Ukraine Closes 8 Border Crossings On Reports Of Russian Troop Movement

Tyler Durden's picture

On the eve of Obama and Putin coming face-to-face on the beaches in Normandy, tensions appear to be re-escalating in the south and east of Ukraine. As Ukrainian forces continue their "anti-terrorist" operations, newly 'elected' President Poroshsenko is steppung up the protection of his sovereignty:

  • *UKRAINE CLOSES 8 BORDER CROSSINGS WITH RUSSIA
  • *POROSHENKO: 'TERRORISTS' BEING SENT INTO UKRAINE TO SOW CHAOS

There is a great deal of chatter about Russian troop movements into Ukraine with " major accusations today that small units of well-armed militants, some of whom are traveling in armored vehicles, are crossing the Russian border and engaging in firefights with Ukrainian border guards." As if that was not enough, there are now reports that the Chief of Poroshenko's presidential campaign administration has died after an assassination attack in Nemirov city.

Ukraine's government has stated on its website that...

  • Seven checkpoints in Luhansk closed, 1 in Donetsk region “to ensure civil security,”

Following talk of Russian troop movements... Via InterpreterMag,

There are major accusations today that small units of well-armed militants, some of whom are traveling in armored vehicles, are crossing the Russian border and engaging in firefights with Ukrainian border guards.

...

Now, Tymchuk reports that 1 APC, 4 Kamaz trucks mounted with heavy machineguns, 3 minibuses and 4 cars filled with militants have all crossed the border near the Marinovka checkpoint, north of Lugansk.

Meanwhile, this video claims to show several Russian BTR armored vehicles racing toward the Ukrainian border to the south, near Rostov on Don and racing toward Amvroseyevka. While the video has not been verified, the topography matches (as does the weather report), but the date is not confirmed. The problem is that, months ago, when large amounts of Russian troops were on the move, there were many eyewitness reports and videos. Two vehicles, or smaller convoys, moving on major highways, might pass witnesses by before they have the chance to video the vehicles. In other words, these claims are very hard to prove, or disprove.

The reports of Russian troops and vehicles crossing the border have not been independently verified, but the frequency of those claims over the last few days has been alarming, and coincides with a sudden surge in separatist military assaults, and victories.

The Ukrainian government appears to be losing control of the border, which means that the flood of Russian fighters across the border may be unstoppable at this moment without a significant change in fortune for the Ukrainian military.

And then news of Poroshenko's election campaign manager being killed...

Head of the election headquarters of presidential candidate of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in one area of the Vinnitsa region was found murdered in Nemiroff.

"Fifth June, about half of the first body of a man with a gunshot wound to the head found in the cabin of his own car on a street Nemirova. Given the evidence, the Investigation Department officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vinnytsia region opened criminal proceedings on the grounds of an offense under article" Intentional murder "of the Criminal Code of Ukraine", - the " Interfax referring to the site of MIA of Ukraine.

Perfect timing for US equities to hit all new record highs... as Russia and Ukraine look set to actually come to blows...

At the same time I know Putin is far from ideal (and he maybe needs to do less of the bareback riding for the cameras), he gets my vote over the fudgepacker hole-in-one golfer in chief and his caddy Cameron any day. You just cannot believe a single word out of those fuckers mouths, plus if they are puppets for TPTB, I just prefer to root for the 'little' guy hoping he'll fuck it up for them. I actually hope for a ruskie-sino tag team to kick shit out of Obozo and Cams (bringing down the EU in the process) but shit, we all have our little dreams XD. Don't get me wrong, I don't want millions killed in unnecessary war or anything, but it looks like their plans are gonna take us down that road come what may. The empire is immensely evil and is run by people who are immensely stupid.  The sooner it ends, the better for humanity.  The Russian leadership has become a serious obstacle towards imperial expansion.  Someone who enjoys watching the empire bluster and fail is not necessarily expressing a desire to be a serf in a different empire.

In short: I can enjoy the schadenfreude without endorsing the cause.

You're a decent person, and you've managed to see through a good part of the bullshit that has kept most Americans absolutely mesmerised their entire lives. That's better than a lot of people on both counts. Seriously.

You understand that the Federal Reserve is a private bank, that The Market® is a rigged casino, that the news media are paid scriptreaders, and that every single event, action, and utterance in Vichy DC is an element of a well choreographed lie.

All I can say is oh my fuck! How is it possible that, despite all this, you still swallow the spoonfed official narrative when it comes to the Ukraine and/or Putin? That's a huge fucking blind spot.

Do you really think Putin or Russia had anything at all to do with the death of Pedro Pachinko's campaign manager?! That defies all sense. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by doing so. Nothing.

