Eric Holder Announces Task Force To Focus On "Domestic Terrorists"

It’s been obvious for quite some time that the so-called “war on terror” is nothing more than a fear-mongering induced power grab; a convenient excuse to strip the citizenry of its civil liberties and humanity. Many commentators, including myself, have predicted for years that the entire counter-terror juggernaut that has been constructed post-9/11 would be ultimately redirected upon the domestic population.

Snowden’s heroic whistleblowing has already proven without a doubt that the government spy apparatus (along with tech company complicity) has been zeroed in on the domestic population for quite some time, but is the situation about to escalate? Are the feds so fearful of their own people, they are about to focus all their counter-terror energy on U.S. citizens? It appears so.

I warned about this development back in 2011 in my post: The War on Freedom. In it I stated:

This whole charade shouldn’t be called “The War on Terror.”  It is actually all about keeping the citizenry terrified.  The government loves keeping you in a state of fear so that then they can do anything they want to the little sheep.  It should be called “The War on Freedom.”  Your freedom.

Before I get to the main topic of this article, I think it’s important to read excerpts from yesterday’s powerful and timely op-ed by Noam Chomsky titled: Edward Snowden, the World’s “Most Wanted Criminal. Discussing the Snowden revelations, he writes:

These exposures lead us to inquire into state policy more generally and the factors that drive it. The received standard version is that the primary goal of policy is security and defense against enemies.

 

The doctrine at once suggests a few questions: security for whom, and defense against which enemies? The answers are highlighted dramatically by the Snowden revelations.

To defend state power and private economic power from the domestic enemy, those two entities must be concealed – while in sharp contrast, the enemy must be fully exposed to state authority.

 

The principle was lucidly explained by the policy intellectual Samuel P. Huntington, who instructed us that “Power remains strong when it remains in the dark; exposed to the sunlight it begins to evaporate.”

 

Huntington added a crucial illustration. In his words, “you may have to sell [intervention or other military action] in such a way as to create the misimpression that it is the Soviet Union that you are fighting. That is what the United States has been doing ever since the Truman Doctrine” at the outset of the Cold War.

 

Policy must assure the security of state authority and concentrations of domestic power, defending them from a frightening enemy: the domestic population, which can become a great danger if not controlled.

 

From that day forward, in order to carry out violence and subversion abroad, or repression and violation of fundamental rights at home, state power has regularly sought to create the misimpression that it is terrorists that we are fighting, though there are other options: drug lords, mad mullahs seeking nuclear weapons, and other ogres said to be seeking to attack and destroy us.

 

Throughout, the basic principle remains: Power must not be exposed to the sunlight. Edward Snowden has become the most wanted criminal in the world for failing to comprehend this essential maxim.

 

In brief, there must be complete transparency for the population, but none for the powers that must defend themselves from this fearsome internal enemy.

The concept of the U.S. government viewing the population as the true enemy has been a theme on this site for many years. For some background, I suggest reading the following:

The reason I chose to highlight these two articles, is that in one case it is the “tea party” being demonized, and in the other it is Occupy Wall Street. It doesn’t matter if the dissent is seen as emanating from the “right” or the “left,” it is dissent in general which is increasingly being demonized as “domestic terrorism.”

With all of that in mind, here is what Eric Holder’s “Justice” Department is up to. From the LA Times:

Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder, Jr. on Monday announced the creation of a task force within the Justice Department to combat an “escalating danger” from “homegrown” terrorists within the United States.

 

The task force will chiefly comprise leaders from the FBI, the Justice Department’s National Security Division and U.S. Attorneys. Called the Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee, it is a recreation of a task force formed by former Atty. Gen. Janet Reno after the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. The task force fell into disuse after 9/11.

 

Though the original task force, which was little known, focused mainly on right-wing zealots, Holder’s version is aimed at U.S. citizens or visitors radicalized via the Internet. Holder said the government will continue to fight terrorists abroad.

Oh the internet! That dangerous place where the citizenry engages in thoughtcrime and can actually perform real journalism without the censorship of mainstream propaganda media.

“But we also must concern ourselves with a different type of threat. We face an escalating danger from self-radicalized individuals within our own borders,” he said.

 

“Now — as the nature of the threat we face evolves to include the possibility of individual radicalization via the Internet — it is critical that we return our focus to potential extremists here at home,” Holder said.

