Wondering "Why You’re Still Poor As Dow Flirts With 17,000" - Marketwatch Explains

Tyler Durden's picture

It really doesn't get any more ridiculous than Marketwatch's question du jour. As for the right answer, is it:

i) because you haven't taken out a fourth mortgage on your house and bought GoPro with the proceeds

ii) because you forgot that in a market as rigged and manipulated as this one, only BTFD and BTFATH matters

iii) because hard as you try, you still can't pay your monthly rent in "confidence" terms

iv) because after losing it all on Madoff, you are wary of Ponzi schemes

v) because your name isn't Jamie Dimon

vi) all of the above

Lest someone is confused about the context, Marketwatch also helpfully explains:

Congratulations Fed: you can add "financial journalism" to "market" and all the other items you have made a mockery of.

Generally speaking, I am not in favor of antipsychotic medications...However, in your case...Yeah. You SERIOUSLY need to get back on your meds ASAmotherfuckinP!

Do not go out in public in your current condition because you will surely get thrown in room with padded walls.

All joking aside, you seem to be having some serious kind of mental breakdown. Get help. FAST.

Actually,

I bought it as $600, and $9 respectively.

And at $720 and $12.

And at $1023 and $15.

And unlike you, who own something only because there's a number on a ledger that requires you to trust a whole host of people from accountants to debtors to regulators, and police - all of whom have PROVEN themselves corrupt - my purchases are mine because I physically have them.

Since Diocletian we have seen this story repeated HUNDREDS of times.

Unlike me, you declare yourself smart BECAUSE you have no knowledge of how those turned out.

Idiot Savant, indeed - without the Savant.

I'm thinking you're the kind of person who would try to auction off dry real estate on the Titanic, staying on until the end to take advantage of every last ounce of scarcity, and consoling yourself with how rich you are becoming.  Yet all the while you ignore how the story necessarily, inevitably ends.

LMAO.

While I read the article and they talked about the people that went to cash .......and the author said the smart ones would have stayed in the market and made that 50%. But it has nothing to do with that. The SMART ones had the corner office and knew that the market would go up. But the rest of us DID NOT TRUST THEM. And that is the word. TRUST.

Those assholes that took our money and ruined the interest rate that we thought that we were going to get on retirement, are the people that need to be in jail now. Stephen Cohen, Corizine, "Ace" Greenberg, bankers and the card sharks and the list goes on. These are the sharp cats that know how to  steal others money.

When they are in jail, I'll go back in the market.

It's not about trusting these guys. It's about knowing what kind of game they are playing. You can play along with them or not. People that got out of the market because of trust issues, well, they screwed themselves. I can't really blame them, but they lost out. The playing field is rigged, but it's the only game in town.

Under ObamaInvest everyone will be required to invest every month, how much depending on your age, and if you don't have enough income or you are an illegal alien the government will give you a big, fat subsidy.  Oh BTW you never get to take the money back out again, we call it the "Hotel California" plan.  But every month we'll send you a statement on how much we're holding in your name.

Thanks for this post as I don't have to do one of these:)  Press is really getting bad and that's because of money so there more bots doing news now and one thing we can count on for sure, there' not bot doing Zero Hedge, it couldn't but I bet it may have done the Market Watch report:)  Ap just announced today that more their news will be written by a bot and Forbes and Pro-Publica already use one for some of their news stories.  You can pick them out, the boring Stat Rat stuff.  I use as a freebee the Narrative Science for my google stat reports and it's ok for that in writing me a little story but I don't put it out there as news and internally in an office having a program write you a little story with numbers from a spreadsheet is ok.

Is this a bot or not edited and formatted Market Watch story:)

So why are we still poor, it's data selling for profit.  As you read the US care of service is getting lower and gee, they are just scaring you right and left and a score with either correct or flawed data denies you access to something, money, loan, medical care, although the last is not supposed to happen but it does.

All the goofy nerds out there think this is great that a hospital now will rummage through your credit card transactions and look for bad things, like buying a Hersey bar, not having a gym membership, etc.  Doctors don't want to do that, but the hospital executive is sold on it and they will take data from Axciom and MasterCard and query that together.  The day I made this post I had Mastercard and Axciom all over my blog, I think it upset them as I said their data is flawed which Axciom data is.

http://ducknetweb.blogspot.com/2014/06/oh-crap-now-hospitals-are-now-buy...

I am trying and working to get support to get a law passed to where consumers are not hiddenly scored so all data sellers would need to be licensed and disclose what kind of data they sell and to whom.  This is why all privacy efforts have failed, there's no index on who they all are and what they sell.

Anyway if you are interested I was all over MasterCard going to sell your data twice as have you wondered why it's easier to get a credit card these days?  Well, we have this side business of selling your data that makes up for bad debt on them and it's big, i.e. Walgreens makes 1-2 billion a year, just selling data.  Wonder what the banks make, don't you?  Here's a new book that came out from a favorite of mine, "Virtual Unreality"..got to like the title and he does a good job and has a chapter about the journobots too, like this Market Watch article that was written..had to be a bot:)

http://ducknetweb.blogspot.com/2014/06/virtual-unreality-maybe-good-read...

I recommended it for all who were upset over the Facebook study algos as they haven't seen squat compared to code hosing market algos:)

MedicalQuack Will Facebook partners will be using co-loads to get as close to the servers as possible to get first crack at hosing users 1st next?:)

I never understand why so many are so bitter about the market going up.  If you can't make money the past couple of years, seriously, walk away from the stock market.  Just don't complain when others are making bank.

I never understand why so many are so bitter about the market going down in 2001 and 2008.  If you didn't make several lifetime fortunes during those events, seriously, walk away from the markets. Just don't complain when someone makes real bank without Kevin Henry holding their hand.     /s
