The new home sales number reported today by the Government’s Census Bureau with “seasonal adjustments” is simply not believable.  If you look at this link and scroll down to the “Not adjusted” section, you’ll see TOTAL of 9,000 more homes nationwide were sold in May vs. April:

Furthermore, you’ll see the average sales price soared nearly 5%.  This is not  consistent at all with past data correlations when rising prices curtail sales.

Finally, we know that 93% of all new home buyers use a mortgage to buy a new home.   New home sales are based on contract signings,  When a contract is signed, the buyer then applies for a purchase mortgage.  Purchase mortgage applications plunged in May.

It seems our only chance is to withdraw our consent from the system that seeks to enslave us. Government and industry combine to reap the fruits of our labor. Taxation and inflation benefit few at the expense of many. Many of us do without the things we need and sacrifice what we want to give to those we love while government and industry impose increasing fees and costs on us.  Those that are enriching themselves with the current system won't change the status quo voluntarily.

Video dimisses Peak Oil as just another banker-sponsored propoganda piece. Selective research. "fiercely independent" indeed.

Funny Money's picture

Peak Oil was the Global Warmingz of its day.  Despite the shrill predictions, freakouts, and hyperventilation, oil production's booming. How is that any different than the climate scam?

Oldrepublic's picture

lots of oil left in the earth, only it is no longer cheap oil!

Lord Koos's picture

Because the low hanging fruit was picked some time ago.  Oil is never going to get cheaper.

Mr. Kim, what is your opinion of Bitcoin with consideration that Singapore is not only a precious metals hub but is quickly becoming a very Bitcoin-friendly jurisdiction for the time being?

Always enjoy your commentary, thanks.

Bitoin is a great you want to buy some rare Beanie Babies too?

crazytechnician's picture

Bitcoin certainly is a great investment. Not sure about the beanie babies though.

I have a bunch of beanie babies from back when they were going to make us all rich.  Maybe when shit gets real I can trade them for a FAL and some 7,62 NATO.

During the "boom times" when asset values are going up lots of people think they are getting rich. In inflationary times government also does well as tax revenues grow. Not only does government get to spend the money they print, the side effects of inflation on taxes are good for government, though bad for their subjects.

By a continuing process of inflation, government can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. said John Maynard Keynes. As the central banks print like crazy to control interest rates on bonds they devalue the currency.

While there are not many Bond Vigilantes there are many Currency Vigilantes. Changes in the value of a currency directly affect "buying power" and the value of assets. Inflation, deflation, what is something worth? More on this subject in the article below.

Replace "subjects" with "Citizens" and I will uprate you...

It is the same with "Global Warming", people kept wondering where all the cold weather was coming from and questioning the 'warming' part of it, so now it has changed to "Climate Change", so absolutely anything can be attributed to it!!

RevRex's picture

That's why we put trays of water in our ovens when we want to make ice cubes. Democrats are way smarter than the rest of us, and "both parties hour the same"

Sokhmate's picture

Thenceforth the dated term Climate Change.
I have it on good authority the new term has been changed to Climate Metagrobolization.

whotookmyalias's picture

Al Gore invented climate change. He has a lot of good ideas about fees and taxes that he can impose on the average person in order to help alleviate the cash flow constraints of his cronies, err I mean to fix climate change.

Lord Koos's picture

You guys all flunked science, correct?

TheReplacement's picture

You mean that thing where they take factual historical temperature readings and replace them with fake computer model generated readings to justify their claim it is getting warmer when in reality it is cooling?  Yeah I failed that one multiple times.
