Obama Worst President Since World War II, More Say US Would Be Better Under Romney, Latest Poll Finds

Tyler Durden's picture

The president is increasingly finding that telling the Mr. Chairmanwoman to rig the market to all time highs does not translate to a comparable popularity rating. In fact, just the opposite.

While Obama's slide in the polls is nothing new, the latest data from the Quinnipiac University Poll is about as bad as it gets for the president: in fact, perhaps the only thing more shocking than Obama "surpassing" George W. Bush as the worst president since World War II is the onset of revisionism, with some 45% saying the US would have been better with Romney as president, compared to just 38% who say Obama remains the better choice. Which incidentally confirms what we reported yesterday: while the Republican view of Obama has certainly never been lower, what is worse is that even the core democrat faithful are now giving up on the hope and change bringer, confirmed by the latest Gallup poll which saw democrat confidence in the economy tumbling to the lowest level for 2014.

More from Washington Times:

With Mr. Obama deploying military troops to Iraq, failing to find compromise with Congress and seeing major defeats in the Supreme Court, voters continue to sour on him.

Quinnipiac found 45 percent of voters say the country would have been better off if Mr. Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee, had been election, while just 38 percent say Mr. Obama remains a better choice. Even Democrats aren’t so sure — just 74 percent of them told the pollsters Mr. Obama was clearly the better pick in the last election.

Voters also rate him the worst president since World War II, topping even his predecessor, President George W. Bush, who had left office with terrible ratings.

“Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

A Zogby Analytics Poll released Wednesday also found Mr. Obama slipping — in that survey, to 44 percent approval, while his disapproval leapt 4 percentage points from last month to reach 54 percent.

Nearly half of voters told the Zogby poll that Mr. Obama is “unable to lead the country.”

And now, back to hoping and praying that by rigging the Dow Jones above the "psychological level" of 17,000, voters will finally notice and give Obama his due.

I'm no fan of the current resident @ 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. But the worst president of post WWII is Richard Nixon. When he closed the gold window in August of 1971 he set the stage for the current economic climate,.  The bubbles, the inflation, that's all on him. While Carter got the lions share of the blame for the inflation and high interest rates of the late 70's it was Nixon who handed him the steaming pile of dung. Nixon is right up there with Wilson in terms of doing irreparable economic damage to the US.

Nixon and his merry band of jerk-offs took USA off the gold standard because the USA had printed a TON more money then they claimed and had the gold reserves for, 7 times as much appaerently!  They printed it mostly during the prior administration to pay for Johnson's "Great" society (Rise of the Free Shit Army!) and the Vietnam War.

Of course it was a terrible dersicion but Johnson deserves a lot of the blame for it as well.

Indeed.  Worth noting is the 'V' sign he gave the cameras when he was leaving the WH after his impeachment.  The obvious message was "Success! / Mission Accomplished".

Nixon getting impeached was just a psy-op to make people believe that the MSM was legit (so legit that even a sitting president isn't safe from our 'free' press), when in fact that is obviously not the case, nor has it ever been.

Western politicians are nothing but ACTORS, all of them, and it is sad that people still do not grasp the power of conspiracy, or how prevalent and effective conspiracies are, especially when most of the population is so naive as to think there are no conspiracies, especially in regards to the MSM & politics...

Oh, please.  First, the president doesn't have some sort of magical control over the behemoth spending by the government.  He can't issue an edict -- no more spending.  Seriously, that's your thinking?   Moreover, the gold was flowing out as the French were demanding to exchange their dollars.  Soon others would be.  There was no choice.  Give me a break....stop spending.  Sheesh.  Yeah, everything is so simple.

This:

First, the president doesn't have some sort of magical control over the behemoth spending by the government.  He can't issue an edict -- no more spending.

1) President CAN in fact issue a de-facto "edict" to stop spending, by simply refusing to sign off on the budget and / or refusing to sign off on any continuing resolution. Would require a majority in the house to over-ride. Wheather he has the balls to do so is another story.

2) President IS the commander and chief of the military, and can, in fact, end any war he likes at any time he likes. Wheather he has the balls to do so is another story.

3) President can, in fact, hire and remove the head of the fed at any time he so chooses. This means that he could remove the Fed president if he does not like the handling of the Federal Reserve. Wheather he has the balls to do so is another story.

4) President, being in charge of the executive branch and therefore the Justice department, SEC, FINRA, etc etc  can squuezze the balls of corporations and other finaicial companies getting out of line, like MF Global for instance.  Wheather he has the balls to do so is another story.

Really do I need to go on?

He can't issue an edict -- no more spending.

But he could issue an edict which suspended the convertability of Dollars into Gold?

Just what gave Nixon the authority to issue that edict?

The truth is that Presidents have ruled by Executive Order under the Emergency War Powers Act since World War II.

FDR issued edicts that prevented many Americans from having Goods and Services. It was called RATIONING. Well the Government also issued edicts during the 1973 and 1979 Fuel Shortages. Remember Even-Odd Days for obtaining Gas?

