Someone Is Lying: Obama Says Not Arming Syrian Rebels, Syrian Rebels Say He Is
As we noted yesterday, President Obama is saying he is contemplating arming and training Syrian rebels (just the 'moderates' which will be identified by their smiles). However, as the following PBS Frontline documentary exposes, the Syrian rebels themselves say they are already armed and trained by US in the use of sophisticated weapons and fighting techniques, including, one rebel said, "how to finish off soldiers still alive after an ambush." The interviews are the latest evidence that after more than three years of warfare, the United States has stepped up the provision of lethal aid to the rebels, as PBS notes "it appears the Obama administration is allowing select groups of rebels to receive US-made anti-tank missiles." So who is lying? Obama (again) or the Syrian rebels (who show US-made supplies in the following clips).
The whole interview is noteworthy and damning for the administration but the good stuff starts around 8:00
The documentary, produced by FRONTLINE for airing on PBS stations, features journalist Muhammad Ali, who has been following the Syrian civil war for the program. It shows Ali meeting up with a seemingly moderate faction of the rebels, though the faction itself is not identified — apparently for fear of angering its American contacts.
Ali is shown riding with a rebel supply officer as he traveled to the Turkish border to reportedly pick up American-supplied Russian weapons and ammunition, but he is not allowed to accompany the fighters to the actual meeting.

The commander of the unit also told Ali that their American contacts had asked him to bring 80 to 90 members of his unit to Ankara for training.

One of the fighters said they received three weeks of training in how to conduct ambushes, conduct raids and use their weapons. They also said they received new uniforms and boots.
“They trained us to ambush regime or enemy vehicles and cut off the road,” said the fighter, who is identified only as “Hussein.” “They also trained us on how to attack a vehicle, raid it, retrieve information or weapons and munitions, and how to finish off soldiers still alive after an ambush.”

The United States has refused to confirm its growing efforts to help the fighters. Neither the Pentagon nor the CIA would comment on Frontline’s findings.
For the United States, publicly embracing such an effort presents many challenges, chief among them widespread opposition among U.S. voters for more direct U.S. involvement in the Syrian conflict.

Perhaps because of those reasons, Congress has never publicly signed off on funding for a training and arming effort, and officially, the United States only provides non-lethal aid, like food rations, clothing and first aid supplies.

Furthermore, in my opinion, those who personally blame Obama, as an individual, for having become that kind of puppet are wrong when they deliberately ignore the long, long history of successful criminal conspiracies which created the civilization in which we are currently living, which has, due to the nature of the paradoxes of their own success, created conditions which are collective criminal insanities.

In a condition so fraught with insanities, to be sane is to expect more of the same kinds of insanities in the future, however, there is nothing satisfying about that kind of sanity ... Excellent Frontline last night, two parter on Ukraine then Syria. The Syrian "rebels" sure looked like they were having great fun with their US supplied TOW missiles but expressed great disappointment in no anti-aircraft materials. They pretty much said with no way to fight enemies in the sky they had no chance of winning. Interesting too that many of the small arms and ammo supplied by US - CIA supporters were all Russian made.
I watched this last night myself. I thought the Ukraine bit had some propoganda in it. With Syria, I was surprised they were at least telling most of the story. Interesting bits overall.

The U.S. has been employing their "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" foreign policy for so long now this is hardly surprising. When these Syrian rebels get out of hand, we will just arm some other group to take care of them, and so on.

The most recent conlusion as to who used the chemical weapons has decided it was probably Turkey that used them.
They were trying to give the US an excuse to get involved so they could also get the natural gas pipeline brought in from Saudi-Arabia and Oman. Turkey would make a lot of money on that pipeline as it would cross Turkey on it's way to Europe.
As I said in a previous post, you mean the part of the show where a staged phone call is filmed and use of chemical weapons is supported by a self-described unsubstantiated YouTube video from somewhere showing something. That's some soild journalism right there. The thug Assad is winning, so why would he do the only thing that could get NATO involved? There is no controvery here, the entire segment was designed to build support for increased US involvement amoung the PBS viewership. Chaos is good for business even if they don't get their pipeline.

Obama wants to emasculate Putin any way he can. Getting the natural gas pipeline built across Syria is very high on the list. The US got rid of Sadam, Gaddafi and Mubarak in order to get what they want (to get the respective countries into debt and therefore under IMF control). Now Obama wants rid of Assad who sides with Russia.
Each time the US has deposed any leader, the minority groups, mostly Christians, have suffered far worse under the new US allied governments.
We only have to look at how minorities are being treated by these US-supplied rebels to know what to expect.

This whole Benghazi ordeal was all about funneling arms into Syria. That's why they couldn't rescue the Ambassador. The "uprising" was a failed kidnapping event all spoiled by Woods and Doherty. There wasn't meant to be any resistance.
