Where The World's Biggest Worries Are

Tyler Durden's picture

With US equity markets hovering near record-er highs, we thought a quick summary of the state of the world's growing geopolitical risks would 'help' rationalize the BTFATH mentality. Here is Deutsche Bank's map of the most potentially destabilizing risks around the world...

Why is the whole map not blue?

Ok, maybe Antarctica isn't politically or financially unstable, but the rest of this swirling ball of cockroaches is in deep weeds.

No mention of the invasion from Latin America along the US border?????

Guess we don't need UN peacekeepers/humanitarian aid workers then.

I agree with suteibu. Flag the U.S. as broke, people losing faith in government, government turning militant at all levels, bubble economy, extreme levels of income inequality, high levels of obesity, unchecked immigration, and media that has turned to inane brain porn.

Look at my furrows of worry!

“The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.”

Where's the callout for the U.S.?

"Militarization of police forces continues at a rapid pace as the U.S. governmental structure has been usurped by a cabal of banks and corporations that continue to erode the freedoms granted under the Constitution, debase the currency, and punish savers - while pursuing wars of agression across the globe while funding the jihadists they purport to be fighting."

I'd not worry much about MRAP's and the like. Most local yokel jurisdictions won't be able to fix them once they break. Some don't even have quick access to a tow truck big enough to pull them out of a muddy ditch. They are money holes in spite of the oligarch's attempt to intimidate the people, nobody in their right mind would climb into one of these, locked and loaded, without a Warthog or at least a Blackhawk for support.

Once used the people will soon figure out how to disable one: then they are nothing but a coffin.

The Middle East is quickly morphing into a Regional Conflict with absolutely enormous consequences.

Do not underestimate Turkey's response to creating "law and order" here. Russia has already made the first move in changing borders to "suit their retarded interests"...the rest of the world will now do the same.

In Derry (London Derry) Ireland the locals have an interesting solution. In their case the problem is drug dealers. If the local IRA has a problem the dealer is informed a few times that his conduct will no longer be tolerated. After a series of clear warnings action is taken against the dealer. Sometimes it is physical.

The police do not get out of their vehicles in Derry so this is all 'community action'.

I wonder if, as the police become increasingly political (ie militarized and hostile to 'civilians') this kind of response to local problems will not become the norm.

Fri, 06/27/2014 - 12:58 | 4902700 Hongcha

Change the term from 'drug dealers' to 'police' and the solution writes itself.

Sometimes in Richmond, CA, the police don't get out of their vehicles because they just might be outgunned. Better just to let the natives shoot it out, first.

That map has one point of information: it exhibits the importance of Israel in the global hegemony of 'americans' over the world.

'Americans' might not like it but Israel is pivotal to their plan.

'Americans' think long term and this was planned decades ago.