Pedro Pachinko's campaign manager was killed by, or at the behest of, the CIA. You know that as well as I do. Uncle Sam wants t make sure that there is no chance for any kind of reconciliation between Ukraine and Russia after the new Ukrainian president is inaugurated. Uncle Sam murdered the campaign manager as a way of poisoning the well.

Uncle Sam is a thug.

Ukraine soon will be Russian again.

Ukraine soon will want to be Russian again. Good luck with that, though, because as the article below explains, Russia doesn't see Ukraine as a prize, but a huge burden.

Reports of fighting in Odessa floating around the interweb now.

My guess is that Odessa is about to become the focal point.  If Russia gets Odessa then the rest of the south / east Ukraine will likely follow within a few months.  They'll leave Kiev the rest (including Chernobyl..... of course).

Question is:  will NATO step up to bat here and make a war out of this little scuffle.   Shur would come in handy right about now.............

Of course the effectiveness of the feux art of mass distraction is decreasing by the minute now.   They'll have to ramp this sucker up to 11 to get anyone's attention.

No they won't.

Because they were never interesting in investing in Ukraine except where they could see a benefit to themselves.

The main danger is the opportunities Putin's assertionism provides to a wide array of powerful people.

- The Eurocrats can easily cause an escalation in any Russian military intervention, such that other neighbors borders are crossed, whether because of provocation or by way of false flag. It doesn't matter which. Once everyone is afraid of being invaded Eurocrat power is likely to grow as people band together for security. That's a possible answer to EuroSkeptics.

- The US & Euro Bankers are insolvent. Any rational person can see it. War kills rationality, and has been the primary fall-back of regimes in financial trouble. The bankers would bet that people will ignore their hands in the public's pockets if they think the loot is being pooled for their defense.

- Each of the superpowers, both established (US & Euro) and rising (Russia, China) see an opportunity to eliminate rivals.

Russians! Quit beating your chests! No one wins in a war!

Yes,

But the Russians are suffering from SEBLS (Sudden Erection Brain Loss Syndrome) and falling for the evil fucks' plans.

Hell, even PCR is falling for it. Essentially he is busy providing justification to Russia for why they need a pre-emptive war against the West.

Never mind that US Nukes have been so well secured that 80 year old protesters have been able to get to them. Or that the arsenal has been rotting away with expiring half-lives while Russia was expanding their own.

Nope. We must ignore that. Because if the Washington Government is a center of concentrated evil (which it is) then surely, SURELY, the Russian government are good guys fully deserving to be sanctified with SaintHood.

I am sure that Putin is on the phone with Kiril arranging for Icons of himself and his friends to be placed in every Orthodox church as we speak...

The irony is that if they hated the evil Western Oligarchs as much as we in the West do, they would understand that they only need to buy Gold. Tactical patience will provide the opportunities for Western Locals to set right their own Body Politic.

Unless, they actually wanted something different than to simply be rid of the evil Western Oligarchs.

As far as I can see, Putin and the Putinites have done nothing to earn trust and belief. It looks more like they simply want to take over the Western Banker scam.

"... No one wins in a war!"

Yes. There are winners. Your phrase, while certainly well meaning in intent, is just as wrong as 'Crime doesn't pay.'

No.

No one wins in a war. A war is pure destruction. Been there. Done that.

And crime doesn't pay. It LOOTS and there is a difference.

It is just that the people who think these things focus so much on one point of droplet of gain that they fail to see the WHOLE OCEAN of adverse consequences.

Milton best described them when speaking for the Devil in Paradise Lost, "Better to reign in Hell, then serve in Heav'n".

They measure wealth not in absolute terms, but compared to the next guy.

So the thug who kills his neighbor to steal his grain harvest, thinks he is rich as he watches his neighbor's family die. And he just can't understand what happened the next winter as he begins to starve.

"reign in Hell" INDEED!

Judging by the outcry against the U.S. getting involved in Syria this will be a "dark pools" war with the U.S. sending supplies and mercenaries but nothing "official".

NATO weakness is inherent in that, Russia can send in volunteers by the thousands and they speak the local language and can melt in.  NATO has no effective native speakers it can send in that are capable fighters.  The western ukes have not shown themselves to be effective fighters by staying home and out of the military.  The trap that NATO hoped would catch Russia might well enough spring back on them.

Hungary has called for ethnic rights of Hungarians in its border region with hungary, that is 200K people.  In this land grab with a weak central Ukraine govt what are the temptations for Hungary to get back its pre WW2 lands now part of Ukraine.  Or Romania for that matter of fact.  This can potentially set off NATO members infighting amongst themselves and can unravel quickly.

