Hamas Declares New Intifada Against Israel (Because The World Doesn't Have Enough Wars)

Tyler Durden's picture

Can't we all just get along and stop crossing red lines? Just when we had run out of fingers to count the number of conflicts around the world that are flaring, Haaretz reports that Hamas called on Palestinians Friday to declare an intifada throughout the West Bank and to confront Israeli "forces of Occupation," be it through a popular uprising or individual action. Earlier Friday, Khaled Al-Batsh, a senior member of Islamic Jihad, called on Palestinians to kidnap Israeli soldiers, adding that "this is a chance to widen the sphere of resistance and return the West Bank to its natural place as the focal point of the struggle and resistance." Your move President Obama; how do you sanction Hamas?

Via Haaretz,

Hamas called on Palestinians Friday to declare an intifada throughout the West Bank and to confront Israeli "forces of Occupation," be it through a popular uprising or individual action.

Hassan Badran, Hamas' international spokesman in Gaza, posted Friday on Facebook calling for Palestinians in the West Bank to impede the Israeli army's movement around the West Bank, particularly in the Hebron area, where three Israeli teens are feared kidnapped.

"This is a chance to widen the sphere of resistance and return the West Bank to its natural place as the focal point of the struggle and resistance," Badran wrote.

Earlier Friday, Khaled Al-Batsh, a senior member of Islamic Jihad, called on Palestinians to kidnap Israeli soldiers. Speaking at a Friday prayer in Gaza, Al-Batsh said kidnapping soldiers is the most efficient way to bring about the release of Palestinian prisoners.

The declaration comes in the wake of the apparent kidnapping Friday of three missing Israeli teens, one of whom holds U.S. citizenship.

Probably a good time to buy US equities... (especially airlines!!!)

Take it up with Dr. Amir Ale, Ph.D. and his Article Collection of Israeli quotes:

Or, professors Stephen Walt of Harvard University and John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago who in their book The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy (Farrar & Straus, Sept. 2007)  charge that former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin called the Palestinians “beasts walking on two legs” and former IDF Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan termed them “drugged roaches in a bottle.”

Or, the link I cited.

A bigot is a person who strongly and unfairly dislikes other people and ideas. In that the people and ideas I dislike are done fairly, I cannot be classified a bigot.

* Alliances are temporary pacts of convenience, and remain so until formally cemented.  Otherwise the ally becomes an enemy once again, when the temporary has caused the common enemy to be eliminated.  This is a classic way of eliminating an enemy who is otherwise too difficult and costly to eliminate.  Put another way: An Alliance is nothing more than a temporary and convenient Force Multiplier.

They word choice of the Zio-rag ynetnews is intellectually "problematic".

If a dual US-Canadian citizen were kidnapped in the US, in the US press- the victim would be refered to as an AMERICAN, and in the Canadian press- the victim would be referred to as a CANADIAN.

There is no legitimate reason to refer to an Israeli citizen as an AMERICAN in the Israeli press.

This stupid posturing in the Israeli press legitimizes criticisms that aren't in the (larger) Israeli interest to legitimize.

Since there are so many legitimate criticisms as it is, why add to them? Unless there is an ulterior political goal to draw the US further into the situation, or to pre-emptively insulate Israel from criticism for what it is about to do... regardless it is YELLOW JOURNALISM.

US citizen among missing teens in suspected West Bank kidnapping

Senior security officials have informed US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro that one of three teenagers missing in the West Bank has American citizenship. The ambassador was notified after defense officials met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv on Friday to discuss the security situation in light of the possible abduction.

The three youths, all aged between 17 and 19 and all yeshiva students, disappeared late Thursday night between Kfar Etzion and the settlement Alon Shvut, southwest of Jerusalem.

The Shin Bet and the IDF's Central Command are treating the teens' disappearance as a terrorist kidnapping, given that, among other things, their cell phones stopped broadcasting GPS signals from the location where they were last seen.
Security forces have been scanning the Bethlehem and Hebron areas, while police were checking a link between a burnt-out car that was discovered near Hebron and the disappearance of the teens. Large numbers of security forces were also searching open areas in Gush Etzion - on foot, by car and using advances observation devices.

Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported that IDF troops were combing southern Hebron. According to the report, the army set up roadblocks in various locations, and IDF forces raided some houses and made several arrests. At the same time, Israeli drones were reportedly seen flying over the southern part of the Hebron Hills. The IDF has also confirmed that unmanned aerial vehicles have been deployed in the search.

Meanwhile, roadblocks were set up on southern Israeli highways in order to prevent the potential transfer of the youths to Gaza, which would greatly complicate any possible rescue attempt, either military or political.

The IDF was looking into whether the teens tried to hitch a ride in the Etzion area, not far from the Gush Etzion junction, an area where many settlers hitchhike, despite army warnings and repeated alerts on terror organizations planning to commit a kidnapping.