NPR adds that:

“The threat from al-Qaida is much more diffuse after Sept. 11, and the threats posed by a single horribly misguided citizen or permanent legal resident in the U.S. is in a sense as great as what core al-Qaida posed before Sept. 11,” says Neil MacBride, a former U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

There you have it. It’s no longer al-Qaeda, it’s now supposedly your friends and neighbors. This is the prevailing meme of every tyrannical fascist regime in history.

The state’s war on the citizenry is becoming overt. Don’t be fooled, this is real and it is very dangerous.

I really don't think they view us as a real threat. Personally I just want to be left alone, I think most on here feel similarly. I would think there are enough people out there actually advocating the violent overthrow of the govt, or something similar, for them to worry about before they start coming after people on here for posting libertarian opinions on a website like this one. The writers we like and public figures we like would go long before they bothered to come after the few million of us who think this way.

Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union

The people of the State of South Carolina, in Convention assembled, on the 26th day of April, A.D., 1852, declared that the frequent violations of the Constitution of the United States, by the Federal Government, and its encroachments upon the reserved rights of the States, fully justified this State in then withdrawing from the Federal Union; but in deference to the opinions and wishes of the other slaveholding States, she forbore at that time to exercise this right. Since that time, these encroachments have continued to increase, and further forbearance ceases to be a virtue.

And now the State of South Carolina having resumed her separate and equal place among nations, deems it due to herself, to the remaining United States of America, and to the nations of the world, that she should declare the immediate causes which have led to this act.

In the year 1765, that portion of the British Empire embracing Great Britain, undertook to make laws for the government of that portion composed of the thirteen American Colonies. A struggle for the right of self-government ensued, which resulted, on the 4th of July, 1776, in a Declaration, by the Colonies, "that they are, and of right ought to be, FREE AND INDEPENDENT STATES; and that, as free and independent States, they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent States may of right do."

They further solemnly declared that whenever any "form of government becomes destructive of the ends for which it was established, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government." Deeming the Government of Great Britain to have become destructive of these ends, they declared that the Colonies "are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain is, and ought to be, totally dissolved."

In pursuance of this Declaration of Independence, each of the thirteen States proceeded to exercise its separate sovereignty; adopted for itself a Constitution, and appointed officers for the administration of government in all its departments-- Legislative, Executive and Judicial. For purposes of defense, they united their arms and their counsels; and, in 1778, they entered into a League known as the Articles of Confederation, whereby they agreed to entrust the administration of their external relations to a common agent, known as the Congress of the United States, expressly declaring, in the first Article "that each State retains its sovereignty, freedom and independence, and every power, jurisdiction and right which is not, by this Confederation, expressly delegated to the United States in Congress assembled."

Under this Confederation the war of the Revolution was carried on, and on the 3rd of September, 1783, the contest ended, and a definite Treaty was signed by Great Britain, in which she acknowledged the independence of the Colonies in the following terms: "ARTICLE 1-- His Britannic Majesty acknowledges the said United States, viz: New Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, to be FREE, SOVEREIGN AND INDEPENDENT STATES; that he treats with them as such; and for himself, his heirs and successors, relinquishes all claims to the government, propriety and territorial rights of the same and every part thereof."

Thus were established the two great principles asserted by the Colonies, namely: the right of a State to govern itself; and the right of a people to abolish a Government when it becomes destructive of the ends for which it was instituted. And concurrent with the establishment of these principles, was the fact, that each Colony became and was recognized by the mother Country a FREE, SOVEREIGN AND INDEPENDENT STATE.

In 1787, Deputies were appointed by the States to revise the Articles of Confederation, and on 17th September, 1787, these Deputies recommended for the adoption of the States, the Articles of Union, known as the Constitution of the United States.

The parties to whom this Constitution was submitted, were the several sovereign States; they were to agree or disagree, and when nine of them agreed the compact was to take effect among those concurring; and the General Government, as the common agent, was then invested with their authority.

If only nine of the thirteen States had concurred, the other four would have remained as they then were-- separate, sovereign States, independent of any of the provisions of the Constitution. In fact, two of the States did not accede to the Constitution until long after it had gone into operation among the other eleven; and during that interval, they each exercised the functions of an independent nation.