It will be very interesting in the days ahead.  Perhaps in the same manner in which the west did the little surprise move on Russia with the coup during the Olympic Games in Sochi.  Maybe now the Russians have a LITTLE D-DAY ceremony SURPRISE for the West ;)

So-what-chi?

Oh, yes. Ukraine was certainly an well integrated operation that was planned specifically for culmination to coincide with Sochi Olympics. At least 300,000,000 American's didn't watch them! Which makes it a perfect target, of course.

Because the West had demonstrated the highest efficiency and foresight with Ukraine interventions so far!

I am sure there was a CIA agent with traffic flags waiting on the road to Yanukovich's private airport, to stop traffic JUST IN TIME for the opening ceremony!

And surely there was an FBI agent standing at every street corner, checklist in hand, to make sure it all went according to schedule!

Alternatively, you might actually be Russian. Because no one but Russia was really all that emotionally involved in the Sochi Olympics. Seems like there is an Olympics most every year, these days. No build-up of anticipation at all... Unless you are in Russia who last hosted one in 1980.

Also, JUST POSSIBLY every activity in the world is NOT a plot against Russia.

And possibly the fact that Washington is full of evil assholes doesn't mean the population of the Kremlin have breakfast with Christ and tea with mother Teresa.

More were watching the World Cup Soccer Matches in Japan, that didnt stop the USA from giving their Georgian puppet the green light to shell civillians (kind of like what we see again here in Ukraine)  Someday I hope the city you live in Gets Shelled John.

Because the West had demonstrated the highest efficiency and foresight with Ukraine interventions so far!

Sure is efficient getting hundreds of women and children killed with shelling of their homes by saying you won't get our IMF dollars until to bomb them into submission, preferrably dead.

I am sure there was a CIA agent with traffic flags waiting on the road to Yanukovich's private airport, to stop traffic JUST IN TIME for the opening ceremony!

I hear Nuland and the candy oligarch dude gave tons of cookies chocolate and bullets to the right sector dudes in Kiev who were firing guns in the beginning at unarmed riot police.  Then I hear she said Fuck the EU athletes during the Olympics while she had her own sniper olympics contest going on in a competing Nuland Shooting Games in kiev.

And surely there was an FBI agent standing at every street corner, checklist in hand, to make sure it all went according to schedule!

More than that, they had an NGO office fully staffed at every street corner wiseguy.

The fact that you didn't know they mostly ignored it means you lied about being from the West.

Welcome to politics Eastern European style.

When the US signed up to involve itself, it clearly didn't understand the context.

Nothing in Ukraine is better. Everything in the Ukraine is worse.

Europe doesn't have those alternate suppliers in Kazakhstan via the BAKU pipeline that were supposed to use the Ukraine pipelines, nor the ones in Qatar.

The Gulf Princes don't have their expanded European contracts delivering through Nabucco.

And now every atrocity that happens in Ukraine will be a badge of shame to the US.

What is really, really puzzling, is that Putin gets no responsibility for anything that HE does in the Ukraine. He's more popular than ever in Russia. And people who criticize him get attacked both by their neighbors and by official agencies.

That is not a good sign.

But who am I to criticize? Totalitarianism is so popular that even the "Home of the Free and the Brave" has adopted it.

And apparently, it is unacceptable in society to have no favorites and condemn them all.

Indeed for tanks, Russian bearings seem to work very well.  I am not qualified to discuss Russian bearings in military equipment, that is beyond my scope (we sell automotive bearings).

Timken (the USA´s only large bearing company) will not sell to us, they seem to be happy enough with their distribution here in Peru.

So, we "dance with who brung us": Asia.  And we are doing very well.  Russian bearings in the automotive replacement bearing market have an approximately 0% share.  No one in Peru wants them.  Even at a low price.  They prefer Chinese at the low end (vs. Russian).

Nor do I have a problem with Putin!  I understand that Russia likes their leaders strong, and Russia has been over-run by enemies for centuries.

400 Greystone mercenaries and countless CIA and FBI agents were sent by the Nobel Prize Winner to spread sweetness and light in Ukraine.

http://rt.com/news/158212-academi-blackwater-ukraine-military/

Hundreds of US mercenaries are directing the repression of pro-Russian protesters in eastern Ukraine by the fascist forces of the NATO puppet regime in Kiev, according to German media reports.

They are employed by the firm previously known as Blackwater, a massive private military contracting firm founded by former US Navy SEAL Erik Prince. The firm was renamed Xe in 2009 and then Academi in 2011, trying to evade the infamy attached to its original name due to its massacres of civilians in US-occupied Iraq.

