seen the cattle pens on any of my trips to China. They may be there, but what I saw was orderly and respectful people. Yes, they are afraid of the government and the government is afraid of the people... but it is generally orderly and respectful (except for the pushy old ladies and drivers of course).
Just as in the US, the people may go through the motions of looking as if they are cowed and compliant ... but underneath they could decide to change if the situation indicates a need for a change. The government workers are for the most part people too and they know something is not right, so they generally practice a form of subtle noncompliance.
I think they are just patiently waiting to buy the latest Air Jordans, like we do in the USA.
Its all about the CONTROL. No civilized people would put up with this!
would they?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xbp6umQT58A
wow where are they all going? Somebody giving out free fish heads?