By this Constitution, certain duties were imposed upon the several States, and the exercise of certain of their powers was restrained, which necessarily implied their continued existence as sovereign States. But to remove all doubt, an amendment was added, which declared that the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people. On the 23d May , 1788, South Carolina, by a Convention of her People, passed an Ordinance assenting to this Constitution, and afterwards altered her own Constitution, to conform herself to the obligations she had undertaken.

Thus was established, by compact between the States, a Government with definite objects and powers, limited to the express words of the grant. This limitation left the whole remaining mass of power subject to the clause reserving it to the States or to the people, and rendered unnecessary any specification of reserved rights.

We hold that the Government thus established is subject to the two great principles asserted in the Declaration of Independence; and we hold further, that the mode of its formation subjects it to a third fundamental principle, namely: the law of compact. We maintain that in every compact between two or more parties, the obligation is mutual; that the failure of one of the contracting parties to perform a material part of the agreement, entirely releases the obligation of the other; and that where no arbiter is provided, each party is remitted to his own judgment to determine the fact of failure, with all its consequences.

In the present case, that fact is established with certainty. We assert that fourteen of the States have deliberately refused, for years past, to fulfill their constitutional obligations, and we refer to their own Statutes for the proof.

The Constitution of the United States, in its fourth Article, provides as follows: "No person held to service or labor in one State, under the laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in consequence of any law or regulation therein, be discharged from such service or labor, but shall be delivered up, on claim of the party to whom such service or labor may be due."

This stipulation was so material to the compact, that without it that compact would not have been made. The greater number of the contracting parties held slaves, and they had previously evinced their estimate of the value of such a stipulation by making it a condition in the Ordinance for the government of the territory ceded by Virginia, which now composes the States north of the Ohio River.

The same article of the Constitution stipulates also for rendition by the several States of fugitives from justice from the other States.

The General Government, as the common agent, passed laws to carry into effect these stipulations of the States. For many years these laws were executed. But an increasing hostility on the part of the non-slaveholding States to the institution of slavery, has led to a disregard of their obligations, and the laws of the General Government have ceased to effect the objects of the Constitution. The States of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa, have enacted laws which either nullify the Acts of Congress or render useless any attempt to execute them. In many of these States the fugitive is discharged from service or labor claimed, and in none of them has the State Government complied with the stipulation made in the Constitution. The State of New Jersey, at an early day, passed a law in conformity with her constitutional obligation; but the current of anti-slavery feeling has led her more recently to enact laws which render inoperative the remedies provided by her own law and by the laws of Congress. In the State of New York even the right of transit for a slave has been denied by her tribunals; and the States of Ohio and Iowa have refused to surrender to justice fugitives charged with murder, and with inciting servile insurrection in the State of Virginia. Thus the constituted compact has been deliberately broken and disregarded by the non-slaveholding States, and the consequence follows that South Carolina is released from her obligation.

The ends for which the Constitution was framed are declared by itself to be "to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity."

These ends it endeavored to accomplish by a Federal Government, in which each State was recognized as an equal, and had separate control over its own institutions. The right of property in slaves was recognized by giving to free persons distinct political rights, by giving them the right to represent, and burthening them with direct taxes for three-fifths of their slaves; by authorizing the importation of slaves for twenty years; and by stipulating for the rendition of fugitives from labor.

We affirm that these ends for which this Government was instituted have been defeated, and the Government itself has been made destructive of them by the action of the non-slaveholding States. Those States have assume the right of deciding upon the propriety of our domestic institutions; and have denied the rights of property established in fifteen of the States and recognized by the Constitution; they have denounced as sinful the institution of slavery; they have permitted open establishment among them of societies, whose avowed object is to disturb the peace and to eloign the property of the citizens of other States. They have encouraged and assisted thousands of our slaves to leave their homes; and those who remain, have been incited by emissaries, books and pictures to servile insurrection.

For twenty-five years this agitation has been steadily increasing, until it has now secured to its aid the power of the common Government. Observing the *forms* [emphasis in the original] of the Constitution, a sectional party has found within that Article establishing the Executive Department, the means of subverting the Constitution itself. A geographical line has been drawn across the Union, and all the States north of that line have united in the election of a man to the high office of President of the United States, whose opinions and purposes are hostile to slavery. He is to be entrusted with the administration of the common Government, because he has declared that that "Government cannot endure permanently half slave, half free," and that the public mind must rest in the belief that slavery is in the course of ultimate extinction.