In recent weeks, the Shin Bet uncovered several attempts by terror cells to kidnap Israeli soldiers or civilians in order to use them as a bargaining chip to secure the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

Israel has blamed the reconciliation between Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah for the suspected kidnap.

"This event is a direct continuation of escalation in Judea and Samaria since Abu Mazen (Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas) allowed the terrorist organization Hamas to join the Palestinian government," a senior source said after the meeting with Netanyahu on Friday.

The IDF has asked the public not to believe rumors the IDF had broke into a home and rescued two of the teens, a claim that the spokesman denied.

"I'm asking everyone to behave responsibly. There's no significance to rumors that have been spreading," said an IDF spokesperson.

IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz has instructed all relevant army units, including a unit dealing with hostage situations, to raise their level of alert and prepare for any scenario.

"The goal is to figure out what happened before they disappeared, to investigate our way backwards. So far, we haven't found any items belonging to the two out on the field," a senior army source said.

He added that the search was now focusing on the intelligence front, and that the IDF, Police and Shin Bet were holding a situation evaluation every few hours.

A relative of one of the missing teens said the families were being updated by the IDF and police about the disappearance.

"He just disappeared, never made it home," the relative said. "His parents are worried, praying, hoping for the best. We're all praying this incident ends in a good way."

The spokesman for a settlement in which one of the missing teens resides said that his father had reported him missing during the night when he failed to return home and didn't answer his phone. At the same time, family members began searching for the teen at his friends' houses.

"At 8 am we got texts. We were asked if we knew where the boy was and to wake up our children to see if he was staying over at one of the homes," the spokesman said.

At first the family members thought the teen had just forgotten his keys and went to sleep at a friend's house, as he had done before.

"As soon as we realized he was nowhere to be found, the atmosphere in the settlement became very grave. People were hiding in their homes... we opened an operations room to provide residents with information, and organized a mass prayer and read from the Book of Songs so this incident ends on a good side," the spokesman continued.

The spokesman added that yeshiva students often make the journey from Alon Shvut to the Gush Etzion junction and from there to Jerusalem, and onto the settlement via Shiloh junction.

Meaning that Hamas has an insentive to do kidnappings of US citizens now, because POTUS will give them anything in return.

The IDF intelligence analcysts must be the laughing stock of the community now, if that what's they're feeding you...

My diction, rhetorical devices and methods, as well as even international keyboard layout spelling errors generate a rather unique fingerprint.

You been caught flat out lying, and you cannot undue that.

Time for you to find another home, or a new account.

What a news flash: there’s conflict between Israel and the Palestinians underway.

If Walter Cronkite were alive he could review the news stories he’s used over his time on this war. And a war it is when one nuclear power nation occupies the land of another nation pushing its settlements further and further into the Palestinian territory, issuing 24-hour demolition notices for Palestinians to get out of their homes before they are demolished for Israeli expansion, holding hundreds of its citizens prisoner without charges.

And btw, this latest “war” can include Israeli air attacks this week on the West Bank (not many Palestianian jet aircraft attack Israel since it doesn’t have any).

And, then, there’s the little item concerning that widely viewed video of two unarmed Palestinian teenagers shot and killed apparently by Israeli snipers. Couldn’t be, Israel says, because the Israeli snipers only had rubber bullets. Strange, in the war between these two sides, rubber bullets have a way of becoming real bullets and the death toll mounts.

Palestinian Homes and Property Demolished in the West Bank | Al-HAQ

08 May 2014

On 29 April, at approximately 2:30 am, Mohammad woke up to the sound of Israeli military jeeps and soldiers surrounding his and his brother’s residences. He recalls that there were approximately 20 military jeeps, six bulldozers and around 400 Israeli soldiers in Khirbet al-Twayyel.

An Israeli officer approached Mohammad and instructed that his and his brother’s houses should be evacuated and the cattle and furniture removed. Mohammad refused. The officers then sent in seven Israeli personnel who were dressed in civilian clothes, to empty the houses. The families were then ordered to stand 100 metres away from the house. The process of demolishing the two houses and water tanks lasted for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

Neither Mohammad nor Anwar received prior notice from the Israeli authorities with regard to this demolition. The same authorities claim that the houses were built in Area C which is under Israeli control and that they lacked building permits. (Al-Haq Affidavit No. 9554/2

Approving homes and them getting built are two different things.  As for 500 structures, what the heck is a structure?  An abandoned shack or outhouse can be a structure.

As Jews celebrated Yom Ha'atzmaut (Independence Day) on May 6, commemorating the 66th year of Israel’s May1948 Declaration of Independence, i.e., its Palestinian holocaust, Israelis across the country flocked to public parks and hiking trails to celebrate with barbeques and other leisure activities, including a torch-lighting ceremony, and military might displays, while (unindicted war criminal) President  Shimon Peres called on Israelis to "be proud, but never satisfied” and Stephen Lendman wrote:

Palestinians never had a chance. In early March 1948, future Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion met with leading Zionists and military officers.

