UMich Confidence Beats Modestly; Outlook Tumbles To 3-Month Lows
Following June's initial largest miss in 18 months, UMich consumer confidence 'final' print inched higher to 82.5, modestly beating expectations - but well below April's peak. In case you were confused at whether you should be exuberant (conference board confidence at highest since 2008) or dysphoric (Gallup survey at lowest in 2014), we don't blame you. What is most worrisome about the UMich data, aside from the non-confirmation of exuberance offered by the government survey, is the tumble in the "outlook' index to 3 month lows.
Initial June print - big miss...
Final - small beat...

Did anyone else taught about that at the time?
Did BP used nukes to stop the spill ?
Everyone's entitled to their own misconceptions.
No real CONfidence, no POMO today and still can't get a 1% correction.
Bet they didn't poll anyone in Detroit.
Free money breads exuberance: that's why conservative confidence is "High" as in stoned. But outlook will always be bad since everyone hates coming down
Free money breads exuberance...
Hey, isn't that the theoretical socio-term for when EBT cards incur a glitch in processing? You know, the FMBE state of mind?
I mean, how much could it cost to provide all Americans the drugs required to create the levels of optimism needed to turn this thing around? Sure, after a while the drugs will stop working and the resultant psychosis will have us killing each other in the streets, but hey, none of this is supposed to be sustainable. In the long run....
And slowly the casino floats up just like a turd that it is. Sick of this shit.
I am extremely confident.......that we're screwed.
Dysphoric - what a lovely word!

Wait....fuck....hold on a sec.
So Mich CC Index is fucking down right...but beats 'expectations'. So expectations were that it would be fucked, but not as fucked as expected.
But the forward guidance is 'really fucked' from the sorta fucking disappointted, but could have been more fucked.
The common denominator seems to be that we're fucked.