This sectional combination for the submersion of the Constitution, has been aided in some of the States by elevating to citizenship, persons who, by the supreme law of the land, are incapable of becoming citizens; and their votes have been used to inaugurate a new policy, hostile to the South, and destructive of its beliefs and safety.

On the 4th day of March next, this party will take possession of the Government. It has announced that the South shall be excluded from the common territory, that the judicial tribunals shall be made sectional, and that a war must be waged against slavery until it shall cease throughout the United States.

The guaranties of the Constitution will then no longer exist; the equal rights of the States will be lost. The slaveholding States will no longer have the power of self-government, or self-protection, and the Federal Government will have become their enemy.

Sectional interest and animosity will deepen the irritation, and all hope of remedy is rendered vain, by the fact that public opinion at the North has invested a great political error with the sanction of more erroneous religious belief.

We, therefore, the People of South Carolina, by our delegates in Convention assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, have solemnly declared that the Union heretofore existing between this State and the other States of North America, is dissolved, and that the State of South Carolina has resumed her position among the nations of the world, as a separate and independent State; with full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent States may of right do.

It's good to be the King.

Best way to avoid prison is to be the top policeman.  What, he's going to investigate himself?  My only curiosity is this...does he know what he is, or does he truly believe he is good and just and his critics are evil?  If the latter, we're fooked, as nothing is more dangerous than a zealot who can't or won't see reason.

Might be time to buy the cheapest tablet I can find, never turn it on except at public wi-fi locations, set up a few free e-mail accounts, and start reporting huge numbers of people for questionable activity.  I could start with everyone on the Boards of the TBTFs, everyone in the mass media, the Federal Reserve, the Dept's of Treasury, State, the ironically-named "Law Enforcement," etc., and go on from there.

You misunderstand the significance of the first ten amendments of the constitution also known as the Bill of Rights. The idea of individual rights that come from god or natures god (natural rights) for those of us that do not believe, was revolutionary. So if you believe rights come from man or controlled by men, you've already given up your rights. Not that men do not try to deny innate rights to others. Understanding this alone does not guarantee freedom but taking a fatalistic point of view kills it dead. Those ideas put to paper will be relevant as long as there are humans on this rock.

As this will surely put me on the NSA watch list, I will say it anyway.. The Founding Fathers believed civil disobedience to be an important part of American life. Well, not all of them. Hamilton and Adams favored the centralization of power like we have today. Jefferson and Madison believed there was more to be gained by de-centralized power. Jefferson is even quoted as saying something like "occasional civil disobedience is good for our country as it shows government who is truly in charge... The people." We need to start the long hard fight to get back to this.

Self fulfilling prophecy

As more and more pressure is applied to the populace in every way imaginable, acts of violence are all but certain. However justified, like retaliation to over homicidal cops or some other seemingly just reasoning, you would be labeled a terrorist instantly. And no matter the future there will always be a percentage of the populace willing to participate in a tyranny witting or unwitting. Hence the red pill blue pill analogy or worse, the German people in the 1930's that turned a blind eye and those that actively participated. Considering the current technology like information, drones, computer etc. it's easy to envision a future as an amalgamation of every dystopian movie made for the last 30 years. Given all the factors it's hard to see how it could turn out different. Total information awareness and men seeking to control others plus automated drones; what could go wrong.

It was a rhetorical question only meant to point out the inevitability of a tyrannical future. Sure, lots of things could happen to derail this and I hope it does.

It's simple logic. Given multiple historical examples, a government accumulating more and more power and the means technologically to protect it, clear where this leads. Prognosticating is a fools errand I'll admit, just looking at it as clear and objective as I can.

That sentence was mainly meant for those that still think that the US government is different and they will only use this power justly. Or that the right criminal gang needs to be elected and everything will be fine. When the Patriot Act was passed I was on the fence. I could see that it was troubling but thought we needed some extra security. Of course I know now that you cannot trust any human or group of humans with that kind of power. There was a pervasive idea that 'no, no, no, it will not be used in a bad way'. But of course it will in almost every instance. I see the same pervasive ideas concerning drones and privacy. The masses don't want to see what is coming.