They finalized war plans. It was called Plan D (Dalet in Hebrew). It followed Plans A, B and C.

It bears repeating. It was war without mercy. It reflected Ben-Gurion's earlier plan. "I am for compulsory transfer," he said.

"I do not see anything immoral about it," he claimed. Hundreds of thousands of displaced or murdered Palestinians were considered a small price to pay.

Things unfolded as planned. Independence took six months to achieve.

Arab armies were no match for Israeli strength. False narratives claimed otherwise. Invaders were outmanned and outgunned.

According to [

Ilan] Pappe, systematic terror followed. About 800,000 Palestinians were expelled. Doing so reflected genocidal ethnic cleansing.

Hundreds of Arab villages were depopulated. So were 11 urban cities. They included large parts of Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv and Haifa.

Many thousands of innocent victims were massacred. Mass rapes and other atrocities were committed.

Palestinian homes, property and belongings were bulldozed, demolished, and/or burned.

Palestinians wanting to return couldn't. They were systematically prevented from doing so.

Horrific Israeli crimes were committed. They matched what convicted Nazis were hanged for at Nuremberg.

They included cold-blooded mass murder. Survivors remember Deir Yassin. Other Palestinian villages were targeted the same way. Wholesale slaughter followed. So did mass displacement.

On April 9, 1948, things began. Israeli soldiers entered Deir Yassin. They did so violently. They machine-gunned houses randomly. Many inside were slaughtered.

Remaining villagers were assembled. They were murdered in cold blood. Children and infants weren't spared. They were treated like adults.

Elderly and infirm victims got no mercy. Women were raped before being killed. Estimates place the death toll at around 120.

An eyewitness said:

"I was (there) when the Jews attacked. (They) closed on the village amid exchanges of fire with us."

"Once they entered the village, fighting became very heavy in the eastern side and later it spread to other parts, to the quarry, to the village center until it reached the western edge."

"The Jews used all sorts of automatic weapons, tanks, missiles, cannons. They enter(ed) houses and kill(ed) women and children indiscriminately. The (village) youths...fought bravely."

Ensuing fighting killed dozens more. Many other villages were attacked the same way. Ethnic cleansing involved mass slaughter and displacement.

It's longstanding Israeli practice. Official policy aims for maximum land with minimum Arabs. "Every attack has to end with occupation, destruction and expulsion," said Ben-Gurion.

He meant displace, depopulate, slaughter. Do it without mercy. Erase Palestinian culture and history.

Replace it with Jewish tradition. Twist truth doing it. Justify genocidal slaughter any way it takes. Current Israeli policy hasn't changed.

Slow-motion genocide replaced decades earlier flank speed. It continues unabated. Forty-seven years of occupation reflect institutionalized persecution.

State terror defines official Israel policy. Palestinians have no power over their daily lives. They're terrorized. They live in fear for good reason. They face:

  • economic strangulation;
  • collective punishment for being Muslims, not Jews;
  • loss of basic freedoms;
  • Gaza under siege;
  • enclosures by separation walls, electric fences and border closings;
  • regular curfews, roadblocks, and checkpoints;
  • bulldozed homes, crops and orchards; as well as

 arrest, imprisonment, and torture without cause.

They endure assaults, extra-judicial assassinations and punitive taxation.

They're denied basic services. They're essential to life and well-being. They include healthcare, education, and living-wage employment.

It's enough nourishing food and water. International tribunals don't help. Occupation harshness persists.

Zionism's roots began things. It became international in scope. Its founder Theodor Herzl said:

"We must expropriate gently the private property on the state assigned to us."

"We shall try to spirit the penniless population across the border…(We must do it by) denying it employment in our country." ...

A so-called "Jewish and democratic state" is Orwellian. It's oxymoronic. It's faux democracy. It's solely for Jews…

You don't understand. Arabs had been illegally occupying Jewish land for scores of generations! The blue-eyed Ashkenazi were just taking back what was theirs. Or their fathers'. Or their father's father's Rabbis'.

Or something. It's all good. AIPAC told me Israel are our allies. You wouldn't throw your allies under the bus, would you? Even if they are a bunch of Judeofascist racial supremacists.

The catalyst for war has not been diminished as many people have hoped it would once the world matured. National pride, political agendas, religious and ethnic hatreds are some of the biggest roadblocks to world peace. Often we seem to forget as we look back to World War II and past a dozen "lesser Conflicts" peace has been the exception rather then the rule for hundreds and thousands of years.

The true reality is that across the world few mothers want to see their children killed and most farmers want to be left along to raise their crops and earn a living. More on the subject of war as a solution to conflict in the article below.
