Meet Directive 3025.18 Granting Obama Authority To Use Military Force Against Civilians

Tyler Durden's picture

While the "use of armed [unmanned aircraft systems] is not authorized," The Washington Times uncovering of a 2010 Pentagon directive on military support to civilian authorities details what critics say is a troubling policy that envisions the Obama administration’s potential use of military force against Americans. As one defense official proclaimed, "this appears to be the latest step in the administration’s decision to use force within the United States against its citizens." Meet Directive 3025.18 and all its "quelling civil disturbances" totalitarianism...

As The Washington Times reports,

Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities,” was issued Dec. 29, 2010, and states that U.S. commanders “are provided emergency authority under this directive.”

“Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the president in accordance with applicable law or permitted under emergency authority,” the directive states.

“In these circumstances, those federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances” under two conditions.

The conditions include military support needed “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property and are necessary to restore governmental function and public order.” A second use is when federal, state and local authorities “are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.”

A U.S. official said the Obama administration considered but rejected deploying military force under the directive during the recent standoff with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and his armed supporters.

“Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,” the directive states.

Military assistance can include loans of arms, ammunition, vessels and aircraft. The directive states clearly that it is for engaging civilians during times of unrest.

There is one silver lining (for now)...

“Use of armed [unmanned aircraft systems] is not authorized,” the directive says.

And the full Directive is below...

Repent! When the time comes for domestic extremists they will know that the only responsible thing to do will be to lay down their arms and submit to the will of the almighty. The prince of peace has won the war for hearts and minds and you will know that his name is Barack Obama! Praise Him, praise the one and we will declare all his glory form the roof tops and mountain tops.

Civilians? What are those? From whence do they hail? Are they anything like Martians?

Luckily for me, that label is not applicable.

Poor Obummer's gonna have to break the law to take me out.

Obama is, for the most part, a spectator president. I don't see him controlling anything at all; I see him following the script he's been given. No one can play as much golf as he does and still be "in charge."

This is a Pentagon directive signed by a Deputy Defense Secretary, William J. Lynn. Others do the thinking for Obama, just like with the past few presidents. Obama is the ultimate teleprompter politician, a mascot-figurehead for a country devolving into all-out fascism. The role of president has become largely symbolic.

This directive reeks of the Deep State we've been hearing so much about recently. If Obama "authorizes" military force against civilians, you can be certain it's because he was told to do so by the unelected permanent shadow government.

A family says a SWAT team raided its home in the middle of the night and seriously injured a 19-month-old boy with a stun grenade.

Alecia Phonesavanh told Channel 2’s Ryan Young her child is at the Grady Memorial Hospital burn unit, and  is in a medically induced coma.

Phonesavanh said she was at her sister-in-law’s home, in Habersham County, early Wednesday when police raided the house.

Phonesavanh told Young the grenade landed in the child’s crib, and she showed him a photo of a charred portable crib.

"It landed in his playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face," Phonesavanh said.

She also showed Young pictures of her child in the Grady burn unit. Channel 2 has decided not to share most of the photos because of the graphic nature of the child’s injuries."

It's all the rage these days to post the latest outrage-du-jour from thug cops. However, it just doesn't help if you don't have contact data to complain. For example, if you knew the officers' names or badge numbers it would be very helpful. That way you can write a complaint letter.

TSP, I see it the same way. It is nothing but the sistematic destruction of the individual by pushing them down on the Maslow's pyramyd. If Men must struggle to feed themselves there will be no time or energy left for self-actualisation, which invariable results in the conclusion that all governments are evil.

He's a puppet.  The oligarch's hope is to have a violent "American Spring" here as we have seen elsewhere to "justify" a crack down.  Regardless of what happens, the future is dark.  People need to prepare for the worst, for America is bleeding out right now.  We cannot depend on a savior, and more than likely our empire is already dead.

That's the plan if you think about it, the same people that put him in power will take him out, they'll use or blame it on some white patsy and that will start a race war.

Typical military strategy, if you want to conquer a nation you get the locals to fight each other, then when they're all played out you step in and take over.

This is why they are training the military that Tea Party, John Deere hat wearing grandpa's and returned Vet's are the enemy.

The question I have is: why go through all of this trouble to formalize a directive like this when you can do whatever the hell you want anyway? It's not like there is such a thing as rule-of-law today. Hell, no one can beat them in court beyond a slap on the wrist. It's all very strange.

Indeed.  Even after the Night of the Long Knives, the Reichstag enacted post-facto legislation to document that every killing was both necessary as an emergency measure, and completely in accordance with German law.  No harm, no foul.