Well, Dr. Paul never made it to either final ballot he tried for.

Any vote for him to be president would have been a write-in.

The morlocks of the R party had their instructions as to how the ballot was to be composed,

and it never, never allowed the possibility of a RP presidential run.

A bit of a primary teasing to lure in folks to try a bait and switch, but the final ballot was written

long before the primary process began.

If amyone attended the caucus process, they would have seen the mechanics of morlock control in action.

Wed, 07/02/2014 - 11:33 | 4917844 thamnosma
thamnosma's picture

He was likely referring to the primary process.  I certainly cast my vote for him there.  No, it's not all plotted out and rigged.  Paul didn't have the votes, wasn't anywhere close with the public.  His successes were in caucus states where activists and those who cared could be involved.  The masses are still dopes who go with the dope candidates.   How many citizens even know what the fuck the Federal Reserve is?

As for the establishment working against him, any outsider would face that.  Yep, lots of dirty tricks to screw Paul supporters at the caucuses, no doubt about it.  As to the voting states, I'm sorry but election stealing can really only be done in close races, as results can be massaged by a percentage point or two -- which is, by the way, a herculean task.  However, it sure occurs in those circumstances, JFK's phony victory over Nixon in 1960 when Illinois went for Kennedy due to pure election rigging in Chicago by Daley.  But even in that circumstance it required a tight, tight race nationally in which a percentage or two from Chicago decided it.   Bush-Gore with that Florida hanky-panky another, though in that case I think both were cheating.

So in the end Paul just didn't resonate with the majority of Republicans much less the broader electoraate.  I was not surprised.   Nobody in my circle voted  for him despite my best efforts.

Wed, 07/02/2014 - 21:45 | 4919981 Christophe2
Christophe2's picture

The downvotes aren't due to "it's all rigged" sentiment, but rather to overwhelming evidence that 'Dr. Paul' is just another puppet, only he is meant specifically for the ZH audience, so many people here have trouble seeing through his BS.

Ron Paul didn't mind AT ALL that he was clearly robbed of votes during the primaries - when his supporters got justifiably upset about the obvious vote-rigging, his only message was to calm people down and get them to accept Mitt Romney/Obama ('there's always the next election!').

His "I don't fully endorse Mitt Romney" undeniably means that he partially endorses him.  What part of Rmoney is acceptable to anyone?  How can RP still act as if the system is basically working and that we only need to vote right (and give him more $) to fix Washington DC, when there is obvious vote-rigging?

Ron Paul refused to run independently because he isn't legit and because he is in fact nothing more than another distraction, only he is so good at saying some of what his target audience wants to hear (like "audit the Fed" - LOL), that they end up liking him and then automatically forgive him all his 'mistakes'.

If you look at his past, you will notice how much of an insider he has always been, like how he was in the John Birch Society, or how he heavily promoted Reagan early on, or his many links to freemasonry...  One only needs to search a little bit online to find a heck of a lot wrong with him.

I concur.  He would have "audited" the Fed, closed down Overseas Military Installations, brought our Troops home from those Bases and Iraq/Afghanistan much faster(after a policy change of "helping the natives help themselves after Dubya/Cheney looted them".

With Romney (an Ordained Minister of a Apartheid Religion by design - and of course any Mormon) as POTUS, he/she would probably have:
1) Converted many Embassies/Consulates(recall they're appointed) into waystations for (read, staffed by) Missionaries;

2) Made (Semi)Permanent Promotions/Appointments of Mormon( Missionarie)s all over the Federal Govt - with cascading effects down the Chain of Command.
2A) Imagine a CINC being a Draft Dodger due to some BS excuse - er...Correction: we've HAD them as CINCs since Clinton...

2B) Position many Mormon owned/vested businesses(and business persons)  in favorable positions in the MIC, National Chamber of Commerce, and every firm that accepts Federal Subsidies.

2C) A possible Dystopian consequence of this (as all Neocons, Masons, and Tea Party would rally from 8 years of Obama and continued decline of the Industrial Base) could be - a "Constantian Takeover" of the GOVT_US by the Cult - similar to when Constantine and his Xian buddies took over the Roman Empire over its final decades and led the Region into the depths of the Dark Ages.  Other Religions/Non-Xians/Non-Afflilateds get destroyed and assimilated as the Cult rises from a bizzare collection of fairytale tellers and copycats to "Tolerated Religion" then as the "Sole State Religion".

3) Antagonized Russia earlier; and probably would have started a full fleged Cold War or worse, a NATO+UKR vs RUS War over Crimea.

4) Made a National Monument of the Garden of Eden somewhere in Kasas or Nebraska - wherever their seeing stones tell them.

Fixing soccer's 2 main flaws - flopping and too difficult to score - is simple: add a penalty-box like ice hockey, for offenders and floppers.  This will reduce frequency of offenses and create power-play opportunities that will free up attackers to show their offensive and scoring skills

It was a great game.  If the US had better midfielders we would have won.  The US lost too many contested balls in the midfield to keep Belgium out of the goal forever.  I have to claim a bit of bar-room notoriety; at one point I called out, "Tim Howard better Stop, Drop and Roll, 'cause he's ON FIIIIIRRRRE!" to general laughter and approval.

