Las Vegas Cop Killers Linked To Bundy Ranch Militia; Raged "It's Time To Wake Up."

Tyler Durden's picture

Yesterday's shooting in Las Vegas drew media attention for a number of reasons but perhaps of most note was the chilling comments and premeditation involved. As WaPo reports, Jerad and Amanda Miller simultaneously executed two Las Vegas police officers in a pizza restaurant as the officers ate lunch; and then Jerad Miller covered the dead officers with a Gadsden flag and put a manifesto with a swastika on one of the officers’ bodies. However, as the hours since the disaster go by, more details of the couple have been exposed including Jared's anti-government video-rant below, "Sounds a little like Nazi Germany to me, or maybe Communist Russia... Really, people? It’s time to wake up. It’s getting ridiculous." Comments on his Facebook page also indicated he would be a "martyr" and asked for "the death a hero deserves." However, potentially most interesting is Interior Secretary Sally Jewell noting that the two may have joined militiamen from around the country at Cliven Bundy’s ranch earlier this year.

As WaPo reports,

Interior Secretary Sally Jewell on Monday highlighted news reports that said two apparent white supremacists who shot and killed three people in Las Vegas on Sunday may have joined militiamen from around the country at Cliven Bundy’s ranch earlier this year.

Asked by reporters at the Western Governors Association’s annual meeting here about the Interior Department’s approach to Bundy, Jewell said two police officers in Las Vegas were “gunned down by people that news reports say were also at the Bundy ranch.”

On Sunday, Jerad and Amanda Miller simultaneously executed two Las Vegas police officers in a pizza restaurant as the officers ate lunch, police officials told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Jerad Miller covered the dead officers with a Gadsden flag and put a manifesto with a swastika on one of the officers’ bodies.

The Millers went to Bundy’s ranch, about 80 miles outside of Las Vegas, in April, they said on social media sites. But the militiamen shunned the couple because Jerad Miller had prior felony convictions in Washington State. Jerad Miller’s last note, posted on a social media site about seven hours before the shooting, read: “The dawn of a new day. May all our coming sacrifice be worth it.”

And here is Jared Miller's video rant...

Jerad Miller rant by aaron-gell

And from his facebook page...

Of course, what makes us wonder aloud is whether this "provocation" by a Bundy-ite as he is represented, will be sufficient to reignite the drama surrounding the Bundy ranch.

"Don’t forget that the word “Bundy” is the key to the racist attacks encouraged by this government and if any activity can be labeled “Bundy” it is used as justification to find guilty the entire white race."

Clearly you cannotl.

Bundy was a failed poster-child.  Ralllying around someone as some sort of messiah is a really stupid thing.  If there really had been firmn footing then they'd all still be there in support: support was dropped because support for Bundy was a bad idea to beging with.  A perfect example of why I'd never sign up to any groups (every group want to rule the world).

White Supremacists... blah blah.  I will bet good money this was no random act of "revolution" by neo-nazis (all those guys are on Nuland´s payroll in the Ukraine).  I will bet those 2 police victims were not "random" either.  I would be willing to bet that one of them was the arresting officer on this guy´s drug charge or had been harassing him as a local "suspect" in whatever the crime of the week was.  This has revenge written all over it.

I am happy to see the media has already completely explained that this was domestic terrorism, politically motivated, white supremacists, militias... if only the guy had been a vet, the media could really go to town attacking the political opposition.  And that is how they do it.  That is what most people will remember from this event.  The true story we will find from some internet site 2 weeks from now when someone uncovers that these cops and that nut had a personal connection.

Just because someone doesn't appear to be doing something doesn't mean that they are not.  Applying energies that TPTB cannot harness does FAR more than applying energies in direct opposition (which only presents them with an opportunity to crank up the propaganda dial to a higher notch).

When you read the man's Facebook post you can detect the same style of thinking that is present, to a greater or lesser degree, throughout almost the entire culture. It is style of thinking that transcends political divisions, socio-economic divisions, and even our basic, inarticulate sense of "good guys and bad guys." It is the archetype of the justified terrorist, and it is endemic in our society.

At least two generations of Americans have been raised and educated to believe that John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry was an heroic act. He, too, hoped to precipitate a slve revolt and "wake up the sheeple." And he, too, was lauded as a great man by future generations. We don't even want to begin discussing how these ideas are exacerbated and cross-fertilized by the historiography of the American revolution itself, the countercultural movements of the '60s and '70s, and the Hollywood dramatizations of these events; for if we started down that path we would never finish.

