For those playing at home, we offer a little buzzword bingo for today's impromptu Presidential press conference regarding Iraq: "line in the sand", "support", "red line", "drone", "sanctions", "kinetic", "sternly worded email", "no one could have seen this coming", and "boots on the ground." We suspect it's going to be another long-weekend for war correspondents... and journalists (which means it must be time to dump VIX and BTFWWIII).

What does BTFWWIII mean?
It is a third degree derivative of Buy The Fucking Dip. Now that World war 3 is coming, it is time to get rich by Buying The Fucking World War lll.
The real problem is the money. I recall Sadam's sons loading 3 or 4 semis with US cash (over a billion dollars) at the Baghdad central bank and driving to Syria. They say that some $400 million of money (Iraqi, US, currency or electronic??) at the branch office central bank in Mosul and/or other banks has been compromised. This is the most critical issue. If these guys are so radical and religious and have access to these funds to do whatever they want; the world has become a much more dangerous place. This is much more important than who controls the territory. This is a multiple of the funds available to AlQaeda from Osama. Is there any ability to restrict, freeze or inhibit the use of these funds?
The Kurds probably should form their own country and then let the Sunnis and Shiites split up Iraq and Syria in their appropriate zones. Is there a balance or voice of reason in the Syrian/Iraqi Sunni's? Can they balance out the radicals? The ISIS group which is in Syria (rebels) have had some support and training from the US against Bashar similar to the Taliban? Are our weapons and training a key element in their success in IRAQ? We know they have captured a lot of our military hardware in northern Iraq? ISIR is the allied group in IRAQ. Guaging from the shocking videos so far of assasinations and inhuman behavour; we are in for a fairly radical group. This may well be the worst long term nightmare imaginable.
The Arab spring is continuing to morph and the region is in as much turmoil as at any other time. U S policy under this administration has removed the leaders that were able to keep things under control. It is evident that the radicals are the ones that keep regaining control. Egypt blew up, Syria blew up, Iraq is in civil war, Iran (Shiite) and Saudi (Sunni) are the major domos. Everyone in the region is now upset with the United States. We walked away from our friends and pushed democracy which probably cannot work in such a society. Much of this seems similar to Croatia and the ancient hatreds that cannot be overcome. Regions almost have to first be separated by ethnic/religious preferences. It will only work with some degree of balance. Iran running one side and Saudi running the other with the US out of the picture sounds unstable and scary.
I'm betting on the fellow who eats human hearts. Probably a pretty intimidating guy....