You had good midfielders but they couldn't run that good.

And that's how we took the offensive part always pretty quickly to your goal.

But both strategies where good and offensive and that's what made it such a great game. None of the defensive crap that makes it boring.

Lots of Belgians where I grew up in southwestern Minnesota.  Legend has it they were in touch with another group of Belgian immigrants just over the Canadian border, on the same rail line.  When the trains would stop in Ghent, MN., (Gee, I wonder who named it that?) the US Belgians would open a certain car to get the booze out.  The Silver Dollar Bar in Ghent always claimed to be the first bar in MN to "reopen" after Prohibition was repealed.  It was easy for them, of course, because they never actually closed.  But I always got along fine with the Belgians.  They had big, friendly farm families and kept the Catholic churches vibrant.  The German and Scandinavian Lutheran types looked down on them for being Catholics and less affluent.

Ghent in Minnesota isn't that exciting.  There's a big church (Catholic; St. Eloi), and a grain elevator, a gas station, and a couple of bars.  There have always been bars, and until recently, they were notably unscrupulous as to who got served and how much.  "Get Bent in Ghent," was the slogan.  I'd love to visit your hometown.

Obama's transformation from a law professor into a thug:

Maybe the reasons for Obama’s transformation from a Chicago law professor into a world-class totalitarian thug is that he is a creature of the Central Intelligence Agency; that both his parents were CIA payrollers; that the CIA financed his college education and gave him his first job afterwards—-so that we may well have a president beholden to this international criminal organization, an agency that has left a trail of blood, turmoil, and assassinations around the globe.

According to the May 6th The New Yorker, when General James Cartwright, vice-chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, asked at an Obama Situation Room meeting why the U.S. was building a second air force in the form of a CIA drone attack fleet, Obama told him, “The CIA gets what it wants.” That Obama holds this view is reinforced by Cameron Munter, President Obama’s former ambassador to Pakistan. Munter questioned whether the drone strikes in Pakistan weren’t having a blowback effect on the Pakistani public. Writing in the magazine, Steve Coll says Munter learned under Obama: “It was what the CIA believed that really counted.”

Reporter Coll says America’s drone war is a major factor in why U.S. relations with Pakistan have “collapsed.” Today, he writes, “the U.S. has surpassed India as the most hated nation in Pakistan.” Coll adds, “Obama seems unwilling to confront the possibility that drone strikes may be creating more enemies than they’re eliminating.”

So far, the drone strikes are believed to have killed 3,000 people, not one of whom got a fair trial in the American tradition. The attacks are being made in countries where the U.S. has never officially declared war: besides Pakistan, in Somalia, Yemen, and even in the Philippines. Obama has turned the whole world into an American shooting gallery.

In his two terms in office, President Bush authorized 48 drone strikes in Pakistan. But since 2009, Obama has okayed more than 300, reporter Coll writes

CIA Has interesting history

But is is Occult, Hidden.

In the 1950s CIA was doing crazy shit with mind control
In the 1960s CIA Got to try out its full organization
In 1970s CIA got Outed by Congress who tried to Reform it
In 1970s CIA just learned to use Assets and Proxies better
In the 1980s VP Bush was in Whitehouse & CIA learned to control congress pretty well, but scandals include BCCI, Bank of Credit and Commerce International & Iran Contra/Nicaragua/Other Central American Countries

A case could be made that the Whitehouse has been controlled since Ronald Reagan, and congress since the 1980s.

CIA does whatever it wants to complete it's Objectives. Does that sound familiar? Funding & Training Mujahedin in Pakistan was started by Jimmy Carter, but in Finance, in Development in Third World countries through IMF/WB and in our Military Adventures looks like CIA.

It is quite amazing how people still cling to these failed parties. The democrats and republicans are run by the same people, their positions are designed to divide. I think in this day and age, we no longer need representation. In the information age people can represent themselves, however, a democracy we do not need. Like two wolves and a sheep voting on what is for lunch, it would cause tyranny of the majority. We must have freedom of life and happiness even if that entails having the freedom to make our own mistakes and deal with the consequences of those decisions. It is lifes best teacher and humanities best hope. Preventative laws only empower slavery.

Indeed.  Apparently we still fall for "I know you are but what am I," and "I'm rubber and you're glue; whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you."  Those two statements pretty much sum up US mainstream political discussion.  And people still give it credence, because they are too scared to face the true situation.  Most people are afraid to take true personal responsibility for themselves and their lives, so they find reassurance within the whole red/blue paradigm, with the underlying assumptions that the Elites are on our side and wiill reward us if we're visibly loyal enough.

I was a kid when Watergate happened so I learned it early, but anybody who saw what happened with Katrina has no excuse for not realizing when it all comes down, nobody is going to help us.  Certainly not the people we have paid with money and power to help us when we need it.  We're on our own, and we can only depend on one another.
