As long as the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights remain active documents underpinning the Supreme Court (and frankly even this is debatable now) all lof this should be able to be corrected or righted, and set back to the foundation that the US was built on.

Apparently you missed the ruling, it has set SCOTUS as a type of arbiter of acceptable religious practice - not particularly constitutional. How this is different than many fundamentalist muslim countries shall remain a mystery.

The insanely misguided notion of corporate personhood is one of the biggest threats to the freedoms enshrined in our constitution.
No matter where you personally stand on the issues of contreception or obamacare you should be troubled that this ruling further extends the concept that a corporation has the same rights (but virtually none of the responsibilities) of an individual.
Corporations now, according to the Supreme Court, can hold religious beliefs and seek exemptions from the law based on their personal corporate morality. This does not lead to anything positive for the people nor for the nation.
You have pointed out the real issue here. Marjorie Kelly dealt with this issue with keen insight in her excellent book "The Divine Right of Capital". "Corporate personhood" without commensurate social responsibility as the other side of that right, has made a fundamental contribution to the mess we are in now.

That was exactly my thoughts this weekend when I sadly turned on the Sunday new shows to see what the other half were thinking. Georgee Stephanopulous show started out with a whole scare segment on how we should be cowering under our desks in fear of terrorists. Only in like minute 38 did they address the only scandal that matters, which is the IRS scandal which DOES rise to level of high crimes and misdemeanors (abusing power of office to silence political foes is about the worst high crime and misdemeanor there is). The IRS was IN THE WHITE HOUSE ALL THE TIME plotting the suppression of Obamas political opponents with ValJar and probably Dear Leader himself. Way way worse than Watergate. They wont find any emails but they do not need to, cui bono plus what they need is tapes of the conversations from all those meetings at the White House. If those go missing, then we have a proper Watergate setup, never tmind the 7 people whose emails just accidentally disappeared starting a week after the first congressional inquiry into the matter (WTFF!?!?!?!?!).

Democracy did in fact mean "of the people", but "the people" designated wealthy propertied men and no one else (the definition had not changed 2000 years later when America was founded).

I talk to people who work with lower class minimum wage workers. Basically they don't know or care about much of anything that is going on the world. They like Dear Leader when he gives them bennies and dislike him when he doesn't. They will vote, if they vote, for the next guy who promises them more bennies.
Buy your OWN damn birth control. Why does insurance have to do it? Its not that expensive. And if you can't afford it, then use your hand. Why do people think every last thing has to be covered by insurance? Maybe we should have grocery insurance and gas insurance too. My wife has worked in the insurance business for 15 years. Through conversations with her, I can assure you that I rank insurance right below debt as the 2 most evils foisted upon the world. Funny how the same group of people run both.

I share your outrage, but not your surprise that it's happening. When you approach and step over the "50% of the population reliant on government entitlements" threshold, you've reached, quite literally, a tipping-point. The 08-09 downturn hastened its arrival somewhat, but it would have happened in a few years anyway. Demographics and guaranteed entitlement programs are a nasty cocktail when the tide starts to turn and run the other direction.
A lesser known fact: Michelle and Barry call Sasha and Malia "Cloward" and "Piven" as nicknames.

WTF does religion have to do with it anyway ? Unfortunately they have to use that to overturn it.
It seems the argument is that some employers have religious objections to birth control, so being forced to pay for their employees birth control would be a violation of their religious freedoms.
These are corporations that are the employers in the case of this ruling. You need to bend reality to a pretty extreme degree when you buy into the concept that the business entity known as a corporation can hold religious objections.
We've apparently established that corporations are people, with free speech rights. Now they can have religious objections, the court has said so.
How long before a big corporation does the obvious, and ESTABLISHES a corporate religion to give them an edge over the competition?

The real issue is of course that we are stuck between the Scylla of subsidizing people's poor decisions/irresponsibility/lack of self-control/general infantileness and the Charydbis of even more unloved, unwanted, unneeded and immensely costly accidents known as children. As if, at this moment in human history, we need even more resource consumption, as if we don't have enough surplus labor, as if the diminishing marginal returns of population growth hadn't reached fever pitch, as if the world as it is could provide a decent life for the people already alive. The next 2 decades are going to hit these people like a fully-loaded ballistic-missile-on-rails freight train.
It's essentially, "give me my free and unrestricted access to birth control, or else, mister, you'll be sorry in 9.5 months, and for the rest of your life."