The government does not help the Veterans for many years. The treatment or lack of treatment to the Veterans through the VA is designed to make the Veterans disgruntled. They then get frustrated and attack the system to bring attention to the problems. The rescue of Berghald for 5 major terrorist will make the public angry. (maybe it is because the genetic code allows any of us to be aggressive and/or intelligent... the secret is that the genetics cannot be eliminated, only controlled by the individual and not a "government").

Which makes me wonder why they thought it wise to give us technology. Granted, some knowledge they surpress (real genetics, free energy, true history), maybe because that would let the genie out of the bottle, but we have access to technologies that we can use for them or for ourselves. (or is it that THEY need the technology and do not have the inate creativity to figure out how it works or how to apply?). They are after all only PARASITES.

I was always fascinated how Germans, Russians and Italians allowed tyrants to sieze power during the 1930-40's.  We are seeing the very same thing happen right before our eyes today - it starts with propaganda, then policy, then violence. We are past the propaganda stage and well into the policy stage.  Violence against citizens (though already happening now at the hands of LEO's) is forthcoming on a mass scale. The majority of the public are are in denial and completely oblivious to what's happening around them. The few who get it are regarded as kooks, crack-pots, conspiracists or dangerous radicals.  The others who get it are in on it or on the dole.  History is shampoo - Rinse, lather, repeat.

I recently started reading ZH because I enjoy the mystery of whats really going on, the chess game, and I quickly realized I learned more from the comments. (thanks for taking the time to explain most of these economic articles) I'm not an economist, but I'm now understanding. I'm not an activist, but actively looking at who's side I want to support. I'm not a writer but compelled to write this.

There are people on this site that are far more knowledgeable than myself, those that can see the whole chess board, YOU ARE THE ONES THAT SHOULD BE THROWING OUT THE NEXT MOVES, .. JUST ONE POSITIVE SUGGESTION PER POST could spur the next great educational site, or someone noble to run for office. We all have a strong side, something we could do that aligns with hundreds of others.... we need to attack from all sides.

Let's use the right kind of bullets in EVERY post. I know there are others reading and not posting, so your comments do get read and can make a difference, for I too was once in the herd..Hopefully a few of you have some better bullets!

  • Get your money out of the banks. Forget your credit and debit cards - who can write a good piece that we can give our friends and relatives.
  • know what country and how many slaves had to work to make your toys. quit buying the crap for just 6 months!!
  • Couldn't we partially defund the government by claiming 12 on our W2. ya we will owe at the end of the year, but what would happen if 279 million people said enough and changed their w'2s tomorrow. any accountants out there???
  • If you hear a good comment or know of a good candidate that actually did or said something as a libertarian or constitutionalists, post it so we can support them, even if its just a small comment on their site so they don't feel isolated. more will speak out if they know we have their backs! We have time to post here, so lets post to the RIGHT politicians and work FOR them

I humbly ask, If we get to the point we need to use our lead isn't it bye bye American Pie. It will take years to defeat our own government with their tanks, soldier police forces, millions of rounds of ammunition. And what will America look like? NOT A PLACE I WANT MY GRANDKIDS to have to LIVE IN. I would venture to guess most of us are middle-aged now. shouldn't we be fighting the good fight for the next generation? or just stacking and prepping for ourselves? (nothing wrong in that, i'm a bit prepared myself) but once we are prepared then what??? IT'S NOT FAIR THAT THEIR ARE SO MANY SHEEPLE, but those of us that aren't need to turn this around! Their war on terror is winning against us dammit! If we didn't feel so isolated (illusion) the fear mongers wouldn't stand a chance! Which is worse, being ignorant or to know what is going on and not DOING anything? That seems a bit cowardly to me, along with the excuses for not being active in some way, any way! We have the greatest tool ever,, THE INTERNET... lets use it before they shut it down like china

WE ARE ALL GOOD AT DOING SOMETHING. Shouldn't we be doing it for the next generation?

Good post and ideas 4Ls.  Personally, I think we are 'winning' already.  And by 'we' I mean practically everyon in this country and world who isn't a sociopath.  It's just hard to see amidzt all the clutter the hoarders in power have filled our minds with...all the seemingly totalitarian laws and burocracies they've created over the last few decades in a desperate attempt to fear us in to submission. 