It is no wonder to me John Brown has self-conscious imitators in the modern age when we are constantly bombarded with the message that the way to make an impact on history is to resist "tyranny" with any means available, including individual unlawful violence. This is the price we pay for thinking of ourselves as an exceptional people and for not addressing the problems in our politics and culture at the fundamental level.

It is time we reevaluated those notions.

"This is the price we pay for thinking of ourselves as an exceptional people and for not addressing the problems in our politics and culture at the fundamental level."

At the fundamental level we can ask how we can operate as a society without growth.  Necessary would be to understand simple math and the fact that the planet IS finite and that therefore so too are resources.  Such a realization isn't likely going to lead to to any short-term stability, that's for sure, and the loss of existing stability is likely to be so unstabilizing that there would be no recovery to any pre-existing System.

Blatant false flags until people who have nothing left to lose choose to get violent against their masters; the masters send in the MRAPS; the people rise up and 'they' get the societal crumble they need to get rid of that pesky Constitution once and for all.  It boggles my mind that we are actually watching the beginning.

Sure, there's PLENTY of injustice and oppression in America, a growing amount of it on the part of the police - but sane people don't start shooting cops because of this worsening state of affairs in America. These two wackos had clearly convinced themselves (conveniently) that they were on a 'holy' mission - so what? That's what radical Islamic homicide bombers think, too.

PSYCHOTIC ASSHOLES like this will ruin it for sincere and genuine dissenters who are really trying to make the country better by voicing intelligent opposition to the wrongs and injustices going on, and who are at the same time living decent and reputable lives, setting the example of what a good citizen should be.

Now, the likes of Harry Reid et al will have every damn excuse to radically ratchet-up surveillance and oppression, using these two stems as an illustration of how our national security is increasingly at risk.

Way to go, you S.F.B.'s !!!

Here is an interesting persective that I came across:

People say the officers were 'simply eating lunch' and so this was a clear cut case of murder. I could not disagree more. Those officers were merely taking a short break from the aggressions all police commit day in, and day out. Immediately after they got done with their break, they would inevitably have returned to their regular duties of harassing and extorting motorists, and kidnapping people for possessing plants. They paid for their food, with money that was taken from people under the threats of violence that are taxation, and fines.

That sort of anarchist manichaenism makes no sense to me. There are good people (as well as bad ones) who serve as police officers and soldiers. There's nothing wrong with the concept of outsourcing security to members of society who specialize in developing and maintaining those skills. The problem is the overall society in which these functions are embedded and which perverts their goals.

Yes, you can't have a healthy system of law enforcement in a sick society, but that doesn't mean the whole concept is evil.

Well have you heard of the non-aggression principle? It says in essence that it is not legitimate to initiate aggression toward another person for any reason.

So, if you don't pay the traffic ticket, they send you a threatening letter. If you ignore the letter, you get a court order to appear, delivered (let's say) by a law enforcer. If you choose to decline the order, he will force you. If you resist, he will kill you.

So is it starting to make sense yet? Aggression is not legitimate.

Violence is the State. The State is violence. Eschew violence. Choose instead a civilised society.

BadLibertarian's picture

I have, and the non-agression principle is a fine notion, but a poor basis for governing a society made up of actual human beings unless there is an organized way of enforcing it. Anarchy, like Communism, is great on paper, but not so great when implemented in the real world.

For those who naturally excel at violence, anarchy is a playground which is easily turned to tyranny.

"The State" isn't an actual thing - it's just people. "The State" doesn't kill people - people kill people. So in order to get rid of "The State," you have to get rid of people. Which doesn't seem like a workable or desirable solution.

The underlying problem is group size. Put together a group of people who aren't Dunbar-connected, and it doesn't matter if you pick anarchy, democracy, monarchy, fascism, etc. - things will start out okay in the beginning but almost immediately become corrupted and tilted to the advantage of the group members who are less bothered (or not bothered at all) by exploiting other members of the group.

Size is the problem, not organizational structure.

"The State" isn't an actual thing - it's just people. "The State" doesn't kill people - people kill people.

while I agree with you that "The State" is a legal fiction that humans tend to "believe in" or rarely, see through - the State is responsible for killing people, via co-opting those people who kill people on behalf of, "The State".

dead humans are dead humans - and nationstates are an historical vehicle for killing humans in very large numbers.

but sure, if people didn't volunteer to kill for money, on behalf of "The State" - well, where would we be in the world. . .

Tue, 06/10/2014 - 00:06 | 4839566 BadLibertarian
BadLibertarian's picture

Humans are social animals, so we will always group together into different factions which have different goals and world views, even at smaller scales where a "faction" might simply be a family.