They are now coordinating the attacks by the fascist Right Sector militia, the Kiev regime’s National Guard, and groups of football hooligans that have led to hundreds of casualties across east Ukraine.

This information was communicated to the office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other top German officials on April 29

I actually had a Russian relative of mine tell me how he personally saw the Chechens training Right Sector when he visited Ukraine a few months ago.

He then went on a tirade about how the Chechens were under the control of the US and CIA.

He was totally unaware that the Chechens are one of the Taliban's main supporters in Afghanistan, and are frequently amongst the killed in Al Qaeda camps and occasionally amongst the Taliban.

And he had no explanation when I asked why he thought they were working with the US other than that he'd heard it on channel 1.

Bullets don't really seem to me to be a declaration of fidelity and devotion, and dying from them doesn't really seem to me to be a declaration of support.

And many Russians seem unwilling to recognize that they've caused their own problems with the Chechens, much like the US has with the Pakistanis.

Saddam's fiasco had to do with US giving him weapons to fight Russia and him turning right around and invading Kuwait.

USSR was nearly bankrupt under its own weight when in Afghanistan. Bin Laden was just becoming a figure in the Middle East - a rich kid with a grudge and, likewise, Western support. The implosion of the USSR made him and his followers actually believe the myth that their country was the graveyard of civilizations. So next they turned their guns on America.

Blowbacks left and right.

In Ukraine the neo-Nazi's that helped get rid of pro-Russian puppet nearly destroyed every western puppet as well, so the leaders were quickly executed following the coup. Still, Ukraine lost control. The Gaz Queen timoshenko lost to Chocolate King Poroshenko who's an open agent. He's a local oligarch, whose loyalty goes to the highest bidder.

Unintended consequences are inevitable.

So far the West had gained a marginally better leader in exchange for 3 territories, $5bn CIA money, $17bn IMF money, and $1bn US taxpayer cash. That is a piss poor deal. So, the US and the EU will be throwing more resources. Russia will play its game. So far it has seen nothing but gains. Going forward it looks the only country that will be a definite loser in this situation is the Ukraine. They're being manipulated by agenda setters on both sides into killing eachother.

I feel sorry for the Ukrainians - for every person killed in this conflict.

US and British mercs? Fuck'em! Fuck every side who's in it for the money!

>>>Timoshenko lost to Chocolate King Poroshenko

"Chocolate King" is a cutesy, misleading handle. The Poroshenkos, father and son, are Ukraine's "Drug and Prostitution Kings".  And that's cool.

Saying that Poroshenko is the Chocolate King is like saying the Mafia owns restaurants.

Your comprehension skills suck.

There has been more than enough informational post here that you should have got it that

there exist a small minority of Radicalized western/Saudi supported WAHABI sect extreme

radicals Chechen/Dagestan.

I alone have posted enough on this that if you cared for facts you could have researched

for yourself.

I suggest you should be at Kavkaz Center, not ZH.

.

Before being transferred to the Ukraine, they must have been working with the "good" Al Qaeda in Syria. You know, the freedom fighter moderate Al Qaeda that Vichy DC is funding and training.

No,

They are adopting a new version of Shinto.

It is called Pinto.

In it Putin is God.

You might want to be careful with your Pinto.

And well...

Obama...

And well.

See?

There you go.

Be careful with that.

Did RT actually lift a report from the World Socialist Web Site and re-post it as if it were from a credible source?

So... there are at least 30,000,000 Ukrainians with cell phone cameras. Give us a picture.

So, you guys are saying that the WORLD SOCIALIST WEB SITE is a credible source?

Really?

Good luck with that.

There are at least 30 million Ukranians with cell phone cameras.

Is a photo too much to ask?

Then again, I am talking - mocking actually - people who presented a video THEY POSTED with a picture of missiles in the air while an explosion sounded and saying that THOSE PARTICULAR missiles (still in the air on camera during explosion) caused the explosion.

Wait!
Let me guess!
The missiles reached 88 MPH, right?

The only thing worse than propaganda is INCOMPETENT propaganda!

Johnsy

I mentioned that point in an earlier post, the explosion and the car alarms going off

at the same time as the missiles were in the air. n all of the videos the sound of the car

alarms is the only thing that is consistent, marry up the rest of the footage to the sound

of the car alarms, just sayin...

And yes i'm downed all the time.

Yes.

How would Johnny Cochrane have put it?

"If the missile's in the air you can't have flare!"

And that doesn't prove that the explosions were not caused by OTHER missiles.

But it does prove that we're being fed a propaganda piece.

That's very likely.   Closing the checkpoints won't make the millions of Russians who already live in Ukraine suddenly love their new coup leaders, which is the actual problem.