But that's the hand they are left with...flaccid declorations of how they are watching you and can isolate and destroy you and your loved ones on a whim.  But they can't...sure they can do it here and there at times to 'project'...but they aren't even gutsy enough to do act (not just preach and threaten) on any large scale lest they initiate their own black swan.  They pass thuggish policies and laws and create scary sounding committees and commissions because THEY are the truly afraid...and the truly weak.  If they had all the power and control too many of us assume they they do and afford them with our acquiescence...they wouldn't be tipping their hand by relying on the 'fear card' so often.

Optimism is our bunker buddy.  And if I was going to recommend one thing people do...or don't do...to snap out of the system enduced paranoia that cripples and self isolates so many, it would be to STOP WATCHING TV NEWS!!! There is no benefit to it whatsoever.   Even when you know it's all propaganda it's too easy to think 'but I'm one of the few who realize it'.  Very few people watch it...that's just the stats of it.  Reading news...as bad as it often is similarly...allows for the comments to mediate the propaganda themes and the act of reading already encourages active engagement with the information. ..unlike TV.

1.  Prepare your mind.  What is worth risking your life for?  What is worth killing for?  What is your worst-case scenario, and what would happen to your loved ones after this occurred?  Can you survive your mental equivalent of winter in Valley Forge?

2.  Think very local.  Know your area representatives to your statehouse, know your sheriff, know and build trust with at least 2 neighbors. 

3.  Train and stockpile.  Consider how to defend your home, or how to tactically retreat from it.   Identify your nearest ally outside the home, plan a method of mustering them to your aid.  Stockpile critical supplies, and develop the skills to live beyond your emergency cache. 

4.  Make a water and energy plan.  Have your own ability to produce energy, replenish water, and purify water.     

5.  Crisis logistics - where is relative safety, and how do you get there in an emergency?  Could be a route out of the country, could be nearby mountains, could be a remotely located bunker.  Be ready to become difficult to reach via MRAP. ;)

6.  Always take the initiative.  If you perceive an imminent threat to your life or freedom that you cannot reasonably expect to evade, strike first, fast, and hard.  Put your enemy down, or at least on the defensive.

It's not any use to stand in protest but denying them income, forcing them to turn to the printing press, the counterfeiter protected under law, will cause a giant change.

We now have a "chicken little" government. The sky is always falling somewhere and the solution is always those in power attaining more of it even at the loss of personal freedoms. We have a president who quite possibly is psychologically detached from reality in such a way as to be pathological. All government actions now are based upon two premises. The sky is falling somewhere, important action must be taken, and most importantly the statistical basis on each is nothing you should concern yourself with. That is the numbers don't matter. The government we once had that functioned for a while is "Gone with the wind". What we now have is a social media scare the bejesus out of as many as we can crown herding attempt over and over again. Fear is one of the most basic emotions, and once you tap into it, if you're smart, you can control so many people if you're less than truthful about what we as a nation and people truly should be fearful about. Imagine that. the authority to create fear and direct it where you think it should go to get what you want. That is our government now and it's not likely to change any time soon. Clearly under that guise we must watch for home grown free thinkers. Oh, I mean terrorists. Caution intellectuals, this is a new phase. The worm has turned and now certain thoughts must be crushed in order to maintain control of the masses. As for me. From my cold dead hands, motherfucker.

Re: that video.  Things like this happen all the time and the DOJ always backs the local LE agencies.  The concept of qualified immunity [a license to kill without consequences] is respected all the way to the top.

The last time the Feds got involved in a high-profile way was after the Rodney King beating.  The police unions and the law-enforcement agencies have spent the last twenty years pushing through rules that give blanket protection to police officers.  All they must do is utter the magic phrase, "I felt my life was in danger because the perp scowled at me so I shot that motherfucker in the back four times....."

Heard this several times now on the TeeVee: a guy threatens another with a gun (last instance was in my neck of the woods where a guy pulled a gun on his neighbor), and he is arrested on "attempted murder and terrorism." "Terrorism"? See how they sneak in the charge where it doesn't belong. Drip... Drip... Drip...

The downside of the government promoting fear is that, as it takes progressive hold, more & more Americans are buying as many guns, and as much ammo, as they can.

 

So then the government has to mount two other campaigns: one to demonize & eventually confiscate guns; and the other to purchase as much ammo as possible for themselves so that we will have a hard time getting any.  Their ammo will come in handy for the government's imminent shooting war against its citizens, at least.