At larger scales, we call these groups organizations or corporations, and organizations of people have certain things in common, be they political, commercial, criminal, religious, etc. They tend to be hierarchically organized, they tend to promote certain behaviors and discourage others via the spreading of memes (some of which are true and some, not so much), and they tend to diffuse responsibility so that bad behavior against individuals outside of the organization, or in large organization, against those who are far below the level of the leadership, is easier to stomach.

The larger and more powerful the organization is, the more harm it can do - nation states, as you pointed out, being a particularly lethal example in our recent history, with religious groups having doing their worst work in the more distant past.

Because we are social animals, I don't believe we will ever stop joining together in groups, so the best I think we can hope for is to limit group size so that we do the least amount of harm to one other when our paths and interests cross.

Ok we are not communicating here. A poor basis for governing? Who says I need to be "governed." Are you a puppy dog? Do you need a leash? I don't.

Then, you say we need an "organized way of enforcing" the non-aggression principle? What we don't need is an organized way of enforcing non-enforcement.

Now I understand your handle, BadLibertarian, because you're pretty bad at this. Nothing personal, I'm just sayingthat you need to start actually reading Rothbard. I recommend you start with "Anatomy of the State." You're a bright guy, you can probably finish it in an afternoon. I think you can get it for free on vonmises.org; after that, try Bastiat's "The Law." I promise if you do those two small books (more like pamphlets really), you will never be the same and your logical fallcies will disappear like a sandcastle slipping into the sea of slipshod statism.

Mars, don't worry about it. You're not the first anarchist libertarian who has recommended Rothbard, Spooner, von Mises, etc. to me. I've done my homework.

My point was that no governing political or economic philosophy - anarchy, monarchy, democracy, capitalism, communism, etc., etc., etc. is stable within a large group of humans. Because of our nature, over time, if the group is too large, we get tyranny.

And if the group is small enough, then literally any of those governing systems will work.

It's not the scheme that's the issue - it's the group size.

Anarchy can work - but only in a small group. Communism can work - but only in a small group.

This is the piece that libertarian thinkers don't seem to address or understand. The system is irrelevant*,  it's the scale that matters.

*Irrelevant for the most part, e.g., capitalism makes no sense in small groups and eventually destroys large ones.

One of the main NRA sayings is that guns don't kill people, people kill people.  It's pretty clear that this applies to 'insane people' and not to the average NRA member -- but there is a lot of momentum on the side of the anti-gun lobby right now to pass something to stop the insane people from killing (at least with guns).  Rather than fight this movement, it would make more sense for the NRA to embrace it - afterall, who is in favor of insane people owning guns!  By embracing it, the NRA could then help steer the legislation's main issue - 'who is insane'?  Providing that protection to the average 'sane' gun owner would make a lot more sense than trying to fight a battle to protect the rights of insane people to own guns.  You can see the same thing in the MSM linking these two insane people to the militia members.  The problem isn't militia members - it is still, and always, insane people.

Let's look at the last two high-profile shootings:  In Isla Vista, the NRA's plan would have prevented Rodger from getting a gun, your plan, not so much.  Don't have all the details from Vegas yet, but given the fact the guy was a convicted felon, HE WASN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE A GUN.

So, when will this story fall apart?

Elements of the government are best known for causing violence and then framing it on people so as to try to create populist support for their agenda. Why should this be any different?

IMO, it is less likely that the mainstream media is telling the truth than this was done by so called "white supremicists" who were at the Bundy Ranch. It makes no sense for real people to randomly attack others, even police ... so it must therefore be the government that is murdering its own for their own purpose.

Notice how quickly these people were tagged with labels that suits the government agenda.

My understanding is that this duo was kicked off the Bundy property.

Jessica Anderson, the suspects’ neighbor, told the Review-Journal that they admitted to being kicked off Cliven Bundy’s ranch during his standoff with the Bureau of Land Management.

I guess this is why police forces across the nation (except South Dakota, oddly) are being armed for war as another article here states, eh?

It all just seems a little TOO convenient though.

As I said previously, you can see some curiosity here.

Maybe a devious plot to demonize ranchers by associating them with murderers. This is an obvious, malicioius ploy on the part of a Communist re-distributionist who never worked a day in his life, whose nationality has never been determined, and who is showing signs of megalomania.

We may be past the meglomania stage.

The two killers were convicted felons. How did they acquire weapons? Not at a dealer. Unless the chick was clean and was a straw-buyer.

