FBI Opens Criminal Probe Into Phoenix VA Scandal
Just when the administration thought they had thrown enough people under the bus and the news cycle had moved on to Bergdahl (how did that work out?), WSJ reports:

FBI Director James Corney says that the Phoenix office of the FBI has opened a criminal investigation into the VA scandal, adding that "We're working with the VA IG and we'll follow it wherever the facts take us." We are yet to hear what the over/under on 'pleading da fifs', but we suspect it will be high.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened a criminal investigation into allegedly misleading scheduling practices at the Department of Veterans Affairs that may have concealed how long veterans had to wait for appointments to see a doctor.
"Our Phoenix office has opened a criminal investigation,'' FBI Director James Comey said in response to a lawmaker's question at a hearing Wednesday before the House Judiciary Committee.
Previously, officials had acknowledged the Justice Department is reviewing documents provided by the VA inspector general to see if any potential crimes were committed. The opening of a criminal probe takes that work a step further.
"We're working with the VA IG and we'll follow it wherever the facts take us,'' Mr. Comey said.

Shitty VA hopitals with roaches, etc have been reported so many time sin the past and zero was done about it. Glad to see there is a possibility of cleaning those places up. Start by replacing most of the administrators with outside people. Gubmint union or no union fire them. Say it's in the name of national security.
Dismantle the VA medical system completely. The government couldn't run an ass wiping farm if they had to.
Provide veterans with vouchers to see providers in their hometowns such as doctors and hospitals.
For those that need more advanced care allow veterans to travel where needed.

What is more likely to happen, would be that the VA-model of government health care will be exposed. Too many patients for the available resources, and the ability of the patients to access health care as many times as they want at little or no cost. Kind of like the ObamaCare model... Or the HillaryCare model.... And all of this on top of a personnel system that makes it difficult or impossible to create efficiencies within the government run hospitals.

Don't hear much about why the scandal occurred in the first place.
Think about it - it is highly doubtful that across the entire VA system, many, many independent managers of facilities across the US all decided to do the exact same scheduling bullshit, entice others to cover it up ON THEIR OWN, without coordination or guidance.
The IRS scandal was the same - highly unlikely that low level people would all collude together for some larger goal without help and guidance from those above them and in other areas of govt. At least in the IRS there was no personal benefit either.
It is my opinion that both events were triggered by elections and completely driven by those in power in the Fed govt. The ACA would have had massive public backlash if the facts surrounding VA disaster had been known - the Fed govt would never have been allowed to take such power. Instead, the VA was used politically as an example of how finely run govt healthcare is vs private.
Did such stuff go on earlier than 2009-10? Likely. However, it seemed to go into over drive in the last few years - mainly to justify political moves to take over healthcare.
The over-riding goal for both VA and IRS was to win elections. Cover up shoddy/fraudulent work with made up statistics for votes. Quash all dissenting opinions from the only grass roots groups to challenge the status-quo by putting the fear of God in them with the IRS - again to ensure the outcome of elections.
It is very, very unlikely that either of these two events could occur without some guiding hand from those in power in the Fed govt. While those in the VA scandal did benefit personally from increased bonuses, the fact that the same actions (and coverups) spread across multiple, disperate facilities in the US tells me that it was coordinated by someone.

Btw... This article is empirical evidence illustrating nobody cares about veterans (if people cared, we wouldn’t be reading this article).
Oh for fucks sake. I can tell you pretty much exactly what happened. The vets and public raised a shit storm because there was a damn waiting list that was long. Then the congress/gov responded by mandating that vets had to be seen within some stupidly short time frame (e.g. consults have to be seen/responded to within 2wks, vets who are OIF, OEF have to be seen almost immediately especially if its for mental health). The VA has been on a hiring freeze for years and the number of doctors, etc are growing less all the time. Plus the pay is shit compared to any place else. So what does the fucking VA administration do? They make up false reports about how long the actual waiting list is instead of telling it like it is which would probably get them fired. They are essentially lying about what the real state of affairs is. There are waiting lists everywhere you fucking go. Kaiser can be months for some stupid scan.
Now, what does chasing this story do by keeping it in the media? Divert your attention from more important issues, that's what. The fucking FBI should go after any number of outright criminals in government since 99% of them are, but no, they have time to go after the lying VA.
What it does is hopefully illustrate to the mindless masses what they will soon be getting under a nationalized healthcare system maybe?
So I called the Phoenix VA. I'm a veteran and I spoke to a real person, Ann. I asked to schedule an appointment. She said it would be 3-4 months.
But I betcha those guys in Mosul will get their benefits way sooner.
Vets should have been able to see any doctor or hospital they wanted and had the bill sent to .gov to be paid like Mediscare.
Now that we have Obamascare soon to be Single Payer No Medical Care For You the mundanes will now get a taste of what veterans have been facing for decades. At least since the Vietnam War and probably going as far back as the Korean War.
I know a few FBI agents. They are all reservists in either the army or navy. I presume the FBI has a pretty healthy population of DOD reservists throughout its ranks which doesn't bode well for the VA in the context of an investigation like this.