Again, the Bundy folks declined their 'assistance.' No more needs to be said on that subject.

Hell, they could have been jacked up on crank and gone wild after watching Tarantino's Natural Born Killers.

On the June 9 edition of the Alex Jones Show, Alex covers the recent shooting in Las Vegas and theorizes that in an attempt to demonize the freedom movement, the mainstream media is now trying to link yesterday's shooting in Las Vegas to the unrelated Bundy Ranch standoff. The shooting follows the June 3 announcement by the Justice Department stating that it will reorganize a "domestic terrorism" task force.

Can you get any more obvious, Gadsden + swastika. How banal. Seems like target audience for this stupid theater is primarily cops. Otherwise they would have hit some women and children. Holder, Reid et al have been in heat to shift terrorism policy toward domestic targets. I think they are too stupid to play the long game, so what I want to know is who is pulling the strings here.

It is quite curious these two stepped onstage on cue right after the remarks of the Just Us Department.

They were headed in this direction all by themselves. Is it impossible they were 'encouraged' by a 'friend?'

No.

Oh wait... False Flag... False Flag... Alex Jones must know the real story.

Even the gun not losers at the Bundy ranch could sense trouble from them. The remaining Bundy ranch goofballs are just slightly saner but clearly capable of this sort of madness.

"Their posts on Facebook sometimes threatened violence, and last month, Mr. Miller used the website to ask people to send him “a rifle to help stand against tyranny.” Neighbors said Mr. Miller talked incessantly to anyone who would listen about the evils of welfare or President Obama. He worked as a street performer, and would often dress as Batman or the Joker; Ms. Miller would sometimes accompany him dressed as the villain Harley Quinn."  (sounds a lot like a Zero Hedge contributor)

Oh, by the way. There was a "law abiding" citizen with a concealed firearm ready to take out the bad guys...

They promptly crossed the street to a Walmart, where Mr. Miller fired a single shot and continued shouting about revolution to terrified shoppers. One man at the checkout area who was carrying a handgun tried to stop Mr. Miller, but did not notice that Ms. Miller was working in concert with her husband; she shot the man dead.

So much for the NRA concept of arming everyone to "take out the bad guys"... gee, do you think that nuts intending to commit suicide have any fear of "law-abiding citizens" with concealed firearms?

Get the whole story here-

Was Miller not chased away from the Bundy Ranch by the militia because he was wanting violence? Is this Millers way to get revenge on the Militia? Leave the Gadsen flag as a revenge, what has this flag to do with white KKK? I think this is Miller getting his own back from being chased from the Bundy ranch.

The Conceal carrier shot him and brought the shoot out to an end quickly.

Having investigated these types a long time ago, before cops were the new army, I would conclude the 'militia' did the correct move in declining their assistance. It is not impossible these two went south after their 'comrades' declined their help.

Also, just one item, to state the only answer at this point is gunfire is dead wrong. A government is a huge beast, rolling along on its own inertia. To change its direction takes time and patience. It takes involved people.

And, for those who may be mad I investigated these guys in the day, it was my concern that hot-headed types did more harm than good. Having dealt wit them undercover, I found some were just hotheads looking for a fight- any fight.

Now, the Dick Act of 1902 provides for a citizen militia. It cannot be repealed.

Point being, one cannot assume the authority to kill a peace officer on his own declaration. I would advise the general militia members to spend more time with the Law and less with guns, but keep those weapons ready just the same. Like The Founders, your salvation depends on God and a thorough study of Law.

Good points.

The Militia at the Bundy stand-off probably thought Miller was a Fed plant, agent provocateur. It would be interesting if  Miller and partner could be tied back to Harry Reid in some way, being from Nevada.

The Militia are mainly made up of ex LEO and Veterans so they know the law and th correct methods of acting in situations like the Bundy stand off hence the BLM backing off from the confrontation.

LIBTARD MEDIA HOWEVER SEIZES ON THE OPPORTUNITY TO PAINT THE MILITIA MOVEMENT with the psycho brush...

the real psychos are in wash dc... as is the second benedict arnold...

FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE US CONSTITUTION the local sheriff is the ONLY AUTHORIZED law enforcement in a Bundy like scenario... the BLM was an illegal armed force in that case... and that plus the fact that Harry Reid's dirty BLM land deals were going to be exposed is why the standoff ended...

The problem in Nevada for the feds is that in direct violation of the constitution, when Nevada gained statehood, the feds never relinquished the Fed land to the state of Nevada. Hence there is a Constitutional issue of which the Feds violated the law at statehood.
